A/N: I recently did a rewatch of SVU. This chapter relates to Granting Immunity (Season 16, Episode 19) but does not follow the case. I'm also not planning to follow the other episodes or cases other than Johnny D being killed. Nick doesn't leave but Dodds still joins the squad later on. Erin knows that Hank is her dad. I don't own any of the characters except my own.
I had planned on getting this posted before Christmas but I was in the hospital for several days. I'm finally feeling better and was able to finish it.
Olivia and Lucy, along with Fin and Nick had taken Noah to the hospital because he couldn't breathe. Olivia was glad that she had her squad's support. While Olivia was in the waiting room, she called Hank.
"Hey."
"Hey."
"What's wrong?"
"Noah is sick. I took him to the pediatrician and he was exposed to the measles. He couldn't breathe, so we took him to the hospital. He was admitted to the PICU. I'm really scared, Hank."
"Do you want me to come out there?"
"We may have to come clean about our relationship."
"You know what, I really don't care. I'll be on the next flight out."
"Thank you."
"Yep."
Olivia told Hank where they were and once he hung up, he made the arrangements to fly to New York. Olivia was able to go in to see Noah.
Several hours later, Hank arrived in New York. He got his stuff and then he took a cab to the hospital. When he arrived at the hospital, he paid the cab driver and went inside. He found out where Noah was and went up. When he got up there, Olivia was in with Noah. She saw Hank through the window and came out.
"Thank you so much for coming."
"No problem. You know I would do anything for you."
Olivia wrapped her arms around Hank and kissed him.
"I love you."
"I love you too. How's he doin'?"
"He's not out of the woods yet and he's just so little and helpless. I wish there was more I could do for him. Lucy has been here as much as she can."
"Whatever either of you need, I'm here."
"Thank you. I added you to the list of people who can be in with him."
"Ok. How long has it been since you last slept?"
"I don't know. Hank, I'm pregnant."
"You sure?"
"I had it confirmed. I love you, Hank and I can't do this on my own. I don't even know what I was thinking when I agreed to do take Noah. I love him though.
"I love you too and you won't have to do this alone. How far along are you?"
"15 weeks, so it happened around Christmas."
"What does what's goin' on with Noah affect you?"
" I contacted my doctor when I found out Noah had been exposed and she said if I've been vaccinated, which I have, I should be ok but I still need to make sure I don't get sick. I've been feeling ok though but she said if I start with a fever or a cough, then I need to come in."
"Ok. If you start feelin' sick and I'm not here, I want you to call me or have someone else call me and I will come take care of you."
"You don't have to do that."
"Yeah, I do. You don't need to go through this by yourself. I get you have Lucy to help with Noah while you're at work but if we're eventually gonna be a family, then I need to take care of both of you. Too much stress isn't good for you or the baby."
"I know it's not. I've never had this in a relationship before. I'm not used to being spoiled."
"I just wanna be around for as much of this as I can."
"And I want you to be here for all this."
"Have you told your squad yet?"
"No but I've been spending more time at the Precinct unless it's hospital visits. I know I'm going to have to tell them, since I'm going to start showing pretty soon. I wanted you to know before I told anyone else."
"Then we have some decisions to make."
"I know we do."
Olivia showed Hank where to put his stuff and then they went to see Noah. After their shift, Olivia's squad came to the hospital. Olivia saw them, so they came out of the room.
"Hey."
"Hey. Hey, Voight. We're surprised to see you."
"You'll probably be seeing a lot more of him. We've been involved since that first case we worked on."
"Liv, that's great! I'm happy for you."
"Me too."
"I am too."
"Same with me."
"Thanks."
"Why don't you two go grab a bite to eat?"
"You sure?"
"Yeah. We ate on the way here. Take your time."
"Thanks."
They took Hank's stuff and they left to get something to eat, while Amanda, Fin, Nick and Carisi took turns being in with Noah. By the time they got back, Lucy was there and in with Noah but Amanda, Fin, Nick and Carisi were still there.
"I need to tell you something."
"What's goin' on, Liv."
"I'm pregnant."
"Wow! Liv, Congratulations!"
"Thanks, Amanda."
"How far along are you?"
"15 weeks. I wanted to tell Hank before I told all of you."
"That is understandable. I'm happy for you, baby girl."
"Thanks, Fin."
"Me too, Liv."
"Thanks, Nick."
"Congratulations, Sarge!"
"Thanks, Carisi."
"What are you two gonna do?"
"Hank said he wants to adopt Noah with me."
"You gonna get married?"
