Kaiju Fighters Ch. 26

Mosura stands at the entrance of the building with Moll, Lora, and Baragon. They await the return of their friends with Varan. She has also been told to expect some company with them other than Varan.

The Shobijin speak in unison, "Mosura?"

"We don't mean to bother but…" Moll starts.

Lora Finishes, "…who do you think they're bringing other than Varan?"

"I'm not sure honestly," the guardian of peace is clueless as they are.

"I have to admit," Baragon speaks up. "I am curious as they couldn't tell us on the phone."

Then, three of the team members that they were waiting for walked through the door.

Mosura bows, "Manda, Rodan, Varan. Welcome home," and the Elias do the same.

"Varan!" Baragon walks up to the said kaiju and gives him a hug. "Nice to see you made it through."

"It's good to see you too, bro," Varan says in return.

The Shobijin steps forward, "So, tell us what the big surprise is?"

That's when they notice the American woman wearing an overcoat holding hands with a little girl that walked in after them.

"Wow this place is huge!" the woman amazes at the sight around her. "Amy," she lowers herself to be at eye level with the child. "Isn't this place lovely?"

Amy did not speak, she only stares at the people around her before hiding behind the woman.

The woman looks over at the people. "Hello," she stands back up and walks over to them. "You must be Mothra," she shakes hands with Mosura. "I heard so much about you on the way here."

"Greetings. And it's actually Mo-su-ra," the guardian corrects.

The woman quickly apologizes, "Oh? I'm so sorry!"

"That's all right. Mistakes happen. If I may ask, who are you exactly?" the guardian is very curious about this new woman.

"I'm Elizabeth, but you can call me Liz," Liz then holds her hand up to show her ring. "I am also the new Mrs. Ishiyama."

Mosura eyes widen as she stares at the human for a moment.

"Ishiyama?" Lora turns to her sister.

Moll then asks, "Isn't that the name chosen by…?"

At that moment Anguirus comes walking in carrying several sets of luggage. The expression on his face is that of annoyance; one can even hear him growling.

Liz walks over to him, "Oh, let me help with those, Angy," and takes a couple bags.

"Angy?" Baragon grins at the others questionably. He can see that the ones who arrived with Anguirus are trying to hide their own smirks.

"Amy!" The woman calls out for the little girl. "Come and get your bags from daddy," and Amy does as she was told.

"Daddy!?" Mosura and the Elias shout simultaneously. They look at him with their jaws dropped.

"H-how did this happen?" Mosura asks the spiked kaiju.

Rodan laughs, "Funny story," while walking up beside Anguirus. "While Manda was in the hospital and Varan and I took care of Hedorah. The big dope here," he places a hand on the spiked one's shoulder. "Got, how the humans say? He got hitched," the winged kaiju looks over to his friend with a big smile that vanishes as soon as he sees the glare.

"Okay," the Shobijin speak in unison. "But how?"

"I'm not sure," Anguirus answers through his gritted teeth. "I can't remember anything from that night," his spikes rip through his jacket.

"Now, Angy," Liz walks up to him. "You need to calm down," she tells him as her index finger is placed on the tip of his horn and then slides it down until it gets to the upper lip. At this motion the spiked kaiju suddenly loses his spikes as his face regains a calm tone.

"How did you do that?" Mosura asks in bewilderment as the others were wondering the same thing.

"Let's just say this tough guy just needed was a woman's touch," she smiles slyly. "Now, if somebody would be kind enough to give me and my daughter the tour?" she looks to the others.

"Oh! Just follow us," the Elias notions for them to follow "You may leave your bags here and we'll send it to your rooms. Liz takes her daughter's hand and follows the twins.

Once they were gone Mosura turns back towards Anguirus. "Please tell me how this happened again?"

He grunts, "It's like I said. I don't remember."

"I'm not even sure if this should be filed in the report or not," she rubs the side of her head, already feeling a headache for the upcoming paperwork. When she looks back at Anguirus, he is walking away. "Where are you going?"

