Chapter 10: A Guide On How To Scare Rebel Kids. A section in a book called The Blood Games Story - Written by Patrick Roseforge.
The 10th Hunger Games/2nd Quintet Quell
This year, it was announced, "On the 10th anniversary of the Hunger Games, as a reminder to the rebels that they should let bygones be bygones, the Capitol will collect rebellious tributes and teach the Districts a harsh lesson on not learning the past."
The 7th Hunger Games were not forgotten. No, it was not. The tributes were chosen based on having rebel parents or being suspected rebels themselves.
One of the tougher tributes might come out of this alive: Tamara from 1, a stoic and trained fighter with her father being a Norman Vitalia (The Main Leader of the rebels). Spike from 2 has a brother who escaped capture, so Spike was put in instead. Hardread and Maisie from 5 are suspected terrorists who bombed government buildings. The two are also a couple. Ingrid, from the usually loyal District 4, was a rude, anti-authoritarian girl who looked like she's been in a few fights. Lastly, Claudia from 6, a captured spy that was going to be executed, but we decided that sending her to this Hunger Games would be worthy punishment.
Other tributes were less impressive. All of them simply had rebel parents and were reported to insult the Capitol at times. Darya from 9 cried all the time, wishing her parents were here. Gaio from 9 proclaimed he was loyal to the Capitol and cursed his parents - so kudos to him. Velma from 3 was more outrageous than the other tributes (who all behaved, but most were simply cold and sent pointless death glares). She constantly refused to behave and badmouthed the Capitol whenever. Velma tried to escape twice but was stunned by a Peacekeeper both times.

Patrick's Bet: Claudia Art. She is a trained agent with guts. It's hard not seeing her win considering how she never flinched from interrogation.
Alex's Bet: Leon Digit. Alex had no real reason to pick him, he just felt like making a gamble.
-THE GAMES-
All the tributes this time weren't around a cornucopia.
They were all sent to different houses (and one cave).
This arena is a street filled with at least thirty different houses of varying styles and sizes. Every tribute was going to find themselves waking up in separate homes, and will soon find out the horrors that await them.
Starting with Gaio from 9, a child of rebels who proclaimed loyalty to the Capitol, he woke up first. He was in a mansion at the end of the street. Gaio looked around, finding the fancy place to his liking.
Eventually, he looked around this mansion, finding nice beds to jump on. Soon enough, he found the kitchen. He saw a butler there, cooking. The butler gave Gaio some tasty treats which he happily accepted. He savored the delicious treat. A minute later, he noticed that the butler is not what he seemed to be. The butler's smile was wider and wider, more than humanly possible. The monster revealed himself. He opened his face, revealing teeth, and ate Gaio's head whole before he could even react. The butler monster then picked a napkin and cleaned his mouth.
This was Gaio's reward for his proclaimed loyalty - a quick death.

Maybe some will be disappointed that there will be no bloodbath this time around. But everyone knew that these games were meant to torture the tributes, not entertain the Capitol this time around.
All the tributes woke one at a time. All of them face different monsters of their own.

Pleasant

Pleasant from 7 was now in a simple suburban house, wary of her surroundings. She's tiptoeing the house she's in, sneaking around. Soon, she saw a small boy. Pleasant thought the small boy was a tribute, perhaps. She surprised many viewers when she took a kitchen knife and ran straight toward the boy. The boy fell, but once she sees the eyeless face and fangs, she screamed.
The boy monster was still breathing and went to get up, but Pleasant didn't want that. She stabbed the monster smaller than her into something recognizable. Pleasant stabbed it in the heart many times. When that didn't work, Pleasant stabbed it in the head until the brain matter was empty. That killed it for good. And so, Pleasant survived her monster.
That is the task, they must all survive in their houses. Pleasant has, Gaio hasn't. What about the other 22 tributes?

Leon

In a nice little trailer, Leon from 3 wakes up. He looks around and finds it to be rather messy. Mostly cause he seems blood on the flood which freaks this adorable little guy out. He might get this deal with one.
There was a doll in the kitchen, which again, scares Leon. Understandably, this doll looks like it was run over. It was red-haired, had a sinister grin, and had many scars on its face. Leon stared at the doll for a minute, wondering why such a creepy doll was there.
The doll blinked, which made Leon pale. Chucky the killer doll chuckled and took out a knife next to him. He jumped Leon. Out of reflex, the boy who was only a head taller than the doll kicked him away and got his own weapon from the kitchen. A might pan. Chucky got back up, and his eyes widened, "Oh shit."
Leon went to hit the doll with a pan many times over. Trying to whack this doll like it was a fly that needed to be squished. The stuffing from the doll and the electronic parts of it came loose, ending it before it could do any sort of damage. In the end, the doll underestimated the brat. Another young one survived their first ordeal.

Austin

The tribute from 6 was not in a good mood, finding himself in a house that resembles a cabin. There's a nice sofa and rug in the living room. A couple of bedrooms upstairs. He tried to leave, but the door was locked. He is considerably worried. So, he did what he could - scavenge the home he was in. Austin found himself a shotgun in the closet in one of the bedrooms. A lucky find! I know I said no firearms allowed, but I decided to make one expectation for this one to spice things up. Plus, I could just blow him up with the tracker if he does anything too insane.
Austin reloaded the shotgun and cocked it. After that, he heard footsteps. Austin aimed the shotgun and waited for his monster.
As soon as the door opened, Austin fired at it - it turned out to be a large man with a hockey mask. The shotgun blew Jason Voorhees's face off. Not plot armor for this slasher villain. Austin killed it easily, looking proud. It would look like this rebel brat had some training with shooters.
Three tributes got lucky so far, but what about the next one?