"We haven't discussed it yet. I just told him about this too, so we need to decide what we're going to do. Is he going to transfer here or am I transferring to Chicago? He'd like to talk to Erin and Justin before he makes a decision that will impact the two of them as well."
"That does make sense."
"Have you met Justin?"
"I have and we get along pretty well."
"I'm guessin' if I come here, Erin may wanna come too. She would love nothin' more than to work with you if you have the room for her. I'm guessing she would have to consider Halstead in her decision though."
"I understand that."
"I'm guessin' it'll be me that relocates. Dawson is completely capable of takin' over. I would have to find somethin' though."
"I'll ask around. The same type of thing? Our Intelligence Unit is a little different than yours. It actually involves traveling outside the country."
" I don't think I would like that too much. Probably Organized Crime, Homicide, Hostage Negotiation or Gang Unit. I was with the Gang Unit before I took over Intelligence. We deal with organized crime, sexual assaults, homicides, kidnappings, drug cartels."
"If you're ok with relocating, I'll ask around. Lieutenant Tucker is in charge of IAB, so you will need to be on your best behavior."
"For you, anything. You have my word on that. I wanna be a better father to Noah and this baby than I ever was to Justin and Erin."
"I get it. I hope Lucy will want to stay on once the baby comes."
Lucy came out of the room.
"He's sleeping."
"Good. Have they checked on him lately?"
"No."
"I need to ask you something."
"Ok."
"I recently found out that I'm pregnant and I wanted to know if you will want to stay on once the baby comes. Hank said he will more than likely be transferring here."
"I would love to. You know I love taking care of Noah."
"He's also heading into the terrible twos. The baby is due sometime in late September or early October."
"I will be more than happy to take care of both of them."
"Good. Thank you for being here."
"You're welcome."
"Can you come back in the morning?"
"Of course."
"Thanks."
Lucy went to get her stuff and then she left. Amanda, Nick, Fin and Sonny all left and then Hank and Olivia went into the room. The doctor came in and checked on him. His breathing was getting better.
"If you want to go to my apartment to get some sleep, you can."
"I actually slept on the plane. Maybe you should go home and get some sleep."
"I don't want to leave him."
"I'm here. If I'm gonna be he dad, then I need to spend time alone with him. You and the baby need some sleep."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Olivia said goodnight to Noah, kissed Hank and went home. Hank sat down next to Noah.
"Night, kiddo."
When Olivia got home, she noticed she had a call from Erin, so she called her back.
"Hey, Liv."
"Hey. You called?"
"Yeah. I just wanted to see how Noah was."
"He's hanging in there. They're watching him for pneumonia but so far, so good. His breathing is getting better."
"That's good. How are you holdin' up?"
"I'm hanging in there. Hank sent me home, so I can get some sleep."
"Good. I also wanted to ask you something."
"What do you need to ask me?"
"Are you looking for any new detectives?"
"It wouldn't hurt. I already have the 4 of them but I've been staying at the Precinct more unless it's to do hospital visits."
"Is everything ok?"
"I'm sure he won't be upset if I tell you."
"Who? Dad?"
"Yeah. Hank and I are having a baby."
"No way!"
"Yep. I'm pretty sure it happened around Christmas or New Year's because I'm at 15 weeks. I'm pretty sure he wants to tell Justin himself."
"That is so awesome! Congratulations!"
"Thanks. I wanted to tell Hank before I told anyone else and then I told my squad and Lucy. It sounds like he's willing to relocate. He seemed to think you'd want to come here too. What about you and Jay?"
"I told him what I was planning and he said if that's really what I want, then we will try to be long distance for now. He's not sure he's ready to leave Chicago with his brother Will recently coming back. I love Dad too but I think I would have come out there whether he was there or not. A part of me doesn't wanna work with him anymore because he's my dad."
"I can see that."
"Are you two planning to get married?"
"He hasn't mentioned anything yet but he did say he'd like to adopt Noah with me. What about Nadia?"
"She said she'd be ok with me leaving. Jay said he'd look out for her. She applied for the Police Academy."
"That's great. I will talk to Chief Dodds and find out if it's ok to get another detective. I need to tell him about me anyway. I need to inquire about any openings for Hank as well."
"Ok. I should let you get some sleep."
"I am getting pretty tired."
"Goodnight, Liv."
"Goodnight, Erin."
Olivia hung up and got ready for bed. She came out of the bathroom and put her phone on the charger. She got into bed, turned the light off, rubbed her belly and fell asleep.