"I'm gonna have a chat with the Newt," he lowly growls.

The others look at each other wondering if they should stop him.

.oOo.

Caesar is leaving the training room after his meditation. That was the only reason why he did not wait with everyone else for their friends' return. The old Shisha figures the first place most of them would go to would be R & R.

As he nears the room, the dog gets the scent of two unknown people nearby. Two humans, he thought. Both female, mother and daughter. And the Shobijin with them, he takes one more whiff. They're in R & R.

Entering the room, Caesar indeed finds the twins with an American woman and a child.

"We haven't even finished the tour and I can already tell you that this place is amazing," the woman says as she takes in the contents of the room.

"We appreciate the compliment, Mrs. Ishiyama," the twins say.

Caesar nearly lost his composure after hearing that.

"Please just call me Liz. There's no need to be formal," the woman tells them as she further examines the room. "And this is the place where everyone just hangs out?"

"It is," Lora confirms. "It's actually the second most popular room here. The first…"

Moll adds, "…being the training hall."

Liz looks between them before speaking her mind. "I'm sorry if this offends you, but that thing you just did is kinda creepy."

They get that a lot," Caesar chooses this moment to reveal himself, "Sorry for interrupting," he walks over to them. "My name is Caesar," he bows. "And if I heard you correctly, you said that you are Liz Ishiyama. As in…"

"Angy's wife," Liz beams as she shows off her ring.

Caesar chuckles at the human's enthusiasm. "He must have made quit the impression."

"Yeah," she sighs happily looking back at the ring. "He did."

The old shisha raises a brow, still having trouble believing that the Anguirus he knows being romantic in any way.

Mosura walks into the room, "There you are! Apologies for interrupting," she looks to Liz. "I wanted to personally show you to your room. Well, yours and Anguirus' room."

"Wonderful," the human claps. "Come on, Amy!" Liz turns to where her daughter had stood moments ago only to find her missing. "Amy?" taking a quick look around, they find her in front of the TV watching a cartoon with colorful horses. "There you are. Come on!"

Amy looks at her mother and then points at the T.V.

"I know your favorite show is on," Liz tells her, understanding the jester. "But don't you want to see your new room?"

The girl just gives her mother a simple headshake.

"We can watch her until the show's over," the sisters tell the mother.

"Are you sure?"

Moll assures her, "It'll be alright."

"We just love children," Lora adds.

"Okay," the woman hesitantly agrees.

"And I think I shall go and congratulate my friend," Caesar tells them. "You wouldn't happen to know where I could find him?"

"Yes," Mosura says. "He was going to see Newt.

.oOo.

Inside their newly set up lab Newt and Hermann are having a discussion over one of Anguirus' scans that they had taken the other day.

"This is amazing!" Newt yells, as he is holding an image. It is a blown-up image of the spiked kaiju's arm. The scan shows some sort of root system throughout the bones and even into the three spikes on his forearm. "It's some sort of nervous system within his entire skeletal structure," the kaiju fanatic switches to the image of the kaiju's left shoulder. "I wonder what their purpose is."

"I'm not entirely sure," Hermann examines another scan that shows shades of blue and red. "These here suggest that they regulate temperature. How could we have missed this?" he picks up another one of the x-rays of Anguirus' head. This one is a side view image. Hermann focuses on the horn growing out of the nose. It has the same nerve system, but it also has a second system that separates it from the others. The doctor traces the path of the nerves from the tip of the horn down the edge towards the upper lip. Looking at the other set of scans he can see that they do not work the same way as the others.

It is that moment Anguirus bursts through the doors.

"Good god!" Hermann yells as he drops the scans, startled by the outburst. "What do you think you're doing?"

"You, shut it!" he points at the man in the sweater. "You!" the angered kaiju points at the one with glasses. He starts walking up to Newt with his spikes extracted from his body, picks him up and shoves the doctor up against the wall.

