A/N: This is another chapter related to Olivia and Hank's reunions. There may be one more chapter related to these. I don't own any of the characters except my own.

Hell to Pay

The next few months had gone quickly. Justin and Olive had already closed on their new place in New York, Hank, Olivia, Noah, Carly, Erin and her family had gone to Chicago for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. A few days before Christmas, Olive had given birth to Emily and Hannah and Kim had given birth to her and Adam's daughter Erin. At the end of January, Hailey gave birth to her and Jay's son Tyler.

It was mid-February and Carly was on a field trip to one of the museums with her class. By the time they were leaving to head back to school, someone had taken Carly. The teacher had done a headcount and noticed she was missing, so she called the school immediately. The Principal then called Olivia. Things had been quiet, so Hank, Hilary and Ed were all in Olivia's office when she got the call. Just from Olivia's side of the conversation, they knew it wasn't good. Then she hung up.

"What's wrong?"

"That was the school. Carly is missing. Her teacher did a headcount before they were getting back on the bus and noticed she was missing."

"What the hell do you mean Carly is missing?"

"She's not with the rest of her class. The Principal said she is headed there now. They can't leave without everyone."

"Let's go!"

They all grabbed their coats and she told Erin, Fin, Amanda and Kat what was going on. Everyone but Erin left and headed to the Museum. Erin said she would call Justin. Hank, Ed and Fin all drove to the Museum and the bus was still there. Fin and Kat went to check security cameras, Amanda, Ed and Hilary went looking through the Museum, while Hank and Olivia talked to the teacher and the other kids in the class. None of her classmates had seen anything. They sent the bus back to the school. They were hoping they would be able to see what happened on the security cameras. Fin called Olivia when it looked like they may have found something. The two of them headed to the security office. They showed them what they thought it could be.

"Yes, that's her. The perp is wearing a mask. She could be anywhere."

"If Erin was contacting Justin, then my former squad should know about it."

"I don't give a shit if your former squad knows or not. All I care about is finding my daughter."

"She's our daughter."

"It's probably related to one of your perps."

"How is this my fault? It could just as easily be one of your perps."

"Don't you dare blame me for this! I carried her inside me for 9 months."

"I am very well aware of that. I was there. You're the one pretty much blaming me for this happening. Fine. Then I will go pick up Noah at school and go home and wait for you to call me. You're the Captain, so I guess that makes you the Boss."

"Don't you dare walk away from me! You leave, we're done!"

Hank stormed off and went to get Noah at school. Olivia tried calling him but he wouldn't take her call.

"Damn it!"

"I don't blame him for bein' pissed at you, Liv."

"Shut up, Fin!"

Hank had gone to pick Noah up. As soon as Hank got there, he got out of the SUV and went inside. He saw Carly's teacher and the Principal again.

"Lieutenant, we are so sorry about all this. I hated to have to make that call to your wife."

"Did anything happen before you realized she was missing?"

"We did let the kids stop in the bathroom before we got them back on the bus. Once they were done, they were told to wait outside the washrooms for everyone else, so it is possible it happened at that time."

"She knows better than to go with anyone she doesn't know. We drilled that into both of their heads. This is what I'm having a hard time understanding."

Then Noah saw him.

"Hi Dad."

"Hey. Your sister is missing.

"What? Who took her?"

"That's what we're tryin' to find out. Your mom is still at the Museum. I'm gonna drop you off with Erin at the Precinct, since Lucy had something going on this afternoon."

"Ok. Are you gonna find Carly?"

"I hope so, kiddo."

"Please keep us posted."

"We will."

Hank took Noah's hand and they went to get Carly's things before they went out to the SUV. They got in and then Hank drove to SVU. When they arrived, they went up.

"Anything?"

"Nope. They found the abduction on the security video but the perp was wearing a mask, so we can't see his or her face. Olivia and I got into an argument, so I left. It was probably the dumbest thing I could have done. What kind of husband walks out on his wife when they are in the middle of looking for their daughter?"

"You two will be ok."

"I don't know. She said if I left, we were done."

"I don't think she meant it. Justin said they are all headed out here. Al called Meredith to stay with Olive and the kids. I called Luke and he said they will keep an eye out for anything too. He's on until tomorrow."

"Thanks. That's probably all we can do. I don't even know where to start."