The next morning, Olivia woke up and went to get ready. Once she was ready, she sent a message to Chief Dodds about any possible openings for Hank and Erin transferring to SVU. She then left for the hospital. Noah was awake but Hank was still asleep. Noah smiled when he saw her.
"Mama!"
"Hello, my sweet boy!"
"Dada!"
Olivia smiled when he referred to Hank as Dada. Then the nurse came in.
"His vitals are looking better."
"I'm glad to hear that."
"It might still be a few days though."
"I understand that. I just want to take him home."
"I can understand that. No parent ever wants to have to deal with something like this."
"I feel like it's my fault for not getting him vaccinated but it was his pediatrician's decision because of other health issues he's had."
"Don't blame yourself. The doctor will be in to see him in a little while."
"Thanks."
The nurse left and then Olivia kissed Hank's forehead. He then woke up.
"Hey."
"Hey."
Olivia sat down on Hank's lap and kissed him. She leaned back as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Noah called you 'Dada'."
"He did?"
"He did. I talked to Erin last night and I told her about the baby. I said you wanted to tell Justin yourself."
"I'm fine with that."
"She said she wants to come out here and would whether you are or not. I guess she and Jay are going to try long distance for a while, since he's not sure he's ready to leave with Will recently coming back. Nadia is fine with her leaving and Jay said he would look out for her."
"I guess she really has thought about this."
"She asked if we're planning to get married and I said you never mentioned it. I don't want you to think we have to get married because of the baby. For all I know, you may not even be ready for that next step."
"It's been 5 years since Camille died and at one point, I didn't think I could deal with bein' in another relationship and I really didn't want to because I didn't want to have to deal with that pain again. The thing is, I'm never gonna stop lovin' her but I wouldn't consider leavin' Chicago for just anyone. I think she wanted me to move on and even Justin, who was close to his mother, told me it was ok to open my heart to someone else. He definitely likes you hopes the two of you can spend more time together after their son is born. The moment you came into my life and threatened to arrest me, I knew how I felt about you and for the first time, I realized I was ready to move on. As far as marriage is concerned, I told Justin that I wanted him and Olive to be married before my grandson was born. I feel the same way about us but I wanna to marry you because I love you and not just because of our baby.
"I don't expect you to stop loving Camille just because you're with me. You deserve to have your memories of her especially days that were important like her birthday, your anniversary or Mother's Day. I want to be married to you too."
"I don't have a ring right now but will you marry me?"
"Yes, Hank, I will marry you."
Olivia kissed Hank.
"How soon do we wanna do this? I do wanna talk to Justin about all this. I don't know if Olive can do much traveling this late in the pregnancy though."
"When is she due?"
"Towards the end of May. Maybe when Lucy gets here, I can grab a shower and we can get somethin' for breakfast before we go lookin' at rings."
"That sounds like a plan to me."
A little while later, Lucy arrived and then they went back to Olivia's apartment. Hank took a shower and then they made love. They got dressed and then they went to grab breakfast before they went to look at engagement rings. Hank let Olivia pick out the one she liked and he ended up buying the matching wedding bands as well. When they got back into the SUV, Hank asked her again and when she accepted, again, he put the ring on her finger. They kissed and then they headed back to the hospital. Before they arrived, Justin had called Hank, so he told him what was going on. He said he was happy for them and couldn't wait for his new brother or sister to be born. He was also excited for Olivia and Noah to become a part of the family. He asked when they planned to get married and Hank said he was going to adopt Noah with her, so they would probably end up getting married before the adoption. They didn't necessarily want to exclude them but knew Olive wouldn't be able to travel much. Justin said if he had to come by himself, he would. Hank ended the call and then they walked into the hospital hand in hand.
"Do you just wanna go to Vegas or something?"
"That sounds wonderful! I just want to get this over with but maybe we should wait until you get ready to transfer here, so we can start our lives together in the same city instead of long distance. I haven't heard back from Chief Dodds but hopefully I will soon. They got up to the PICU and Olivia got a message from Chief Dodds, so she called him, while Hank went in to see Noah.
"How's he doin'?"
"He's doing good. His vitals are still looking good."
"Good."
Noah saw Hank.
"Dada!"
"Hey there, little buddy!"
"Mama!"
"Your mama will be here in a few minutes. She's on the phone."
Olivia got Hank to come out into the hallway.
"Can you talk to them on Monday?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Ok. He wants to meet with Erin then too and I have to be there for that."
"What's it for?"
"Organized Crime Control Bureau. Would you consider taking the Lieutenant's exam? I've actually been approached about it too."
"If I take it in Chicago, does that count?"
Olivia asked Chief Dodds if it would count if Hank took the Lieutenant's exam in Chicago and he said it would.
