Chapter 11: Sand All Over! A section in a book called The Blood Games Story - Written by Patrick Roseforge.

The 11th Hunger Games

Domestically, everything was dandy. The Districts are being kept in line. My brother President Roseforge dated some broad. I knew and predicted that the relationship would only last that year before finding out she was nothing but a gold digger. My brother's too much of a romantic. Marie-Antoinette Dazqueen, the announcer, became the new interviewer after the last one had an unfortunate 'accident' from falling off a building. Dazqueen really wanted the job. Alex and I let her, but we both suspected she straight-up murdered someone.

The only volunteer this year was a career Octavia from 4, who volunteered for the glory of the Capitol. She managed to woo the Capitol in her interview. An expert in the art of archery and the trident. Other spectacular tributes scored high, however. Petunia from 7 is a farmer, he is known for helping out his community often. A muscular tribute from years of hard work. Harris from 5 and Speck from 6 share similar alley-thief backstories, and they are allied to one another. Lastly, Paul from District 10 got a score of nine somehow. He was supposed to get a three. There was an error in the system, or a scorer accidentally got drunk and ranked Paul higher than he should have been.

Mahogany from 12 also wooed the crowd and got a high score from her charisma and beauty alone. She's a Capitol girl but has the unfortunate pleasure of having a mother from District 12. An upper-class girl (like an upper-upper). Her father is a politician who regularly has dinners with us Roseforge brothers. I recall him bringing up Mahogany sometimes, choosing to care for and love her despite being born from a one-night stand with a District woman. If she dies, chances are, we had to kill a supporter.

Skarn from 1 is the daughter of a mining company boss. Sugar from 6 has a pun for a name, a baker's daughter. Dylan from 2 is a hard worker who managed to take up swordsmanship with incredible speed. Gerolf and Marga from 11 are friendly acquaintances who teamed up. They had the same friend. Terpsichore from 5 tried to dance in her interview but revealed that she was a useless and clumsy dancer.

District 12: Madis Kart, 15, (4) and Mahogany Wellhorn, 20, (9)

President Alex's Bet: Mahogany Wellhorn. He was really hoping for the Capitol girl to survive. He didn't want to kill her father if he resented the system.

Head Gamemaker's Patrick's Bet: Petunia Alvarez. I can appreciate the diligence and wholesomeness of this farmer.

-THE GAMES-

The time has come. The Pyramids. Ancient Eyptainain-style arena. The sand is everywhere.

This year's cornucopia will take place inside a triangle dome. All the tributes are circling the cornucopia, slowly rising from their podiums. Inside the pyramid dome, there are four entrances on each side. Scribbles of hieroglyphs are found on every wall. Besides the dome, two large pyramids are in the north and west. To the east, the temple of the Sphinx can be found.

The dome's hieroglyphs flashed a bright light. The countdown from 60 has started, and many tributes looked determined. Everyone knows what's up. The center has supplies and weapons, but some might take their chances away from the bloodbath.

3.. 2.. 1

Twenty tributes rushed to the cornucopia, while four decided to take their chances outside. Davis from 9, Dimitra from 10, and the District 11 pair Gerolf and Marga.

The first one to get there was Mahogany from 12 rather than Octavia from 4. It looks like Mahogany is nimbler than expected. She got an Egyptian scimitar and went to the closest tribute to her. That tribute is Dylan from 2. He immediately got a sword and blocked Mahogany's attack. Dylan kept blocking her attacks a few times before she managed to get a stab wound on him, slashing at his torso.

Dylan Gilher, District 2 Male: 24th Place, Killed by Mahogany. Bloodbath.

Octavia noticed Mahogany and had already set her sights on her before the Hunger Games started. The career got a trident and went straight for the Capitol girl. Octavia noticed Mahogany and had already set her sights on her before the Hunger Games started. The career got a trident and went straight for the Capitol girl.

Mahogany smiled at Octavia and said, "Wanna ally?" which was ignored by Octavia. The two managed a decent fight against one another. Mahogany had the upper hand and kicked Octavia to the ground. She once again smiled, "Can we team up now?" The career can only agree since Mahogany had a scimitar next to her throat.

Speck from 6 and Harris from 5 decided to give killing a shot. Speck got a spear and aimed that straight at Terpsichore from 5. The woman could not react fast enough to dodge the fatal strike.

Terpsichore Min, District 5 Female: 23rd Place, Killed by Speck. Bloodbath.

