Chapter 6: There's a Volcano! A section in a book called The Blood Games Story - Written by Patrick Roseforge

The 6th Hunger Games

This year was interesting. You see, there was this announcer guy - an ass by the name of Jacob Livos. He got some harassment complaints (also, stealing money), then got booted. I was half tempted to tell Alex to execute him, but I didn't want to bother President Roseforge to do something like that to a Capitolite citizen. Nothing interesting happened this year besides finding an island suited for making an arena. One with a convenient active volcano.

Amazingly, most of the reaped tributes this year were above the age of 16, with one exception being 12-year-old Bleutrust from 8. Now, the interesting tributes: Lennox from 1. A former child soldier, someone recorded with PTSD and depression, and he claimed to have volunteered here for a chance of improvement. Sofie from 6 is an orphaned girl of strong opinions against the Capitol, mostly due to her rebel family dying during the Great Rebellion. This got her a low score. Pythagoras from 12, along with an interesting name, he's a color-blind individual and a self-made merchant selling sugar. Paula from 2 was a hard-working tribute who happened to like cooking. Jaak from 11 was put on a tough guy act for the audience, and he does have a history fighting for money.

The other tributes are just regular workers trying to get by, nothing to note or remember. Most of them got some mediocre scores as well.

As for teams, there weren't many. Sofie from 6 and Turbo from 3 made an alliance due to hatred for the Capitol. Mimosa and his district partner Mare joined forces, and lastly was a trio alliance of Cornille from 12, Hana from 1, and Excel from 8. No one else seems to trust or was confident enough to get by alone.

Patrick's Bet: Paula Beltramo. I think the cooking thing definitely made me view her on a more positive light, I'm currently watching a cooking show.

Alex's Bet: Lennox Lancaster. He was the safest choice to bet on, considering his experience in the army, with the pragmatic mindset to boot.

-THE GAMES-

All the tributes were lined up in a circle right inside a volcano. All the tributes sweated and had terrified stares as they looked down to see the lava underneath them. The tributes were standing on a metal platform, all of them in the ends of the volcano's sides. In the middle of the platform, a small cornucopia, but it was full of enticing weapons. Luckily for all twenty-four of them, there is four entrances on the sides which can give an easy escape with wooden stairs all the way to the ground. Outside the volcano, the numbered citizens of Panem will find themselves on an island. The island with tropical trees near the middle, but the rest of the island makes up a beach. There is food and drinkable water there as well. The beach has a surprise mutt in store for the tribute.

Now, the main event will start in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1-

About 16 tributes left, seeing that in the cornucopia was nothing but weapons and no supplies. These tributes are: Hana from 1, Adam and Paula from 2, Elbora from 3, Donovan from 4, Astraia from 5, Pista from 6, Damion and Iris from 7, Excel and Bleutrust from 8, Levi and Darcy from 9, Amaya from 11 and finally, Pythagoras and Cornille from 12.

A surprising amount of people decided to not risk trying to get weapons for one reason or another. As the many tributes escaped through the entrance-ways, they found hanged gliders nearby the edges of giant openings. It's pretty clear they all have to jump off with the gliders. Thankfully for the tributes, they've been heavily recommended to take glider practice during the Training Days, so all of them know the basics. If they survive the landing, it was up to their luck and skill.

The moment they put their hands on the gliders, they were off.

In any case, I had the two rebellious tributes Turbo and Sofie, mildly drugged to make their judgement impartial and setting them up to be bloodbath tributes.

The other eight tributes came to the cornucopia (with Turbo and Sofie lagging behind) and grabbed their weapon of choice. Lennox from 1, being the ace of this year, grabbed a longsword with a scabbard. And being the ace, he got first blood. That person being Sofie, who was only just reaching the cornucopia.

Lennox ran up to her and put the sword straight into her chest with the sword capable of being seen on her back.

Sofie Mills, District 5 Female: 24th Place, Killed by Lennox. Bloodbath.