Claudia
-
Claudia from 6, a girl who still suffered from bruises from her previous interrogation from Peacekeepers woke up in a large hut-like building. The building was a giant open room, and there was a cauldron in the middle of it.
Next to Claudia, she saw a stereotypical green-skinned witch crackling. Claudia proceeded to punch the witch in the face, giving it a bloody nose. The witch raised her wand and shot a ray of something which hit Claudia. The girl from Six must have felt her blood is on fire. She knelt down and gritted her teeth.
The witch continued to crackle and went to get some rope for Claudia. To the witch's surprise, Claudia got back up and tackled the witch to the ground. There was a struggle as Claudia wanted to take the wand away, but sadly for her, when she reached for the wand, she found it was practically a part of the witch. The witch headbutted Claudia and zapped her. The witch zapped Claudia again and again until she went unconscious.
The witch laughed as she went to tie Claudia and put her into the witch's large cauldron.

Velma
-
Velma from 3 was a rebellious child who continued to be a rebel. Attempting to escape twice and slandering the Capitol's good name. She should not have done that.
For this particular tribute, she got a nightmare monster. She was in a nice home, but she did not get a chance to see it. Instead, she's in bed as she experienced death again and again.
From an outsider's few, we see a burned, disfigured man. He's wearing a dirty red-and-green-striped sweater and brown fedora, and trademark metal-clawed, brown leather, right-hand glove.
On the front door of this house, it says: DON'T DISTURB UNLESS YOU REALLY WANT TO DIE.
No tribute went in and saved Velma. She was killed in her nightmares at least a hundred times before she begged for mercy. The nightmare slasher monster did not have any. In any case, no one knows at what time she truly died or when her mind stopped working. But let's just say she died the moment she woke up.
Velma Moore, District 3 Female: 23rd Place, Killed by Freddy Krueger. Day 1.

Tamara
-
The girl from One found herself in a cold rundown home. Tamara's breath is visible to her and she rubs her shoulders to warm herself. The walls are frosty and the windows are visible as it's covered in ice. She attempted to open the door but failed.
There's some kind of icy snowball spirit with one hand whirling around Tamara and she felt even colder. She attempts to bat away this spirit of winter, but once she did, she pulled her arm right away. The impact of touching this monster had turned her hand black. Meaning she had 4th-degree frostbite. The pain must have been unbearable, but Tamara handled herself well and looked on steely.
Knowing that she now has to take this spirit seriously, she got away from it. Tamara did her best to break the windows and the door, but nothing would budge. The spirit touched her, freezing her skin. The pain she felt was terrible, but Tamara tried her best to escape.
Tamara failed.
There is nothing left other than a black frostbitten corpse with wide-open eyes. It was only in her last moments that she allowed herself to cry.

Spike

Spike woke up in a one-room building. Once he got out of bed, he saw an ugly thing on the other side of the building. Spike's monster looks like a crossbreed between a man and an ape. It had white fur, and a face of an old man, but the body of a gorilla.
The Ape-man stared at Spike intensely, but wasn't attacking. Spike did not leave his bed because he had a feeling that the moment he left it, he will die.
He looked around, trying to see a weapon he could get. He saw a sword. On the other side of the wall. Where the Ape-man is.
"I'm so fucking unlucky," so said Spike bitterly. A boy who never did anything rebellious, but was sent here because his brother skipped town. He sees one chance of victory, but he does not look like he could make it in time.
Impatiently, Spike gave his luck a shot to grab the sword. He hoped he can dodge this Ape-man to get it.
Hope is foolish.
The Ape-man caught Spike and pummeled him. The fists kept on beating and beating Spike until there is nothing recognizable about the boy.

Hardread

In a nice two-story condo, Hardread fights against something that one cannot see. An invisible man.
Something bites Hardread's arm, taking a piece of him.
Perhaps it would be suitable to call it an invisible beast.
Hardread tried to fight against it, but he kept on missing. He was punching and kicking aimlessly, but it did appear to be the invisible beast away for a few minutes. When he stopped for a second to take a breath, the invisible beast came once more and bit him.
The rebel boy had enough and took the post of the staircase, pulling hard to take it out. That succeeded and soon whipped it as it heard the hidden monster run at him. The monster took a blow, the dining room table was moved to confirm that hit.
Hardread saw a hand sanitizer and napkins nearby. He combined them together quickly, making sticky napkins, and threw them in the air. A couple landed on the slow-moving invisible creature, and Hardread now knows where it is. He grinned.
That invisible creature got smacked around now from the wooden weapon Hardread acquired and slammed it dead. The door in the house he was in was unlocked. Hardread went out to try to find his girlfriend, Maisie.

Calum
-
Finding himself in a futuristic home, Calum from 12 looked around impressed by the products that surround him. Calum is from a poor family, so he finds this fascinating. Such as the holo-screen. He somehow forgot he was in the Hunger Games.
Maybe he thought he was in a dream.
He turned on the holo-screen, putting on a romantic-comedy movie.
The monster was just around the corner. A tall grey thing with big black eyes. A monster that looks like a stereotypical alien.
It was sneaky, not making a sound as Calum was distracted. The alien grabbed the surprised tribute away and strangled the boy to near death. But that would have been merciful. The monster shaped by pop culture would kill Calum only before doing excruciating torture. Calum would be desiccated and experimented on until he died from blood loss.
If only he paid more attention to his surroundings.
Calum Lambart, District 12 Male: 20th Place, Killed by an Alien. Day 1.