Newt could not remember the last time he was this frightened. The doctor closes his eyes expecting the worst. When nothing happened, the doctor opens his left eye and sees that the spikes were retracting.

"Not everything stays in Vegas," the kaiju tells the Newt as he sat him down.

Newt could not help but to raise a brow at this statement.

"What wouldn't stay in Vegas?" he rubs the back of his head messaging the newly formed bump. "I mean, unless you got hitched?" he lets out a small chuckle before seeing the glare from the kaiju. "My god! You got hitched?"

Anguirus lowers his head. "Yeah."

Hermann walks up to him saying, "Not to worry, my friend." hesitantly putting his hand on the shoulder before giving him a quick pat of reassurance. "It's a simple problem to solve you could get a divorce or even apply for an annulment it was Vegas after all."

"He won't do that." Comes the familiar voice of an elder. Everyone turns to the broken door to see the source.

"Caesar! What are you doing here?" asks Newt.

"I was meditating when Anguirus arrived," Caesar seems to ignore them while he examines the door. "Once I got the news of the newlyweds I came searching for him."

"Excuse me, Caesar," Hermann got the old Shisha's attention. "When you said that 'he won't do that' what did you mean?"

The shisha looks at him for a moment then to Anguirus before answering.

"From what I know about weddings is that it's a union of two souls. Such a union is a promise of loyalty. Till death do them part. Anguirus has a code of honor, a code that will not allow him to break any oath of loyalty. That's way no matter what, he would fight off anyone and anything. Even when the odds are against him," the shisha walks up to his friend. "Congratulations. Sorry I was absent for the ceremony," turns to the exit and stops. "I met her in the hallway. She seems like a lovely woman," then leaves.

.oOo.

"Liz, why did you marry Anguirus?" Mosura asks the human woman while walking down the hallway.

"I can't tell you that," she answers.

"Why not?"

"I sort of promised Angy that I wouldn't tell."

"But he doesn't remember anything."

"I know," Liz stops and so does Mosura to look at woman. "He was drunk when he made me promise, but I really don't want to break his trust."

Mosura smiles at the woman. "I can see why a small part of him would be attracted you."

"Guess I should take that as a complement," Liz returns the smile. She then looks back down the way they came, and her smile turns into a look of worry. "I don't mean to be rude but are you sure that Amy will be alright?"

"She'll be fine," the guardian of peace reassures her. "Lora and Moll are great with kids."

Liz starts smiling again and they continue their walk down the hallway. After a while they arrive at two doors across from each other.

"This room can be Amy's." Mosura tells Liz. "It's across from Anguirus' room," she gestures to the door on the other side of the hallway. "Which is now yours as well."

Liz opens the door to her daughter's room. Inside, there is only a simple bed and a dresser next to the closet, and the walls were just plain white.

"It seems a bit… dull," she had to admit. "Sorry."

"No apologies necessary," Mosura tells her. "We never expected something like this to occur and we figured mostly kaiju would be here," the moth smiles again. "The rooms were left blank so that we can decide how to decorate them. You have permission to do the same, I'm just not sure how much we could loan from our budget," the guardian looks at her with a sorry look in her eyes.

"I'll just ask Anguirus if he can help."

"How can he help?" the response confuses Mosura. "Being government funded, means that each of us are guaranteed to receive a salary. But I don't think Anguirus has enough to refurnish our rooms."

Liz looks back at her, "You mean Angy hasn't told you guys yet? Back in Vegas, Angy hit the jackpot

"So that's it," Mosura's face turns into one of disgust for a moment before regaining her stature. "You married for the money."

"No, that's far from the truth," one can see that Liz was hurt by that accusation. "Besides, I signed a prenup that basically says that I can't touch his money unless I ask," she then grins. "Or at least beg. Or whine. Whining works like a charm," she tells kaiju, with a sly grin.

