Kaiju Fighters Ch. 33 Halloween Special Part 3

Mosura, Gojira, and Rodan now stand outside the abandoned building.

"Here we are," Rodan tells them.

Mosura hums to herself as she pulls out a tablet and starts tapping on it. "There's nothing unique about this building. It was an old office building that's been condemned for a long time. They recently scheduled it for demolition. However, that's when the ghost started making its appearance and soon, no company would touch it."

Rodan peeks over her shoulder, "What does it say about the ghost. Was it an accident or was foul play involved?"

"Neither as far as I can tell," she tells him. "Apparently the business that used to run the place had a near spotless record. The most they had was an incident with a custodian falling down the stairs."

"So, he's not our ghost?"

"No, he's not our ghost. The custodian simply took the incident as a sign to retire and died a couple years later of a heart attack."

"Okay then. I'll stay here on lookout while you to go bust some ghosts."

Mosura just tells him, "Thank you, Rodan." While Gojira is already halfway through the door

.oOo.

The two travel the hallways, still unsure of what they are looking for. Mosura holds her free hand out, as if she is following an invisible string.

"What are you picking up?" Gojira asks.

"I'm definitely detecting some residual psychic energy. Whoever or whatever this is seems to have been born to penetrate one's mental field," she then feels a tug on the invisible string. "This way, Gojira. Gojira?" she turns to find nobody there. "Gojira?" all Mosura found is a corridor that is much longer than she remembered.

When Mosura turns back around, in the distance she sees a door slightly ajar with the light on. Out of curiosity, the guardian of peace goes to investigate it. After opening the door the rest of the way, she is momentarily startled seeing both Moll and Lora on the floor dead. She takes a deep breath. "None of this is real. I've felt guilt over letting them die just like I constantly do after letting the rest of their people die," the bodies of her priestesses fade away. Mosura turns to leave the room when she is startled by a voice followed by feeling a spike in psychic energy.

"Guess I'll have to go deeper," a pair of hands grab the side of her head as an electric shock is sent through it.

She is now standing in the middle of the hallway. "This isn't real. None of it is."

A child's voice calls out, "Mommy?"

Her heart skipped a beat. "F-Fairy?" and just like that her previous thoughts vanished.

"Mommy! Where are you?"

"I'm coming!" Mosura follows the voice. She finally came to the sight of a young child, wearing a pink and white Kimono with matching butterfly wings. The little girl has pink hair with white highlights with a pair of antennae sticking out of them. "Fairy?" the divine moth can feel tears running down her cheeks.

The child turns to reveal her bright blue eyes. "Mommy!" the two reach for each other. Suddenly, the child is pulled away by an unseen force as she screams "MOMMY!"

"Fairy!" Mosura starts running after her. But with every step she takes the child is pulled away even further. In a desperate move, she throws her hand out, shooting a string of silk, but that ends with the same results as the child vanishes into the shadows. "FAIRY!" she cries out.

Mosura then sees a light coming from one of the rooms. She slowly approaches it and in the middle of the room is the child curled up in a ball, crying. The woman kneels next to the girl, dropping the tablet, picks the child up, and starts cradling her. "I-I thought I lost you. I'm so sorry, my darling. But it's okay now. Thank Terra I've found you."

Unbeknownst to the guardian of peace, when she dropped the tablet it turned the device's camera on. The tablet shows Mosura cradling an old musty pillow.

.oOo.

Gojira has no idea what happened with Mosura. She just started mumbling and then took off down the hallway. He tried keeping up with her, but after seeing her going into one room but only to find it empty two times, the kaiju knew he could not trust his eyes alone.

He has her scent now and knows where to find her.

The Gojirasaurus finds her in an empty room tightly hugging a pillow. "Mosura?" he places a hand on her shoulder.

Mosura turns around, revealing that she has been crying. "I found her, Gojira," she tells him. "My baby's alright. She crossed over with us."

"Mosura. I need you to look at what you're holding."

She lets out a chuckle. "Gojira. I know my own daughter when…" when the guardian turns back to child, she only sees the old pillow. As she drops the pillow, her eyes widen in terror, heart starts pounding, and her breathing rapidly increases. "Where is she?"

"Mosura?"

"She was right here!" she stands to run out of the room. "She's here somewhere," only to be caught by Gojira.

"Mosura, stop!"

"I have to find her!" Mosura starts hitting the big guy. "Let me go."

"It wasn't real. None of it was real," he tries to calm her down.

"She has to be real!" she throws silk over his glasses in an attempt to blind him. He just tosses them away.

"Sorry!" he tells her before throwing her into a wall. And before she had any chance to recover, Gojira rushes up to her, grabs her head and slams it back into the wall. The goddess falls limp onto the floor.

Gojira sighs. "The guys are never going to let me live this down."

Then, laughter reaches his ears from everywhere. "Now why did you go and do that for? It was a touching moment. I actually considered leaving her like that."

The alpha kaiju starts spinning around, trying to find the source.

