A/N: This is related to the two previous chapters titled "Learned My Lesson" and "A Fight for Life". I had intended to make this the last chapter for this storyline but it's looking like there will be another one. I don't own any of the characters.

One Day at a Time

Olivia had taken 4 weeks of paid family leave to care for Hank, who was progressing well and once Olivia had gone back to work, Erin took 4 weeks off too. Lucy was around to help out as well. He had talked to Dr. Charles prior to leaving Chicago and Olivia had introduced him to Dr. Lindstrom once they were back in New York.

The person that pulled the trigger ended up turning himself in to the Police and agreed to testify against Elliot. He also said that Denny Woods had given Elliot his name, so Denny was being charged as an accomplice. It didn't take long for the FBI to track down Elliot. He was apprehended in Italy and extradited back to the United States and put on trial in Chicago for Hank's attempted murder and Bunny's murder. Even though he hadn't been the one to pull the trigger, he would still have to serve a considerable amount of time in prison. After leaving New York after the Rob Miller case, Peter Stone had gone back to his job in Chicago as Assistant State's Attorney, so his job was to prosecute Elliot. Elliot decided to represent himself with his lawyer as co-Counsel. Peter had put Olivia on the stand and that was the first time Elliot had heard Olivia referred to as Olivia Voight. That really pissed him off. By the time Elliot had cross-examined her, he told her he knew she wanted him and still did. She had only married Hank because she was trying to deny her real feelings for him. Peter pretty much objected to all of Elliot's questioning and the Judge agreed. His lawyer said that he didn't feel his Client was getting a fair trial in Chicago. Olivia's squad, including Chief Garland and Carisi had come to Chicago with Hank, Olivia and Erin for support and while they were recessed, Fin commented that Elliot's lawyer would say the same thing if the trial had been in New York. Everyone agreed. Elliot's kids had been there too but they weren't sure what to think. Dr. Charles was another one of Peter's witnesses. Once the Prosecution rested and the Defense started putting witnesses on the stand, his lawyer had subpoenaed Matt Casey and Meredith Olinsky to testify on his behalf but both of them had made peace with Hank. They had both seen how much he loved both Olivia and Noah and how much they loved him. Elliot himself took the stand and he pretty much said he would do anything to protect the woman he loved. Peter kept asking why the victim was the one being put on trial by the Defendant. It didn't take the jury long to find Elliot guilty of both crimes.

With the trial several months behind them, Hank and Olivia were finally able to have their reception. They were finally going on their honeymoon as well. While many of Olivia's friends knew about what had happened, the only ones that had been there were her squad and Carisi. Mostly everyone from Chicago were coming in and that included Hank's former squad, Trudy, Meredith, Peter, the group from 51 and some of them from Med, including Sharon Goodwin, Maggie and Ben, Will and Dr. Charles. Kim and Adam were bringing Makayla, Herrmann was bringing Cindy and Boden was bringing Donna and Terrance. Everyone arrived in New York and got checked into their hotel. Olivia and Hank had invited everyone over to their home. Her squad, Jesse, Billie and the Garlands were already there. When they arrived, everyone went to ring the doorbell. Noah answered the door.

"Hi everyone."

"Hey, Noah."

"Come on in."

"Thanks."

Everyone came in and then Hank and Olivia had come downstairs.

"Hey, everyone."

"Hey."

Maggie introduced Ben to everyone and Kim introduced them to Makayla as well. Noah, Jesse, Billie, Abby, Makayla and Terrance all went to watch a movie.

"You're looking better."

"I'm feelin' better. I'm glad this is behind us. Casey, thanks for what you said."

"You're welcome. I know things were tense between us for a while but we had put that behind us after you lost Justin."

"I know what I did was wrong. I was just tryin' to protect my kid."

"I get that. I've noticed a definite change in you since Olivia came into your life."

"I think we all have."

"A part of me wanted to blame you for what had happened to Alvin but I would never want anything bad to happen to you. I know you didn't ask him to do what he did."

"I told him to let me handle it but he wanted to do it. Not a day has gone by that I don't think about Al or wish it had been me. It almost was me. Now I'm just trying to be the best damn husband and father I can be to Olivia and Noah."