Harris, meanwhile, got his sights on Christa from 9. The two got into a sword fight, taking cautious strikes at one another but failing to get a hit in. Harris got to scratch her shoulder, but that was about it. Christa ran away after that, and Harris decided chasing after her was not worth it.

Jerry from 4 decided to follow his district partner's lead, and get a kill for the sponsors. Once he got a mace, he went to fight Harris. Jerry yelled, which alerted Harris. He dodged the boy from 4's attack and went to return the favor. Harris got his sword to pierce Jerry's heart, instantly killing him.

Jerry Jones, District 4 Male: 22nd Place, Killed by Harris. Bloodbath.

Benigno from 8 decided to strike in the bloodbath. He went to get a dagger and kill Seth from 1. Seth saw Benigno strike and dodged and kicked Benigno's dagger off his hand. Seth caught the dagger mid-air and stabbed Benigno in return. A stab that left him dying on the ground as Seth grabbed a backpack and left.

Benigno Endrizzi, District 8 Male: 21st Place, Killed by Seth. Bloodbath.

Sugar Sweet from 6, right after's Benigno's death, got a small bastard sword for herself and aimed to kill her district partner Speck. The little girl was, in fact, not sweet at all. Speck looked at her, looking dismissive of the girl who did her best to smile. He did not expect such a small girl to hurt him. Speck underestimating her was his downfall as Sugar stabbed Speck right in the back.

Speck Daysnow, District 6 Male: 20th Place, Killed by Sugar. Bloodbath.

Speck's ally, Harris, saw his downed ally and went to him, catching Speck's last breath. He turned angrily to Sugar and went on the offensive to kill the innocent-looking girl. Sugar managed to dodge his attack, and she attempted to flee. Harris easily caught up to her and claimed his revenge by killing her. Slicing the back of the girl's head.

Sugar Sweet, District 6 Female: 19th Place, Killed by Harris. Bloodbath.

Every other tribute managed to get something from the cornucopia. The only ones remaining were Mahogany, Octavia, and Harris. Harris, meanwhile, looked pale. Both from losing his friend and the killing he has done. Mahogany, who noticed Harris was dazed by it all, stopped Octavia from trying to kill him. Octavia protested, but Mahogany said it was alright. The Capitol girl went to Harris and asked if he wanted to join this alliance with them.

It took a few seconds for Harris to consider before nodding in agreement. A few minutes into the Hunger Games, one alliance disappeared while an uneasy alliance was made. Mahogany was happy about it, though.

Starting with the cowards, Davis from 9 went to the North Pyramid and went inside. He was just lost in this dark maze inside the pyramid. Dimitra from 10 ran in a random direction in the desert, avoiding the structures. She only got sand in her shoes for her troubles. Gerolf and Marga from 11 went east to the Sphinx monument. The two found a room inside this large limestone sculpture, finding an entire chest of food. The two blocked the door with some wooden planks they found so others would not enter.

Madis from 12 wanted to avoid the other tributes, so he avoided the pyramids and the sphinx. He hoped to find something in the desert but found nothing but a heat stroke. Madis woke up at midnight, spitting out sand. Skarn from 1 did the same, but she found a small tree to find some shade from the sun.

Paul from 10 went confidently to the West Pyramid. He found some medium-sized spiders but bravely attacked them. Perhaps his mistaken score gave Paul some mistaken self-confidence. Paul got bit by those spiders and got sick. He did not move much due to his fever. Moxi from 3 went to the same pyramid and found one of the tombs there. She found some bottles of water which brought her to a cheery mood. The career group, Harris, Mahogany, and Octavia went to the West Pyramid, not doing much other than easily killing spiders. Lena from 8 found those spiders as well, but got sick from fighting them off.

In the North Pyramid, Christa from 9 found herself lost in that pyramid and almost died from an arrow trap. Petunia from 7 traveled to this pyramid and on the way, saw his district partner Ivy following him. Ivy is familiar with Petunia and asks if she wants to join him. Petunia smiled and agreed - happy to help someone from the same District. Seth from 1 was just happy to get shade inside this Pyramid and did not explore much. He enjoyed his day by eating some crackers.

Grid from 3 traveled to the Sphinx monument in the east. Grid got hit by Mina from 2 with a rock and fell unconscious. Mina went straight to the Sphinx and the monument's eyes glowed.

