Authors note:
The actual exams are being passed around, I'm stressed, just want to get out of the plot LOL.
Don't worry, only this chapter will be rushed. Thank your lucky stars I hate studying, sigh.
Everyone Pov:
At the ass crack of dawn, Dallas barged into the house.
"What the hell Dallas!" Darry hollered, obviously pissed at the intruder.
"Rumble, tonight. Hand me the first aid kit." Dallas muttered, heading to the couch. He pushed
off Two-bit causing the said greaser to curse. It wasn't long before Steve, too, slammed open
the door causing the remaining people to awaken. Soda popped out of his room to see what all
the commotion was about. Darry was about to hound down Steve, when he noticed their
battered up faces.
"Why're you guys roughed up at this time of the day?" He questioned.
"Damn socs crossed the line, so I had to pay them a visit." Noticing the puzzled look on Darry's
face he continued.
"Had a quick chat with Tim and was head'n back when I saw a bunch of the no good sons of a
b-. Just jumped 'em, and before I knew it, Steve joined in. Gave them a good shaking, and got
them to spread around town 'bout that rumble. Look, I know you probably don't want a rumble
right now, but they crossed the line first. I mean did ya see the kid's face? He looks like
someone fu-" The soft sound of the bedroom door opening stopped Dallas from possibly getting
his face beat again. Out came Pony, half his face covered in white wrapping, and his head
disheveled like a mop.
"What's happening?" Ponyboy asked drowsily. He paused and winced as if opening his mouth
hurt.
"Nothing, honey, go back to sleep." Soda said as he ushered Pony back in his room. Steve
caught Pony by the shoulders, causing him to stumble back into the living room. Soda gave
Steve a death glare which he promptly ignored as he spoke to the kid.
"Ponyboy, tell me what those drunk bastards looked like. So that I can hunt them down in the
rumble." Although Steve acted like he didn't care for the kid, he thought of him as his own kid
brother just like the rest of the gang.
"I-I don't really remember. One of them had rings, golly, I can still feel the silver cut up my skin."
The silence in the room was deathly as everybody listened intently to every word Pony said.
Johnny seemed to realize something as his kicked puppy eyes doubled in size.
"That's sheldon! He and his crew just j-jumped me just last month." Johnny spoke softly, his
hand absentmindedly tracing the scar just on his cheekbone. They all instantly connected the
dots and Dallas cursed in outrage. They were all riled up, knowing those no good snobby rich
boys were behind this all. In fact, they would win the rumble right then and there.
Ponyboy tried to muffle a groan, the noise was equivalent to a hammer on the head. Darry told
everybody to go back home, except for Johnny (duh) and Soda led Pony back into his bed. At
night they would meet again for the much-needed rumble. And they were positive nothing would
go wrong. Boy were they wrong.