"Alvin wouldn't have wanted me to stay mad at you. You did after all have him exonerated in order for me to be able to get his pension."

"I felt I owed that to you."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

Meredith hugged Hank.

"Do you hear from the Antonio at all?"

"I hear from him maybe once a month or every other month. He called after what happened. They're doin' good and send their regards to everyone.

"Good."

"Cruz and Chloe send their regards."

"How's Chloe doin'?"

"She's hangin' in there. Joe is kind of nervous about this dad stuff."

"Let us know when the baby gets here."

"We will do that."

"Peter is so good to see you. Thank you for coming."

"I've been meaning to get back here anyway. I haven't left flowers at my sister's grave since before I left after the Rob Miller case. I hope you're getting along with your new ADA."

"Carisi is the new ADA. Barba is now a Defense Attorney. Elana Barth is no longer a Judge but she is now a Defense Attorney. Carisi has held his own against both of them."

"Good for you."

"I still have a lot of learnin' to do though."

Olivia took the women around to show them the place. Hank sat in his chair and most of the guys sat down with him.

"It's good to see you up and about, Hank."

"Thanks, Wallace."

"How are you feeling?"

"Pretty good, actually. Olivia took off for 4 weeks and then once she went back to work, Erin took 4 weeks off. They both did the paid family leave. Lucy stays with me when she can. Olivia usually goes with me if I have an appointment, just so she knows what's goin' on. I'm done with physical therapy but they told me not to overdo it. Of course Dr. Marcel had told me that too."

"You're lucky Crockett showed up when he did."

"I know I am. When I started seeing the doctor here, he told me that whoever did my surgery did an awesome job because it is healing nicely and quickly. I said the surgeon that did my surgery had shown up at the scene right after it happened and put a chest tube in."

"I won't tell Crockett that. He has enough of an ego."

"I've been shot before. It's a long recovery."

"It was a long recovery for me after I was stabbed, so I know what you're goin' through too.

"Antonio has been shot a couple times, so he said he knows what I'm goin' through and so does Halstead. I'm just takin' things one day at a time. I just wish things didn't have to end like that for Bunny. I know we didn't always see eye to eye but she was still Erin's mother. She was just pretty much collateral damage. I was the intended target and she's the one that lost her life."

"Erin doesn't blame you though."

"I know she doesn't."

"It could have been any of us."

"I know."

The guys kept talking and then the ladies came back downstairs. Olivia sat on the arm of Hank's chair.

"This place is amazing."

"Thanks. We like it. Noah is still in the same school. Our neighbor is a firefighter/paramedic. If Hank is home by himself, his wife will check in on him. They have a daughter Noah's age and they have gotten to be good friends. They've always been in the same class but they've become even closer since we moved here."

"Good."

"Are Olive and Daniel coming in?"

"They are. They'll be here later. You'll be able to meet the rest of my friends tomorrow."

"We're looking forward to it."

"Will Erin be here tonight?"

"Actually, no. She's out of town on assignment and coming home either late tonight or early tomorrow. She wasn't sure when but she'll be here for the party."

"How has she been?"

"I think a part of her is more relieved than anything that Bunny is out of the picture. She was more upset about what happened to Hank. She took time off to help out with Hank once I went back to work, which I really appreciated."

"Normally I don't have anything nice to say about Bunny but I think she was trying to make an effort to fix her relationships with others. She told me she had been clean for a while and she wanted to fix her relationship with Erin."

"Her toxicology test was clean."

"A part of me blames myself for what happened to her."

"Erin doesn't blame you."

"You weren't the one that pulled the trigger and Bunny has a history of lying. When she and I were together, I knew there was a lot that she didn't want to tell me and I didn't exactly trust Bunny. I'm the one that ran the DNA on Jimmy Sanguinetti because I didn't buy the fact that he was Erin's father."

"Bunny blamed me for that. She told me that maybe Erin should have my DNA run. She was obviously right about that. How could I have been so stupid not to realize that my own flesh and blood was in my life all along?"

"Because Bunny's version of the truth was always different from everyone else's. I know you and I haven't always seen eye to eye but we can agree that we both care about Erin. I still do even though we're no longer together. It was obvious to me since Olivia's been around, that Erin seemed to have a more stable female in her life and she had more of a relationship with her than she ever did with Bunny. I know she tried with Teddy but now she has a chance to be the sister she wanted to be to him with Noah."