Klara
-
This one found herself in a camper van. There is only one entrance out, but there is a zombie in the way. The zombie is chained up to the wall next to it, but far enough not to kill Klara when she's sleeping in her bed.
The girl from 2 screamed at seeing a walking corpse biting hungrily in her direction. She calmed when seeing it was chained. She sees a bat next to her.
Klara stared at the baseball bat. Then the zombie.
With some self-encouragement, she rushed the zombie and beat it to death. Klara did not know anything about zombie movies, but she was aiming for the zombie's head regardless and ended it.
"I did it! Yes, Klara, you got this!"
She did a weird dance at her victory over one of the easier monsters here.

Mike
-
This tribute is in a farmhouse. Made up of old wood and Mike can see the ancient stove there. Mike heard some skittering from inside the house. There was also giggling. This panicked the tribute from Four.
He found himself a pitchfork and looked around for whatever monster is there.
A dark gremlin with white stripes came out, crackling with sharp teeth. It waited and attacked. There some a struggle, and the Gremlin threw some canned food at Mike. Surprising Mike enough for the Gremlin to take a bit out of his leg. "Yummy!" the Gremlin said.
Outraged, Mike managed to stab the Gremlin with his pitchfork. He got it in the throat, spilling a lot of blood from the monster. Picking it up and attached the pitchfork to the wall with the monster on it. The monster was weak and Mike survived after he saw the Gremlin stop struggling and lay still on the wall.
Mike had to find a bandage for his leg.

Iva and Fabian
-
The two tributes found themselves in an expensive condo building, right on the spacious top floor. The two tributes looked at each other in wariness.
But Fabian said to Iva that he does not want to hurt her because she reminds her of his little sister. Iva called for a truce, which was graciously accepted. They looked around, finding nothing useful.
Soon, the two heard the elevator moving, and they were wary of what was going to happen when the elevator reaches their floor.
When it did, two entities came out. These two monsters looked like Iva and Fabian, if they were deformed and rushed. The doppelgangers rushed to kill the two, shouting gibberish.
Fabian fought monster Fabian. The boy from 7 struggled to fight, dodged the strikes, and grabs the monster version of himself tried. Fabian, instead, grabbed the monster and threw it over the window. Monster Fabian fell a few stories to its death.
Iva fought monster Iva. The girl from 10 killed her version easier. She grabbed a lamp and hit monster Iva in the head with it. It fell to the ground, and Iva looked disgusted at it.
Both tributes came out alive and reassured one another. Both replied with grace. They moved to the elevator and went to one of the lower floors to scavenge. They paused when they see the lower floor had other doppelgangers of other tributes. The monsters and tributes paused when they stared at one another. Iva then urgently pressed the close button over and over again before another doppelganger could reach the elevator.
They decided not to scavenge the rest of the condo after that.

Maisie
-
Maisie was in a motel building and currently running as she was being chased by a computer monster. It can be described as a walking computer with metal tentacles for legs. The metal tentacles strike at her, but most of the time, they missed and damaged the wall instead.
Finding herself in one motel room, she locked the door, but that will not hold it for long. The knocking went on. She went to the bathroom and saw a bucket there. Maisie quickly poured it with water.
Soon enough, the door handle was broken and the computer monster went inside the room. Maisie got the water bucket and proceeded with throwing it. At the same time, one of the tentacles attacked.
The water managed to destroy the computer, glitching its processors. But the tentacle did reach Maisie and disfigured her left hand. A couple of fingers fell off, and she's clutching it in pain. She tried to best to bandage it, but this pain won't go away anytime soon.
A couple of minutes later, she went out to find Hardread.

Ruben

This tribute was eaten alive the moment he left his room. Some lizard creature ate him, slowly but surely. Ruben could not do much against it. He tried, but beating his fists against this creature did nothing. If only his parents weren't rebels.

Marek

Another tribute finds himself in a regular single-family home. Marek is currently tiptoeing around as he got away from his room. He found sleeping people in the beds, but these people were not people. They were mutated humanoids with greenish skin and hideous faces.
Marek slowly walked, hoping nothing bad would happen.
The idiot did not notice the squeaky toy on the ground. A superhero squeaky toy and it made a loud enough noise that it woke one mutant. When the mutant screamed and got the other two from resting.
Marek went downstairs and wanted to find something useful. He found a chessboard and threw it at one of the incoming mutants, but that did nothing. The mutants caught him, tackling him to the ground. They had their large nails clawing at him. They used their strength to pull his arms off his body and eat it as he screamed and cried. Marek died from blood loss.

Miriam

In a nice little Victorian home, there was a girl from 12. Miriam was braver than most, as she tried to explore the home she was in. She looked around, not finding much. Everything in this house was too old-fashioned and out of Miriam's expertise.
Well, there are dresses. So Miriam wore those dresses, one at a time. She had nothing else to do. Nothing to do but wears some new fancy dresses. Miriam looked like she was enjoying herself regardless. When she tried the green one, it was not as it appeared to be.
The dress turned out to be a slime and caught Miriam by surprise. A gross jellylike figure that could transform into a dress. Apparently. [Patrick: No idea who thought of this one]. She was suffocating slowly for a whole hour before she died.

