Looks like we're in 2025 now and that will have its own set of challenges.
Now then it's time to continue this story.
Let's get the show on the road.

Chapter 14: a thunderous clash part 2: Bat vs Panther
Both Shades and Jack were now in their transformed forms, Jack as Shadow Panther and Shades as Dark Bat.
They had their weapons drawn and they were glaring at each other.
Then they charged forwards and swung their weapons and began round 2 of their fight.
Shadow Panther was relying on using power and speed to try to defeat Dark Bat who was using, speed, defense and power to fight on.
Dark Bat was trying to be careful, but Shadow Panther was being very speedy and tricky and he got a few hits in, but Dark Bat returned the favor but it did power the suit up a bit more.
They fought all over the place and destroying some buildings in the process.
"Well Jack I must say you did improve since our last encounter, last time you couldn't keep up with me." Dark Bat said.
"That's true Shades, but now the tables have turned and take this Rip Tide!" he shouted.
He formed two water balls and makes them into lines going in opposite directions crossing the attack at Dark Bat.
"Torrent of flames!" Dark Bat bellowed.
As he unleashed a blast of fire from his hands to counter attack and the result was steam covering the field.
"Nice counter Shades but it's not enough to beat me Rock Wave!"
Shadow Panther slammed his fist to the ground and summons a swell of rocks from the ground that surges quickly toward Dark Bat.
He got hit from the attack and was knocked back a bit, but held his ground.
But Shadow Panther kept on the offensive and launched another Rock Wave attack.
"Tch."
Dark Bat clicked his tongue and then jump high in the air, avoiding the attack.
"Nice try Jack, but not going to work a 2nd time, Mega Roar!" he bellowed.
He let out a loud roar that send shockwaves at Shadow Panter damaging him and making the suit build up more power. Then he dived in and deliver a right hook punch in his face sending him into a building.
The storms have gathered around them and lightning flashed and thunder roared in the skies.
But Shadow Panther was not down yet.
"Vine Snare!"
Suddenly vines came from his hands and ensnared Dark Bat.
"What the hell?" he said shocked.
"Got you this time Dark Bat." He said as he came out of the hole of the building but was glowing.
Dark Bat knew he was in big trouble, the suit was fully charged and now he had to make his big move.
"Time to end this." Said Shadow Panther.
He then spun his staff around building up energy to use his move.
But while he was doing that, Dark Bat used his own strength and broke free from the vines.
"Ok now it's time." He whispered.
In his hand was a magical yellow hexagon rune and he released it in the air and then a yellow spirit came out of Dark Bat's body and went into the rune.
Shadow Panther's was now ready to strike.
"Take this fool PANTHER'S SHOCK WAVE ROAR!"
He slammed the staff into the ground and released all the energy he had stored up and the shockwave turn into a panther and charged as it roared heading towards Dark Bat.
"Symphonic Shield!"
Suddenly a few music notes played and then a multi color beam of light shined on Dark Bat forming an energy shield to protect him from the attack.
The attack hit the shield but it struggled until it dissipated into the air.
"WHAT?!" shouted Shadow Panther as his attack failed.
Then the shield faded away.
"Looks like your attack failed." Dark Bat smirked.
"HOW?!" shouted Shadow Panther who was now pissed.
"Looks like you didn't have time to prepare for something like this and now it's time to end this." Dark Bat said.
"You'll pay for that Dark Bat!" growled Shadow Panther. "Lavalanche!"
He fired twin blasts of enormous surge of molten lava rushes towards Dark Bat but he was ready."
"Melody of Mirage!" he yelled out.
More music notes played again and Dark Bat made a lot of copies of himself and now Shadow Panther can't tell who was the real one.
"Ok no more tricks, deal with this Rock Wave!" Shadow Panther shouted and launched another attack.
The attack hit the Dark Bats but it went through them and did nothing as they all vanished.
"What the hell where did he go?" he said surprised.
"Over here." Came a voice.
Shadow Panther turned around and saw Dark Bat flying above him.
"Inferno Gust!"
He let out a gust of flames and struck Shadow Panther hard, he was really feeling the pain now, since he used his Miraculous' power he can't do it again until Shuri recharges.
But Shadow Panther leaped into the air to attack once more and did a claw swipe but Dark Bat dodged him.
"it's over Jack. ViperLash!" Dark Bat said as snakes came out of his right hand and struck Shadow Panther and send him to the ground hard.
"Now to finish this Power Punch!"
Dark Bat fired a barrage of energy shaped fists at Shadow Panther dealing even more damage to him.
Then it was time.
He held his blade up in the air and activated his Miraculous.