"She was always a lot closer to Justin than she was Teddy."

"I did notice that. She was even closer to Nadia than she was Teddy."

"Yep."

Hank got up and went to the bathroom.

"How's he really doing?"

"He has his good days and his bad days. Physically he's been great. He doesn't sleep much at night sometimes. He's seen my Therapist a few times. We're taking things one day at a time. I'm hoping the next week will help him relax a bit."

"Where did you decide to go?"

"Hawaii."

"Were you originally going to Hawaii?"

"We were."

"Who's taking Noah?"

"Erin is. Lucy will take him and pick him up from school and take him to dance class. Erin cleared her schedule next to make sure she was going to be here."

"Where is she this week?"

"Washington, DC for some kind of a training. If she gets stuck at work for any reason, she'll call Rollins. If Rollins has to go in, then I guess it's Carisi. I have a surprise for Hank. I talked to Antonio and he is planning to be here."

"Oh, wow! That's awesome!"

"What about Gabby?"

"I extended the invitation to her too but I did say Matt would probably be here. I don't know if she knows about the two of your or not."

"Actually, she has no idea about Sylvie and me but if she's here, we'll deal with it."

"Antonio said he doubted she'd come though."

"It'll still be good to see him.

Then Hank came back.

"Are we gonna order the pizzas?"

"We could do that. I'm sure the kids just want cheese."

Hank and Olivia found out what everyone wanted and then ordered the pizzas. In the meantime, Olivia's phone rang for a case. She went back to the living room.

"Fin, I just got a call about a case. Can you, Rollins and Kat handle it or do you need me?"

"We got it."

"Thanks."

"Call if you need anything."

"Me too."

"Thanks, Chief. You too, Carisi."

Amanda went to tell the girls she was leaving but Auntie Liv, Uncle Hank and Uncle Sonny were around. They were fine with that. They left and headed wherever they needed to go.

"Never a dull moment. To be honest, I didn't miss it when I was off with Hank for 4 weeks. If I didn't have a son who was still in grade school and a mortgage on this place, I would seriously consider retiring."

"You'd get a pretty good pension, I would imagine."

"Probably. Most of the sale of Hank's house went to the mortgage here but there were a few things we had to replace as well. I was renting before, so this is the first home I have owned. Nothing in New York is cheap and that includes the taxes."

"Chicago isn't much better but I imagine New York is a lot higher. Is there anything you don't like about living in New York?"

"Yep. September 11th and Superstorm Sandy."

"Did you know anyone that was killed on 9/11?"

"Not that day but Ed Tucker, my ex, ended up with cancer because he was sifting through rubble looking for anything that could identify victims. Melinda Warner, who's with the ME's office, was swamped trying to identify people and making lists."

"I was among 100-some firefighters from Chicago that came out here to help with search and rescue but it ended up being more of a recovery than a rescue."

"I can imagine."

"A few years back, I came out here and visited the firehouse I assisted. Casey and Severide came with me. I wasn't sure I wanted to but we got to see the memorial."

"Noah and I went to see it and he asked me about that day. He'll learn about it in school though. He's also asked about my mother too."

"Does he know the whole story about what happened with Voight?"

"He does but he doesn't really understand why someone would do that. I'm still hurt by how Elliot was nowhere to be seen or heard from for a decade and he all of a sudden comes back into my life when everything is going so well for me. He tells me just after he buries his wife that he's in love with me. Even if I wasn't with Hank, I wouldn't want to be with Elliot. His kids still aren't sure what to make of all this though and I don't blame them. What made him think that I would go running into his arms if I had lost Hank? If Hank had died, I never would have forgiven Elliot. I'm just glad the jury didn't buy any of his crap in court when he tried turning everything around and made Hank look like the bad guy instead of the victim."

"Yates did the same thing."

"Yep and it didn't work. All the witnesses the so-called Defense had ended up backfiring in Elliot's face."

"Yates got what he had comin' to him. Stabler probably thought Casey and Meredith would help his case because he was trying to prove I was a bad person. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not perfect."

"No one is."

"Elliot thought he was."

