Kaiju Fighters Ch. 19
The next morning, the team has been invited to have breakfast with the owner. They walk into a dining room that now has an extra table set out for the guests. The tables had all sorts of breakfast related food out and ready, from bacon and eggs to waffles with blue berries. Everyone takes a seat as Lily walks in with Kong behind her.
"Aloha, Everyone!" she takes a seat as did Kong right next to her. "I hope you'll enjoy your meal. Dig in!" Goro soon comes in and takes a random seat.
Halfway through the meal Lily notices that Goro barely touched anything on his plate. Not even bacon and he loves bacon.
"What's wrong, Goro?"
"It's…" he pauses as he sinks into his seat. "…Allie."
Manda explains, "She had a misunderstanding between me and Goro." as she starts to look as bad as Goro.
"Oh my! I hope the poor girl is alright." Kimiko says.
Goro sulks, "So do I."
Manda then notices that it's quiet. "Has anybody notice that it's too quiet?" looks around. "Where's Rodan?"
Kimiko turns to Gojira, "He never came back from last night?"
He just answers, "He probably found a tree to roost in and fell asleep."
The water dragon replies, "Sounds like something the birdbrain would do."
Goro gets up, "I think I'll call Allie's parents," heads to the phone, and dials the number. "Hey, Richard, it's Goro. I called to check on Allie," he pauses for a moment. "I'm sorry, sir but she isn't here," he turns back to everyone to everyone with a look of fear. "The last time I saw her was last night. I'll let you know as soon as I hear from her," and he hangs the phone up. "She never showed up at her parents' last night."
Manda is the first to stand up, "We should go out to find her!" she feels somewhat responsible for the situation.
"And we will," Kimiko says. "Manda, I want you and Goro head to town and talk to the locals to see if they heard or seen anything," she pointed to the two. "The forest is huge so, Gojira, you and Kong take one half the forest."
"What!?" Gojira says.
Kong raises his voice, "You can't be serious?!"
"Kong!" Lily looked at him with a cold glare. "We need to find Allie. So, for now the both of you need to get over any petty differences and work together," that same glare makes Gojira flinch slightly.
Both respond in unison, "Okay."
"Good!" Lily smiles and her eyes return their normal kindness. "I'll accompany Kimiko into the other half of the forest. Nobody knows it better than me."
Kimiko asks around, "Are we in an agreement?" Everyone nods. "Good! let's move out."
.oOo.
Goro and Manda have been out on the streets for hours. Asking around to find any trace of Allie. No one had answers. Goro even considered giving up until.
"I have her scent," he starts sniffing the air and runs down the street.
"Are you sure?" Manda asks not far behind.
"Definitely!" then he stops. Goro looks around franticly. "No! I lost it!" he kicks a trash can out of anger. The distance was so long that you could not see where it landed.
"Goro, I found something!" Manda is reaching down at something on the sidewalk as Goro leans next to her. "I think it's…" she looks up to him. "…webbing."
The Leaper looks at her in worry. "Kumonga!"
.oOo.
Lily and Kimiko are walking down the path that Lily takes every day. She usually enjoys the walk But this time a friend of hers is missing and she has a hard time focusing on anything else.
"Hey, Lily?" Kimiko catches her attention. "We will find her. You know that right?"
"Yeah, I do," she answers. "So, what's your story?" Lily asks, trying to pass the time.
"Basically, I was a police officer in Tokyo, but I always wanted to be an agent," she pulls out her badge to show it off. "I was well qualified and everything. They didn't see me being useful though," she put the badge back. "That is until a few kaiju showed up and the government seen that since I was already close I could keep an eye on them. And here we are. How about you?"
"I was simple girl who had an Inn to run, but not very much help." Lily starts. "One day though, while I was strolling through the forest like I usually do, I met two people who were trying to kill each other. And long story short they became my friends. Ohana, if you will."
"Neat!" Kimiko says. "If I may ask, what was with that look you gave Kong? I mean it seemed to have given Goji the creeps, and that's not easy to do."
"Don't know really," She shrugs. "It's a gift I guess. I can tell you that it's a good way to keep your employees doing their job," and the hotel owner giggles a bit. "My turn," she grins. "Do you like that Gojira guy?" as soon as the question came out, Kimiko's face started turning red. "I knew it!"
"It's not like that I swear!" Kimiko tried to lie but the blush told the truth.