The Spinx opened its mouth, "Answer this riddle and get a reward. There are two sisters: one gives birth to the other and she, in turn, gives birth to the first. Who are the two sisters?"

It was surprising to hear the Spinx speak. Mina pondered this question for a couple of minutes. She guessed 'cows' for some reason and the Spinx said "WRONG!" and its eyes stopped glowing. Mina frowned. She got absolutely nothing. Mina traveled the hot desert, doing nothing in particular. Thankfully, she has some water.

Day 1 ended.

Now it's Day 2.

Some tributes have sunburn. Other tributes had shade which they were thankful for. Dimitra, Madis, and Mina all had sunburns from staying out in the sun for too long.

Anyway, Lena died in the morning.

The spider bites from earlier were too much, leading to infection. Maybe she had an allergy.

Lena Thumb, District 8 Female: 18th Place, Killed by spider bites. Day 2.

The District Seven tributes were exploring the North Pyramid. Petunia and Ivy found nothing important that day. They did some small talk. Ivy did not want to answer any personal questions Petunia asked, which he respected. They did find another tribute inside the North Pyramid, Christa from 9. Petunia wanted to show Christa that they meant no harm, but Christa was not buying it. She fled and went to the other corridors of this pyramid. She sprained her knee during her fleeing. Sadly for Christa, there was nothing she could do about it since she had no medical supplies.

Mina traveled the far desert, finding nothing. She screamed and she itched from the sunburn. The amount of water she has left is nearly nothing. She is forced to go back to the arena or else she would die from hunger or dehydration.

Davis, meanwhile, did find something in the North Pyramid. He found the secret Tomb of Khufu. Little orphan Davis found a mummy. The old Pharaoh Khufu had long round straight white hair that looked like a pillar. Other than that, he had strips of linen around him. His voice sounds ancient, "Who dares wake me, the Pharaoh Khufu."

The boy gulped, and the mummy looked at him. "Do you have anything for me, boy? Perhaps water."

Unfortunately, Davis had nothing as he ran the first chance he got. In fact, he is rather hungry. Davis said he had nothing.

"Leave or die then, child."

The Pharaoh was generous, and Davis got away from this tomb. Khufu shook his head and went back to sleep.

In the West Pyramid, Paul from 10 is just sick of fighting off spiders. At least he managed to surprise us all by punching them all away. He found Lena's corpse, which got him some extra food from her little backpack. He managed to avoid other tributes there.

The little career gang is searching for tributes to kill, but it's clear that Mahogany is keeping that little group together from killing each other. Octavia and Harris have nothing but biting comments on one another. Mahogany talks and gossips idly, pretending not to be bothered by her teammate's hostility. Luckily for them, they found little Moxi from 3. She attempted to flee, managing to make it outside the pyramid. Only the careers managed to keep up with her. Harris tackled her to the sand, keeping her down and stabbing her.

Moxi Bronze, District 3 Female: 17th Place, Killed by Harris. Day 2.

Octavia was pissed she still hasn't killed anyone, insulting Harris. Mahogany, on the other hand, congratulated Harris. Harris didn't respond to either of them. The three of them went to the camp in the cornucopia.

Outside of the center structures in the arena, there is little to be found. Demitra, one of people who went to explore the desert, saw a person nearby and decided to see if they were real. She's also hungry/thirsty from a lack of supplies. She found Madis from 12, who has the same sunburns as her. Madis saw the tired Demitra approach him. He gave her water, which did well for first impressions. The two desert-goers decided to stick together.

Another desert-goer, Skarn, found the only place worth being outside the center structures. He found an oasis. A small pond of freshwater, and a bunch of cozy trees. Skarn got it good. Skarn pinched himself, but thankfully, it was not a mirage.

Skarn's partner Seth, meanwhile, found a mummy. He woke up Khufu, the Pharoah of the North Pyramid.

Khufu woke up again and looked at the boy. "Do you bring tribute, boy?"

Seth, unlike Davis, did have water. Khufu accepted it.

"You can accept my protection for one day."

Seth agrees but is wary of the Pharaoh. His hesitance is only stated for a bit. Khufu and Seth talk about their lives. The tribute from One goes on about how his poor parents need him to help with their stall. How he killed a tribute. Khufu talks about the burdens of being a mummy. The meaning of rulership. They talked a surprising bit and got along(?). Eventually, Khufu decided that Seth could stay however long he wanted.

