Hello everybody, as I have told y'all, I'm going back to school on the 12th of August. This means that I'm going to be working a lot with homework, my life, getting service hours, etc. It's going to take me some days, weeks, or months to be able to complete the story, but remember that I will finish it as I have no intention of ending the story. Thank you and enjoy Chapter 5.
All Characters are owned by SEGA, except for some characters, such as the new villain.
Chapter 5: "A New Enemy and a (Un)Lovable Home"
When Tails said the words "Westside Island" his mind was in an emotional turmoil. He had never told anybody, except Sonic, about what happened on the island. He never thought that he would go back to that island, he didn't want to go there. He hated that place, he hated how the people treated him, he hated how he was bullied. He hated how he was hurt whenever his bullies beat him up. He hated it whenever the bullies destroyed his inventions. He wanted to destroy the island, kill all those who mistreated him. He had sacrificed his life saving Cocoa Island from the armada and returned to his home. He expected to be treated with respect and for them to recognize him as a hero, instead the response he got was being treated like an outcast, a criminal, a Freak.
His mind was interrupted as Amy spoke to the others. He was a little guilty for not listening to what she and the others said, but he was able to guess that they were going to plan their attack on Eggman.
Tails ended the call, but in doing so, he started to have bad memories of when he used to live in Westside island. The only thing he could do was curl up into a ball as his bullies kicked him, calling him names, pulling his tails, punching him. He cried to himself as these memories flooded into him. He never asked to look this way, he never wanted the two tails. Sonic had tried so hard to tell Tails that he was unique, but he would always wound up in the same spot.
He was tired of feeling this way. He felt weak, like a coward hiding from his own shadow. He never told the others his intentions to the people of the village, no, he couldn't, they would see him as a freak, a psycho who wanted to inflict pain to those who wronged him.
He was a young kit, but he still sacrificed his life to help those in the village and to help those in Cocoa Island against the Armada, but still, they treated him unfairly and kicked him out into the forest.
He was glad that he met Sonic and that he was lucky enough that Sonic took him with him. He wouldn't forgive himself if he started his horrific plan to kill, burn, and leave the villagers to death as a painful way for them to see justice. These thoughts would always terrify him, they were a reason why he couldn't sleep sometimes, and they reminded him of what he could have been. A cold blooded killer.
It took some time for Tails to calm down and reassure himself from all of those thoughts. He refocused on the objective and packed up to be ready for departure. It took him 10 minutes to get everything ready, but he also remembered that he was late to the meeting that the others had planned, so he left in a hurry, using his tails to reach the place faster.
When he got there, he could see that everyone was there. Due to the time he called about Eggman's location, he was able to see that many were tired and sleepy from being woken up to come for this meeting. He felt a little guilty waking everyone up in the middle of the night, but it was for the best.
He opened the door and swiftly came in, causing a loud noise from the door, which caused some of the others; those who were falling asleep, to wake up in a sudden panic.
"TAILS!" Everybody shouted due to the loud boom that the door made when he closed it. "Sorry" Tails said as he walked to the table and sat down with the others.
There was a lot of tension in the room, he was able to feel it. With the news of Dr. Eggman and the new hostility attacking and obliterating villages and cities in just mere seconds has caused panic over the whole world once again. They had a similar event some time ago, in which Sonic was also captured and Eggman was almost able to rule the world, but this time, it was different. Eggman was much more cruel than usual, he was no longer the laughing matter whenever they defeated him, or an easy opponent to them. He was killing civilians, trapping them, his actions to those who were captured were never known, only theories of what the horrible doctor was doing to them.
They needed to act fast and find a way to stop Eggman's terror over the world.
G.U.N and other groups have tried and failed to stop Eggman's attacks on the city, even wiping out the whole entire army of G.U.N. Many villages and cities have fallen in just a few hours.
Tails knew that Dr. Eggman had snapped because his current actions are unusual for his character whenever they fought him. Sure, he would occasionally try to kill Sonic and his friends, or endangering civilian lives as a way to pressure them to surrender, but they always managed to defeat his plans one way or another.
Tails was lost in his mind and he knew that one of his friends was calling him, but he wanted to think about what was happening, what did Eggman do with Sonic, and why, from all the times that they fought against him, he cracked (no pun intended).
"TAILS!"
This sudden outburst scared Tails back to reality
"Hu-what?"
"Tails, do you feel okay, you were zoned out for some time."
"Yeah… I'm okay"
He knew that he was lying to himself, and he was able to tell that the others didn't believe him, but due to the situation, they didn't question him further. He was glad because he didn't want to talk about his feelings or have a sob fest in the middle of the room.
The meeting went fine, some arguments here and there, ideas and plans falling from left to right. Tails didn't know why he felt this way, it could be just him growing up, or the lack of Sonic's presence is causing him major discomfort as he wasn't used to him being this long away.