"Yes."
"I'll see if they are offerin' it in Chicago any time soon."
Olivia told Chief Dodds he was interested and he would be there Monday. She made sure Chief Dodds knew that she and Hank were in a relationship and that she would be on desk duty effective immediately. Once she hung up with Chief Dodds, she sent Erin a message asking if she could come talk to her and Chief Dodds on Monday. Hank made a call to his Commander to see if they were offering the Lieutenant's exam any time soon and if they were, he wanted to take it. They both went in to see Noah, while Lucy waited out in the hall. The doctor came back and told them that things were looking much better for Noah and he should be able to go home in a few days. Erin had texted Olivia back to say she would be there on Sunday. Hank had heard back from his Commander that they were having a Lieutenant's exam and he would be signed up for it.
The rest of the weekend went quickly. Erin had come in on Sunday and Hank picked her up. Hank told Erin they were engaged and she was happy for them. Hank called Antonio to let him know what was going on and that Erin was planning to leave Chicago as well but he wanted to talk to everyone else himself. Hank also told him that he was planning to take the Lieutenant's exam before he left and suggested that he might want to take the Sergeant's exam. Antonio was fine with taking over and taking the Sergeant's exam. He said hoped he and Olivia would be very happy. They headed to the hospital, so Erin could spend some time with Noah. Olivia told Erin she could sleep on the sofa.
On Monday, Hank met with whoever was over OCCB and Erin met with Chief Dodds and Olivia in Olivia's office. Hank had arrived before Erin was done but the rest of the squad was gone. They were about done and Olivia had seen Hank come in, so she went to get him. They went back into her office.
"Hank, this is Chief William Dodds. Chief, this is Sergeant Hank Voight from the Chicago Police Department."
"Nice to meet you, Sergeant."
"You too."
"How'd it go?"
"Fine. They said the job was mine if I wanted it, which of course I said I did and I take the Lieutenant's exam next week."
"Ok. How much time are you giving them?"
"Probably a couple weeks. Dawson already knows about it."
"I'm surprised you haven't told Olinsky yet."
"I'm gonna tell him and Platt tonight. I want them to hear it before everyone else does."
"When are you talking to your Commander?"
"Probably tomorrow before I talk to everyone."
"We would like to start the transfer for Detective Lindsay. Who do we need to contact?"
"Right now, I'm her Commanding Officer but she is also my daughter. We didn't know that until the last 6 months or so. Her mother isn't good about tellin' the truth but we did a DNA test."
"Sergeant Benson was aware of this?"
"Yes, I was."
"A part of me didn't wanna work with him because of that."
"I can see why and I don't blame you."
"I can see that. My son is with the NYPD and he hates when I get involved in what he does."
"I have not let my Commander know what's goin' on yet but once I do, I will let Olivia know."
"Ok. That works."
Chief Dodds left and headed back to his office.
"What time is your flight?"
"Early afternoon. I'll let you know when I get home."
"Good."
"I still need to get my stuff, so can I take your SUV and bring it back?"
"Yeah. I can take you to the airport. I'll probably stop to see Noah anyway. You're coming back this weekend to go look at places?"
"Yep. Maybe we should consider havin' Erin move in with us for now."
"I was actually thinking about that, since she will have to find a place anyway. What do you think, Erin?"
"When is your lease at the current place up?"
"It's actually up soon. I'll start looking. Erin, you're welcome to come with us."
"I might just do that."
"We probably need room when Justin and his family come to visit."
"Ok. We may need to consider one of the other boroughs."
"You know the area. Erin, would you be able to come help me pack?"
"Sure."
"I may need to have Justin come up and see what he wants. We need to go get our stuff."
Hank kissed Olivia and then he and Erin went to her apartment to get their stuff. They made a quick trip to the hospital to see Noah and then they went to get Olivia at the Precinct. Erin called her when they got there and then she came outside. When she got into her vehicle, Hank told her they stopped to see Noah and she was glad for that. He drove to the airport and then when they arrived, they all got out after Olivia told Hank to put her lights on. Hank got the bags out, while Erin hugged Olivia. Then Hank went to say goodbye to her. He wrapped his arms around her and held her.
"We will see you at the end of the week."
"Ok. I love you."
"I love you too."
"Let me know when you get home."
"I will."
Hank kissed her and then he grabbed both bags. He and Erin went inside and Olivia headed to the hospital to see Noah. Hank and Erin got checked in before they went through security and headed to the gate. A couple hours later, the flight to Chicago took off.
