Kaiju Fighters Ch. 44

SG walks down the streets of Tokyo with Kimiko following not far behind. Once they meet in the middle of a large square, the ground starts rumbling, causing the humans around them to panic and scatter. A series of crystalline towers erupt from the streets in a circular formation. A larger tower sprouts from the middle with a seat molded at the base. Once, the last human aside from Kimiko is outside the formations, a barrier is emitted from the towers preventing anyone else from entering. The Void Invader sits at his self-made throne and the agent stands by his side, awaiting Gojira's arrival.

Once the crystal formations came into sight, Gojira comes to a complete halt on his bike. There are several K.A.N.E. soldiers trying to cross the barrier.

Captain Jetson is there. He shouts, "Fire!" and all soldiers shoot their weapons at the barrier only to reflect off. One of the shots redirected back to a soldier and into their arm.

"You're not going to get through," Gojira approaches him. "Not unless he wants you to."

Jetson salutes and receives a growl from the kaiju. "Gojira? How do we get in there then?"

Gojira does not answer, he only walks through the barrier, leaving the soldiers stunned.

The Captain turns back to his men. "Get that soldier a medic, then radio the Director. Tell him we need the big guns."

SG smiles as he sees Gojira approaching him. "What took you so long, Brother?"

"I'm not your brother!" Gojira growls before eyeing Kimiko. "Let her go."

The Crystal Kaiju smirks, "I will if you can make me."

At that, Gojira rushes to his father's clone readying a single strong punch. He knew something was wrong as SG does not bother to move. Just as he was moments away from his combatant, the Alpha stops as he finds his fist an inch away from Kimiko. "Kimiko? What are you doing?"

It is at that moment that he realizes that the human's eyes are glazed over and rather than looking at him, it is as if Kimiko is looking through Gojira. "Kimiko?" she then draws her maser and fires it at him.

Mosura finally arrives on scene with her priestesses, Baragon, and Rodan.

The guardian of peace approaches the barrier and places a hand on it to get the sense of the energy signature. She then observes a K.A.N.E. truck unloading a large cannon. "That won't work," she tells them.

"Ma'am?" she is approached by the Captain and with a quick salute. "Captain Johnathan Jetson."

"I know, you've left quite the impression on Gojira. whether or not that's good thing remains to be seen," she examines the cannon. "You've enlarged the Maser. I must disapprove. I never said anything of the original design as they were meant for defense, but this looks more like a weapon of war."

"I don't ask them to build these, Ms. Hikari. I just use them."

Mosura looks back over at the barrier and crystal formations. "If this is who I think it is, then I can tell you that if that weapon goes off against that, then all you're gonna do is cause a lot of damage," she turns back to the soldier. "We need to subdue him quickly before it gets out that he is here. Why was I not informed of this when it first appeared?"

"We thought you knew," Jetson's brow's furrow. "You sent Gojira, didn't you?"

"What?!" Mosura shouts and the Shobijin gasps.

"Oh, man!" Rodan shakes his head. "The G-Man is the last guy who should be here."

The captain addresses the kaiju matriarch, "I thought you were able to detect kaiju? And your reports states that you were being more alert to the more dangerous was."

"My Priestesses have been distracted as of late," Mosura states.

Both Elias' flinch, a passive aggressive Mosura is worse than an angry Mosura. Moll looks at the ground. Lora looks at her sister before glancing at Baragon. She looks away as soon as the earthen guardian notices the glance.

Mosura turns to the pterosaur. "Rodan! I need you to take to the skies and see if there are any vulnerable points."

"Aye, aye, boss lady!" the flyer takes off and starts charging at different points of the barrier.

"Baragon!" she now faces the earth dragon, and he flinches, hoping it was not noticed that he was staring. "Do what you do best and dig, see if you can bring just one of those towers down."

"On it!" with that, Baragon takes his large hands and easily breaks through the concrete.

"Jetson," the guardian of peace addresses the soldier. "As much as I don't like it, ready that cannon of yours just in case they manage to break the barrier," with the command, the soldier salutes before barking orders to his men. "Moll, Lora! Put your sibling squabbling to the side for now. We need to get through to Gojira and assist him any way we can."