"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone," Lily reassures her. "I might be going through the same thing with Kong," she smiles. Both girls started giggling like schoolgirls because they believed no one was watching them.
.oOo.
Kong is hiding behind some bushes. The ape is close enough so he can see Lily and Kimiko, but too far to hear what they are talking about. Kong ditched Gojira after thirty minutes of searching, so he could keep an eye on Lily. He was so busy that he did not notice Gojira sneaking up behind him.
"Hey, banana breath," as soon as Gojira said that Kong quickly spins around to throw a fist and Gojira catches it. "Calm down! I'm just curious as to why you have been following that human?" Gojira lets go of Kong's fist.
Kong turns back to the humans, "Because I can."
"Not good enough for me," Gojira starts to walk past Kong towards them.
The ape then pulls him back, "What are you doing?"
"I'm going to talk to them," he starts back towards them.
"Okay, okay!" Kong stops him again. "I like that human."
"Okay," Gojira turns the other direction to walk off.
"That's it? You're leaving just like that?"
"Yeah."
Kong grunts, "Whatever!" while waving him off.
.oOo.
Gojira has been searching through the forest for an hour now and still has not found the human girl yet. Then, Rodan's scent comes across his nose.
"That's strange," he says to himself. Gojira follows the scent to its source. The further he went he started to notice some webbing in the trees that just kept on getting thicker and thicker. He already knew who made it, his scent was all over the place. But there was no evidence that he was here now.
Gojira finally comes to where the webs are the thickest and finds two cocoons in the center. One of which had a scaly, brown wing poking out, flapping around uselessly.
"So that's what happened to you," the Kaiju King looks at what he assumes to be Rodan. Gojira then walks over to the other cocoon and sees brown eyes. "I'm guessing you're Allie," the eyes look at him with fear then Allie starts mumbling through the webbing. "What? Behind me?" Gojira realizes what he is being told and quickly spins to strike but is too late. A small, sharp pain is shot into his abdomen and then noticed that he can no longer move. He soon gets a good look at the attacker. A tall thin, man with tanned skin, brown hair with some yellow. It looks like there is yellow paint on his face, chest, and arms. He wears a pair of dark jeans.
"I caught a mighty big one here," he holds out his hand to show needle popping out at the end of each fingertip. Gojira has been paralyzed by his poison. "Don't you remember me your old friend, Kumonga?" he gives Gojira a wicked smile.
.oOo.
After Lily and Kimiko returned to the Inn, Goro and Manda showed up as well.
Goro tells them, "We have a problem."
"Kumonga's here?" Manda informs them as she shows them the webbing in her hands.
"Eep!" Kimiko lets out a squeal. "You mean the spider guy?" she asks as Goro and Manda nods. Kimiko then sinks down into a chair.
Kong then walks in, "What's going on here?"
"Kumonga is here," Goro says. "and I think he took Allie."
"That spider? Hah! No big deal I can squish him easily."
"Kong," Kimiko stares at him. "Where's Goji?"
"How should I know?" he answers honestly. "He ran off not long after we started searching."
"We have to find him!" she shouts.
"Don't worry about that fossil," Kong tries to reassure her. "I hate that guy, but I know he can handle anything thrown at him." At that moment something is thrown through an opened window. Everyone walks up to see what it was.
Kimiko picks up a pair of glasses with the lenses shattered. "Goji's glasses?"
"That's Rodan's goggles." Manda points at the said pair of goggles.
"This is," Goro picked up a small picture. "This is Allie's."
Lilly turns to the former ape and asks, "Now can we worry?"
"Yes, yes we can," Kong looks out the window to see what looks like a man with four legs growing out of his back. "Lily! You and this human stay here. The rest of us will go and look for them."
"Kong, don't—" she starts before Kong turns to her.
"I'm not asking," his voice is harsh.
The business owner lowers her head. "Okay."
Kimiko stands, "She can stay but I'm going."
The ape glares. "Did you not just hear what I said?"
"I heard you, I'm just not listening," Kimiko tells Kong as he starts growling. "I went up against Ghidorah and survived. I can handle myself and I'm going to help get my friends back."
"Fine! Do as you wish," Kong just heads out of the Inn with the others following.
"Hang on!" Goro tells as he goes over to the cabinet. "There's something we'll need," he opens a drawer, pulls out a lighter, and stuffs it into his pocket. "Glad Kale's a heavy smoker."