Turbo, in his drugged confused and emotional state, was angered when he heard Sofie's dying scream. He charged at Lennox without even grabbing a weapon. His opponent easily dodged Turbo's punch, and pushed him. After doing that, Lennox took the longsword out of Sofie's corpse and swinged it. The slash got Turbo's head. Brain and blood sprayed on the metal platform.

Turbo Pebbleton, District 3 Male: 23rd Place, Killed by Lennox. Bloodbath.

On the other side of the cornucopia, Jaak from 11 had a scythe in hand and wanted to try his luck at getting a kill. Finding Mimosa and Mare from 10 nearby, went in for the kill. Mimosa found himself putting his arms up, but that only gained him a large measure of pain as Jaak's scythe clawed through his skin and muscles. Mimosa fell to the ground. Seeing this, Mare only ran when she got herself a smallsword.

Jaak then raised his scythe at the downed tribute, and brought it down on Mimosa's stomach. Blood scattered, Mimosa screamed, Jaak eyes looked frightened, and backed off. Leaving Mimosa to die.

Then came Kinni from 4, who followed Mare with a twin daggers. She ran faster, but Kinni followed. Eventually, they reached the end of the entrance that only had one hang glider. Mare puts her hands on the hang glider, and she glided away. Unfortunately, Kinni had knives and had the chance to be lucky at throwing them. Kinni's knife slashed open the sailcloth, letting Mare fall to her demise, screaming.

Mare O'Hubor, District 10 Female: 22nd Place, Killed by Kinni and gravity. Bloodbath.

Kinni decided on staying nearby the tunnel opening, not willing to risk to go to the cornucopia.

Now, the only people left in the volcano's center are Gunner, Jaak, Lennox, and the currently dying Mimosa. Only one will make it out.

Lennox found the dying Mimosa holding his stomach, the younger boy asked him to end his suffering. Lennox didn't waste a second.

Mimosa Dirckx, District 10 Male: 21st Place, Killed by Jaak and Lennox. Bloodbath.

Now, Gunner was mostly left out, but he had his small chance to shine when he attacked Jaak with an ax. That said, Jaak still managed to step to the side. He did his own attack, but it didn't reach. Their pitiful attack's were constant, but resulted with barely any scratches. Lennox walked over soon enough, making Gunner and Jaak pause.

Lennox made the first move, swinging his sword and dismembering Gunner's left hand. This, in turn, made Gunner drop the ax, and hold on to his bleeding hand.

Jaak looked horrified at Lennox's ruthlessness, and noticed that he was coming after him. Lennox managed to scratch Jaak instead of killing him as his opponent backed away. Looking like he was seconds from running away, Jaak braved on to make his own swipe at Lennox. It only managed to get his scratch his face. Lennox then kicked Jaak hard onto the ground. Lennox was about to finish Jaak...

Had Gunner not made a comeback and stabbed Lennox in the shoulder. It was clear the losing a hand didn't mean he was out of the count just yet. The boy from 1 cried, and swung his longsword to Gunner instead. He missed, and Gunner then body slammed Lennox the ground. Taking the knife in his hand, Gunner used to quickly and repeatedly stab Lennox. With all the strength Lennox had left, he reached for the hammer nearby and slammed it on Gunner's head.

Gunner fell off Lennox, dying instantly. Lennox was only seconds away from catching up. Jaak was the survivor here, and he looked like he didn't believe it.

Gunner Waxweiler, District 5 Male: 20th Place, Killed by Lennox. Bloodbath.

Lennox Lancaster, District 1 Male: 19th Place, Killed by Gunner. Bloodbath.

Jaak gathered up some weapons, and went on his way to an entrance. Gliding away. Kinni was the only one on the volcano now, and she started noticing smoke coming from the lava. The girl from 4 decided it best to stay on the volcano for the rest of Day 1.

With the exception of Kinni, everyone else scattered around the island. Thankfully, everyone made it to the ground with some even landing in the water. One tribute with difficulty was the youngest one, Bleutrust had her glider stuck on a coconut tree. She climbed the tree, starting to go down carefully, but she fell. Nothing life-threatening or serious happened, but it was amusing since it was followed by a few coconuts coming off. One landed on Bleutrust tummy and she went "oof".