In the Sphinx, the Elevens didn't leave the Spinx. Gerold and Marga had food and water. They had a little safe place for the time being. The two of them thought it best to stick here for now. The dark room they were in wasn't comfortable, but it was better than the sun. They took turns being lookouts. Somehow, the two of them missed Grid walking around.

Grid was outside the Spinx. He's got a nasty sunburn since Mina left him unconscious. Now, however, he heard the Spinx talk. The large structure gave a riddle,

"I'm alive, but without breath; I'm as cold in life as in death; I'm never thirsty, though I always drink."

Grid took a few minutes to answer. "Is it fish?"

He got the question right.

The Spinx mouth lowered, having its lower mouth act like a tray. As a reward, Grid got meat, grains, water, and some javelins. Grid grinned happily.

On Day 3, only two of the tributes died.

Starting with Davis, he got a little sponsor. A little car drove through the North Pyramid corridors. Davis got some food and water, which he happily ate. He later met Petunia and Ivy. Petunia once again said they meant no harm. Once again, he was ignored. Davis ran away from the older two tributes. Petunia bemoaned "Why?" while Ivy patted him in the back. She mentioned that it was probably for the best. The Seven tributes find some tombs, but not Khufu.

Seth is still having a blast being under a mummy's protection. Well, he did at least. Khufu and him talked, but then Seth told him a bad mummy joke. Khufu was so offended he told Seth to leave. Or the mummy will kill him. So much for protection. Who knew Pharaoh's were so touchy?

The career's have decided to go to the east, to the Spinx. Least, Mahogany said they should go east. But the thing is, Octavia had enough of Harris. She decided she had enough of Mahogany. She backstabbed Harris. The trident in her hand tore through his chest. The boy was too lost in his thoughts to pay attention to Octavia's movements.

Harris Saramama, District 5 Male: 16th Place, Killed by Octavia. Day 3.

Mahogany was surprised. Octavia seemed ready to kill Mahogany, but the other girl had a way with words. Mahogany told her that she might not win against her and that it would be better to split. Octavia decided that her thirst for blood had been stated. The two tributes went their own separate ways. Mahogany went to the Sphinx. Octavia went to the North Pyramid. The careers alliance this time was short-lived.

Madis and Dimitra found the oasis.

The two tributes kept traveling, discussing if it was even worth it. Dimitra ate a cactus on the way. Luck was on their side, however, finding beautiful fresh water. They also saw Skarn. The two tributes waved. Skarn was hesitant, but she relaxed when the two tributes raced to the oasis. They delved into the water, sticking their heads in it. The three tributes discussed a truce and had a fun day. Mostly just complaining about the heat.

Three tributes found a slice of heaven, even if it will not last long.

Mina, however, failed to find the oasis. She traveled to the cornucopia, missing the careers (good for her). There was some water there, but she was still weak from hunger. Mina saw Harris's corpse and decided to go to the West Pyramid.

Gerolf and Marga did see Grid nearby. Which led to a fight. Grid wants some shade to get out of the sun and he's willing to kill to get the Eleven's room inside the Spinx. He threw a javelin but missed. Gerolf and Marga responded to the challenge with their own weapons. Marga had a slingshot she used. Only she's not particularly good at it. The rocks kept missing.

Running with a sword, Gerolf ran to Grid. Before Grid could throw another javelin, Gerolf slashed his arm. The boy cried and Gerolf slashed him once more, tearing his chest. Blood comes from the boy, and Gerolf looks away.

Grid Darwin, District 3 Male: 15th Place, Killed by Gerolf. Day 3.

The Eleven later traveled the Sphinx a bit and heard the structure's head talk. "What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three legs in the evening?"

Marga and Gerolf talked about it and answered, "Um, man?"

The sphinx's mouth came down, offering the Eleven's crossbows and daggers. The two of them smiled at their reward. Helps that they also took Grid's javelins. They could rest on top of the Sphinx and snipe people from there.

Christa from 9 traveled the North Pyramid, finding nothing. Her knee also kept her from moving too much. Paul in the West Pyramid didn't do much either. There was no other tribute there, so he was rather bored. He ate some beetles.

Day 4 came. The heat was worse.

The oasis Skarn, Madis, and Dimitra are in is affected by the sun. The increase in the heat is making the water evaporate. Luckily, the three were making wooden bottles from the trees nearby, holding more water. Dimitra suggested it, and it was a good call. The three realize that the heat will soon take the oasis away and they leave soon enough. Forced to join the fight. At least the three are together in this.