Hank went into Olivia's office and was on the verge of breaking down. Olivia and Amanda had come back.

"Anything?"

"No leads yet. Where's your dad?"

"In your office."

Olivia kissed Noah, went into her office and shut the door. Hank was sitting on the sofa, so she sat next to him. She could tell he had been crying.

"I'm sorry I blamed you. We're a team and I should not have done that. Can you forgive me?"

"Yeah. I'm sorry too. I just hate that we're even in this situation. She knows better than to go anywhere with anyone she doesn't know."

"I agree completely. I love you."

"I love you too."

Hank and Olivia wrapped their arms around each other and kissed. Then Chief Garland had come in.

"Any word on Carly?"

"The abduction was caught on the security video but because the person was wearing a ski mask, we can't see his or her face. My biggest fear is her being molested or worse."

"Babe, we can't think like that. I talked with the Principal and her teacher again when I went to pick Noah up. The teacher said they all stopped in the bathroom before they got back on the bus. The kids that were done were told to wait outside the washrooms for everyone else. She said it was possible it happened then."

"Do want an Amber Alert out?"

"Yes but we have no idea who the suspect is."

"We could do a news conference and have anyone with any information to contact the hotline."

"We could. We should probably dress for the occasion too."

"I'll make the arrangements and you two get ready. I'll put my uniform on as well. We also need a recent picture."

Olivia had a recent photo of Carly on her desk, so she took it out of the frame and handed it to Chief Garland. She and Hank went to put their uniforms on, while Chief Garland arranged the news conference and put his uniform on as well. By the time they all got back, Fin, Ed, Hilary and both Hostage Negotiation and Organized Crime were all at SVU. They even let Noah be a part of it. TARU was there to set up the tracing equipment.

"Does Carly have her tablet?"

"No. I have it. I got her stuff when I picked Noah up and it was there."

"So much for that idea."

"There is extra manpower comin' from Chicago and Erin said Luke told her that they'll keep an eye out too."

"Good. Did the three of you find anything else at the Museum?"

"No. We talked to the Museum staff and no one saw anything. We took the security video to TARU and they are lookin' through it to see if they can find anything that might tell us who we're dealin' with. We already posted patrol at the airports, subway, train and bus stations specifically looking for Carly and someone is watching the cameras on the bridges and tunnels as well."

"Thanks.

"I already called Patty and told her I wasn't comin' home until Carly was home safe and sound with her family. She said if she can help in any way to let her know. I have this feeling that HNT will be needed for this anyway."

"I told Pat that I wasn't coming home either. He's on call tonight but he said he'll tell ED staff to keep an eye out for Carly as well."

"Thank you. We really appreciate it."

Hank and Olivia went to change again and by the time they were changed, Carisi was there.

"Need any help, Liv?"

"We need all the manpower we can get, so can you answer the hotline with Erin?"

"Absolutely."

"Great. Thank you."

"Yeah, no problem."

"Ed, it Patty home?"

"Yeah."

"Do you think she could watch Noah?"

"I don't see why not.

"Mom, I want to help."

"Sweetie, this could get dangerous. I don't want you to be put in the middle of anything."

"Ok."

"I would prefer you and Hank stayed here. You're both too emotionally involved in this case."

"We sort of figured that was coming."

Ed called Patty and she came to get Noah to take him home. Some time passed and the group from Chicago was arriving in New York. As soon as they got their stuff, they headed to the hotel and then to the Precinct. Justin was staying with his family, so he headed straight to the Precinct.

"Mom, Dad, anything?"

"No. Thanks for coming."

"I wouldn't have it any other way. Sis, just so you know, Halstead is here too but I think it's more to see you."

"I'm not interested in anything he has to say."

"Kim and Hailey are the only ones not here. We even brought Trudy."

"Good. How are the kids?"

"They're great. Olive goes back to work next week."

"That's great."

The phone rang and Carisi answered it. He put the call on hold.

"They want to talk to Voight."

"Put it on speaker."

"Got it."

Carisi put the call on speaker and hung up the receiver.

"This is Lieutenant Voight."

"You and the Captain need to show up at the abandoned granary at 7pm tonight. No backup, no weapons and no vests. If you don't follow my instructions, the kid is dead."

"I want to talk to my daughter."

They heard a click at the other end.

"Damn it! I tried."

"I know you did."

"He hurts her and there will be hell to pay!"