The other's were around, deliberately avoiding each other today. Cornille and Hana (being part the only alliance standing) found each other, with their third member, Excel, on the other side of the island. Excel was searching for his allies, but to no avail. In fact, he found someone else. Iris waved at him, all friendly like, and the two decided to travel together like it wasn't some kind of killing game.

All the tributes had some natural food to find, there were coconut trees, berries, banana's, and some nuts. The sad thing is, not many were doing any killing. Just eating, wandering, and when do they meet each other, they just pass one another. People like, Bleutrust and Adam as well as Damion and Pythagoras. The latter even talked for a bit before going their separate ways.

Some tributes cried, said tributes being Jaak, Darcy, and Pista. The only tribute doing something interesting is Astraia making weapons with sticks and stones. Also failing at it.

No other tribute was killed on Day 1. Had Lennox survived the bloodbath, there would have been more. This worried the my Gamemaking department quite a bit about the rate of dead tributes is going to be. As Day 1 ended, Kinni was still in the volcano, but after she woke up. She noticed it became hotter than yesterday and that the lava was rising. Not to mention, the large amount of smoke that was coming from said lava. She paled from the realization. Kinni immediately went on a hang glider and brought with her some weapons.

With that, we had to make a loud broadcast.

"Hello, tributes! Now, perhaps we were expecting too much from all of you. So, now, maybe we should give some motive to hurry it up. You see, the volcano on the island is active. And it will go 'kaboom', turning this island into a lava paradise. You have five days. If there's not one survivor left, we will decide to leave your fates here. Oh, and don't think about making rafts to escape the island. That's instant death. Good luck tributes," said Patrick Roseforge (aka me).

I remember being awfully gleeful when I looked at everyone's frightening faces.

On Day 2, some tributes took this warning to heart. Darcy was scared as all hell, practically hyperventilating. Went Adam from 2 came by, she grabbed a rock a threw it at him. Not that it did much, she missed. So instead, she went straight for him, trying to claw out his eyes and did badly-performed punches. To be fair, Adam didn't do much better. He was surprised, and when that went away, he attempted to punch her only for it to miss.

Neither two have weapons, so they just grabbed some sticks to beat each other up with. The only thing that resulted was a bunch of scratches until Darcy struck Adam in the eye. Adam yelled, and Darcy swung again when he was distracted from his pain. Somehow, Darcy broke Adam's left fingers. He fell, but she continued. She went on to beat Adam with the stick until it broke. The boy of 2 was injured, and when he wanted to run away, Darcy kicked his legs.

Not holding back anymore, she went on to strangle Adam.

Adam Zapal, District 2 Male: 18th Place, Killed by Darcy. Day 2

With that out of the way, there were two more deaths coming for the second day of the Sixth Hunger Games.

This is where the next scene shows up. The youngest tribute, Bleutrust was running. And then came Elbora from three, hunting her down. Not sure what came after Elbora, but she passionately went after Bleutrust. Elbora made herself a wooden knife the moment she heard the Head Gamemaker's announcement. Afterwards, she found Bleutrust. The chase was on. Shame that Bleutrust little legs couldn't save her. Elbora caught up, stabbed Bluetrust, ending her.

Bleutrust Lyon, District 8 Female: 17th Place, Killed by Elbora. Day 2.

One the beach, Amaya was just looking around. Picking up seashells. She looked like she wanted to swim, but knew better than not doing that. Shame that it didn't matter. There's a mutt hidden in the sand, and was already under Amaya. The ground shook under her, and a giant snake up and ate her whole. We call it, the sand snake.

Amaya Florent, District 11 Female: 16th Place, Killed by sandsnake mutt. Day 2.

Other events happened. There was Hana and Cornille who happen to have found Levi from Nine resting. The two discussed what to with him. Hana was in favor of leaving him alone, Cornille wasn't on the same page. The girl from 12 wanted to take him out with a rock, but Hana shouted to not do that. The shouting alerted Levi and he ran. The relationship between Hana and Cornille got frostier over this.