A couple hours later, they arrived in Chicago. They went to get their stuff and then they headed home. Once ank walked in the door, he let Olivia know he was home. He had a little bit of time before he was meeting Al and Trudy. He left to meet them for dinner. When he arrived, he went inside to wait. When they arrived, they went in.
"Hey."
"Hey."
They got their table and sat down. They then had their order taken.
"What's goin' on?"
"I wanted you two to hear this before I tell everyone else although I'm pretty sure Halstead and Nadia know and Dawson already knows. I'm leavin' Chicago and so is Erin."
"What?"
"This last trip to New York turned out to be life changin' for me."
"How's Noah?"
"He's doin' better and she should be able to take him home this week."
"Does this change have anything to do with Olivia and Noah?"
"Yeah, it does. Olivia and I are havin' a baby and Noah has already started to call me 'Dada'. After Camille died, I didn't see myself goin' through all this again and honestly, I didn't want to. When I met Olivia, I fell for her just like I did with Camille. Justin likes her, which actually surprised me but even he said I need to move on."
"Are you two gettin' married?"
"We are. I interviewed for a position and they said it was mine if I wanted it. Erin is transferrin' to SVU."
"What does that mean for her and Halstead?"
"They're gonna try the long distance thing for a while and see how that goes. She said Nadia was ok with it too and Halstead said he'd look out for her. I guess she was plannin' on goin' out there whether I was or not. Erin and I are goin' out there at the end of the week, so we can all go lookin' at bigger places. Erin is gonna be movin' in with us. Olivia is gonna start lookin' for places and said we may want to consider the other boroughs, I told her she knows the area. Erin is gonna come help me pack and I need to find out from Justin if there is anything he wants."
"Congratulations, Hank! I'm really happy for you!"
"Me too, man!"
"Thanks."
"How far along is she?"
"About 16 weeks. She didn't wanna tell anyone until she told me. She told her squad and Erin and I told Justin."
"How did Justin take it?"
"He's thrilled."
"Good."
"What are you gonna be doin' out there?"
"I interviewed to take over the Organized Crime Control Bureau. Olivia said their Intelligence Unit does a lot of travelin' outside the country and I said I probably wouldn't be too thrilled with that. The thing I wouldn't want would be to be gone and have Olivia go into labor. I don't want to miss this. I need to be there for her through as much of this as I can and I need to be there for Noah. I'm actually glad that Erin will be with her all day and can keep an eye on her. Not that I don't trust her squad because I do. They didn't even know about us. I told Olivia that I wanna adopt Noah with her too."
"When do you start?"
"I'm givin' CPD two weeks' notice, so the end of next week. I'm takin' the Lieutenant's exam, since they did ask. We talked about goin' to Vegas or somethin' like that and just gettin' it over with. I want to include Olive too but she can't fly after 36 weeks or somethin' like that. I do wanna go down once Olive has the baby, so we can meet him. If we do the Vegas thing, we could have a reception or somethin' for everyone later probably once we get settled in our new place."
They got their appetizers and then they talked some more. Their food arrived and after Hank paid the bill, they all left. As soon as Hank got home, he called Olivia and they talked for a little while. Once he hung up with Olivia, he called Justin. They talked for a while before they both went to bed.
The next morning, Hank got up and got ready. He went to see his Commander before heading to the District. He called Olivia on the way. When he arrived, he went upstairs.
"Hey, Boss."
"Hey."
Hank went into his office and took his jacket off. Jay went into his office.
"Hey. Can we talk?"
"Yeah. Shut the door."
Jay shut the door.
"Erin told me. Congratulations!"
"Thanks. I know she said she was plannin' to go out there even before she knew I was."
"Yeah, I know. It makes sense for her to be where her family is."
"I still don't trust Bunny even though she finally came clean to me about me bein' Erin's dad."
"I think Bunny is part of the reason she wants to leave Chicago."
"Can't blame her for that."
"I can't either."
"Did she tell you she's gonna be livin' with us?"
"She did."
"You can come visit whenever you want."
"Thanks."
The two of them went back out to the bullpen.
"I have somethin' I need to say. Effective the end of next week, I'm transferrin' to the NYPD."
"What? Why?"
"Olivia and I are havin' a baby and are plannin' to get married."
"Oh, wow! Congratulations!"
"Thanks."
"I'm leavin' too and I was plannin' to go even before I knew he was."
"Oh, wow!
"So, how's Noah?"