Coming near the Sphinx, Mahogany is enjoying the view of this strange structure. She sees that there is a tribute on top of it and waves. Marga looks at her, aiming her javelin but stops when she sees that Mahogany is alone and friendly. Marga went to the Sphinx room and got Gerolf out. The two were wary, but Mahogany charmed them into having a conversation. Mahogany offers an alliance, but the two aren't interested.

Mahogany frowned. A second later, the Sphinx's head called out, "A riddle: I create my lair with earthen string, and dispatch my prey with a biting sting. What am I?"

The Eleven's told her that the Sphinx does this once a day and gives rewards. Mahogany liked to hear that. It didn't take long for her to answer the riddle. The Capitolite girl answered, "A spider."

The reward Mahogany got would be the mighty khopesh. A fine sharp curved sword. Mahogany's father sponsored her this, and it made for an interesting reveal.

She instantly tested the sharp blade after beheading Marga in one clean swoop.

Marga Tobias, District 11 Female: 14th Place, Killed by Mahogany. Day 4.

Neither of the Eleven's were as cautious as they should have been. Marga was simply the closer of the two. Gerolf got his sword out in an instant. Mahogany slashed at it, and the sword nearly broke under the khopesh. After she swung a second time, Gerolf's sword was destroyed. After that, he got wise and ran. He had a crossbow on him, but reloading was not a quick task.

Lucky for Gerolf, he has more endurance than Mahogany. She tried to chase after him only to get tired. This left Gerolf with enough time to quickly reload the crossbow and aim at her.

The arrow got to her shoulder, making her scream in pain. While Mahogany was flailing on the ground, Gerolf made his escape. Gerolf did not want to risk it. It took a while for Mahogany to take the arrow out and disinfect her wound. She then over-dramatically proclaimed she would have her vengeance on him. At least someone knows how to get sponsors.

In the West Pyramid, there was a scream. Paul did not know where it came from. Maybe it would have been wiser not to follow the screams. However, Paul has never seen a horror movie. He was bored too.

He found a tomb, only the coffin was empty. Paul saw that there was a large mummy pounding the wall with its fists. A buff muff with a yellow headdress. Screaming menacingly, he turned to Paul. "You dare enter the home of Pharoah Khafre. DIE!"

Khafre pounced on the boy, who was too slow and weak to escape the mad Pharoah's grasp. Paul's arm was torn off, and Khafre beat him to death with it. The tribute's luck fell down hard by staying in this pyramid too long.

Paul Littleworth, District 10 Male: 13th Place, Killed by Pharoah Khafre. Day 4.

No one else went inside the West Pyramid for the rest of the Hunger Games.

The North Pyramid started with Seth leaving. Finding new pastors and such.

Only he saw Octavia and cursed his luck. The career from Four grinned and threw a trident at the boy. Seth was stabbed face-first by it.

Seth Rufus, District 1 Male: 12th Place, Killed by Octavia. Day 4.

Octavia is just having a grand old time already. Good that she hasn't met with anyone else. Better yet, Octavia didn't notice that Mina was just traveling right behind her. The girl from two gulped at seeing Seth's corpse.

After searching some Egyptian graves, Mina did find a knife and a bottle of water.

Christa and Davis meet up with one another. The two are from Nine and stopped to chat. Christa then started a fight with Davis for what meager food he had. It was a difficult fit, seeing that Christa is older and has a reach advantage, but Davis managed to kick her away. Christa was left on the ground, starving and bleeding from a cut on her face.

Petunia and Ivy meet Khufu. The pharaoh had the usual spiel on giving him tribute for protection. They gave him some of their remaining water. They realize they have been lucky so far and need to find other places. The two of them had a good enough time. Petunia wanted to talk to Khufu, but the Pharoah was not interested in small talk anymore.

Day 5 started with someone who really needed to eat.

Christa Heraclids, District 9 Female: 11th Place, Killed by starvation/dehydration. Day 5.

That person died from desert fatigue. Needed to happen once at least.

The Sevens wanted to get some water. Good thing one of them had an idea of how. Ivy looked at Petunia and whispered something to him. The man looked surprised but nodded. Ivy gave a kiss on Petunia's cheek. The guy blushed while Ivy snorted. They held hands as well, to Petunia's discomfort.

