Kaiju Fighters Ch. 49

Mosura and the Shobijin arrive through the entrance of their Base to find Gojira still in the suit but with the tie removed and sleeves rolled up, leaning there with arms crossed next to a worried Kimiko.

Gojira turns to the divine moth. "We have a problem."

Mosura sighs. "I already know. How could we have not known she was here the entire time?"

"It is possible that Erika was the dominate side," Moll thinks out loud.

Lora agrees, "Thus, suppressing her kaiju signature."

"Excuse me?" Kimiko speaks up. "Goji wouldn't tell me anything since mentioning this Erika Shiragami. Is she that dangerous?"

The Kaiju King lets out a low growl. "It's not Shiragami that I'm worried about."

Before the agent could ask further, Mosura answers. "Erika Shiragami was a kind soul and was one of the leading researchers in botany. Until she died in an accident. Her father preserved her DNA in a rose and out of desperation on making sure that rose never dies, he in fused it with the DNA of Gojira's father."

"Man's arrogance never ceases to surprise me," Gojira growls. "That old man knew nothing of what he had and yet, he tried playing god," he slams his fist through the nearby wall.

Kimiko puts her hand on his shoulder to calm the kaiju down. He took a deep breath to steady himself but did not calm down.

Mosura then addresses them. "How do you know about this?"

The agent answers "Shiragami visited me just before our date. She wanted me to tell Goji about the slumbering rose waking up. What does that mean?"

The moth steps away from everyone to think. "What we are dealing with is an abomination that is part Gojira, part plant, part human. It is possible that once arriving here, Shiragami's soul was the one controlling the body. But something must have triggered her dormant side. The part of her that we must worry about. The one called Biollante. Moll! Lora! I need you two to do a full scan of the city," she turns back to them. "We need to find…" the moth finds that she's mission someone in her audience. "Oh, not again!" Mosura starts rubbing her temples.

Gojira at some point vanished during the conversation.

.oOo.

It's been a while since the alpha hunted anything. With the fact that human luxury hands Gojira everything he needs, there was no reason to. However, given what he knows of the prey, the King is forced to. To be honest, he feared that his instincts would dwindle during his time being human.

Gojira's senses leads him straight to a floral shop blocked off from the rest of the street by crime scene tap and a couple of police officers. The officers were hesitant to let them through before he showed them his ID card.

Once he set foot into the shop, Gojira closes his eyes to let his senses take everything in. The King starts visualizing everything that happened.

First there was a human already in the shop followed by two more humans entering and suddenly the first human's signature vanished. Replaced by a kaiju. He can feel the anger burning off the kaiju as it lashes at the two remaining humans. Then, the kaiju vanishes, and the human is back. She's terrified by what is before her and runs off.

He has the scent and follows after his prey.

Back at Base in the Meditation Room, both Mosura and the twins are in a prayer position. Putting their concentration on one task. Finding Erika Shiragami before it's too late.

Their minds extend across the entire city. An exhausting task for any one psychic. Human or non.

After a few hours, they found a mental signature constantly switching from human to kaiju. Entering the mindscape, they are met with the sight of Erika with black hair instead of green and lacking the rose. She is struggling against thorny vines originating from a giant, closed rose bud.

"Help me!" the human shouts. She turns to find the kaiju and her priestesses standing there. "Please, help me!"

Then a second voice emitting from the bud shouts. "Get out!"

The three are then forced out of the mindscape. Both Shobijin collapse and Mosura finds herself out of breath. "I know where she is."

.oOo.

Gojira follows the trail to a street where people are gathering.

He makes his way through the crowd to find an ambulance and some MTs lifting a green haired woman on a stretcher. The woman is struggling as if she is in pain.

At first, the Alpha could only sense humans, but then one of them is replaced. Gojira pushes his way past the other humans, shouting, "Get away from her!"

One of the MTs turns to his shouting only to end up with something piercing out of his chest through his back. Looking down, a long-blooded spike emerged from his chest. People start screaming as the human is lifted in the air and tossed away.

The formally ill woman is now standing, hair disheveled, eyes glowing yellow, nails elongated into claws, and razor-sharp teeth. The rose in her hair started wilting. The spike that had originated from her left hand, retracts back into her arm. She lets out a blood curdling shriek as her arm is swung towards Gojira, releasing a thorny vine.

Gojira was quick to jump out of the way, only to find that his opponent's other arm has a vine as well that wraps around his arm.

"Why…" the woman huffs, "…won't you let me live!?" she screams as she tosses the king away.