"He's doin' better. She should be able to take him home in a few days. He has already started to call me 'Dada'. Erin, I called Olivia on my way here and she will make the call to Chief Dodds about gettin' your transfer started. I talked to Justin last night and they will come in this weekend to go through stuff. I said we were headin' to New York again to look at places, so neither of us would be there. If they drive up, they can take whatever they want back with them. I told him if he has somethin' big that he wants to take back with him to call someone from the squad to help him move it. He said he would."
"No big deal. We're more than happy to help."
"Thanks. I appreciate that."
"Is Dawson takin' over?"
"That's the plan."
"When is your last day?"
"Next Friday."
They got a call and headed out. The day went quickly. Hank ordered Chinese for him and Erin and then they started packing. Olivia called as soon as she was home and they talked for a little while. A couple days later, Olivia brought Noah home. Al and Trudy had come over to help Hank pack and Erin had also packed her stuff as well. By the end of the week, they headed to New York, so the 3 of them could go looking at places. They found a place they liked in Queens and then Hank and Olivia made an offer on it. The 4 of them spent the rest of the weekend together as a family. Justin and Olive had come up and went through his stuff.
The following week, Hank had taken the Lieutenant's exam and Olivia had taken hers too. Hank had finished packing and had put the house on the market. By the end of the week, the squad and Trudy had wanted to have a party for both Hank and Erin. They even invited Olivia and Justin and Olive. Everyone was coming. Olivia worked for a few hours and then she and Noah left for Chicago. When the flight from New York arrived in Chicago, Olivia got the bags and went to get the rental. She put Noah in his seat and headed to the District. When they arrived, she parked and went inside.
"Hey, Olivia."
"Hey."
"This must be Noah."
"Yes. This is Noah. Noah, this is Trudy. Can you say hi?"
Noah hid in Olivia's neck.
"How's he doin'?"
"He's doing great."
"And how are you feeling?"
"I'm doing pretty good."
Then Justin and Olive came in.
"Hey, Olivia. Hey, Noah."
"Hey, you two!"
Olivia hugged both Olive and Justin.
"How are you feeling, Olive?"
"Not too bad."
"How's my baby brother or sister?"
"So far, so good. I have an appointment in a few weeks to find out what it is and whether your dad wants to know or not, I want to know."
"That's great. Let us know when you know."
"We will."
Justin took Noah from Olivia.
"How you feelin', kiddo?"
Noah smiled at Justin.
"He's doing much better and he was so good on the plane."
"Good. Do they even know we're comin'?"
"I don't think so. They're gone anyway. When are they starting their new jobs?"
"They both start a week from Monday. We put a bid on a place and it was accepted. I just heard about that this morning."
"You'll all be livin' in your apartment in the meantime?"
"Erin is planning to stay with Amanda until we move. Amanda offered and called Erin herself. We close in June, so that won't interfere with us going down to meet the newest member of the family."
"What kind of place are you buyin'?"
"We're getting a 5-bedroom house in Queens."
Olivia pulled the house up on her phone and showed it to Justin and then Trudy.
"That's nice."
"There is a finished attic including full bathroom, so that'll be Erin's space and there is also a finished basement with a full bath as well. We may have that be the guest room. The laundry is on the main level off the kitchen. The current owners did a complete remodel in the last year or so. We still have a couple months to figure out how we want to do stuff. Most of what Hank gets for his house will go towards the mortgage. This is my first time owning something."
"We can't wait to see it. If you need help movin', we'll come up and help."
"That's good to know. By then I'll be useless anyway."
"Kind of like I am now."
"Are you ok to do the Vegas trip?"
"I'm 6 weeks away, so my doctor ok'd it. I saw her yesterday."
"Did you drive up?"
"We flew. We'll fly back to Nashville from Vegas but we're only plannin' to stay until Sunday."
"Erin is planning to do the same thing. She's heading to New York with Noah and then Hank and I are going to spend a few more days out there.
"Does Hank suspect anything?"
"No. Erin, Justin and I arranged this on our own. Hank didn't want to start right away and since I'm Erin's Boss, I told her I didn't care when she started. We had talked about going to Vegas to get married but I know he wanted to include the family and I did too. I need to start getting the paperwork ready to finalize the adoption and he said he wanted to adopt him with me. It probably makes things easier if we're married. Once we're settled, we will invite everyone to come see the new house."
"That sounds like a plan."
Most of the people from Intelligence came upstairs but Hank and Erin were not with them.
"Hey."
"Hey, guys. Where are Hank and Erin?"
"They went to Headquarters. Thanks for including me with the Vegas trip."
"You're welcome."
"Hank and I haven't always seen eye to eye he knows I love Erin. I think we started getting along a little better since they found out she was his daughter."
