After dinner that evening, I followed DJ into the office since Jesse mentioned something about a letter she had received in the mail.

"Where's the letter?" I asked her.

"Right here," she answered as she handed it to me.

"When did this come in?" I asked.

"Today. I thought I would wait until I said something when you came home, but Uncle Jesse did that job instead," she told me.

"Good enough. Let me see what Michelle was saying," I replied.

"Michelle doesn't need to know everything on what I do," DJ told me.

"Of course she doesn't, but she's curious," I said as I read the letter.

"What do you think? Is that okay if we see them?" she asked me.

"I think it's all right, honey. We can just go from there," I answered.

"All right. I'll tell Mary Anne then," DJ said.

"That's all right. I will tell Michelle not to bother you when you get mail later," I said.

"All right. I know she wants to know what's going on, but she doesn't need to know about Dawn and her friends coming over," she replied.

"They're not her friends, DJ," I told her.

"I know. She might even have something like this happen to her when she gets my age," DJ replied.

"Looks that way," I agreed.

We kept talking as I turned the computer on.

"Do you want me to talk with Michelle?" DJ asked me.

"That would be great," I answered as I logged on my email account.

"I'll go talk with her when I can. I just want to get homework out of the way first," she told me.

"All right. Was Stephanie around when you got that letter?" I asked.

"No. She only came to get Michelle when Uncle Jesse called to talk with her," she replied.

"Thank you for taking care of it, DJ," I said.

"You're welcome," she said as she left the office.

I saw there were only a few emails to be answered, so I did that. I don't reply to everything.

"Michelle!" I heard DJ call.

"What?" Michelle asked.

"Can we talk?" DJ asked her.

"About what?" Michelle wanted to know.

"That letter you saw me open earlier today," she answered.

"Does Daddy know?" Michelle asked me.

"Of course he does," she answered.

"That's what I thought. DJ, why did you have to tell Daddy?" Michelle asked.

That was the only conversation I was able to hear between both DJ and Michelle. I don't need to hear anymore about it.

"Daddy!" I heard Michelle call.

I got up from the computer and joined them.

"What is it, Michelle?" I asked.

She told me what she wanted.

"Michelle, we don't need to know everything that goes on with DJ unless she decides to share with us or not. Do you understand that?" I asked.

"Yes, Daddy," Michelle answered.

"Is that all you called me for?" I asked.

"Yes, Daddy," Michelle repeated.

"All right. I'll be in the office if you need me," I told them.

"We can talk in my room, Michelle," DJ replied.

"Fine with me," Michelle said as she followed DJ to her room.

Now I will just let DJ take over from here.