Darya
-
There were in the basement of the regular home.
Inside this dark basement, there's an evil clown. An evil clown with a red balloon is scaring Darya the fuck out. The one known as Pennywise is shapeshifting into Darya's worse fears - bears, peacekeepers, and a waffle. There is no context for that last fear.
Pennywise was about to eat her, revealing many upon many teeth, but did not account for one thing.
That the cowardly Darya Colt would lose her mind as a result of the torture Pennywise inflicted. She went berserk and damaged Pennywise - a being that feeds off fear - to such an extent that she managed to fight off the fear-based monster.
Darya beat Pennywise with her own fists, wildly fighting off reason and fear. In the end, the clown feared her.

Sandra
-
She's in a container home. Almost nothing inside it, but a rugged one that had something breathing under it. Sandra saw the monster come at her and got clawed at.
Left with no choice, the girl from 11 ended up fighting the chupacabra. Something resembling a dog, but skinny to an unhealthy degree, and comes bearing large fangs. Sandra puts up a good fight against it. She got some licks in, punching it in the face. Only Sandra got lots of bleeding claw marks on her.
In the end, the fight ended up with Sandra throwing the chupacabra out of the only window.
"And stay out!" She cried out.
Sandra won, but she's not feeling too good from the aftermath of that fight. She fell to the ground and took a nap.

Ingrid
-
Rather than a house, it looked like Ingrid was in a cave. Trapped with giant spiders. Three giant spiders. They were drooling.
For the girl from 4, who has experience fighting, fighting these three looked far easier than it should have been. She dodged the bites and strikes from the spider's long legs, managed to cripple one of them by breaking said legs, and redirected a giant spider to attack the other.
This cave was more of an underground basement than anything as Ingrid Lud found a ladder and left.

Melite

There was a pale woman with long hair, a trench coat, scissors in her hands, and a white mask. Of course, the scariest part is her carved-out mouth, looking like something tried to cut it out.
She stared and stared at the fear-stricken tribute. Melite from 8 could not move. It was already too late for her.
The Slit-mouthed woman revealed a most gruesome smile as she stabbed Melite with her scissors. There were many bloody smiles carved on her in the end.
Melite Hides, District 8 Female: 16th Place, Killed by the Slit-mouthed woman. Day 1.

Keb Conda and Avelino
-
The two of them are in a tower. A modern version of a medieval tower, with a condo on top, and a long set of stairs in the center where if one tripped, it would be a long way down.
Avelino from 8 and Keb from 11 did not try to talk to one another. The two of them found one another when opened their room doors and fought. The two ran and punched one another. Exchanging blow after blow. The fight ended when Keb pushed Avelino to the staircase and Avelino died, cracking his head while rolling down the stairs.