"He said he knows how you feel about her and he said he invited you to come stay with us any time."
"He did. Hey, kiddo."
Noah hid in Justin's shoulder. They all went upstairs and then they did their paperwork, while everyone else went to wait in Hank's office. Noah went to sit in Hank's chair. A little while later, Hank and Erin came back. Hank went into his office and saw Noah.
"Noah!"
"Dada!"
"Hey, Honey."
"Hey, Pop."
"Hi Hank."
"My whole family is here."
Hank went to kiss Olivia and then he hugged Justin and Olive.
"I got a call this morning. Our offer was accepted on the house."
"Good. I'm glad to hear that. So, what brings my family here?"
Erin came in and hugged everyone. She then sat down in one of the chairs.
"Well, we have a surprise for you."
"I hate surprises."
"You didn't hate when I told you about the baby."
"That was a good surprise."
"This is too. Erin, Justin and I arranged for the entire family to fly to Vegas this weekend, so we can make it official. We just need to go pick up the license when we get there."
"You are a sneaky one, Olivia Benson."
"I know and that's why you love me. Erin is taking Noah back to New York on Sunday and Justin and Olive are heading back on Sunday as well. We are sticking around a few days."
"Ok, then. So, when do we leave?"
"We have a 7 o'clock flight. Jay is coming with us.
"I don't have anything I can wear."
"I took care of that."
"You did, huh?"
"Yep."
They came in with the cake.
"What's this for?"
"You didn't think we were gonna let you two leave without somethin', did you?"
"I guess not."
Noah's eyes lit up when he saw the cake.
"Look at him!"
"Yeah, he loves cake."
Everyone had cake and celebrated Hank and Erin. Olivia had to make sure Noah didn't get it all over himself. The squad had given them both gift cards. After a while, they headed to the airport for their flight. They grabbed something to eat before they went to the gate to wait for the flight to take off. A couple hours later, the flight took off. When the flight arrived in Vegas, they got off the plane and went to get their stuff. Then they took the shuttle to the hotel. They got checked in and then Olivia and Hank went to get their marriage license. Once they got it, they went back to the hotel and got ready. They met everyone else and went to one of the wedding chapels. Hank and Olivia got married and then everyone went back to the hotel. Noah stayed with Erin and Jay, so Hank and Olivia could have some time alone.
The next day, they did stuff as a family and then on Sunday, everyone but Hank and Olivia left. They stayed a few more days. Once they headed back to New York, they began their new life together. Both Hank and Erin started their new jobs the following week.
Olivia had her appointment to find out the sex of the baby. They were both excited to find out they were having a healthy baby boy. As soon as they knew, they let the kids know. Justin said he hoped the boys would be close and Hank and Olivia agreed.
In just a few weeks, Hank had gotten offers on his house. He picked one and accepted it. Olive gave birth to Daniel and the rest of the family went down to meet him. Hank and Olivia had been approved to start finalizing the adoption. Olivia had told Trevor about Johnny D being Noah's biological father and then all the headaches started. Johnny was trying to prevent his son from being adopted. Hank didn't want Olivia getting stressed out since it wasn't good for her or their unborn son, so he attended the trial with her. During the trial though, Johnny D had started shooting up the courtroom, so Hank got Olivia out of there before something happened to her or the baby. Johnny D ended up being killed by Nick and then Hank and Olivia were able to make it official with Noah. They had everyone, including Hank's former squad there to celebrate afterwards. They also celebrated Hank and Olivia's marriage.
The next several months went quickly. Hank and Olivia had both passed their respective Lieutenant's exams. They closed on their house and Hank's house in Chicago sold. They moved into the new place and once they were settled, Erin and Amanda had a baby shower for Olivia. Everyone from Chicago came in for it as did Justin, Olive and Daniel. Amanda had found out she was pregnant as well. Hank was spending quite a bit of time working on the nursery.
By the end of her pregnancy, Olivia was becoming uncomfortable. It was a Friday afternoon when she and Amanda were the only ones at the Precinct. Justin, Olive and Daniel had decided to come in for the weekend, so they had arrived at SVU and went up. Amanda was in Olivia's office. They walked to the office and stood in the doorway.
"Hey, Olivia."
"Hey."
Olivia got up and went over to them. She hugged both of them and kissed Daniel on the head.
"Hey, Amanda."
"Hey."
"How are you both feelin'?"
"I want this over with. It could be any time now. My back is killing me and my contractions have started. Have you been to the house yet?"
"Yeah. We were plannin' to leave Daniel with Lucy and Noah but they weren't at the house when we got there."