"Here's what you need to do. We are going to put a wire on Olivia, so that way we can hear what is goin' on."

"I don't do too well at the abandoned granary."

"This is about our daughter. I'll be right there with you."

TARU went to get the wire for Olivia to wear just as the group from Chicago came in. Adam handed Erin a picture of the baby.

"Thanks."

"Sure."

"Any leads?"

They filled Intelligence in as to what was going on and then waited for TARU to come back. Erin went to the washroom and went to get more tea. Jay was by her desk when she got back.

"Why didn't you ever return any of my phone calls?"

"Because I had nothing to say to you and still don't. If you loved me as much as you claim you did, then you could have come to New York."

"And be under Voight's control for the rest of my life? No thank you."

"It was my decision to come here. Not his."

"Yeah, I'm sure it was. I never stopped loving you, Erin."

"So, is that why you haven't married Upton? If that's really the reason, you're pretty pathetic. You should marry the mother of your child."

"I don't love her the way I love you. I should be the father of your children."

"Thankfully you're not. I'm completely in love with my husband."

"No, you're not."

"I'm not the same person I was when I left Chicago."

"Voight would have been fine without you."

"I wanted to be where MY family was. He is my family. Bunny finally came clean about who my father was and it's Hank."

"Bullshit!"

"It's true. We had a DNA test done and it proved it. If I'm the only reason you're here, you're going to be disappointed because I'm finally happy."

"I cannot believe that you're actually a part of that family."

"I'm happy that I am."

Erin got up, so Jay grabbed her and kissed her. Justin saw it, so he punched Jay. He had also taken a picture and thought about sending it to Hailey.

"Why the hell did you just kiss my sister?"

"Because I'm in love with her."

"Maybe I should send the picture I took to Upton."

"Don't you dare! I'll kick your ass."

"You don't scare me."

"You're a psycho like your father is. No wonder Carly was kidnapped. Whoever did this probably knows what a psycho he is."

Justin punched Jay again and this time Erin did too. Antonio, Kevin, Ruzek and Fin tried breaking it up. Hank and Olivia came out of her office.

"Stop it, you two!"

"This dumb ass kissed my married sister."

"Halstead, don't you have a baby mama?"

"I will never stop loving Erin. If you had stayed out of it, Erin and I would be married and still in Chicago, far away from you."

"Erin made the decision on her own."

"No, she did not. No wonder your kid was kidnapped."

"What did you just say?"

"You heard me."

"Halstead, I told you that if you were gonna start something, you needed to stay home."

"Erin kissed me."

"You are such a liar, Jay. You grabbed me and kissed me."

"I want you to look me straight in the eye and tell me that you don't still love me and still want me. We were so good together."

Erin looked Jay straight in the eye.

"I don't still love you. I love MY husband. He is the only man I want. I'm not supposed to be getting stressed out but I'm already upset because my sister was kidnapped. I don't need my jealous ex-boyfriend causing more problems for me, especially when he has a girlfriend and a kid of his own. Go!"

Jay stormed off and headed out. TARU came back with Olivia's wire and Erin decided to call Hailey to tell her everything that had happened with Jay. Hailey told her she appreciated her honesty and asked if there had been any leads on Carly. Erin told her what was going on and then she hung up.

"Well, it had to be done."

"I thought she had the right to know. She is not too happy with him right now and honestly, I wouldn't blame her if she kicked him out."

"The kid's last name on the birth certificate is Upton. She told Jay that unless he married her before he was born, he would not have his last name. He didn't care. Jay completely blames Voight for everything that happened with you."

"I've made all my decisions not Hank."

"I get that."

"Jay doesn't."

Hank and Olivia headed to the abandoned granary and then everyone but Erin and Carisi headed somewhere nearby. When Hank arrived at the granary, they left everything in their SUV and then Hank took Olivia's hand. They headed up to the room. Olivia was starting to become uncomfortable. She felt Hank's hand grab hers tighter. She had to stay strong for their daughter.

"Olivia."

"Yeah."

"Whatever happens, I love you."

"I love you too."

As soon as they got up to the room, Olivia was feeling nauseous.

"I can't do this."

"It'll be ok."

They saw their daughter tied up. All Olivia wanted to do was hold her. As soon as they walked in, the door to the room slammed.

"Now we can talk business."

"What the hell do you want?"

