Oscorp Industries building, a certain studio.

Ye Hai was sitting upright in his chair, staring straight ahead. In front of him was a desk, behind which sat the interviewer. The interviewer was a middle-aged man with a stern face, dressed in a white coat. What stood out was that his right arm was missing.

This man was Dr. Curt Connors, the Lizard from Spider-Man. Today was Ye Hai's final interview. If he impressed Dr. Connors, he would be accepted as his assistant at Oscorp.

A month ago, Ye Hai had crossed over into this Marvel universe, becoming a graduate in Biological Sciences from Harvard University. The boy he inhabited was a twenty-year-old of Chinese descent, also named Ye Hai, and he bore a striking resemblance to his original self. This resemblance led him to believe that his crossover was no mere coincidence; there must be some powerful entity that granted him this incredible journey to a parallel world.

"Are you Ye Hai?" Dr. Connors asked, glancing at Ye Hai's resume. "A top student from Harvard University's Biological Sciences program... I've reviewed your profile and some of your papers. You have some interesting ideas on gene fusion, which is why you were able to interview with me."

"Thank you for your appreciation, Dr. Connors. I have read many of your papers and books, and I am very interested in your ideas about incorporating animal genes into the human body," Ye Hai replied with a slight smile, trying to appear both polite and natural. "While humans possess intelligent minds, our physical capabilities are somewhat lacking. If we could extract and integrate the specialized traits of animal genes into humans, it could lead to a transformation, making humanity more perfect. Of course, this could also resolve many shortcomings in humans, such as your…"

Ye Hai's gaze paused at Dr. Connors' right arm.

Dr. Connors didn't mind Ye Hai's focus on his disability; instead, he displayed a look of interest and said, "Oh? Which animal's gene do you think would be suitable for repairing my arm?"

"A lizard!" Ye Hai answered without hesitation.

Dr. Connors was momentarily taken aback. This viewpoint aligned perfectly with his own conclusion, one he had reached through complex calculations and experiments—conclusions he had only just formed. There was no way this young man could have obtained that information externally. Therefore, there was only one possibility: this young man had a deep understanding of animal genes and possessed a sharp mind.

With that thought in mind, Dr. Connors was already quite impressed with Ye Hai. Having navigated several challenges to reach this final interview, Dr. Connors had no doubts about Ye Hai's professional knowledge. What he was evaluating was the candidate's ability to think creatively. Ye Hai's mention of the lizard indicated a sufficiently agile mind.

Next, Dr. Connors asked a few more experimental questions—nothing overly technical, rather aimed at assessing a person's inspiration and insight.

Fortunately, the body Ye Hai inhabited had indeed been an academic star. Coupled with his own intelligence, he passed all of Dr. Connors' challenges.

Finally, Dr. Connors stood up and extended his remaining left hand, saying, "Congratulations, young man! I have high hopes for you, and you are officially hired!"

"Ding! The host has received the recognition of a renowned scientist, joined Oscorp Industries, and passed the system's evaluation. The Great Scientist System is now officially activated…"

"Is this my special ability?" Ye Hai's face lit up with joy. "So I have my own special ability—a Great Scientist System. That sounds related to my profession."

Dr. Connors smiled and said, "Alright, Ye, I know you're excited, but I need to interview a few more candidates. You should go report to the HR department now!"

Ye Hai quickly regained his composure, nodded with a smile, and replied, "Thank you, Dr. Connors! I'll be off now. Goodbye!"

"Goodbye, Ye! I hope we can work together happily!" Dr. Connors waved and sat back down.

After leaving the interview room, Ye Hai walked down the corridor, at which point he again heard the system's voice.

"Ding! The Great Scientist System has been successfully initialized. Hello, host! The system is sincerely at your service!"

"System, did you bring me to this Marvel world?" Ye Hai asked cautiously. "What exactly are you?"

"The host has been selected by this system to become a time-space immigrant. As for what this system is, the host currently lacks sufficient level and permissions!"

The system's voice was both crisp and pleasant, yet felt mechanical and cold, hinting at intelligence but with a high IQ.

"So what do you want me to do in this world?" Ye Hai asked, somewhat worried.

"The host's mission is to become a powerful scientist."

As Ye Hai conversed with the system, he walked down the corridor and then took the elevator down to HR, finishing some procedures. Afterward, the HR manager instructed him to come back to work in two days.