"Vampire's blade!"
He then he aimed down and charged towards Shadow Panther and then he started spinning, wrapping himself with his cape and moved at great speed.
"Take this Jack, Vampire wrath impact!"
He then slammed into Shadow Panther making a big crater in the process and Jack's scream echoed through out the town as lightning flashed across the sky.
When the smoke cleared up, Shadow Panther was breathing hard as he was in a lot of pain, Dark Bat was panting as well so he put his sword away.
Then rain came down on them.
"It's over Jack I won this fight, so that gives me the right to take Shuri." He said.
He bend down and took the Miraculous off of Shadow Panther and he changed back into Jack who was very beaten up.
"Thank you Shades." Shuri said.
"No problem little one. Vlad now take a rest." He said.
Dark Bat changed back into Shades.
"Ok you 2 time to return back." He said.
Both Kwami's nodded and went back into their jewels and Shades put them in his pocket for safe keeping, then he snapped his fingers and he was back in his regular suit.
"What are you waiting for Shades, finish it already." Jack coughed.
Shades turned around and raised his cane ready to strike and Jack closed his eyes waiting for the end.
But he opened his eyes to see the cane beside his head and not through him, Shades pulled it back and gave him a glaring look.
"No Jack that would be the easy choice, you don't deserve that, I spare you because we were once friends and since you save me a long time ago, I'm going to do the same thing." Said Shades.
He brought out 2 cups and a jar that had the label 'Blue medicine' on it and poured blue liquid into the cups.
"Here drink up, it'll restore some of your energy, enough for you to leave." He told him.
Jack weakly got up and slowly drank the medicine and he did felt some of his energy coming back to him and the same thing happened to Shades.
"Consider us even." Shades said as he got up.
He then jumped out of the crater and began walking away.
"Wait Shades catch!" shouted Jack as he threw something.
Shades caught it and looked to see a green and blue flash drive.
"Huh?" he was surprised and confused.
"If you're so set on defeating the boss, then you're going to need to learn everything about his plans and everything, but you must deal with Hawk Moth first." Jack explained.
"Why are you giving me this?" Shades asked.
Jack gave him a small smirk.
"Because the fighting it reminded me of the times we fought side by side and now even now I recalled the time I saved your ass and now you did the same thing for me, so yeah consider us even." Said Jack.
A small smile formed on Shades' face.
"Thanks Jack." He said.
"Don't mention it." He replied.
He slowly got up and was standing.
"You know what will happen next Jack." Shades said solemnly.
"I know." Jack answered. "But I can buy you time, let me make this up to you for joining that fool's group, even I perish trying, I will atone for what I have done to you."
Shades then nodded.
"Good luck Jack." He said.
"Thanks Shades." He replied.
Jack then snapped his fingers and disappeared as a flash of lightning.
Shades let out a sigh, he then used his powers to warp back to Paris to his hideout.
When he got there he was very exhausted, lucky for him Felix was already fast asleep.
"Damn that battle took a lot out of me this time." He whispered.
He went to the fridge and put together a small platter of food and then went back to his room and then fed the Kwami's and he ate his own food next and then placed the jewels in the boxes and then put them and the flash drive in a magic box of his own making for protection for them and he'll look at the drive later at a different time and he then dismissed his powers and changed into his sleep clothes and got in bed and went to sleep at once.
However as Shades helps Adrien getting ready to expose Lila, soon he'll need both his and Ladybug's help against his own enemies and something says that Hawkmoth will be in the equation as well and when that happens all hell breaks loose.

Sorry it took so long, my idea factories had some trouble and now they're working fine.
Now then the battle between Shades as Dark Bat and Jack as Shadow Panther has come to an end with Shades being the winner and in case you're wondering why Shades spared Jack when he asked him to finish him off, it's because even though they fought, Shades still considered Jack his friend and that reached Jack's heart and made him remembered the times they had together, so Jack will help him out even though it will eventually cost him his life.
Now more about Shades' past and his enemies will be revealed some time in vol 2.
Now then the attacks that Shades and Jack used like Viper lash and Inferno Gust along with the spells like Symphonic Shield and Melody of Mirage those are from a card game and show around in the year 2006.
Those are the only clues.
Now then this is the new chapter for 2025, once it's uploaded I will be busy with another chapter for another Story on Ao3.
So next chapter for this won't be out for a while.
Now then I will say this I will have vol 1 of this finish sometime around late February or mid-March no promises though.
But I will say this once I get my other chapter done. There is another story I need to update since it's been a while since I last worked on it.
Now then with that all said and done it's time to get ready to get started with 2025.