"You to admit you were wrong and my son to be released from prison."

"I wasn't wrong because his DNA was found at multiple crime scenes."

"His DNA was planted on the victims. If he isn't released, then your daughter dies. Once I kill your daughter, I will go to your home and kill your son. Your older kids and grandchildren will be killed as well. I'll save this one for last. She will be raped and murdered right in front of you. You have 1 hour. Enjoy your last hour as a family."

He smirked at them and left. Then Olivia broke down.

"Olivia, I am so sorry."

"We were so careful with this case."

"All we can hope for is someone to take him out."

"We can't lose her."

"I can't lose any of you. What do we do?"

"I don't know. All I know is that he's guilty. Even if someone does take him out, there are probably more family members that will pick up where he left off."

Hank and Olivia untied Carly, so they could hold her. They kept talking and even named the guy by name, so the others knew who they were talking about. Everyone else was doing what they could. They had Justin go back to the Precinct with Erin and Ed called Patty to have her bring Noah to the Precinct. Trudy called Chicago and had an officer watching Olive and the kids. Justin had called to tell her what was going on. Erin called her in-laws and told them what was going on as well. Then Olivia's phone rang.

"Hey, Ed."

"Hey. Justin is at the Precinct with Erin and I had Patty bring Noah there as well. Platt called Chicago and now has an officer keeping an eye on Olive and the kids."

"I just want them safe. How do we get out of this? Hank is about ready to tell the guy to kill him instead of any of the rest of us."

"Garland is on a call with Carisi and the DA to stage a release and then once we get the guy that took Carly, he'll be taken back into custody. Hold on."

"Yep."

Ed was told the guy that was in prison had been killed.

"Liv, the guy in prison has been killed."

"That's going to piss the father off even more and we have about 30 minutes."

"Hilary and the rest of OC went to contact the FBI and take the rest of the family into custody but HNT, SVU and CPD Intelligence are here and so is Phoebe. ESU is about ready to move in as well. Is Carly ok?"

"She's scared but she's in her daddy's arms right now."

They heard gunshots down below.

"We hear gunshots."

"As far as I know, no one moved in yet."

All of a sudden the door to the room was kicked down and Jay came in.

"Halstead."

"He's dead. I came here after I got into it with Erin and Justin and hid. I decided to wait until the time was right. I apologize for my behavior. I still care about Erin and probably always will."

"So, then you did this for Erin figuring she'd leave her husband for you?"

"That's not it at all. I know I need to let Erin go in order to be happy with Hailey and the baby. I know Erin called Hailey and told her what happened and I deserved that. I do love Hailey and my son. I never should have said what I said before either."

Hank and Jay shook hands and then the 4 of them headed downstairs. They had already contacted the ME. Jay told Antonio what happened and then everyone headed back to the Precinct. The rest of the family had been taken into custody. When everyone got back to the Precinct, Jay apologized to Erin and Justin and then Hank told them what happened, while Olivia held both Noah and Carly. Hank joined her in her office and held his kids, while Justin called Olive to tell her everything was over.

Everyone called it a day and Hank wanted to take everyone out for dinner as a thank you for everything they had done. Erin went to get Kelsey and then they all decided where they were meeting. Erin and Jay had a long talk and Jay told her that he wanted her in his life but he was now ok with being friends. She convinced him that he needed to focus on his relationship with Hailey and their infant son. He said he knew he did. He realized he needed a kick in the ass to bring him back to reality and Erin was always good at doing that. She said Hailey would have to do that from now on.

After dinner and everyone went home or back to their hotel, Hank tucked Noah in, while Olivia helped Carly get ready for bed. She didn't see any bruising on her and she had asked her multiple times if the man had touched her inappropriately. She said no. Olivia got her into bed and then Hank came in. They asked her if she wanted to talk about what had happened and she talked about it for a little bit. They both kissed her goodnight and then they shut her light off. They both stood in the doorway and watched her for a while. Hank took Olivia's hand and they headed to their bedroom. They got ready for bed and then they made love. Hank had fallen asleep but Olivia was still thinking about what had happened. She felt Hank's arms tighten around her. As uncomfortable as she had been being in that room at the granary again, she had gotten through it because she had Hank there with her. She had no idea how she would be feeling if things had ended differently. She was just glad everyone in the family was safe and sound. There were only a few more months until the entire family would be living in the same city.
