Kaiju Fighters Ch. 38 Christmas Special Final
Rodan stands on the balcony, moping over the fact that he was unable to get a kiss from Manda.
The sea dragon walks up to him. "Hey, Birdbrain. Are you coming in or not?" she does not receive an answer. "You're not gonna give me the silent treatment all night, are you?"
"I don't see why not?" he sighs. "It's about all I get from you."
"Oh, please," Manda rolls her eyes. "You'll get over me and asks out the next female that hasn't already rejected you."
"I… never really wanted dates with those girls. I mean, I wanted a date, but I only asked them because you won't. But I obviously don't have a chance with you."
"Cheer up, Rodan. It's not like it's the end of the world."
"I guess."
"Now, come on. there's still plenty of food to eat," she tells him as she heads inside. Halfway through the doorway, Manda turns to notice that the pterosaur was not following her.
Rodan is just staring up at a bright star. "For Christmas, all I want is one kiss from you," he turns to go to where Manda is. The flyer stops in his tracks as he notices the familiar leaf hanging above the doorway. "Is that… a mistletoe?"
"What?" Manda looks up. "That wasn't there before," then turns back to Rodan.
The pterosaur grins at her, "I swear I had nothing to do with this. But I guess wishes do come true."
"Fine!" she growls. "But just this once," she closes her eyes and puckers her lips to let the pterosaur kiss her. Manda then pushes him away. "Now, get out of my face before I drown you."
"No, sweat," he walks past her with a bit more perk in his step. "Hey, Manda," he calls out as he turns to her. "Thanks for the kiss," then flies over to one of the tables with food.
When she is sure he was gone, Manda smiles as she takes the mistletoe down. Then, she is startled by King Caesar's voice.
"That was a nice gift," he is standing at the doorway taking a sip from a mug.
The sea dragon hid the leaf behind her. "I, uh, I don't know what you're talking about."
"I saw everything," he raises his brows at her.
"You did?" she asks, knowing that the shisha is not known for lying. Manda hands the leaf to him. She was the one to set the mistletoe up. "I figured even the Birdbrain deserved something special for this day."
"You do know that all you did was increase his chances of getting with you?"
"Thanks for pointing out that I ruined my first Christmas," the sea dragon mumbles as she passes Caesar.
Baragon is over at one of the tables with the Shobijin, Mosura gathering their plates of food. Manda, Caesar, and Rodan are already sitting at a table with their plates. Varan is fine leaning on the counter enjoying the hot cocoa. Liz and Anguirus are in the corner with the spiked kaiju sweating over whatever his wife is telling him.
Kimiko and Gojira walk back into the R & R. "We're back!" the agent shouts and everyone gathers around them glad that everyone is finally here. Kimiko then holds up a new star. "Look what Goji got me. Rodan!" she calls out. "Care to do the honors?" and hands it over to the pterosaur.
"Will do!" before taking off though, Gojira grabs Rodan by the collar and pulls him in close.
"Don't drop this one!" he growls.
"G-got it, chief." Once freed, Rodan carefully hovers to the top of the tree. As soon as the Star was placed on the tip, the entire room seemed to have lit up.
Like everybody else, Anguirus was admiring the Christmas Tree when he felt a tug at his pants leg. Looking down, he finds Amy standing next to him, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. "Amy, I thought you were asleep?" he leans down to her as does Liz.
"Amy, sweetheart," Liz starts, "There's something that daddy and I need to tell you." As a response, the child points at a clock. The clock shows that it is half past midnight. "Well yes, it is technically Christmas. But Amy…" before the woman could finish, the child runs off to the tree where a large colorful box rests with the girl's name on it.
Amy quickly tears off the wrapping paper to reveal a princess playset for her dolls. With a squeal, the child runs over to her parents to hug them.
Liz and Anguirus stand next to one another, enjoying the glee on the child's face. Anguirus comments, "And you said Santa wasn't real."
"Oh, Angy, don't be ridiculous. Here I thought you actually forgot to get it. Thank you for buying another year like this."
The Ankylosaur points at the playset. "But I didn't get that."
"Angy, if you didn't get that than who?"
"You don't think that…?"
"No, no! that would be ridiculous," the wife chuckles while the husband just eyes the gift.
Gojira is now walking around the tree, admiring it for the first time. He stops as he spots an ornament of a familiar man in red. He picks it off to examine it. "Kris?" the likeness is uncanny.
"Kris Kringle," Kimiko walks up to him. "One of the many names for Santa Claus. The one man who makes sure wishes come true every Christmas," she tells him while taking the ornament and placing it back on its spot on the tree. "Of course, he's a myth. It's impossible for such a man to exist."
Gojira responds, "Says the special agent talking to a former radioactive dinosaur."
Kimiko snaps her head towards him and asks, "Did, did you just make a joke?" and for a moment, she could have sworn the edges of his mouth turned up. The agent laughs before saying, "Merry Christmas, Goji!"
Gojira returns the hug, "Merry Christmas, Kimiko!"

NOTE: I originally meant to post the previous chapter on Christmas Eve and this one on Christmas Day. But between work and the holidays, everything kinda got scrambled together.
