Chapter V: Forming New Alliances

Part I: Alliance with the Hyuga

Uzumaki Compound

A couple of weeks later

Naruto walked out to the courtyard of the Uzumaki Compound. "Alright. I'm here. What is it you need?"

Minato and Kushina both stood across from him with prideful smiles on their faces.

Kushina began with a cheeky grin. "It is time to train you in the jutsu styles of both your father's clan and my clan. I've heard from Jiraiya that you mastered the Rasengan. Your father's technique. But you will need more than that to defeat Karin and her allies in the Akatsuki."

Naruto just nodded thoughtfully, "I see your meaning Mom. What am I going to be training in?"

Kushina smiled with a sly smirk and cracked her knuckles. "I will test your endurance and teach you how to utilize your immense chakra reserves better."

Minato then turned to her with a nervous smile. He knew firsthand what his wife was capable of. While she may not have the abilities of a Hokage…she proved to be more than a match for Konoha's enemies during their time as active duty shinobi. I hope Naruto is up to the challenge.

He then turned to Naruto with a cheerful smile. "And I will teach you how to utilize your speed, help you better your detection jutsus and as well as work on your chakra nature."

Naruto just nodded with a serious look. "I understand Dad. I'm ready."

Kushina then tilted her head at him and smiled, "Good. Let's get started.

Hyuga Compound

Two months later

Hinata sat there at the table. She was in a clan meeting with Hanabi, Hitomi, Hiashi, and Neji. The meeting had lasted for hours.

Hiashi smiled, "So you want to unite the Branch and the Main Families?"

Hinata smiled, "I do. It is a grave injustice to have the families separated by blood."

Hiashi smiled, "I tend to agree. Though you understand this will cause some measure of controversy in both Hyuga clans."

Hinata's lavender eyes then narrowed, "If any of the older family members have an... issue with this policy. They can take it up with me."

Hitomi smiled with pride. "You are indeed my daughter dear. I am proud of you."

Hinata smiled, "Thank you." She then sighed as she stood up from her seat. "I need a break. I'm going to go see what Naruto is doing."

Hiashi nodded, "I understand. Your mother and I will come with."

Hanabi smiled as she walked up to the three of them. "Yes. I'd like to see Naruto again.

Neji nodded with a smirk, "As would I."

Hiashi smiled, "We have business to discuss with Lady Kushina and Lord Fourth."

Hinata then hugged her father. "Thanks Father. I'm going to get changed." She then rushed off without a word.

Hitomi chuckled, "And there she goes…I am very proud of the woman she is becoming."

Hiashi put his arm around his wife, smiling, "Yes indeed."

Somewhere near the Uzumaki Compound

Later that night

Naruto was out of breath. He had been training all day with his parents. Specifically he had been learning some of his family's jutsu. His father had been teaching him the Flying Thunder God Technique. The technique was a high level jutsu and Minato did worry that his son wouldn't be up to the task but times demanded the upgrade in training. As he teleported from place to place, Naruto could feel himself getting tired, After a while, he teleported to the last location. Seeing his father with his back turned, he then threw one of the special kunai at tree in front of Minato and then put his hands together. "Flying Thunder God- Second Step!" He the disappeared into a puff of smoke.

Minato smirked as he saw the special kunai embedded into the tree in front of him. He's moving fast. Good. Very good. Suddenly, Naruto teleported behind his father with a Rasengan at the ready, "Got you!"

Minato smirked as he put his hands together forming his own Rasengan and turned around, countering it . The resulting explosion was big and sent both shinobi far away from one another.

Both of them quickly got to their feet panting hard.

Naruto was out of breath holding his arm. He caught me! I need to be more careful!

Minato just smirked holding his own arm, "Not bad Naruto! You are excelling quickly! I'm very proud!"

Kushina just beamed at both men before clapping happily. She beamed with pride as she walked up to both of them. She was dressed in her shinobi get-up and had her long dark-red hair tied behind her headband. "Very good Naruto! I'm so proud of you sweetie! You are almost as fast as your father now!"

Naruto grunted as he breathed heavily, "Not…fast enough."

Minato just chuckled with a half-grin, "Ah. You'll get the hang of it Naruto. Trust me. What I'm teaching you is two justus that are at the level of the Second Hokage himself. It took me years to master and refine them. Cut yourself some slack son."

Naruto grunted but gave his father a nod, "I understand Dad. I'll try harder next time." The young blonde shinobi then gave his father a bow.

Minato smiled and returned the gesture.

Kushina then squealed with glee. "Now it is time to see how far you've gotten with mine Naruto! Face me and bow!"

Naruto quickly turned to his mother and bowed respectfully.

She grinned and returned the gesture. She then threw a scroll. It unrolled revealing a variety of weapons. "Use the Weapon Seal justu I taught you."

Naruto nodded, "I understand." He then sat down near the unrolled scroll and placed his hands down. "Uzumaki Justu- Weapon Seal!" The scroll then went up in a huge puff of smoke. As it dissipated, what was left was a medium-sized scroll that had been rolled up.

Kushina then put her hands together and smiled with pride, "A perfect try! All that training really did pay off! My grandmother Mito would be so proud if she could see you now!"

Naruto nodded. He then suddenly fell to his knees panting. "I think I've used too much chakra."

Minato and Kushina both laughed. They then each put one of his arms around their shoulders. Kushina laughed, "We've got you."

Minato laughed as well, "That we do."

The two proud parents then helped walk him back into the compound.

Sometime later

Uzumaki Compound

The Uzumaki family was eating dinner when they heard a knock at the door.