Then there was Pythagoras, who asked for a sponsor to give him a shovel. Hearing this curious request, he was given one. It's become clear that he's setting up a little trap. One hole filled with wooden stakes and tree leaves to hide it. He worked on it all day.

Day 3 started with a fight. Damion from 7 was just walking in the forest, he found Pista from 8, but the boy wasn't exactly in a friendly mood. There were some insults, and later threats. But it didn't end with any death brawl, Damion punched Pista, bringing the boy down and left without saying goodbye.

That wasn't the fight I was talking about. Elbora came along only five minutes later, seeing Pista holding his bloody nose. Elbora came closer, calmed Pista when he saw her, and told him to let her see his bloody nose. Pista seemed to be easier to talk to when females were involved. After foolishly coming closer to her, Elbora slashed Pista's face.

He screamed, but Elbora now showed what she's really after. Elbora went to stab him again on his shoulder. That said, Pista made his own comeback when he punched her and started to run away with a more bloodier face. He successfully ran away.

Then came Donovan from 4, most likely influenced by a new message from his mentor Arabella, decided to find some tributes. On the beach, he found Excel and Iris. With determination, he rushed forward at them. The other two were just on the beach, talking to one another. They didn't notice until it was too late when Donovan punched Iris on her face the moment she turned around. One punch was enough to see her unconscious.

Excel was surprised and frightened by this, Donovon turned to him.

"Do you want to fight? Or are you going to leave?" Donovan asked.

"W-what?"

"I'm going to let you go, but I've decided to kill her. Unless..."

The boy from 8 got the message, and ultimately decided to leave. He had a guilty look as he left.

Donovan also looked plenty hesitant himself on starting this, but continued on as he dragged Iris's body to the ocean. He put her face in the water, drowning her. She woke up, thrashing. He held on for four minutes until she finally stopped moving. The seven girl died.

Iris Overwillow, District 7 Female: 15th Place, Killed by Donovan. Day 3.

Then came gullible and scared Levi, he was walking in the forest. Scared, but not hunger. He, unfortunately, wasn't as watch as he could have been, as he tripped into Pythagoras's trap and died when his body collided with the stakes. Pythagoras wasn't there at the time, he was out to find some drinking water ponds. He was in a bit of a surprise when he see's his trap worked.

Levi Hayes, District 9 Male: 14th Place, Killed by Pythagoras. Day 3.

Now, there is just about three other's hunting. Donovan, Kinni, and Elbora. They didn't find anyone. Other's were just doing their own thing. The five girl, Astraia, finally made a spear made of wood. It's poorly made, but it's something. Darcy seemed to be jumping at shadows. Jaak didn't move much, and he was being disappointing for a tall wrestler. He could have easily done something. Paula from 2, who's just hanging out, somehow made a hammock (?). She's resting in the forest, drinking from a coconut. Paula was awfully easy-going.

In any case, there had to be one death going to the beach-stalking mutt. That tribute was going to have to Donovan, as he was closest and still wandering the coastlines of the island. Bad luck on his part. The sand-snake got out of the sand, and bit Donovan with its wide jaw. Having half of him in its mouth, shaking its head. It swallowed the rest of him in a minute.

Donovan Oceanstar, District 4 Male: 13th Place, Killed by sandsnake mutt. Day 3.

And now, it was Day 4 with the remaining half of the tributes.

Cornille and Hana softened up by the morning of Day 4. They were yelling at one another, but it eventually came down to an agreement. Hana conceded to Cornille that she would have to kill to survive and Cornille made the ultimate argument of living to see her family again, something Hana agreed with. Still didn't mean she liked it.

Also, the unspoken soon-to-be erupting volcano might have sped up their decision-making. So, it seemed that Cornille and Hana officially joined the fight. Not that found anyone.