Sadly for young Keb, there is more trouble on the way.
Rats. Bunch of fearsome rats.
Keb, for the most part, dodged and kicked these rats with large chompers. The tribute went to the fridge downstairs and feed these rats whatever he found. The rats ignored Keb in favor of eating up. When Keb found that he could not leave through the front door - he found some poison on the drawers and used it on the rotten cheese he left in the fridge.
The rats ate well but fell over just the same.
Keb made it out alive. He looked sick when he saw Avelino's body at the bottom of the stairs.
The FIRST ORDEAL is over.
10 tributes have suffered gruesome deaths.
14 tributes made it out alive.
Ingrid was right next door to the witch's hut. She shrugged as she decided to go there. She heard screams of pain. She paused, at first. The girl went straight in.
In the hut, she saw a crackling witch. Ingrid destroyed a full-length mirror with her elbow and took a piece of glass before going for her. The witch heard Ingrid then, and aimed her wand. The girl from 4 dodged swiftly and went to go for the kill. Ingrid struck her piece of glass in the witch's eye. The witch perished but not before firing off another wand blast that Ingrid only barely managed to not get hit with.
Ingrid found the screaming tribute inside the cauldron, being boiled alive. She pulled Claudia away, and the girl who looked like she has a bit of a rash said "Thanks". Ingrid took Claudia to the little hay bed in this hut and let her rest.
Hardread screamed out Maisie's name as he walked down the street of this dreaded neighborhood. He sees Austin with a shotgun, which made Hardread pause in shock. Austin merely smiled and walked away, amused that he scared him. Seeing that his fellow rebel did not intend to play the game, Hardread continued to call out for Maisie.
Maisie heard him as she walked out of her 'home'. She smiled and called out for her 'Har-Bear'. Hardread and Maisie hugged one another and kissed. Hardread worried over her hand, but Maisie that everything will be okay. They made out. For a long while. Some of the surviving rebels saw this. Iva and Fabian were rolling their eyes as they walked the street. Keb, at the top of the tower he was in, made a face.
Leon, a cheery little fellow, said "hi" to a nearby Sandra. The two had a discussion, exchanged some small talk, and then partnered up. This process was repeated when they also see a happy Klara nearby. Klara kind of creeped them out with her smile but got along otherwise.
Klara proposed that they should all not kill one another and live in the mansion at the end of the neighborhood. These tributes in particular were more rebellious than the other Hunger Games (minus the 7th HG), so they should all have an easier time allying with one another. Klara, Leon, and Sandra went to the street and told them about teaming up. They all insulted the Capitol in the meanwhile.
These blatant rebellious actions were expected. So it's a good thing that it doesn't matter that these tributes in particular do not need to kill one another.
11 tributes met up in the mansion. Ingrid, Claudia (who is held up by Ingrid as she is having a bit of a hard time standing up), Hardead, Maisie, Austin, Klara, Leon, Sandra, Mike from 4, Fabian, and Iva.
Those tributes were the ones that left their 'homes' as it were. Some did not.
Pleasant from 7 has not left the comfortable home she is in, perhaps too scared to leave otherwise. She went to make a small alarm trip-wire at the front door. Keb from 11 stayed in the tower and decided on making his own trap - slippery staircases. There's Darya (who was unconscious for some time), who looked out the front door and peaked at her surroundings. Only for a second before closing the door again with a yelp. These three tributes decided to go solo.
The large rebel alliance went to the mansion and found the creepy butler there. Austin attempted to shoot at the monster, but missed the shot. The butler managed to get a bite off Sandra right down to her bone. The little girl screamed at her gaping wound. Klara then hit the butler with a bat, and the rest of the tributes had a go at the butler monster until it stopped moving.
They took care of Sandra's wound, but her left arm is being held by a cast now. The alliance made themselves at home in this mansion. They ate at the large dinner table and talked. Klara continued to smile and make jokes, and Leon did the same. Hardread and Maisie were chatting idly. Austen bragged about having been trained with guns, but Sandra told him not good enough to his embarrassment. The rest of the day passed well for them.
Day 2 began with a mist surrounding this arena. The outside of the homes the tributes were at were decidedly unseeable.
Everyone woke up and wonder what the hell people are going to do.
Darya Colt looked outside, scared out of her mind. She realized she did not have any more food in the freezer and hoped to go next door and hold up there. She opened the door and rushed out. A mistake on her part. She tripped, and the mist around her practically made her blind.
Then, something happened to Darya. Creepy eyes were around her and looked like the mist strangled her. Darya's eyes were blurry and she wobbled around. The tribute screamed as madness overtook. She went to the tower to attack Keb.
This Mist with Eyes as it was called affects a tributes mind, causing them to perceive the world angrily and will not stop until they kill one person. A good way to force rebellious tributes to fight one another.
Keb woke up on the top of his tower home and heard the brainwashed Darya scream. He hoped that she won't be able to come to the top as he made the stairs too slippery, but Darya managed it as she ran with enough grace and balance not to be hurt by it.
"NO! Nononono!" Keb shouted in fear and realized he didn't have a weapon near him. His opponent reached him too quickly. He was not prepared for Darya to lift him off the ground and throw him at the nearby wall.
Darya then punched the living daylights out of young Keb. She kept punching the boy until her fists were bloody and his face was unrecognizable.
Keb Conda, District 11 Male: 14th Place, Killed by Darya. Day 2.
It was only when Keb died that Darya snapped out of her craziness. The girl from 9 screamed and ugly-cried at the awful scene in front of her and fainted from the shock of it all.
Darya was not the only one hit by the madness mist.
The mansion group was affected as well. None of them wanted to go outside, which was wise of them. Unfortunately, a couple of the Mist with Eyes can enter the homes. Iva from 10 was in her room, taking a nap. The Mist with Eyes went to her head and infected Iva with madness.
Iva runs fast, finding a little pocket knife in her hands and attacks the closest tribute in the monster. She sees Sandra and Leon talking to one another. The two were surprised at her rushing at them. Iva shoved Sandra to the wall and she fell to the ground. Sandra groaned as her broken arm affected her. Leon, meanwhile, pushed Iva away before she could stab Sandra.
The crazed tribute shouted, "Peacekeeper!" and ran at Leon. The boy dodged her attacks and punched her. Her knife dropped and Leon went for it. The two pushed each other away, but Leon managed to grab the knife and gut Iva. The girl from 10 dropped to the floor, clutching her pained lung.
"Iva!" came Fabian. The boy saw that Leon stabbed Iva and believed in the worst. He came forward with a mace he found in the mansion and rushed at Leon.
Leon now had to fight an outraged Fabian. He tried to say something, but Fabian's scream muted Leon's explanation. Leon did not have the same reach with his knife and focused on avoiding Fabian's attack. Fabian was rather clumsy with the mace and Leon did his own clumsy fighting. It ended with Leon managing to stab Fabian in the throat.
Not, Fabian is on the ground next to Iva. Fabian saw Iva's crazed eyes and probably wondered what the hell was up with that. Both died at nearly the same time of painful blood loss.
Fabian White, District 7 Male: 13th Place, Killed by Leon. Day 2.
Iva Arvosa, District 10 Female: 12th Place, Killed by Leon. Day 2.
Sandra could only gape at the tragic deaths at the hand of Leon. However, she understands that this was not Leon's fault entirely. She saw that Leon was in shock. "It's okay. You did not have a choice," Sandra says, trying to comfort the poor boy.
The madness does not here.
One other tribute was affected by the Eyes of Madness.