"He sure made it sound that way."

"Like I said in court, whatever problem I had with Voight was nearly a decade ago."

"The thing that pisses me off is that Elliot kept bringing things up about Hank that had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he tried having Hank killed. He claimed that he was trying to protect me from Hank. Hank was never obsessed with me the way Elliot was nor would he ever hurt me. When I was with Ed, Hank accepted that and we were still in each other's lives as friends. Ed was the same way once Hank and I got together. Elliot could never accept that I was with Hank and he sure as hell would never understand me being with Ed. Ever since he came back into my life, he's become so possessive of me."

"If anything changes with him, I will let you know as soon as I know."

"Thank you, Peter."

"I doubt they will let him out even if he behaves."

"The chances of that happening are slim to none. You already know he's a flight risk."

"Right, which is why I asked for remand at arraignment. Even if he comes up for parole, you'll know about it. You'd have to testify at the hearing anyway."

"For all we know, he could still be conspiring to have someone try again until Hank's dead. I should not be fearing for Hank's life."

"He has very little contact with anyone and the Warden knows to keep me informed of any calls he may have. The same with Woods."

"Ok."

"Did Stabler's family know you were with someone?"

"Kathleen did. Kathy, his now late wife, made a comment when she saw me in the hospital that Elliot and I were always so in sync. I told Kathleen about what her mom had said after Elliot told me he loved me. I also told her that times have changed and I'm not the same person I once was."

The doorbell rang, so Hank went to get it. He figured it was the pizza but instead it was Antonio.

"Antonio!"

"Hey."

"What are you doin' here?"

"Olivia invited me."

"Come in."

"Thanks."

Antonio came in and hugged Hank. They then went into the living room where everyone else was.

"Look who's here."

"Hey, Dawson!"

"Hey, everyone!"

"Good to see ya!"

"You too, Herrmann."

"Make sure you say hi to Gabby from all of us."

"I will. She sends her love to everyone too."

Hank and Olivia introduced Antonio to everyone he didn't know and then he hugged everyone he did know including Matt and Sylvie.

"You both look good."

"You too, Antonio."

"So, are you two together now or what?"

"Is it that obvious?"

"Gabby said she sort of had a feeling that you two had feelings for each other the last time she was in Chicago. Honestly, she's fine with it and I am too."

"Thanks."

"No problem."

"How you doin', Man?"

"Pretty good, actually."

"How are your kids?"

"They're so grown up. I have no idea how that happened."

"Do you see them a lot?"

"Diego more than Eva but she still comes to visit."

Antonio pulled up a recent picture of his kids that he had on his phone and showed everyone.

"Oh, wow!"

"By the way, we're planning on taking Erin, Olive and the boys on a cruise next year to the Caribbean during the boys' spring break and the one we're looking into stops in San Juan. Would you be able to meet us?"

"Sure. Just let me know when."

"Ok, we will."

"So, Burgess, Voight tells me you're a mom now."

"I am. She's 7 years old and her name is Makayla. Adam is co-parenting her with me."

"Wow! I'd love to meet her sometime."

"She's in the other room."

"We put a movie in for the kids."

"NOAH."

"YEAH?"

"BRING EVERYONE IN HERE."

"OK."

Noah put the movie on pause and came into the living room.

"Uncle Antonio!"

"Hey, kiddo! It's good to see you."

"You too."

"You're getting tall."

"That's what Mom says."

"How your dancing going?"

"Awesome! I love it."

"Good."

"These two are Jesse and Billie, Amanda's girls."

"I think when I was here with Lindsay that time, Jesse was just born."

"It probably was. This is Abby Garland, my boss' daughter. Abby, this is Antonio Dawson, who used to work with Hank."

"It's nice to meet you."

"You too."

"This is my little man, Terrance. Say hi to Antonio, Terrance."

"Hi Antonio."

"Hey, Terrance. He's grown since I last saw him too."

"Yep."

"This is Makayla. Makayla, this is Antonio. He used to work with us."

"Hi."

"Hey."

"We will have one more tomorrow. Olive and Daniel are coming in tonight. He had a half day at school today. I think their flight gets in around 7 our time."

The kids went back to their movie.

"How's Lindsay?"