For the Capitolite delight, there came a fight between Kinni and Jaak. The only two got supplies from the cornucopia. The girl from 4 was moving and hunting while the boy from 11 wasn't moving much at all. Kinni had her shortsword, Jaak decided to go with an ax. The two spotted each other at the same time, and Kinni was the one to make the first move. She tried to stab Jaak, but he moved out of the way. Doing his own sloppy swing, Jaak managed to get the right side of her head and cut out her ear. Kinni roared in pain, and the boy from 11 stoped attacking.

A mistake. Kinni was mad, and she was in no mood to stop. She took a dagger out with her other hand and stabbed Jaak with it. It was his turn to yell, but it was soon silenced when Kinni swiped her sword on Jaak's throat, making a bloody smile. Had it been a hand-to-hand combat, Jaak would have won. But sadly, it wasn't the case.

Jaak Satyr, District 11 Male: 12th Place, Killed by Kinni. Day 4.

Astraia now had a spear, and she was walking with it. The girl was shockingly more confident now. She eventually found Darcy. Astraia looked like she was thinking things over, but Darcy looked at her and instantly ran. Astraia went after her. After some time running and being exhausted. The two have lost one another, but Astraia still went looking. Darcy hid behind a tree, holding on to a heavy stick.

Astraia walked forward, unknowingly nearby the tree Darcy was behind, and BAM! Darcy slammed the stick on Astraia's face, and that made the girl from 5 fall to the ground. Astraia let go of her spear, making Darcy grab it and use it on her. She slammed the spear into Astraia's stomach. The girl from 5 screamed to stop, but Darcy didn't. No, Darcy had a demented laughter. She's gone bonkers by the sound of it. The continued digging into Astraia's didn't help.

Astraia Keys, District 5 Female: 11th Place, Killed by Darcy. Day 4.

Damn, Darcy was supposed to be one of the weakest tributes, but she turned into an insane wildcard.

Elbora was sponsored some poison, as well as combat knife. The girl from 3 had something to even the odds now, but she hasn't sadly run into anyone yet. Paula was still sleeping on a hammock, pretty certain even she's surprised she made this far by doing pretty much nothing. Truth is, she was found by a tribute. Said tribute is Damion from 7, but he didn't attack her and only went away. It's been made pretty clear Damion doesn't want to kill, even during a volcano countdown. Excel was crying from being all alone. That said, he was still going to search for his allies Hana and Cornille after he stopped tearing up.

Back to Jaak's and Kinni's fight. After Kinni won, she wandered like everyone else. However, she didn't notice she was being followed by Pythagoras. He heard the fighting between the two, and when it was over, he grabbed Jaax's ax. He has been started trailing her ever since, but he doesn't dare to fight her openly.

After wandering It would appear that Kinni wanted to bandage her injured head, so she called for a sponsor. Kinni got tired, and decided to rest. It was getting turning sunset. Pythagoras decided to take this opportunity to his advantage. He walked up to the sleeping Kinni, and raised his ax. Afterwards, he brought it down to her head.

Kinni Jones, District 4 Female: 10th Place, Killed by Pythagoras. Day 4.

Now, with this over with. One more sacrifice to this beach demon sand-snake. And once more, it just had to take a fan-favorite. Elbora was, at the beach, hunting for tributes. But... Well, you can guess what happened next. It ate her.

Elbora Allard, District 3 Female: 9th Place, Killed by sandsnake mutt. Day 4.

The other tributes slept, some peacefully than others.

Day 5 has come, and the final eight tributes are here.

Those tributes being: Hana Kochanski from District 1, Paula Beltramo from District 2, Pista Scott from District 6, Damion Coalfield from District 7, Excel Naumov from District 8, Darcy Yu from District 9, and Pythagoras Rand and Cornille Schult from District 12.

Who does the reader believe will win?

Now, with fashioned little wooden knives, Hana and Cornille went to find some others before the countdown. Which is tomorrow. There was smoke coming up heavily from the volcano, and the tributes were getting more than a little worried.

Damion, however, knew he should be worried, and god knows what's going on his mind when he chooses not to kill anyone. He found Excel from 8, and said hello. Excel was suspicious of his intent, and told him to stay back. Damion says that's fair, and sits down. Excel, possibly feeling lonely, has decided to talk to him. The two of them looked at the ocean... with Excel saying he's sick of looking at it.