Now that's how you play a crowd. The two Sevens made a false romance for water. Which they got, good for them. They left the North Pyramid and on towards the Sphinx. They missed Octavia on the way. Petunia did see Mina on the way, but did not even try to say hello. He's given up on trying to be friendly.

What else? The desert gang went to the Sphinx. There, Skarn, Dimitra, and Madis saw the large structure and checked it out. The three of them were spooked when they got in front of the Sphinx and got a riddle. The riddle this time was: "I am a tree that has no roots. I am bread with no taste. We live together yet not freely. I am a home that needs no place."

None of them got the answer right. Skarn said leaves, Dimitra answered roast while Madis answered rats. None of them guessed right and got no reward.

Meanwhile, Mahogany was close by. She was just sleeping in the Sphinx room, but she heard people close by.

She went to greet them.

Mahogany had her usual plan of trying to ally with them. The three tributes were wary of her. Mahogany was her charming self, making Skarn and Dimitra feel safe. Madis, however, knows who Mahogany is. He spend time with her before the Hunger Games and knows she's an apathetic Capitolite girl. He's not interested in allying with her.

When Madis rejected Mahogany, so did the other two.

Mahogany shrugged, "Oh well."

She attacked swiftly, taking out her khopesh and slashing Dimitra (the most unprepared of the three). Her torso gushed blood and she fell back on to the sand. The lack of mercy on her made the other two frightened.

Sadly, they had no weapons on them. Madis and Skarn had to make a run for it, and they went in the opposite direction. In the end, Mahogany decided to chase after Skarn. The girl from 1 tried her best.

It only took a minute of chasing for Skarn to get tired. Mahogany caught up and killed her.

Skarn Carter, District 1 Female: 10th Place, Killed by Mahogany. Day 5.

Dimitra is still alive but is quickly losing blood. She cried because of the pain she feels. She cried that she doesn't deserve this. A couple of minutes later, Dimitra died.

Dimitra Chonto, District 10 Female: 9th Place, Killed by Mahogany. Day 5.

The Final Eight tributes, ladies and gentlemen: Mina Corona from District 2, Octavia Debby from District 4, Petunia Alvarez and Ivy Millwork from District 7, Davis Riverroot from District 9, Gerolf Valerie from District 11, and Madis Kart and Mahogany Wellhorn from District 12.

Madis escaped his district partner, but he cries at the lose of his fallen allies. Mahogany, meanwhile, feels like she deserves a sponsor. She got one. A small note says, 'good job' and a whole jug of water.

That wasn't the only meet-up that day.

Gerolf met the Sevens. How did that turn out?

Surprisingly well.

Petunia introduced himself with a "Hello there?" but Petunia's peace offering isn't why the meeting was pleasant.

Gerolf was tired from walking in the desert, so he sorta gave up on life for a few minutes. He left his life to fate. He was most likely expecting the Seven's to kill them. Only to be pleasantly surprised by Petunia's friendliness and Ivy's biting remarks.

Whatever the case, the three got along. Gerolf mentioned that going to the Spinx is bad news since Mahogany was there. He got softer mentioning Marga's death. In any case, Ivy told him that they may as well go there to get revenge. Petunia was uncomfortable planning someone's death, but Ivy mentions that Mahogany is dangerous and that there will only be one way to handle her.

It was agreed that Gerolf went with Petunia and Ivy, seeking Mahogany's life.

Now, back to the North Pyramid.

Three tributes there traveled the tunnels.

There's Davis, who was in that area since the start. Mostly getting lost. He survived by eating bugs and getting sponsor gifts. In the end, he did find the special place he was searching for. The tomb of Khufu.

The mummy was annoyed to be awoken but asked Davis for some water. Davis provided his last bit of water. Khufu promised his protection for a day.

Octavia and Mina were both walking down the remarkably long tunnels in the tomb. Mina stopped like a frightened rabbit. Octavia smelt blood like a shark and ran at her at the first opportunity.

Mina ran as quickly as her legs could take her. Octavia could match her speed and surpass her. As she got behind Mina, she swiped her trident. Mina ducked as the two continued to run.

Mina found the Tomb of Khufu. Davis was sitting in the corner as Khufu insulted him. The mummy didn't appreciate the small amount of water much.

Octavia soon followed. Khufu noticed them and charged to protect Davis (he did still promise to protect him even if the offering was meager). Mina dodged when Khufu swung his arm.