Hardread was affected by it. He was in the kitchen, trying to make dinner until the mist went through the vents and into Hardread's mind.
The boy yelled and Mike from 3 heard it. This rebel tribute went to see what happened. Only to find the blurry eyes of Hardread glaring at him. The rebel gang leader (which Hardread was) unleashed a scream. He grabbed a knife and stabbed Mike straight to the side of his head.
Mike Palmer, District 4 Male: 11th Place, Killed by Hardread. Day 2.
Once this happened, he went out to the dining table where the rest of the rebellious tributes were. He grabbed a rapier that was in a display and rushed at them. The rebels were surprised. The first that came into Hardread's view was Claudia, who attempted to move away from him. She did not make it in time before he slashed her face.
Ingrid then pushed Hardread away, enough for him to fall. He quickly got back up and saw Maisie. His girlfriend knew something was wrong and told everyone to stay back. Which was a good thing since Austin was aiming his shotgun to shoot him.
"Har-bear, it's me," Maisie said. She saw that his eyes were filled with madness but attempted to talk him down anyway. Hardread attempted to kill Maisie, but she dodged it. She could only do one thing.
She got a wooden post from the ground and attempted to knock him out. After a dance of evading and striking, Maisie managed to get a good whack to the head. This managed to put Hardread to sleep. While Hardread was fortunately out of commission, Claudia has yet another injury - one to her face. They had to get her face patched out. Something that did not look likely, but it helped that Klara from 2 was training to be a nurse and helped Claudia's face and her eye using the mansions medicine.
Claudia was already covered in bandages from the boiling water, but now half her face was covered up. Hardread was tied up. When he woke up, he looked confused and asked why he's tied up. Maisie hugged him and said he is back to normal.
Soon, the mansion group found out from Sandra that Iva and Fabian have died as she claimed both of them were affected by the madness. Sandra possibly lied to spare Leon's feelings or she genuinely believed so. While Hardread and Maisie may be happy they lived through the day, the rest of the group did not rest easy.
Pleasant had a safe time on Day 2 despite her own worry that something might happen.
Day 3 happened.
The Groaning appeared.
The Game-makers decided that this day should consist of fast-running zombies. They were released into the arena, and they were hungry.
It first started with Pleasant, the zombies came out the back door. The girl from 7 was surprised and worried from hearing the monsters come forth. Pleasant pushed on the zombies back with a staff, but two more came it. They outnumbered her. The zombies have bitten and ate her as she screamed.
Pleasant Colt, District 7 Female: 10th Place, Killed by Zombies. Day 3.
Darya was safe. She was on top of the tower, and the zombies kept sliding down. One zombie even perished from slipping. Darya breathed a sigh of relief. She decided to throw Keb's body off the top floor.
The people in the manor were expecting trouble.
There was a wave of zombies coming their way. They were all prepared for another one of the Gamemaker's schemes. Everyone formed a circle tactic (Claudia and Sandra were nursing in bed), which proved effective against these zombies. They were fast but not strong. Austin waved his fireplace poker. Hardread whacked a bunch with a shovel and smiled when Maisie knifed another zombie in the head. Klara almost died from a bite to the neck, but Leon managed to save her.
While Sandra did lock her room, the lock proved weak as the zombies slammed it open. The child of rebels could not fight against the threat of so many zombies. She had a knife to kill one. The problem is, there were four more to replace it. Sandra was eaten and killed.
Sandra Olive, District 11 Female: 9th Place, Killed by Zombies. Day 3.
The Final Eight: Klara Ceasar from District 2, Leon Digit from District 3, Ingrid from District 4, Hardread Hunter and Maisie Ball from District 5, Austin Amor and Claudia Art from District 6, and Darya Colt from District 9.
Claudia, meanwhile, was safe. She locked the door, and the zombies aimed for the others in the mansion group.
This event ended quickly enough. The mansion group killed at least a hundred zombies and came out on top. Leon did find Sandra's body and cried. Ingrid made sure Claudia was fine and was relieved to see she was. Claudia did not react to Ingrid's concern. She appears to be cautious of everyone now. Klara from 2 could only comfort Leon by patting him on the back. Maisie and Hardread sighed and comforted each other. Austin found a lighter - he had some idea what to do with that. Darya was still on top of that tower, looking down and feeling glad she got it this far.
Something happened, however.
Arabella from District 4, Victor of the 2nd Hunger Games, sent a sponsor gift to Ingrid.
Us Gamemakers disallowed sponsor gifts this year (for obvious reasons), but we made an exception. All Arabella sent was a note.
The gift was seen only by Claudia when she looked out the window. She walked there and read Arabella's advice, "Don't waste this opportunity. Kill them in their sleep and win."
Claudia made a decision.
When the sun set on Day 3, Claudia went to Ingrid's room. The mansion's rooms were often oversized with large beds in them. She was quiet about it (being a spy helps), and when she went in, she tried Ingrid's hands to the bed poles. Ingrid didn't wake up. Not until it was too late. Claudia got one of the pillows and slammed it down on Ingrid's face. The girl from 4 screamed in shock and found that she can't move her arms. After a minute of struggling, Ingrid died.
Ingrid Lud, District 4 Female: 8th Place, Killed by Claudia. Day 3.
When the cannon was heard, other tributes woke up and looked to see if something happened. Austin was on the lookout and found Ingrid's dead body. His district partner Claudia is next to her. Austin aimed his shotgun and yelled, "What the flip Claud!"
To the one who acts like he's from an action movie against she who belongs to the genre. Claudia avoided being shot when she showed Arabella's message. Austin frowned heavily. He glared and told her to stay in this room so he could get the others. Claudia did so. The other rebel tributes looked at her in heavy judgment when they came in.
There was talk about how to deal with her. Hardread and Maisie wanted her to go away. Leon was hesitant and says it should be fine. Klara said to tie her up. Austin even recommended shooting her and be done with it, which caused Claudia to tense. In the end, Leon just said she should stay at the far end of the mansion - which everyone agreed with. The rift is formed and Claudia may never gain anyone's trust again.
Day 4 started.
The Gamemakers decided that use the leftover monsters from Day 1. Most of them were trapped in their homes. Chupacabra, however, was eating dirt somewhere. With the exception of Freddy Krueger, who we will terminate after the Hunger Games is over. In hindsight, a nightmare monster like him may be a bit much for Panem.
Starting with ape-man, who went to the tower where Darya is at. He tried to use the stairs but slipped. In retaliation, the Ape-man decided to go outside and climb the tower. Darya saw him and shivered. She immediately threw books at him, but that only annoyed him. She threw a lamp and other heavy objects, but the ape monster managed to dodge him.
Once he got there to the top floor, Darya got a metal rod and hoped to push him out. The Ape-man was pushed by her, but not before grabbing the metal rod and pulling Darya from the tower. The Ape-man and Darya fell to their demise. The ground was splattered with Darya's blood. To her credit, that crybaby managed far.
Darya Colt, District 9 Female: 7th Place, Killed by Ape-man. Day 4.
Only the mansion group remained, and they arguably had five people remaining with Claudia in semi-exile.
Claudia, being on the other side of the mansion, was contemplating her decisions. Only froze when she saw something peaking in the corner. An ugly gray alien with big black eyes.
She was ready and brought up a sword. The alien rushed her. Her strike missed, and the alien monster revealed it had a taser and electrocuted her. Claudia felt deep pain once more and it only stopped once she fell to unconsciousness. No doubt this cruel alien will torture her as it did Calum from 12.