"She's good. She's in DC right now but will be here for the party. She's takin' Noah while we're gone. Bunny's death affected her more than she expected. We did find out that I'm her father. She and Olivia both took 4 weeks of family leave. Olivia and I stayed with Platt and Mouch for 10 days after I got out of the hospital, since my stuff was being picked up by the end of the week I was in the hospital. She cancelled having my SUV picked up and we used that to drive here, so I didn't have to fly. Once Olivia went back to work, Erin took her 4 weeks."

"How did you find out that Erin was yours?"

"Bunny told me that just before the shooting. She was clean and trying to repair her relationships with people, which included both me and Erin. She never got to fix her relationship with Erin."

"Who the hell would be dumb enough to go after you in the first place?"

"Olivia's former partner, who lost his wife and then declared his love to Olivia shortly afterward. We had worked on another case together and up until then, she hadn't told him about us. Lucy was taking Noah and Rollins' girls to see her parents for the weekend, so she had brought them to the Precinct. When Noah saw me, he called me 'Dad', even though it wasn't official yet. Stabler got all bent out of shape about that. He was interrogating the suspect, while Olivia and I stood by the door and he was being obnoxious. Olivia asked him what his problem was and he said it was me. She told him that if he ever acted like that in the Interrogation Room or spoke to anyone like that again, she would write him up for insubordination."

"Both squads had gone out for dinner and Elliot had texted me to tell me that it was very important that he meet with me, so I left the restaurant and went to his Precinct. He had dug up a bunch of stuff on Hank to give to me, including what was said at Yates' trial and I told him I knew about all of it. Hank and I have no secrets from each other and I know absolutely everything. He seemed pretty proud of himself for doing all this and he thought he was going to cause problems for us. I told him to stay out of my life and to stay away from me and my family. I told him he could go back to Italy for all I cared because I wouldn't miss him. I also told him Hank wasn't going anywhere. His response to that was "we'll see about that". That night, with both squads, we went to Atlantic City and got married. Erin had Noah and Olive and Daniel on video chat and Burgess had Platt on as well, so they were all there but not physically. Hank stayed longer than everyone else and he only had a couple weeks left anyway before he retired. His last week with CPD was when I got the call from Trudy telling me that he had been shot. I had a feeling from the beginning that it was Elliot because of what he had said to me. Erin got the FBI in both cities involved with the case and both squads were involved. It turned out that Denny Woods was involved because Elliot had contacted him in prison. Elliot actually left the country and went back to Italy but the FBI tracked him down. He was extradited back to the US and put on trial in Chicago. He decided to represent himself and basically put Hank on trial. He even tried using Matt and Meredith to make Hank look bad but they both said whatever happened in the past, was in the past."

"I even had my problems with Voight before he took over Intelligence. I'm the one that arrested him for what happened with Casey. Gabby had gone to him to help track down the person who shot me. I wasn't necessarily thrilled that he was going to be my new Boss but I dealt with it and he was supportive when my son was kidnapped. We didn't always agree on how things were handled but we learned to work together. When I had been offered a job in the State's Attorney's office as the lead investigator, Voight was supportive and told me I deserved to lead my own unit. When that job didn't work out and Peter ended up taking the ADA job here, Voight was more than happy to give me my job back. That was right after Erin had taken the job with the FBI. Woods had tried getting me to spy on Voight but I told him that I'm not a snitch. I screwed up big time after my shoulder injury and became addicted to painkillers."

"I know that feeling. I had been injured on the job and it turned out it was in my neck. I did everything I could to not to be put on disability and that included taking pain pills. Having that surgery was the best thing I could have done. Then I started going in a downward spiral after Shay died and after I lost my dad. I don't ever want to be in that place again. Stella and I are now engaged."

"Congratulations!"

"Thanks."

"I'm happy for Benson and Voight too. It's about time."

"It is. We hear the same thing from Fin and Erin all the time too."

"Who's in charge of Intelligence now?"

"Halstead."

"You actually trust Halstead with the unit?"

"He has seniority over everyone else. If you were still around, it would have been you. I did tell him once that Intelligence would be his to run someday. We still don't see eye to eye with a lot but he was supportive with what happened to me."

"You were also there for me after I lost my dad. I should have listened to you when you told me to stay out of that investigation."