Mosura turns away out of regret. "I'm sorry for accusing you for that."

"It's alright," Liz places her hand the kaiju's back. "I can easily see how anyone can think that."

Mosura looks back at her with her smile returning to her. The kindness of humanity never ceases to amaze her. "Well, I guess you would like to see your room now?" Mosura walks over to the door across the hall. "Fair warning," the divine moth looks back at Liz as she places a hand on the doorknob. "Anguirus isn't known for his cleanliness."

"How bad can it be?" Liz asks all too soon. Opening the door all the way, she can tell that Mosura was being kind with her words. Torn clothes stranded all over the floor and the mattress has tearing in it.

"The most this room gets cleaned is on laundry day," Mosura shakes her head in disappointment.

The first step Liz took, she heard a crunch. Lifting her foot up the human sees an aluminum can on the floor. Taking a closer look around there are more hidden among the mess.

"Beer? He knows that alcohol is not allowed on the premises," the guardian of peace obviously notices the cans as well. "How does he get them in here anyway?"

Liz stands there, still processing the state of the room. It was moments before she said anything. "This guy definitely needed a woman's touch."

.oOo.

For Anguirus, it has been a long day. The long plane ride home, introducing his human wife to everyone, and that he now has a human daughter as well.

Walking down the halls he can only think of one thing: his bed. It's not the nicest bed with the tears and torn sheets, but it was still his bed.

He smiles once the door comes to view. However, when he first entered the room, the kaiju was sure he walked into someone else's. Then, he sees his wife walking out of the bathroom carrying some towels.

"Uh, Liz. What happened?" he asks seeing the floor that he remembers was once stained.

"I cleaned. That's what happened," she answers. "I knew that you weren't perfect, but this is ridiculous," she set the towels on the dresser. "I would scold you a bit more if I didn't know about your past," then she walks back into the bathroom.

Anguirus then rubs the side of his head thinking that he needs a drink. The kaiju Walks over to the closet to get a can from his hiding spot, but there was nothing there. As he starts growling his spikes extract from his body again.

"Liz!" the ankylosaur said through his teeth. "Where's my stash?"

"Mosura said that they weren't supposed to be in the building. So, I threw them out," she answered as she was walking out of the bathroom again, with some clothes. "I'll be back, need to get these washed," then left.

After Liz was out of the room Anguirus kicks the bed, careful as to not break it. He does manage to move the bed enough to where he sees a folded piece of paper. Curious, the kaiju picks up the paper and reads.

Had to throw at least half of it out so Mosura wouldn't suspect it.

This'll be our little secret.

XOXOXO

Anguirus decides to check and see what else was under the bed. Bending over and lifting the bed, he finds several cans under there. He grabs one, sets the bed back down, then sits on the mattress.

The kaiju soon found himself smiling as he opens the can.

.oOo.

It must have been thirty or forty minutes after Anguirus fell asleep when he noticed the bed shifting.

Anguirus turns to see Liz wearing a nightgown and laying on his bed.

"What are you doing?" he asks.

"I'm just tired," she explains. "I've been cleaning most of the day. So, I'm going to sleep."

"I-in my bed?"

Liz turns to face him. "You are adorable. We're married now, so it's our bed. We're going to share a lot of things with each other."

"Even a place to sleep?"

The human chuckles. "You didn't seem to mind on our wedding night," then, she lets out a sigh. "Sometimes, I wish you did remember," she yawns before closing her eyes. The woman fell asleep in no time.

The ankylosaur can only whisper, "Exactly what did I do that night?"

End

NOTE: I'm still trying to figure out names for the other kaiju. I've already picked out Gojira's and as you can see, Anguirus'. I've also reserved something for Zilla and Komi. I'm open to suggestions. I figure it mostly be any of the good kaiju as they're the ones trying to be part of human society would get family names.

NOTE 2: As I'm depicting Manda, Varan, and Baragon as siblings in this, I would like for them to share a name.