The other tributes all were together once more, expecting trouble any minute.
Starting with the ice spirit. A ball of light was visible to the group, and then it zipped straight to Austin. The boy from 6 yelped as he felt the pain of cold on his arm. He swore, but realized it was a creature of ice. "Everyone get away from me. I'll do some crazy!" Austin screamed. He got a little homemade flamethrower.
Austin blasted the ice spirit with it and melted that awful little monster. Austin laughed in victory. Only he winced as he felt the sting that the ice creature left on his arm.
Now, the rest of the monsters came in.
Three ugly mutant men. A giant lizard monster with sharp teeth. A slime. The Chupacabra. The Slit-mouthed woman.
The tributes looked on without fear.
Monsters vs the rebel tributes.
The fight started with the lizard monster rushing for its prey. Only to perish when Austin killed it when he took his shotgun out and took its scaly mug away. Leon had a poker stick and stabbed a mutant. Klara had her own sword and got a mutant herself, slicing its face. The last mutant was killed by Hardread's rapier. Maisie had to deal with the slime, only to find that her spear had no effect on it. She yelled to Austin to pass the flamethrower. He did, and Maisie destroyed it. The chupacabra aimed for Maisie, but Maisie expertly killed it with a knife before it could even reach it.
They handled these monsters expertly, but unfortunately, one monster got a kill. The Slit-mouthed woman got to a defenseless Austin and slashed him with her knife hands. The boy from 6 fell, and glared at the creepy monster. The slit-mouthed woman smiled and killed Austin as she finished him off by stabbing him fight in his heart.
Austin Amor, District 6 Male: 6th Place, Killed by Slit-mouthed woman. Day 4.
"NO!" Leon screamed. The other tributes saw their fallen ally and rushed at the last monster.
The Slit-mouthed woman held against the tributes successfully, and even managed to stab Klara. Maisie on the other hand was sliced badly as the Slit-mouthed woman got her stomach. Hardread yelled in anguish as he saw his girlfriend hold on to her stomach.
Leon had enough and rushed the Slit-mouthed monster. He put his poker into the monster and pushed the monster into the fireplace. The Slit-mouthed woman did not scream, but it did perish after being burned heavily.
Maisie, however, had some of her guts out and felt weaker. Hardread put his arms around her before she fell to the ground and shouted at Klara to help her. Klara told him they needed some medicine (they had very few) and specific equipment for this kind of injury. Hardread told Maisie it will be alright, but she slowly felt her consciousness leave her. Maisie said "I love you" before she closed her eyes.
Maisie Ball, District 6 Female: 5th Place, Killed by Slit-mouthed woman. Day 4.
"GODDAMIT! NO, NO. NOT YOU!" Hardread cried out. His tears came and held on to her tighter. Leon and Klara left with sad looks in their eyes, leaving Hardread to his mourning.
Leon told Klara they needed to check on Claudia. She only nodded in reply.
When they found Claudia, they saw a dead alien with a knife in its eyes. Claudia managed to get out of its grasp, but the alien did take pieces of her flesh and some nails from her. Klara went to her and attempted to do her best to heal Claudia's injuries.
Leon went to hug Claudia, happy she is alive. The hug stung her both psychically and emotionally, but returned it. Klara told her that they lost everyone but Hardread. Claudia has a pensive look on her.
What a minor happy occasion.
It will soon be broken as Hardread snaps. He stops his self-pity. Instead, he looks angry. Hardread picked up a shotgun and walked away.
Claudia, Klara, and Leon talked idly. They stopped once they see Hardread with a nasty glare on his face. Claudia saw he aimed his firearm at her and ducked when he shot at her. It missed, but Claudia was forced to move the shelf in this room and used it as a barricade.
Klara and Leon were surprised and shouted at Hardread. He turned to them, "Get out of the way. I'm going to kill a traitor."
Leon ignored that and went on Hardread's way. "No! There are so few of us left! Don't do this, Har!"
Hardread looked at the barricade, wondering what to do. Klara used that moment to take the gun away from him. Hardread tsked, and says they can't trust Claudia. He said that she will most likely kill them. Claudia got out of the barricade and came up to him. She says, "You're right. I'm kind of a shitty person, but I'm tired and I don't feel like hurting you guys. Truth is, I'd feel like shit hurting any of you. I still feel terrible after Ingrid."
Hardread continued to glare at her. However, Klara's and Leon's good nature won over both Hardread and Claudia.
In the end, the four decided that the Capitol sucks and not kill each other out of spite. Bonding over screwing over the Capitol got Hardread and Claudia to relax with one another.
A day passed, and the four remaining tributes were stubbornly not going to play the game.
After hours of discussion between the Gamemakers, we decided on sending a warning via sponsor to Klara.
On Day 5, Klara got a message from the Capitol: "We have your remaining family member. If you don't kill a tribute by the end of the day, we will kill them."
Such a terrible thing to do, but it was done to move the Games forward. Klara wondered what to do, and thought hard. She got an idea that causes her to tear up. She went to Leon and hugged him spontaneously. She wished him the best of luck, which spooked him. Hardread and Claudia were together, surprisingly. Despite yesterday's drama, they talked as if they were close friends.
Klara went to them and hugged them too. They were surprised, but she said they were the two strongest people she ever met. Again, she spooked the person she met.
In her room, Klara left the shotgun. She picked it up and aimed it below her head. With a sad smile, she pulled the trigger.
Klara Ceasar, District 2 Female: 4th Place, Killed by suicide. Day 5.
Leon, Claudia, and Hardread found her and the Capitol's warning once they heard the bullet. Leon teared up. Hardread and Claudia put their heads down but did not show many emotions. They were all heartbroken by Klara's sacrifice.
Klara did technically obey the Capitol's command, so they let her family members go. The other three tributes had no one we could hold hostage, so the Gamemakers (aka me) decided to finish these Hunger Games painfully.
Day 6, the final day.
"Hello darling tributes!" says the announcer, Marie-Antoinette Dazqueen. A new girl with a nice voice. The old announcer guy died in a car crash/possible murder-suicide. "Today, we will poison gas! But don't worry. There's a gas mask in one of the houses, in that unstylish witch's hut. Go get it! The winner gets cupcakes!"
Dazqueen is kinda weird and she looks like a marshmallow, but she's a cheery sociopath we all love in the Capitol.
We released the poison gas into the arena.
The three tributes went to rush to the witch's hut. Halfway there Leon coughed up blood and felt pain. He felt a lot of pain. Hardread and Claudia stopped there as they see Leon go down. Hardread goes to him, and tries to pick him. Only he's starting to feel pain too, and coughs. Leon tells him to stop and go. Hardread says Leon's crazy if he'll do that. Leon repeated with a higher tone, "GO! LEAVE!"
With regret on his face, Hardread left Leon. Claudia did not dare look back. Leon coughed up blood and spasmed. The pain was unbearable. He cried red and gasped for air as he went through a minute of torture.
Leon Digit, District 3 Male: 3rd Place, Killed by poison gas. Day 6/Finale.
Once they see came to the witch's hut, the two tributes searched for the gas mask. For a full minute, they searched. Hardread found it under the bookshelf only to realize now that there was only one. At the same time, Claudia fell to the ground. She started to cough blood.
Hardread looked at the gas mask and back to Claudia. After everything she went through, Hardread decided to give the mask to Claudia. Once he puts it on her, he smiled shakily. "End of the road. I don't think I want to continue anyway without my bae." He coughed. "Take care."
He held strong. For a while. Hardread coughed and coughed until his eyes went bloodshot. The poison finished him while Claudia stared in sadness.
Hardread Hunter, District 5 Male: 2nd Place, Killed by poison gas. Day 6/Finale.
Claudia Art, District 6 Female: 1st Place, Victor of the 10th Hunger Games/2nd Quintet Quell.