"I'm over here!" the voice continues laughing at him. "No, over here!"

"Where are you?"

"I'm everywhere. Yet, I'm nowhere," the laughter intensifies. Then, Gojira hears the voice right behind him. "Boo!"

Gojira turns to throw a punch, only for his fist to meet air. "That doesn't make any sense," he growls.

"What? Baby G doesn't recognize his old friend?" out of the shadows steps out a man. Wearing jeans, boots, yellow-green t-shirt, a green leathery vest with spikes on the shoulders. There is orange, scruffy hair on the top of his head with a row of three horns sprouting out of it. The man has clawed hands and piercing red eyes.

Gojira points at him as the realization dawns on him, "You. I saw you in my dreams. As a hatchling."

"That's right, Baby G," he laughs. Gojira swipes at him, only for the man to disappear. "Ooooh! So, close!"

"Who are you?"

He appears right in front of Gojira. "I'm Gabara, the Living Nightmare! And I'm in the real world, baby. I can now haunt you in both your dreams and reality. Remember all the fun times we had when you were a hatchling. All those nights you went to your nest crying for your mommy. Boo-hoo!"

Gojira lets out a roar as his eyes turn to slits. He throws a double atomic blast at Gabara. Only for him to vanish.

.oOo.

Rodan is standing outside, debating whether or not to go in when a large blue beam blasts through the side of the building.

He looks up before telling himself. "The G-Man's got this."

.oOo.

"Man," Gabara appears by his side. "You are really tough to break," he walks around Gojira until he stands in front of the big guy. "But if I can break the great Mosura, I'm sure you will be a piece of cake."

Hands reach from behind Gojira to grab ahold of his head and he feels intense pain.

The doors to the room burst open as numerous soldiers entered.

Gojira holds his head, trying to remember what he was just doing. "What?" his eyes had reverted back to normal at this point.

One of the soldiers shouts, "Hands in the air!" Gojira complied with the orders. Not wanting to cause an incident and then hear about it from Mosura.

Kimiko's voice then reaches past the soldiers. "Hold your fire!" she pushes her way to Gojira. "He's one of the good guys."

"Sorry, ma'am."

"I came here as fast as I could, Goji. Where's the target?"

"Um," he tries to remember anything that happened, but finds himself unable to. "I'm actually not sure."

The agent sighs and then looks past him to see the divine moth. "Mosura?" she rushes over to her side and checks for a pulse. "Did the target do this?"

"That was me actually," he lets out a low sigh. "I'm going to get an earful later." Gojira then finds that Kimiko has pulled her maser on him. "What's going on?"

"She's dead, Goji. You killed Mosura."

"What!? I couldn't have. Kimiko, I—" he takes a step but dared not take another as the agent flinches.

"Stay back, you monster!"

Those words hurt Gojira. he has been called that his entire life. But, to hear it from Kimiko with that amount of fear in her eyes.

"Kimiko, please! You gotta—" he is then shot by the maser and finds himself on the ground. He looks up at the agent "Kimiko?" he backs away as the agent approaches him. Gojira stops once his hand touches something. Turning, he sees the tablet. The tablet shows him looking at it and behind him. Instead of Kimiko, he sees Gabara stepping closer to him with sparks of electricity emitting from his hand.

The Atomic Titan's eyes once again become slits as he jumps back around to grab this illusion of Kimiko around the neck and all the soldiers trained their guns on him.

"G-Goji?" she manages to choke out. "You're hurting me," she grabs his forearm, and he feels the electricity running through it.

Gojira growls. "You're not Kimiko!" he raises her up and slams her on the ground. In doing so, the image of Kimiko and the agent is replaced with Gabara, and all the soldiers disappear as well. The kaiju king lifts him back up and brings the nightmare kaiju closer to his face. "I wonder if you can fly?"

Hearing this, Gabara gulps.

.oOo.

Rodan hears glass shattering. Looking up, the pterosaur sees a body being flown out the window. He steps aside to avoid both the glass and the body. The flyer then steps over to the body and tilts his head.

"I think I saw you in my nightmares as a hatchling," he tells the body that lets out a groan. Out of instinct, he kicks them in the head to make sure they are out cold.

.oOo.

Gojira watched as Gabara hit the sidewalk followed by Rodan giving him a good kick. The kaiju king then goes over to Mosura to see that she is still breathing. He lets out a sigh of relief at the movement.

Gojira picks her up bridle style and makes their way to the exit.

Once he is outside, Rodan approaches them. "Woah! He did that to Mosura?"

"Actually, that was me," Gojira admits once again. Rodan's eyes widened, trying to figure out for what reason he would do that.

Mosura then lets out a moan. "Don't worry, Rodan. It was something that I needed," she looks up at Gojira. "Gojira, will you let me down?" she receives a nod as the kaiju king lowers her down. Once her feet touched the ground though, her balance was so unsteady that Mosura had to prop herself up on Gojira.