Mina dodged when Khufu swung his arm. She ran from the killer mummy and left Octavia to fight Khufu. Octavia did not pass out on that challenge.

Octavia and Khufu's shuffle was a terrific fight. The mummy mutt lunged and attacked the career, which proved ineffective. Octavia had great success against it. She cut Khufu's bandaged arm and kicked it. The mummy was still going to fight against her. Khufu used his head as a ram to knock Octavia off-balance.

Octavia took that blow head-on, which did not even remotely impede her. She took that opportunity to bisect the mummy's head.

Meanwhile, Mina wanted to kill Davis. Something she did when he was distracted. Davis was staring at Octavia's fight with Khufu for too long. Mina stabbed him with a knife. Davis went down. Mina stabbed him a few more times.

Davis Riverroot, District 9 Male: 8th Place, Killed by Mina. Day 5.

After defeating the mummy Khufu, Octavia aimed her trident at Mina. The younger girl gulped.

Let us just say that Mina had a good run. She tried her best, but her dagger could not beat Octavia's trident. Octavia killed her within one swipe before Mina could even strike her.

Mina Corona, District 1 Female: 7th Place, Killed by Octavia. Day 5.

The girl from Four left the North Pyramid feeling victorious. She said to the cameras that she hopes to kill Mahogany next. But she decided to travel to the crystal pyramid cornucopia. She was pretty tired of traveling in the sandy desert.

Back near the Sphinx, Mahogany was waiting in its shade. Whistling tunes. Waiting...

She waited until the sunset. There, three tributes came by to hunt her down. Petunia and Ivy small-talked with Gerolf. The two tributes from Seven were happy to talk to someone new. Gerolf got a good laugh at their 'fake relationship' strategy.

The smiling stopped when they reached the Sphinx. Mahogany walked to them. She gave a little wave and smile.

"Hey," she said.

Petunia responded by instinct. "Hello."

"So polite. Guess you guys are here to finish me off."

"I'd apologize. But that's not something we could apologize for."

"Shame. I kind of wish we met up earlier. We could have been allies and had a friendly time."

Petunia stared. "That's kinda funny since I tried to be friendly with everyone and get some allies. But I doubt I could have stood being next to you as an ally."

Mahogany took that as her cue to strike. Quick as lighting, she immediately attacked Ivy. The girl from 7 was given a terrible wound to the torso.

Petunia automatically roared in anger at seeing his friend hurt. He swung his sword and got his own strike at Capitol girl. Dealing a blow to her side.

Mahogany seemed to have forgotten about Gerolf's crossbow or perhaps got overconfident. Gerolf aimed true and had an arrow piercing through her throat.

The wealthy girl born in District 12 died, tasting and spitting her blood. It was a sad affair since we did attempt to have her win slightly. We had to assassinate her father later on due to feelings for revenge.

Mahogany Wellhorn, District 12 Female: 6th Place, Killed by Geralf. Day 5.

Petunia held on to Ivy's hand, crying his heart out. All of them knew she would die soon from the deep cut. Ivy held on as best as she could. It looked as if she was trying to cheer Petunia despite her condition. Ivy's family will dearly miss her.

Geralf looked at the sharp custom-made khopesh on the dead Mahogany's hand and took it. He looked back at Petunia and dying Ivy. The girl noticed Geralf's intentions.

"Look out," she said her last words.

Ivy Millwork, District 7 Female: 5th Place, Killed by Mahogany. Day 5.

Petunia barely managed to dodge Geralf's deceitful attack. He jumped forward, and the back of his shirt got swiped by the khopesh. Petunia's look of betrayal did not affect Geralf. He instead got his crossbow and aimed at his former ally.

The arrow did get Petunia. Right in the stomach. He went down on the ground. Geralf did not hear a cannon. He decided to get close to Petunia to finish him off. A bad decision. Petunia used all his strength to punch Geralf and grab his khopesh from his hands. This time, Petunia made a terrible decision as Geralf aimed his sickle-like sword at Petunia's grasping hands, bisecting it.

Petunia's hand sprayed blood and screamed like a banshee. He got his hand messed up for nothing, and Geralf finished the friendly boy with one quick swipe of the khopesh.

Petunia Alvarez, District 7 Male: 4th Place, Killed by Geralf. Day 5.

Petunia's corpse stared at Geralf. The living tribute stared back.

"I'm not sorry. Kindness does not win the Hunger Games," he said. The man walked away as the winner of this fight.