Bio: A family of hardcore rebels. Practically anarchists. Her parents trained their daughter to deceive and fight. There have many instances where Claudia was related to the bombing of Capitol military bases. Her parents were eventually found and systematically executed. Claudia fought against the Capitol for two more years until she was captured. The President decided to throw her into the Hunger Games to make things interesting, rather than be executed.
Victory Tour: She had her speeches set, and was threatened by Peacekeepers every time she stepped off the train in all twelve Districts. She was hated in District Four, where the people threw tomatoes at her. The other Districts only had chilly or sad reactions at seeing this scared one-eyed girl.
After the HG: She went through a lot in the Hunger Games; tortured (before and after the HG), electrocuted by a witch, lost an eye, and gained lots of scars. Due to her rebellious history and nature, she was constantly monitored by agents. In the 12th Hunger Games, she went ballistic when she lost her friend and caused civil disobedience. District Six paid for it through mass executions. Claudia learned to keep her opinions to herself the hard way. By the 17th Hunger Games, Claudia decided to explode her home - a body was found but it was unrecognizable. Many believed she managed to hoodwink the Capitol, and she deliberately exploded her home to go away from the Capitol's eyes. She was declared dead nevertheless. Personally, I believe she's alive. Out of every human being alive, Claudia would be able to survive an explosion.