"Yes, ma'am!" both Elias' reply. The three of them get down on their knees and into a prayer position as they use their metal capable abilities to break through the barrier. They briefly get an image of SG on his throne and Kimiko firing a Maser pistol at Gojira. SG then looks at them in the image and sends a telekinetic wave that knocks the Elias out and greatly weakens Mosura.

Mosura manages to huff out, "Something's wrong!"

SG is seemingly looking at the air. "It seems the worm is here."

Gojira gets another blast from Kimiko's Maser. His glasses broke long ago. The Alpha kaiju rushes towards Kimiko, grabs both her hands, and raises her off the ground. He then snatches the maser pistol and crushes it. "What's wrong, Kimiko?" No answer as the human just stares at the ground. "Look at me!" still no answer.

SG commands, "Look at him!" and she does.

The king growls, "What did you do to her?"

"Lovely necklace," the clone walks up to them and gestures to her neck. "Don't you think?"

That is when Gojira spots the series of crystals wrapping around Kimiko's neck. He immediately grabs them to tear the jewelry off, only for her to start screaming in agony as her eyes return to normal. Startled, the Alpha drops her, and the human's eyes glaze back over.

Gojira growls, "What's wrong with her?"

SG chuckles. "Those crystals suppress the area of the brain that allows self-thought. She is under my control. And as… what do the humans call it? An insurance policy. As long as she is under my will those crystals will send a massive neural feedback with any attempt to forcibly remove them. Unless it is by my hands."

With a roar, the Alpha kaiju throws a fist at this fake. Only, to stop as Kimiko is now in front of SG once again.

A roar of laughter comes from the Bio-Quartz monster. "I also implanted a subconscious command to not allow any harm come to me," he raises a hand. "How does it feel to be powerless?" Gojira can feel the telekinetic grasp as he is raised off the ground. He is then slammed back into the asphalt and dragged through it.

Rodan flies around, ramming into the barrier, hoping for a way in. As he rams once again and sees that he is starting to break through. One of the towers hums before firing red lightning at the flyer to allow time for the vulnerable spots to repair themselves. The pterosaur tries two more times getting the same results and notices that the previously cracked spots were seemingly reinforced.

Giving up, Rodan flies back to Mosura. The first thing he registers is that the Elias are passed out and the guardian of peace rubbing her head. "He's booby trapped the barrier," he says as he lands next to her. "And any damaged I could do is fixed faster than I can break them."

Just then, the ground erupts not far from them and Baragon climbs out. "No good,' he approaches Mosura. "He expanded the barriers under the ground. He's definitely not making the same mistake twice," then he notices the sisters passed out and he rushes to Lora's side. "What happened!?"

Mosura looks back at the barriers. "His mental capacity is greater than ours. I managed to resist the psychic blowback. But my girls?" she looks back at the Elias and soon the image of them dead back in the old-world flashes before her eyes. The guardian of peace had not registered that she lost her footing until Rodan stood her back up. "Thank you. Something's wrong. Before being forced out, I got an image of Kimiko firing at Gojira."

"That's a bit harsh, isn't it?" Rodan scratches his head. "I know that a broken heart hurts but."

"I don't think that's it," Mosura tells him. "She was attacking him, but it did not look like she was seeing him. Knowing SpaceGojira's capabilities…" she trails off there. "I think Gojira has finally entered a battle he cannot win."

After being thrown into a building, Gojira pulls himself out, jaws widened with a familiar blue glow building up in the back of his throat. He lets the glow die and closes his mouth as Kimiko is once again standing between him and SG. He may be able to stop his fists, but an atomic blast is a whole other matter.

SG raises a hand as a series of crystal spikes erupt from the ground mostly focusing where Gojira is standing. Luckily his reflexes are fast enough to jump out of the way. The crystals then break away from their bases and are thrown into the sky. The spikes spin to face down and when the Crystal Kaiju throws his hand back down, the crystals come crashing down. Gojira easily maneuvers them. That is until he notices that one of the spikes is heading towards Kimiko. "Kimiko!" he shouts and immediately rushes to her. The Alpha Kaiju grabs her and takes a few steps as the spike tears through his jacket.

"How interesting," SG reaches out telekinetically and pulls his brother away from the human and throws him into a car. The Void Invader hovers to him with a hand sparking with a yellowish-orange electricity. He holds out the hand to Gojira, then points it at the human as the corona beam is released.