"I mean, nothing happens in the beach," so said Excel. Not knowing of the sandsnake.

Damion shrugs. The two relaxed and continued to talk to one another. Some mundane nonsense, but it was something entertaining to see two tributes being so relaxed in their situation (not including Paula here, very pissed she's been doing nothing for so long). After an hour, they decide to split away. After a hundred steps away from each other... two someone's came along.

Hana and Cornille went out of the forests and rushed at Damion. They had wooden knives on them, but they were ready to use them on a tribute. Damion was surprised by this attack, and it was already too late to defend himself. Hana and Cornille struck him, bringing him down, and hoping that their weapons will finish this quickly. Damion was in pain, and he soon perished.

Damion Coalfield, District 7 Male: 8th Place, Killed by Hana and Cornille. Day 5.

Excel was terrified by what he saw, and said to them, "What the fuck!"

Hana and Cornille looked up, and they saw Excel. Excel was their ally, but after lost and separated, the two forgot about him. And clearly, they had their reservations and guilt when they saw Excel's betrayed look. The three allies talked, Hana and Cornille told Excel they had to. There's a deadline after all. This argument see's to be the same with Hana and Cornille in Day 2, but Excel doesn't seem to agree with them. Hana told him to 'grow a pair' or die.

There was silence then. It's clear now that Excel is now against his former 'trusted' allies after he spent all this time looking for them.

Perhaps, it would have ended with Excel died, but instead there was a sudden shake in the ground. Not one was expecting a sandsnake mutt, and now it came to interrupt this rather awful reunion between the three.

The one it decided to eat was Cornille. It was quick and sudden, but the sandsnake jumped from the ground and ate Cornille. Back to the sand it went, with two tributes shell-shocked by this sudden death.

Cornille Schult, District 12 Female: 7th Place, Killed by sandsnake mutt. Day 5.

After the shock, Hana barfed on the sand. So did Excel. There was some blood here and there, but that must have been one of the worst scores of their lives. With one ally having lost said life.

"Can... can we just go? No arguing," Hana said, tone hollow.

Excel agreed, not feeling like it. The two went to the forest, feeling only slightly safer than ever.

As for the rest of the tributes, everyone is in their a-game. Pythagoras, Darcy, Pista is trying their hardest to go and kill some other numbered tribute. Then Paula from 2, is still doing nothing but laying around there in her hammock! I'd kill her! I would, but I made a bet with my brother that she'd win, so I can't simply kill her by turning on the bomb in her neck. Dam it, the only reason I gave her a 9 in cooking is because she can make a decent taco!

There was hope, however. Pista finally found Paula. The boy from 6 knew he had to be a killer now, time was running out. And it seems that Paula is a perfect mark. He went forward, running at her. Paula noticed.

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your view. What happened was that Paula threw a coconut on the coconut tree, and all those hard-shelled fruits came down falling. Pista didn't view it as anything important, but he looked up and suddenly, those coconuts hit him harder than any food should. One coconut got his head and neck, cracking it.

Pista died from coconuts.

Pista Scott, District 8 Male: 6th Place, Killed by Paula and coconuts. Day 5.

Easily one of the most unusual deaths accounted for in the Hunger Games, but at least there won't be an ugly faced Victor. And Paula somehow made it this far almost without doing anything, quite an achievement.

Okay then, truth time.

There was a backup ship to pick up the rest of the tributes if they didn't kill one another in time, and that seems to be the case. Pythagoras seems to be trying hard to find someone, even sweating. Darcy stabbed a tree for seemingly no reason. Excel and Hana are both looking for tributes, but their hearts aren't into it. Paula... was daydreaming.

I'm afraid this island was too big for them to find each other, and that's simply not all that fair. One of them should get a shot in victory after all.

Day 6.

"Okay, remaining five tributes. Every tribute is recommended to go north, there's going to be a boat. Make sure to get there before the volcano erupts and destroys the island with you," I announced.