"I know I made the right decision."

"I won't let you down. I signed up to take the Sergeant's exam the next time it's offered and told these 3 to take the Detective's exam the next time it is offered. Miller agreed that they should all take it. She sends her regards and said to say thank you again for the invitation."

"She called the other night. She's been calling regularly to see how Hank is. Everyone has."

The doorbell rang again.

"Hopefully that's the pizza."

"I got it."

"Thanks, Kev. Here's the money. The tip is there too."

"Ok."

Hank gave Kevin the money and he went to the door. He paid for the pizzas and then the delivery guy left. He took the pizzas into the kitchen and then everyone ate. A little while later, Fin, Amanda and Kat came back and told Olivia and Chief Garland what was going on as they had pizza. They introduced Kat to Antonio and then Fin and Amanda got caught up with him as well. The doorbell rang, so Olivia went to get it. It was Olive and Daniel.

"Hey, Olive."

"Hey."

"Hi Grandma!"

"Hi Sweetie."

"Someone is a little wound up."

"That's to be expected. He usually is by the time he gets here. You want some pizza?"

"I do!"

"You're always hungry."

Daniel came in and went to hug Hank and then he went into the kitchen to get pizza, while Olive took their bags up to their rooms. She came back down and got something to eat. Noah was showing the other kids some of his dance moves and positions and he ended up rolling his ankle. He ended up on the floor.

"Ow!"

"Noah, are you ok?"

"I hurt my ankle."

Then he tried getting up but couldn't put any weight on it.

"I can't put any weight on it."

Abby went to get Olivia.

"Olivia, Noah was showing us his dance moves and positions and he ended up rolling his ankle. He said he can't put any weight on it."

Olivia got up and Will got up as well.

"Sorry, it's a habit."

"Don't worry about it. You know more about it than I do."

The 2 of them and Abby went into the family room. Noah had tears running down his cheeks. His foot looked pretty swollen.

"Let me have a look, ok?"

Noah nodded his head. Will took Noah's shoe and sock off and felt around his foot and ankle.

"Ow! Uncle Will, that hurts!"

"I'm sorry! It could be a bad sprain of the ankle or the ligament in the ankle or it could be a fracture. You should probably take him to get some xrays done. Sometimes sprains can be worse than breaks."

"I don't want to go to the hospital!"

"Sweetie, you don't have a choice."

"Do you have an Ace bandage or some kind of wrap and an ice pack?"

"We do. I'll be right back."

Olivia went to find what Will needed and then Hank, Sylvie and Violet came in.

"Everything ok, Will?"

"I said it could be a bad sprain of the ankle or the ligament in the ankle or a fracture."

"Sprains can be worse."

"Exactly."

Olivia came back with an Ace bandage and a one-time use cold pack.

"The only thing I don't have is crutches."

Will popped the cold pack and put it on Noah's ankle.

"Brett, can you hold this for me, so I can wrap his ankle?"

"Of course."

Sylvie held the cold pack on Noah's ankle, while Will wrapped it. Then they both helped him up.

"It hurts!"

"I know it does, Sweetie."

They helped Noah out to Olivia's SUV, while Olivia got her stuff. Hank kissed both of them and then she left to take Noah to the hospital.

"Is Noah ok?"

"He should be. He probably won't be dancing for a while though."

"I'm sure he knows that."

"When is his next recital?"

"I wanna say November but then there's one around the Holidays too. Olivia and Lucy know his schedule better than I do. I'm gonna have to be doin' a lot more of this once I'm back to driving. I wasn't sure how I felt about this dancing stuff but he's actually quite good and he's happy doin' it. I'm proud of him no matter what he chooses to do. Daniel too."

"I was surprised when you told me he was dancing now because he was really excited about baseball when I was still here."

"I think part of the reason he lost interest was when you left New York."

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault. He's been much happier doin' this."

Hank found Noah's last recital on his phone and let Antonio watch it.

"Oh, wow! He is good. How often did you come see his recitals?"

"As often as I could. He was in the middle school production of The Nutcracker the first few months he was dancing and everyone from Intelligence came out to see that. Olivia was able to get enough tickets for both squads and Erin was there too. We recorded it for Olive to watch when we saw her for Christmas."