Kushina called out suspiciously. It wasn't like them to get late night guests. "Who is it?"

Hinata's voice then pierced the quiet in the room. "Kushina. It's me Hinata. Is Naruto home?"

Kushina then just sent her son a wry smile. "Did you invite Hinata over? I thought we agreed to have some family time at dinner."

Naruto nervously cleared his throat, blushing, "I did not Mom. I promise."

Kushina just laughed and pinched his cheek, "Oh, sweetheart. You are adorable. It's fine if you did. She's practically family." She turned to the door, "Please come in, dear."

Hinata then smiled as she opened the door gently.

Hiashi, Hitomi and Hanabi were all behind her.

All three of them were dressed in lavender-colored kimonos.

Hinata smiled with a laugh as she bowed, "Apologies Lord Minato. Lady Kushina. We didn't mean to intrude."

Hiashi smiled as well bowing his head. "Yes. Apologies for the late interruption. I was hoping to discuss some clan business with you all."

Hitomi just smiled brightly and bowed her head, "Indeed."

Kushina just blinked at Hiashi but nodded thoughtfully. She then turned to Minato and smirked, "Think we have room for three more?"

Minato then gave her a smiling nod. "I believe we do."

Hinata, Hiashi and Hitomi and Hanabi stood aside from Naruto, Kushina and Minato.

Hiashi then searched his pocket and pulled out a long scroll. He rolled it out on the table. Kushina and Minato immediately noticed what kind of scroll it was.

Naruto just blinked in confusion at it. "I'm confused."

Kushina smiled, "A clan alliance scroll. Very crafty Hiashi."

Naruto blinked in confusion, "A clan…what?"

Minato and Kushina both laughed.

Kushina put an arm around him, turned to him and smiled, "An formal agreement between clans. A defensive agreement of sorts. Hiashi means to unite our clan's goals with those of his own."

Minato then slapped his son on the back. "Yup."

Hinata giggled as she playfully batted her eyes at Naruto. She then took his hands into hers and squeezed them. "It also means that our relationship will be legitimized in shinobi law. We will each be granted an equal status as a partner and member in each other's clans."

Naruto blinked at her as his face suddenly turned red. He shouted in surprise. "We're getting married?" The sudden outburst of the usually quiet blonde shinobi caused Hinata and everyone else to burst into laughter. She then took his hands into hers and looked him in the eyes adoringly. "No silly. We still have to go through the proper nuptials when we become of age. This…is more of a formality."

Naruto felt his heart calm down as he put a hand on his chest. "Oh..Oh…Okay. I panicked for a minute there. I don't even have a suit ready."

Hinata giggled as she smiled again at him. She then grabbed his face. "Well to be fair my love…I'd marry you even if all you had was your old track suit. You take my breath away in whatever you wear."

Hiashi then took out the lavender colored kunai and put it in her daughter's hand. It had the Hyuga family logo on the back and front.

Kushina just smirked. "Well…I didn't think I'd be using the old family kunai anytime soon but here we go." She then took out what looked like a kunai. The kunai was a maroon red color. It had the Uzumaki family crest on the back and front of it. She then placed it into Naruto's hand.

He turned to her confused. "Mom?"

She smiled back warmly and just lovingly ruffled his hair. "This is a special kunai used for signing contracts. I've kept it on me for years. It's yours now." He just stared at the kunai and blinked, "What do I do?"

Hinata then tilted her head at him and smiled sweetly at him. "Do as I do." She then took the kunai in her hand and cut her palm in half. Blood poured from the wound. Naruto followed along with his own kunai.

Hinata smiled and pressed her bleeding hand on her side of the scroll.

Naruto pressed his hand on his side.

The scroll glowed with blue chakra for a moment. It then went away.

Hinata then smiled as she held out her bleeding hand to Naruto. "Now to finalize the deal. Take my hand." He took her hand and shook it.

Hiashi just put his hands together and smiled, "And the Uzumaki-Hyuga alliance is finalized."

Kushina and Minato smiled at Hiashi and Hitomi.

Kushina smirked. "So it is."

Hinata then smirked as she let go of Naruto's hand, grabbed his face and smiled sweetly.

He grabbed hers and did the same.

Hiashi smirked. Those two are adorable.

Hitomi smiled warmly at her daughter. She really has grown up in so many ways.

Naruto blinked as they stared at each other for the moment. He blinked as he wiped some of her blood off his cheek. He then stared at his bloodied hand.

Hinata smirked. "Good. The blood oath is complete. My blood is on you. Your blood is on me."

Naruto blinked, "This was a blood oath?"

Hinata smiled sweetly at him. "Of course it was. That's what a blood oath is. A forming of an unbreakable bond. Now we will be together untiil we perish. Just how I like it."

Naruto just smiled and nodded. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Hiashi and Hitomi both pulled Naruto into a hug. Hiashi smiled, "Welcome to the Hyuga Clan Naruto! Hitomi and I are so happy to have you as our future son-in-law!"

Naruto just slowly hugged them back as he closed his eyes. "Thank you. I promise to defend Hinata with my life and my blood."

Hitomi smiled, "I know you will."

Kushina and Minato then hugged Hinata. "Welcome to the Uzumaki Clan! Minato and I are so happy to have you in our family!"

Hinata smiled with joy in her heart. "Thank you! I promise to defend Naruto with all my life and my blood!"

Kushina smiled, "I know you will."

Hanabi and Neji both engulfed Naruto in a deep hug.

Hanabi smiled, "Welcome to the family big brother! I've always wanted to call you that!"

Neji smiled, "Welcome to the family Naruto. Happy to have you."