"She was taking him to the park or something."
"That'll do it. How about you, Amanda?"
"I'm doin' ok but lookin' forward to it bein' over with though."
Then Hank came in.
"Hey."
"Hey, Pop."
"Hey, Hank."
Hank went over to kiss Olivia and then he hugged Justin and Olive before he kissed Daniel's head. He then started rubbing Olivia's belly.
"You want somethin' for lunch?"
"Maybe but my contractions have started. My water hasn't broken yet though."
"You wanna come too, Rollins?"
"Sure."
They all left and went to get something for lunch. Olivia had gone into the washroom and her water broke.
"Uh oh!"
She finished up in the bathroom and managed to get back to the table.
"Honey, my water just broke."
The food arrived and they already asked for containers to take it with them. Hank asked Amanda if she wanted to go back to the Precinct and she said she would go to the hospital with them. Hank drove to the hospital and then they took Olivia in to be admitted. She was taken to a room. Hank stayed with her while everyone else went to the waiting room. Amanda texted Fin to let him know that Olivia was in labor and Justin had texted Lucy. Lucy replied and said she would come to the hospital and get Daniel for them. Justin thanked her and then they sat and waited. Hank contacted his Sergeant and said Olivia was in labor, so he would not be back. When Fin, Nick, Erin, Sonny and Mike were done with their case, they went to the hospital. Lucy and Noah had gotten there and had gone back to the house with Daniel. She said she would stay as long as they needed her to be there. They were grateful and they would keep her updated. Erin had texted Jay to let him know that Olivia was in labor and he said to keep him posted. He would let everyone know.
As things progressed, everyone went out to eat in shifts, including Hank. None of them wanted to go home, since they were all looking forward to meeting the new baby, even Mike, who had only known Olivia for a short time. Even Ed Tucker and Trevor Langan showed up at the hospital. Don, Munch and Melinda were there as well. The group from Chicago decided to head to New York to meet Baby Voight.
Shortly after 3 am on Saturday morning, Logan Henry Voight had come into the world. He weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces and measured 19 inches long. After they moved Olivia back to her room, Hank took Logan to the waiting room. He was expecting to see his kids but much to his surprise, everyone was there. Mostly everyone was asleep except for Fin, Ed and Melinda. Olive had gone to the house to stay with Noah and Daniel.
"When did they get here?"
"Probably around midnight. We all stuck around. This is a big moment for Liv. She has wanted this for a long time. I'm glad she's finally happy."
"She really is."
"Everyone, wake up!"
Everyone woke up and saw Hank holding the baby.
"This is Logan Henry. He weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces and measured 19 inches long."
"Pop, he's perfect."
"Yeah, he is but I might be biased. Where's Olive?"
"She went to the house to stay with Noah and Daniel. She also sent Lucy home. Can I hold him?"
"Sure."
Hank handed Logan to Justin.
"Hey, Logan. I'm your big brother Justin."
"And I am your big sister Erin."
After Justin held him, he gave him to Erin. Melinda and Trudy held him as well and then Hank took him back to Olivia. Everyone pretty much headed home or to their hotel to get some sleep.
"How many people are here?"
"Erin, Justin, Don, Munch, Melinda, Ed, Trevor, the rest of your squad and my former squad, including Nadia and Trudy. Olive is at the house with the other two. I guess the group from Chicago got here about midnight. Justin, Erin, Melinda and Trudy are the only ones that held him."
"I'd like to hold him."
Hank put Logan in Olivia's arms. Hank got on the bed with Olivia and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her and then he kissed Logan on his forehead.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Olivia fell asleep with Logan in her arms and then Hank dozed off as well. A few hours later, Logan wanted to eat, so Olivia nursed him for the first time. Hank had woken up, so once Logan was done eating, Hank took him and Olivia fell back to sleep in the chair. He fell asleep again too. Later that morning, Olive brought Noah to meet his new brother and some of the others had come back as well. Hank had contacted his Sergeant about the baby being born, so he would be off for the next week.
Sunday afternoon the group from Chicago and Justin, Olive and Daniel headed home and on Monday Olivia and Logan were released from the hospital. Olivia loved how much her life had changed in the last almost year since she met Hank. She loved being a wife and mother and she also loved both Justin and Erin like they were her own. She was glad that Justin had been there when Logan came into the world. After they had gotten home, Justin and Olive called her everyday to check on her and Logan. Her squad and friends came over as often as they could as well and once Hank went back to work, Don and Munch came to spend time with her and the boys even though Lucy was around. Olivia was grateful for everyone in her life.