The Fighter manages to land on his feet, then notices his prey making a run for it. He, of course, chases after.

His prey runs into a small park. She turns around and digs her claws into the ground. As Gojira nears her, he is grabbed by a nearby tree that constricts itself around him. Just as the wood starts cocooning around the kaiju, Gojira releases an atomic blast, burning the trap around him.

The Alpha glares at his prey with his slit eyes and charges after her with great speed. He tackles her to the ground, turns her over, while preparing another blast. Only to let the buildup die down as his prey starts sobbing.

"I don't want to die!" Erika cries as the glow from her eyes fades, her teeth no longer sharp, claws retract, and hair straightens out. The Rose in her hair seems to have regained its color and appears healthy. The kaiju's scent has disappeared.

Gojira calms down as his eyes return to normal and gets off her. The woman crawls away, still sobbing.

Clutching her head, Erika confesses. "I didn't mean to kill that woman or the guys from last night. It, it just happened, and I couldn't control it," she looks up at Gojira with teary eyes. "W-what's happening to me?"

Looking into her eyes, Gojira realized something. He hasn't been hunting an old foe of his father's. This is also an innocent woman who is just confused about what she's going through.

"You are broken," comes the voice of Mosura. The Guardian of Peace approaches them alongside Varan, Baragon, and Kimiko. The moth kneels next to Erika. "A body can only contain a single soul, Erika. You have two. Yours and Biollante. Both are struggling to take control."

Erika clenches her eyes shut. "When I woke up and realized I was alive. I thought I was rid of her. I remember how vicious she was and what she wanted to do," she looks up at Gojira. "I don't want to die. I really don't. But I know she must be stopped. I figured if I let you know, you would end it, Gojira."

That statement causes the King of the Kaiju to look away.

Mosura reaches a hand up to move a strand of hair back in place. "It doesn't have to be that way. I can help you. But one of you will need to let me in. I don't think Biollante will. So, I'll need your trust. Do I have it?"

The woman closes her eyes and swallows a sob before nodding her head.

The Divine Moth turns to her comrades. "While doing this, we'll both be vulnerable. And I have no idea if Erika will come out as the dominant one or not. You need to keep this contained if it goes south."

They all nod at their boss.

Mosura sighs as she places her fingertips on the sides of Erika's head, and she finds herself withing the woman's mindscape. She is met with the same sight as before. Erika struggling to get away from a rose bud.

"Please, help me!" Erika screams.

Mosura approaches them. "You have to remain calm, Erika," then turns to the bud. "You as well, Biollante."

"Why should I listen to you, intruder!" a voice snarls from the plant.

"I am no intruder. I was invited in by Erika."

"She to is an intruder!"

"Erika was here before you!" Mosura snaps. "Therefore, you are the intruder."

A shriek is heard from all around them, as the plant does not like hearing that. "I existed long before! I was everywhere before humans came and started killing me. Only now I have a voice!"

"That is untrue," Mosura shakes her head. "For I was born of Terra itself, and I would have known of your presence. You were an incident created in a lab by a grieving father who only wanted his daughter back."

"You speak lies! If you were truly born of Terra then you would not have allowed these vermin to harm her. I can feel the pain and distraught they bring to her. And the screams. The screams of the trees and plants. The vermin deserve to be exterminated!"

"What about Erika?" Mosura gestures to the human. "She's a botanist."

That seems to only make the plant angrier. "Another scientist to invent ways to destroy Terra!"

"That's not true!" Erika defends herself. "I became a botanist because I love plants. Before I died, my father and I were working on ways to extend life of plants. So that they could live longer and exist in barren areas."

NOTE: I am considering a bit of a revised version of the Kaiju Fighters. Mostly going back over to fit some writing and dialogue mistakes. Also. I have three tie-ins to this one as what I consider the Main Story and I'm not sure many people are actually reading them. Each only has a handful of chapters and have more planned chapters. They just don't include much of Godzilla himself. They're not really necessary for the Main Story but there are often references and call backs.

Kaiju Fighters: The New York Crew for Zilla, Komi, and other planned monsters from Godzilla the Series.

Kaiju Fighters: Kong's New Island that focuses on Kong adapting to a different island along with Gorosaurus.

Kaiju Fighters: The Guardian Returns goes directly to Gamera.

I'm thinking about just putting the tie-ins' chapters as part of the Main Story.

If I do this, it would wait until after New Years as there's a planned Christmas special with Kaiju Fighters: The New York Crew that I'll be writing after a major entry for the Main Story. Possibly the longest Arc yet.

What do you guys think?