He shook these thoughts out of his head as he went back to his workshop to get the Tornado. Amy and Knuckles will join them, the others would arrive in other ways. It was a nice walk, but he knew that he needed to hurry, there was no time to waste when Eggman was out in public.
He hopped on the Tornado and started the engine, with both Knuckles and Amy getting on the Tornado afterwards. It's been some time since Tails was able to fly the Tornado, the whole 'trying to find Sonic and Eggman' situation has been exhausting for the fox, but he's glad to be flying once again.
They arrived in the middle of the day, the whole place was in ruin. The village, now replaced by a crater. The houses burnt down, there were no villagers here. It was a ghost town. As the group explored the area, they felt more uncomfortable as the evidence left showed the real madness of the doctor, leaving an eerie chill in the air as they tried to find him.
They knew that sometimes the news would be exaggerating about Eggman's attacks in the past, but this took the cake, for the first time in so long, they all felt true fear.
As they searched throughout the island, Tails was able to see the abandoned buildings of the chemical plant and the casino that he and Sonic had gone to when they first met and fought Eggman together. If it weren't for his past on this island, or the situation that they were facing, he would have enjoyed a nice nostalgic trip back here.
They found a path down the forest with some of the trees torn down or destroyed, probably an invitation for them to come.
They slowly and carefully followed the path. In the distance, they could see Dr. Eggman and a new figure that didn't look like a normal mobian. His body was fully black, not even the Sun's light was able to show any of his facial features. If it weren't for the purple aura surrounding his body, he would've looked like a giant black spot in the world.
"Ah, I see that you've seen my friend. Did you like the decoration that we did to this place?"
The others were getting ready into a fighting stance as they prepared for a battle.
"I will say, now with the blue rodent gone, my plan on taking over the world is much easier. You nuisances are nothing with my friend over here. Erebos, go destroy them and make me a show to watch."
After this, Erebos went with the command. If one were to blink for a millisecond, he would already be gone, for this is what happened to everyone. Espio and Vector were defeated in just seconds as Erebos appeared out of nowhere, punched, kicked, and even launched them to rocks, trees, anywhere, leaving both of them unconscious on the ground.
Everybody was in shock as they hadn't expected this "Erebos" to be this fast, nor this powerful. Left to Right, everyone was getting their butts kicked by Erebos. From getting hit in the gut, to getting thrown full force to a tree, at the end, almost everybody was on the ground with minor injuries and with no energy or power to keep fighting.
The only two that remained were Tails and Shadow who were looking everywhere for Erebos to attack from.
"Who the hell is this guy?!"
Tails wasn't able to answer as he was stuck in fear. He was looking everywhere, his ears flinching to any sound of the wind whistling or the grass moving from a quick swish motion in the air. Erebos was faster than Sonic, even faster than the last person that was able to beat Sonic a few months ago, Infinite.
As the leaves and the grass were moving through the wind much faster than before and the occasional zoom that was heard when Erebos was moving made it easy for them to know that he was going to attack again.
So they prepared for Erebos' attack, but they were too slow.
Erebos came, grabbed Tails by the neck, punched him hard, and kicked him in the gut into a tree. He was injured due to the impact of the tree and the powerful punches of Erebos. He could only see Shadow fighting Erebos for a few minutes, landing hits on him, but his efforts were in vain as he was slammed into the ground.
"Hohohohoho! How the mighty have fallen. Let's go Erebos, we have a world to conquer." 'And a party to celebrate.' Eggman thought to himself.
As they were leaving, Tails got back on his feet, his hand on his abdomen, walking painfully to the Tornado. He was still not done fighting, he can't fail Sonic now for he was close and he knew it.
He saw Eggman and Erebos leaving, he got into the Tornado, ignoring the pain and burning in his body and abdomen as he started the engine. As every millisecond passed without the plane moving, Tails was growing frustrated, but it left when the Tornado lifted off the ground.
As Tails was in the air, he felt anger in his body and in his eyes, his fingers on the machine guns that were placed on his plane that he never thought he would use before. He pushed the trigger, sending bursts of lasers into Eggman's 'Egg Mobile'. It hit, but his plane was pulled apart and destroyed by Erebos in a few seconds.
Tails, now with no control over the Tornado, could only watch as the ground came closer, the ejection failing and the cockpit cover locked with no possibility of escaping, he closed his eyes as he believed that this would be his end, he didn't want to die, even less when he couldn't save Sonic.
The last thing he heard was the sound of the plane being torn apart by the trees and a big bang as he hit the control center of the Tornado, his eyes were heavy and he was unconscious.

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I have posted anything, but I finally finished chapter 5. I started this chapter in September, but due to school, laziness, and other factors, I wasn't able to finish the chapter until now. I was stuck on some parts as I didn't know what to write, but after some research on the Sonic Universe, how the characters talk, important facts of many things, etc, I was able to finish the chapter today.