"NO!" Gojira finds himself once again racing the clock. In his mind, time moved slower as the beam sped up. Moments from the beam hit Kimiko, the kaiju king manages to shove her out of the way. The beam hits him in the chest tearing through the shirt and slams into another building. Gojira manages to crawl out of the hole as SG laughs.

"I knew that you were fond of a few humans. But this?" he waves a hand at Kimiko who now lays among metal scraps and broken bars. "Has the great Gojira fallen for a human female?" small pieces of crystal break off from the tower and a band forms around his head with a three pronged crest. "This is why you don't deserve the title of King. As you can see I wear the crown. I intend to serve the kaiju and make sure they never try to exterminate or subjugate our kind."

"So, what?" Gojira forces him to stand and rips off the remainder of his shirt and jacket. "So, what if I've fallen for her? She is kind and caring. That human has little fear as she was willing to stand against Ghidorah himself, knowing that her weapon had no effect on him. Kimiko is strong and I love her for that."

SG stares at him as he balls his fist. "It doesn't matter," more pieces of crystal break from the tower and mold themselves around his fists and he slams them against his brother.

Back over with Kimiko, she felt helpless as the agent is commanded to do whatever the Goji look-a-like tells her to do. Able to see and hear everything, but unable to do anything herself. There is one thing that stood out from what she overheard of the two kaiju's conversation. "Goji, loves me?" her hand wraps around a broken bar.

With one last punch, the crystals around SG's fists shatter. "I don't see why father would choose you over me?"

Gojira spits blood on SG's boots. "Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that you put me in a cage to torment later!"

"My intention was never to bring you harm. I just wanted him to acknowledge my existence. You were supposed to live the rest of your life under my guidance, Brother."

Gojira growls, "I am not your brother!"

"Then, I'm sorry that I have to do this," SG holds both hands towards his brother as the orange energy starts building up. "Goodbye, Brother," the energy dissipates as he lets out an "Ack!" pain is sent throughout his entire body. The main tower starts cracking before it collapses completely.

"Captain!?" Mosura warns. "I'm telling you again, if you fire that weapon now—"

"Sorry, Ms. Hikari," Jetson tells her. "But there's a threat beyond those barriers and we need to get to it now," he turns to his men who finished setting up the Maser Cannon. "Fire on my mark! Ready aim! Fir—"

"Wait!" Mosura shouts as she notices that the cracks in the towers and the barrier disappears as they fall apart. "Pick that thing up, now!" she orders the captain before facing Baragon who is still at Lora's side. "You watch them. Both of them! Let's go!"

SG collapses to the ground as he clutches a vulnerable spot between his legs. Standing right behind him is a ticked off Kimiko holding a broken metal bar.

Kimiko rips off the crystal necklace and throws it at the downed SpaceGojira. "Not really necklace kind of girl," she then approaches Gojira who instinctively protects the same area where SG was struct. The human drops the bar and runs up to him without saying a word. She presses her lips against his. Gojira soon wraps his arms around her and the two embrace each other. They are soon brought out of their moment by a cough.

"Ahem!" standing before them is Mosura. "Are we interrupting something?" she gives the two a knowing smirk. Rodan is behind her, and he raises his brows up and down suggestively. Looking around, the couple sees that they are surrounded by a small platoon of soldiers.

"Uh?" Kimiko glances at Gojira with a smile of her own and he could only smile back. "Nope! Not at all," Gojira then grabs her around the waist as he gets up and sets her down on her feet.

"We were, um?" Gojira tries to figure out what to say but is interrupted by the voice of the Captain.

"Where's the threat?" Jetson questions them as he searches the area.

The two look around. "He was right here!?" Kimiko's face falls into her hands. An arm is soon wrapped around her as Gojira pulls her in.

"We'll find him," he tells her. "There are not many things I hold dear to me. But he messed with the most precious thing I have, and I don't plan on letting him get away with it."

Kimiko stares at him in disbelief before smiling and snuggling up against him. That moment is theirs. They do not care that they have an audience. Of both their friends and the Soldiers.

Quite few of the soldier manage to keep a stoic expression; Jetson among them, some of the men and women nod their heads as if giving their approval. Many of the others though have a look of disgust at the pair.
