Sora had been the clerk for the SCHALE branch of Angel 24 for nearly a month now since the branch opened, which was also the same day that Sensei arrived in Kivotos. It wasn't too surprising that the SCHALE branch wouldn't be frequented by people at first, seeing as the branch was opened mostly for Sensei's convenience. Recently however, there has been an upswing of customers in the form of students from other schools visiting SCHALE.

With that said, it seems that today was another slow day in Angel 24, with a customer or two sometimes entering to buy some cup noodles or energy drinks. She was even spooked by what looks to be a student from SRT who just wanted to buy five boxes of bento.

Sora's still not sure how she missed her from entering the store, or when she even left. Then again, the girl was an elite from SRT, so in hindsight she shouldn't be too surprised.

"I'm still wondering where that shriek came from shortly after she left though…" Sora muttered as she checked the newly delivered supplies and took out some fresh meat and vegetables, before placing it inside the fridge behind the counter.

With the convenience store being devoid of customers to service, Sora ended up fiddling with her phone, looking up the latest scoops and rumors on social media, before opening a topic that caught her interest.

Which one? A lot of students carry huge guns.

Sora read a few more entries, but the initial topic was long forgotten as commenters devolved into senseless arguments with the thread eventually being locked by the mods.

Sora continued scrolling through her feed.

News: Rumbling in the ruins near Millennium

Sora was about to scroll down once more, but her hand stopped as her eyes hovered over a particular entry.

Rumor: SCHALE to open a restaurant?

"I heard Sensei mutter something about a restaurant last time. So the news already spread this much?" Sora wondered as she continued scrolling. "I wonder what Sensei is doing right now…"

Sometime after that, the familiar chime whenever the door slid open was heard.

"W-Welcome to Angel 24! How may I help you?" Sora mentally panicked as she hid the phone she was using just moments before. Though she sighed in relief when she saw who the customer was.

"Hey, Sora," Sensei said. "Can I have the usual?"

Sora nodded as she pulled out a few things from the fridge, including the meat and vegetables she placed earlier. "Fresh meat and vegetables, a box of energy drinks, and a bottle of tea, yes?"

Considering Sensei was her only frequent customer, she more or less memorized what it was he usually bought, though he occasionally adds a few extras.

"Oh, did you prepare this for me beforehand? Thank you, Sora." Sensei ruffled her head, causing Sora's cheeks to redden. She still finds it embarrassing whenever Sensei pats her head, but she doesn't mind.

If she were to be honest, she was actually looking forward to the headpats.

"I…I just thought that it'd be a waste to not use the fridge for your sake after you went out of your way to fix it," Sora muttered as Sensei smiled.

After Sensei paid for the items, he stayed for a few minutes, chatting with Sora and making sure that she's doing alright with her studies and daily life outside of Angel 24.

"Sensei, are the rumors that SCHALE will be opening a restaurant true?" Sora asked.

"Wow, word sure spreads fast," Sensei replied. "It's true. I was hoping to get in touch with the head of Angel 24 to see if they could supply the necessary ingredients."

"I-I'm not sure, I'll try to ask later," Sora said.

"Thank you, Sora. I'll be sure to make you a meal as thanks."

"Y-You don't have to!"

"Please, I insist. You've done a lot to help me. It doesn't sit well for me if I don't return the favor, as both your teacher and as a person," Sensei said.

"Well...Understood, Sensei. I'll look forward to it."

They decided for Sora to head upstairs after she clocks off from her shift so Sensei can cook for her.

Before long, Sensei had to return to his office upstairs.

As he stood in front of the door, Sensei's shoulders jerked a little as he looked over his shoulder. "One more thing Sora. You'll probably be getting an influx of customers in the near future, what with the restaurant's grand opening among other things."

Sora pondered a little at what he meant by the last part, but eventually realized what Sensei was getting at. "You mean the students from other schools, Sensei?"

"That's right," Sensei said with a smile. "I hope you'll get along with them too."

"I…I'll do my best, Sensei!"

Sora still hadn't decided whether she would continue attending high school in her current school or transfer to another one, so she was already looking forward to meeting her possible seniors to better weigh her options.