All the tributes went to the ship, with the exception of Darcy. Who doesn't seem which way is north... Whatever. Darcy was losing it the most, and probably not the best numbered person to become a Victor.

There was a boom, the whole volcano finally sprayed the lava. The red-yellow magma flushed the one wonderful landscape with hot steam. One could hear Darcy's scream from all the way to the Capitol as she was burned to death.

Darcy Yu, District 9 Female: 5th Place, Killed by lava. Day 6.

On the ship remains four wary tributes. Pythagoras, Paula, Excel, and Hana all looked at one another with suspicion. Everyone was given a weapon now for this final fight. It was time to end it, so all four tributes were told.

Pythagoras, with the ax, could now finally have a chance to use it. He brought it to Hana's stomach. The girl from 1 simply wasn't quick enough, and she died from blood loss quickly. She said "I'm sorry." We are not certain who she was talking to when she said that. Hana had a couple younger siblings, all of them crying when they saw her on the big-screen back in District One.

Hana Kochanski, District 1 Female: 4th Place, Killed Pythagoras. Day 6/Finale.

Excel, outraged, by his ally. While their relationship was a bit soured a bit, Excel forgave both Hana and Cornille for killing Damion. They were right, after all. About this whole thing. That said, he's still plenty angry about everything and now he wants to take this anger out on Pythagoras.

He charged Pythagoras with a sword, and swung his sword in a sloppy manner that made the boy from 12 easily dodge it. Pythagoras went swing the ax, only managing to cut his arm. The strikes and swings happened five times each, and both tributes managed to survive them with some minor bleeding gashes. But once managed to win, that being Excel when he gave a battle roar and stabbed Pythagoras midsection. Excel got his victory and revenge.

Pythagoras Rand, District 12 Male: 3rd Place, Killed by Excel. Day 6/Finale.

After all that fighting, however, Excel forgot there was a another tribute on board.

Yeah, Paula was simply watching on the sidelines the whole time the other two were fighting. She was waiting for the right moment.

And it was too late. Paula walked up quickly to him and pushed him with all her might. Excel lost his balance as he was pushed back, and he fell off the boat. He was wagging his arms around in the water, crying to help, but Excel wasn't suited in this situation.

He didn't know how to swim.

Excel Naumov, District 8 Male: 2nd Place, Killed by Paula and water. Day 6/Finale.

Paula Beltramo, District 2 Female: 1st Place. Victor of the 6th Hunger Games.

You know, 99.90% of Panem was surprised by Paula's victory (myself included). Even Paula herself was shocked considering she said "I don't believe it" after it was announced she won.

Bio: Paula came from a humble family, one that worked in labor. A diligent family that was struggling financially (like many family's in all twelve Districts), and Paula had to work hard all day. So, she became a part-time chef and waitress in some breakfast restaurant. Not much in the way of drama, she was a ordinary person who has a track for being hard-working, which is strange considering the laziness she displayed during her time in the Games.

Victory Tour: The tour was polite, all things considered. People didn't view her as anything special, other than having the luck of the devil. All she did was read out of her speech cards, and she made it sound like she was doing an annoying chore. Only her own district was happy to see alive.

After the HG: Paula admitted during her time in the Hunger Games didn't affect her much and that she was thankful to be alive as she didn't think she'd win. Being a Victor, Paula get's a nice house and decently large payoff. Both of it was enough to keep her family secure for a long time. But she got bored, so she opened up her own restaurant called 'The Coco House'. It serves donuts, coffee, and smoothies. It became popular due to her status as Victor, not to mention her whole arena was an island based. In her 30s, she got married and had a daughter of her own. She has a happy ending unlike some.

A/N: Patrick: That was unbelievable. The thing is, I really didn't care for the tributes this time around. Well, maybe I wanted Excel to win, but eh. Still won my bet for the first time.

Alex: I know right? Paula managed to win by almost doing nothing. Helps that she had good rolls (plus two Critical 20s rolls). The rest of the tributes were a blast, some died too early, but it is the way it is.