"Good. How've you been, Olive?"

"I'm doing great. Between working and taking Daniel everywhere, I keep busy."

"I bet. Do you like Arizona?"

"For every season but summer. I love not dealing with winter anymore but it gets so hot in the summer. Our complex only has an outdoor pool but our neighbor, who watches him, takes him and her son, who's his best friend, to the Y a lot during the summer months. He loves swimming but I don't want him out in that heat. They both play soccer and that started around the time school started. He scored a goal in his game yesterday."

"Wow! Congratulations!"

"Thank you."

Olive pulled up the video of the game to show Hank and then everyone else saw it as well.

"I'm so proud of you."

"Thank you, Papa."

"Great job, Daniel!"

"Thanks."

"I can't believe how much he has grown."

"I know. I can't either.

They all continued talking and then the ones with kids left first. A little while later, everyone else left. Olive told Daniel to get ready for bed and then let him watch a movie until he got sleepy, while she helped Hank clean up.

"How are you doing?"

"I'm good. I'm takin' things one day at a time. I think not having to go back to work helped me recover from this. I don't think I would have gotten through this without any of you especially Olivia."

"I know she blames herself for what happened because he was so obsessed with her."

"She was blaming herself when her former Sergeant was killed around the same time Justin was and a part of her blames herself for what happened to Ed. Sometimes you don't know what drives someone to kill themselves but I know better than anyone how it feels to lose someone you love to cancer. I blame myself for what happened to Bunny even though she was never one of my favorite people and she lied to me about Erin. I should have done my job and protected her better."

"None of us would have handled it very well if we had lost you."

"I know. I hear that from Olivia all the time. Since the shooting, I think we've gotten closer. I'm glad we get to go away for a week and spend some time alone. I worry about her every time she goes to work especially after what happened to me."

"That's understandable."

Once they finished cleaning up, Olive went to check on Daniel, who was finally asleep. She got ready for bed and read her book. Hank texted Olivia to see what was going on with Noah. She said he was still waiting for his results as the Emergency Room was busy and if he wanted to go to bed, he should go to bed. They'd be home sometime. Hank went upstairs and got ready for bed. He got into bed and put the TV on. Olive had already fallen asleep. Hank hoped to stay awake until Olivia and Noah got home.

A couple hours later, Noah found out that his ankle was badly sprained, just like Will had said. The doctor told him to keep it elevated and off of it as much as possible. He could wear the Ace bandage or get an ankle support to wear. He told him no activities for maybe 6 weeks just to give it time to heal but everyone's healing time was different. He got him some crutches would have a prescription sent to the Pharmacy. Once he was released, they wheeled him out in the wheelchair, while Olivia went to get her SUV. They helped Noah get in and then Olivia drove home after she went to get his prescription. When they got home, Olivia got him inside and got him a snack, so he could take his medicine. She then helped him upstairs.

"Mom, can I sleep with you and Dad tonight?"

"I think that would be ok. That way if you need to get up to go to the bathroom, one of us will be able to help you. Go get ready for bed."

"Ok."

Noah went into his room and got ready for bed. Olivia went into her and Hank's bedroom.

"You're still awake."

"Yep. I wanted to wait up for you. How's Noah?"

"It's badly sprained just like Will said. He wants to sleep with us tonight."

"Ok."

"I need to get his pillows and some pillows to keep his foot elevated."

Noah had gone into the bathroom to go to the bathroom and brush his teeth. Olivia went to get his pillows and Eddie and went back downstairs to get the throw pillows from the family room. She made sure everything was locked up and the lights were off before she went back upstairs. Noah was coming out of the bathroom.

"Oh good, you have Eddie."

"Of course I do."

They both went into Olivia and Hank's room and then she helped Noah get into bed. She got his pillows just the way he liked them and then she put the throw pillows under his injured ankle.

"Are you comfortable?"

"Yes. I love both of you."

"We love you too."

She handed him Eddie and kissed him. Hank kissed his head. Olivia then kissed Hank. She went to get ready for bed and once she was done, she came out of the bathroom. Noah and Hank were both sound asleep and Noah had his head on Hank's chest. She got into bed on the other side of Noah, turned out the light and got settled before she fell asleep.
