Kaiju Fighters Ch. 32 Halloween Special Part 2
"As soon as I saw the ghost, I had to get out of there," Rodan finishes the story. "And I knew that I needed to bring them here."
It was at that moment Mosura announced her presence. "That is quite peculiar?" she walks in wearing her brown kimono. The divine moth approaches Baragon and lays a hand on his head. "What are their conditions, doctors?"
Newt runs over to Dr. Gottlieb to push him away from the screen. "Well, they have regular brain activity. So, they're alive. Just not awake." He then gets wacked in the head by his colleague's cane.
"We have also found that they have some burns that show evidence that they had received electrical shocks," Hermann informs her. "It was an old building. They must have come in contact with loose wiring."
"I'm not sure about that," she tells them. "Baragon has the burns concentrated on his arm, while Anguirus has them on the sides of his head. This was deliberate."
Gojira steps up to her, "Mosura?"
"Whatever they encountered left behind traces of strong psychic energy. It's leaving them in a comatose state," she closes her eyes while taking a deep breath. "I'm going to try waking them up."
.oOo.
Baragon looks down one hallway then down the next. Both seemingly endless.
"Ang? Anguirus, where'd you go?" he has no idea when he lost his friend. The earth guardian just turned around the corner and he was gone.
Then, spots something from the corner of his eye. A movement into one of the nearby rooms. Baragon enters the room and finds it empty. The door then slams behind him. "What the?" he tries opening it back up. But the door would not budge. He felt something watching him, then shuffling was heard from behind. But turning around there was nothing there. Suddenly, the door opens. When he turned back around, Baragon's heart skipped a beat. Standing there is a man covered in dirt and dust, wearing a hard hat. Underneath the dust it can be made out that the man's skin is pale, and his eyes are glazed over. Baragon takes a step back. "Shinji? But, but you're, you're…"
"Dead?" Shinji tells him shallow, gravelly voice. "We are!"
"We?" that is when the earth guardian hers moaning from behind. Somehow, the entire room is filled with the men and women that Baragon had worked with in the mine.
Nariko reaches for him. "You killed us."
"I, I didn't mean to!" he tries backing away only to realize that he is surrounded by his deceased friends. "It wasn't my fault!" they close in around him and once one of them touched him, Baragon feels pain rushing through him.
.oOo.
Baragon's eyes shot open as he quickly sat up. He goes to throw a fist at the first person he sees, only to have it caught by Gojira. The earthen guardian blinks as he registers that he's no longer in the old building. He then sees that the one he almost attacked was Mosura. He lays back down and covers his eyes. Baragon tries to slow his heart to a more manageable rate. "I'm sorry," he whispers as tears roll down the side of his face. The Guardian's siblings rush to his side.
"No need to apologize," Mosura tells him. "To me, or your departed friends." That did not seem to reassure him though.
Mosura just sighs as she goes over to Anguirus and repeats the same process as before.
.oOo.
Anguirus lets out a growl. "Where'd that mole run off to?" at some point Baragon ditched him. Probably chickened out.
As he passes a room, the light came on and he hears a voice softly calling out "Oh, Angy!"
"Liz?" as soon as he turns back around the light turns off. The ankylosaur slowly pushes the door open only to find it empty. He shakes his head, passing it off as his head playing tricks on him and closes the door. He continues down the hall and soon comes across another room with another light shining from behind the door. This time when he opened the door the lights were on. Standing there in the middle of the room is a familiar woman. "Liz? What are you doing here?"
The woman turns around to give him a sweet smile. "I'm here to deliver this," she holds up a brown suit. "It would be great for your desk job."
"Desk job? I already have a job."
"You need a proper job to take care of our family. Besides, you cannot be a Fighter when you are no longer a kaiju. Now just look at yourself in the mirror. You look so handsome."
"What?" Anguirus turns to find himself facing a mirror. He is somehow wearing the suit. But that is not the most shocking thing. The ankylosaur is somehow lacking his horn and the scar over his eye. He lets out a loud bellow at the sight of himself as he feels pain going through his head.
.oOo.
Anguirus shoots up, drenched in sweat. He tried moving but finds himself being held down by his friends. The ankylosaur slows his breath, realizing that he is somewhere safe.
"Oh, Angy?" the voice of his wife calls out. She walks into the medical room carrying a shopping bag. "There you are. I got something for you," she pulls out a familiar brown suit.
At the sight of the suit, the heart monitor spikes. Anguirus crashes through the wall while shouting "NO!"
Varan looks through the hole only to see several more through the walls beyond it before commenting, "He thunderballed through the wall," he looks to Rodan who says.
"I'm surprised he hadn't done it any sooner."
"Well?" Liz examines the clothes. "I didn't think it looked that bad. I thought he could wear it for date night," the human woman then looks at the Anguirus shaped hole then over to Mosura and asks, "Was he… afraid of me?"
It was at that moment, the goddess of peace decided that she was better off telling her first lie. "Nope!" then she turns to the flyer. "Rodan, I need you to take me to the building."
The pterosaur rapidly shakes his head. "No way I'm going in there!" he flaps his wings, planning on taking off only to be stopped by Manda's voice.
"Rodan, please!" the sea dragon begs. It hurts him to see her in this state. He stops flapping and lands back down with a heavy sigh.
"You don't have to go in," Mosura tells him. "I just need to get there."
"Okay."
Mosura turns back to the other kaiju. "I'll need you to stay here to calm Anguirus before he hurts himself."
Gojira steps up, "I'm going with you."
"Gojira? Whatever is doing this has strong psychic abilities. Only me and my priestesses are trained against it, and I stand a better chance than Moll and Lora."
"Your mind may be strong, but your body is fragile in this state!" he growls.
Mosura flinches as that comment stung. As a kaiju hybrid, she is physically stronger than the average human. But, unless she figures out how to gather enough energy from this world's Terra she cannot fully bloom. All she is capable of is throwing silk.
The divine moth sighs, "Okay, Gojira," she concedes. "You win. But everyone else needs to make sure Baragon and more importantly Anguirus are okay."
Gojira only nods at her before turning to Rodan who slumps down, not looking forward to this.