Day 6 happened an hour later.

I waited until the sun to announce the ending of this Hunger Games.

"Tributes. Three of you remain. Let us end this. Go to the cornucopia. By the end of the day, if you don't, you will die," I said.

Octavia made it through the desert first. The large stretch of sand could not stop the upcoming fight.

She was waiting for her prey to come.

Meanwhile, Geralf and Madis meet on their way to the cornucopia. Geralf, in an unexpected move, waved his hand and gave Madis his most friendly smile.

Geralf wanted to team up with Madis against Octavia, the dangerous career. Madis said Geralf could also be dangerous. As a show of trust, Geralf gave Madis a crossbow. Madis has nothing to fight with, so he appreciates the gesture and agrees to team up against Octavia.

After planning out their attack, they walked to the cornucopia.

It took a couple of nerve-wracking hours till the other two got there. But got there they did. Octavia noticed far off the two tributes walking. She immediately figured out they formed an alliance of convenience against her.

Octavia got her bow and arrow and aimed at them.

While Geralf and Madis had a plan of attack. Shame that Octavia got to them first. The arrow was expertly shot from a far-off distance. The arrow got Geralf's head. It was an impressive kill. One that surprised even Octavia considering how far off her first shot was.

Geralf Valerie, District 11 Male: 3rd Place, Killed by Octavia. Day 6/Finale.

Madis was wide-eyed by Geralf's death and gulped at having to go down there to face a career. He took Geralf's khopesh. He hoped it could give him a slightly higher of surviving.

Octavia fired two more times, but those missed, unlike her lucky first arrow.

"Alright. Let's not make this too easy," she said. She waited for her final fight. Her fight with Madis, a weaker tribute. Octavia wished to fight him head-on. She was plenty confident that her victory was reassured.

Madis started getting into a range he was comfortable with for his crossbow. His first time using such a weapon did not go well, and missed by a wide margin.

Octavia snorted. She then ran at her final opponent.

Madis hurried up and reloaded the crossbow. At this point, Octavia was closer in range and was easier to aim. Something Octavia should have considered. This time, the arrow did land true. The career got hit in her upper right arm. It was her good arm. Her over-confidence put her at a disadvantage.

In any case, now she got close enough to harm him. She tried to stab Madis with her trident, but Madis once more got the upper hand. Madis, in his moment of panic, got his khopesh and waved it to block the trident. While his move was sloppy, it was enough. The khopesh is probably a weapon we gamemakers shouldn't have made. It was a sharp weapon to have and it tore off the forked end of Octavia's trident.

Both Madis and Octavia blinked for a second in surprise. The surprise wore off as Madis ran through her with the khopesh. He left it on the career's torso.

The career's face slammed into the sandy ground, a shocked expression on her face.

Madis himself looked surprised and relieved. His dazed face turned to the sun.

Octavia Debby, District 4 Female: 2nd Place, Killed by Madis. Day 6/Finale.

Madis Kart, Distrct 12 Male: 1st Place, Victor of the 11th Hunger Games.

-THE AFTERMATH FILE-

11th HG:
Name: Madis Kart (M)
District: 12(#1)
Age: 15

Bio: A forgettable background within District 12. Madis belonged to a family of miners. A dime a dozen. Madis was no doubt going to be a miner before fate chose him to be in the Hunger Games. District 12 is a miserable place where most people become miners who become exploited by the merchants who are then exploited by the Capitol.

Victor Tour: In District 1, District 10, and District 11, he came up with heartfelt speeches for the families of the tributes he allied with. With Skarn's family, he gave praises to her intelligence. With Dimitri's family, he told them she was braver than anyone he's ever met. When it came to Geralf's family, Madis knew at that point he joined up with someone who betrayed his ally. Even if it was a short while, Madis still praised his character. He told them that Geralf just wanted to home to them. In District 12, he was practically celebrated for surviving Mahogany, something Madis himself was happy about.

After the HG: Madis lived a mostly ordinary life. He got married to a woman named Lola Diamond when he turned 21. He had over six children with her. That said, he never kept his dislike for the Capitol a secret. He made snide remarks now and then. One time, when drunk, he wished that Capitol would just burn. While he himself was never a rebel, he had to be punished. For the 41st Hunger Games, the reapings would be rigged. It will be taking his second-born child Skarn. Madis would never enter that Capitol ever again after that.
