At the bridge, demons were heading towards the bridge. Diamant watches as the demons adventure to the bridge. He was confused about what was going on. Although they are still a threat.
"Soldiers! Defend the bridge! We cannot let the enemy in! In position!" Diamant ordered.
The soldiers quickly get into position to defend the bridge. Diamant jumped down in front of the door. He took his ax out and he readied himself. As the demons stepped on the bridge, the soldiers started the attack.
The archers shot the arrows like rain falling down from the sky. The demons got shot, but there are still more demons coming. The ground units charged in and attacked. The battlefield has started.
Diamant swung his ax as he sliced the large demon down. A flying demon came and shot some strange demonic magic. The red haired king dodged the attack, but the demonic magic caused an explosion from the ground. The demons aren't no ordinary monsters. This will be a dangerous fight. Diamant isn't the one to lose a fight. He started to run as he dragged his ax on the ground. Then he used his legs to jump and swung his ax at the one eye demon weak point. It's eye. As the demon fell, Diamant continued his assault against the demons.
Alena arrived at the scene. She sees a battlefield at the bridge. The roars of the battle echoed in the skies. Alena rushed at the bridge. She took out her sword and helped the soldiers being attacked. The queen of Brodia cut down the demons then pressed on forward.
Diamant was able to take down to the middle of the horde. He was taking a quick breath before attacking again. He found the leader of the horde, but something was different with this monster. It was larger, wings, horns, spikes down to its back to its tail, big sharp claws and teeth, legs of a minotaur, arms of a hellhound and the face looks like a mix of a hellhound and minotaur. The leader sensed the king of Brodia and lunged at his attack.
Diamant quickly blocked the attack with his ax. The monster pushed him with its strength. Diamant was struggling to keep his ground. The large monster swung its tail to strike. Diamant can't block that when he is being blocked.
A sudden slash out of nowhere. The tail was cut off from the slash. Diamant was saved. He sees a familiar person. The Queen of Brodia.
There was no time to thank her for saving him. They both looked at each and nodded. It was like they were reading each other's minds.
The monster's tail regenerates as if nothing happens. Then raised its tail to target Alena. She dodged it then strikes back with another slash, but this time on the arm. The arm fell off and Diamant took his chance to attack. He pushed the monster back causing it to lose balance. Then he swung his ax at the monster's face. The monster roared in pain as it fell into the ground dead.
The horde of monsters sees that the leader is dead. They back away from Diamant and Alena. They were afraid to attack. So they started to retreat. Leaving the bridge.
"The enemy has escaped! We have successfully defended the bridge!" The King of Brodia shouted with encouragement.
The soldiers roared their victory. The King and Queen glanced at each other and nodded. They won the battle, but more monsters will come back soon. For now, they can relax until more comes.
The soldiers were cleaning up the mess, moving the injuries and treating the injured. The bridge was a messy battle. Alena was treating the soldiers and thanked them for protecting the kingdom they loved. Everyone was happy to be praised by the Queen. Alena went to find Diamant.
Diamant was standing on the top of the building watching from above. He watches the soldiers cleaning up the mess.
"Diamant."
He turned the source of the voice. "Alena, what happened to Citrinne and Lapis?"
"I told them to defend the castle if the monsters attacked there too. That is why I am here. I'm sure that will be fine. They are strong." Alena reassured.
Diamant knows that Amber and the others can defend the castle. He was scared of Alena getting hurt.
"I know. I just don't want you to get hurt. That's all."
Alena gives a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about me. As long as everyone and the kingdom is safe. Although, I wonder if my brother got attacked too."
"Probably so. But not just Lythos, Firene, Solm and Elusia will get attacked."
Alena was deep in thought. "It can't be the remains of Sombron. He is already gone. Gradlon had perished alongside him."
"We can't be sure. For now, let's go back to the castle and see if we can get information from the other kingdoms."
Alena nodded her head. "Right. Our retainers are waiting for us."
Both the King and Queen of Brodia went back to the castle to find out what was going on.
They arrived back at the castle. The others were there too but they were gathered around to someone. The two royals glanced at each other, curious what was going on. Alena saw someone familiar as they got closer. It was Zelestia. She was talking to the others. Her expression was worried.
"Zelestia!" Alena shouted.
Zelestia turns to Alena and runs up to her. She quickly grabbed her shoulders. "Lady Alena, are you okay?!"
Alena was confused. "I am. Is there something wrong?"
Zelestia sighed in relief. "Well, I'm sure you saw the demons that attacked the bridge. It also happened in Lythos."
"Is everyone okay?" Alena was a bit worried.
"Don't worry. Everyone is all right. The Four Winds went to each kingdom to warn about the demons. Since Brodia got attacked, we don't when they come back."
"Diamant and I were able to drive away the demons for now. Were you guys able to locate where they are coming from?"
Zelestia shook her head. "Unfortunately, we don't. These demons just arrived in Elyos. We just don't know when."
"We have to be careful. We don't know what the demons can do. We will inform you if we find anything else about the demons."
Zelestia nodded. "Of course. Well, I should head back. I'll tell King Alear that his dear twin sister is alright with her darling husband."
Alena laughed. "That should be Vander. Anyway, be careful on your way back."
"I will." Zelestia left Brodia Castle.
Everyone watched as Zelestia left. Everyone was feeling a bit under the weather. Now, they have to fight another enemy.
"The 3 years we created have been destroyed. How can these demons appear in Elyos?"
"Peace doesn't last long. There will be someone who wants to start another war. Anyone had their motivation to do something against the world." Amber commented.
Jade folded her arms on her chest. "Although, we don't know where the demons are coming from. They could have a nest somewhere in Elyos."
Diamant sees where Jade is coming from. "They could, but the best could be their backup location. The real one could be somewhere far away from Elyos."
Citrinne and Lapis were worried about Alcryst in Firene. They could attack as well. Alcryst is known for being a klutz.
The queen turned to them. She gives a reassuring smile. "I know you two are worried about Alcryst, but he is with Céline and Alfred. They will be fine."
They both looked at their queen and nodded. They are still a little worried, but they know that Alcryst is strong.
There are two men in the group. They look like retainers. One of them has crimson spiky hair, orange with yellow central eyes, a sturdy body, a wolf head shoulder pad on the right side, blue light cloth with white highlights, silver boots, and a scar on the left eye. A large black wolf with yellow eyes was standing next to him. Lastly, he looks like he is 19 years old, black messy hair, grey eyes, blue light armor, blue boots, sleek body and wears glasses.
They don't know much about Lythos besides their queen once lived there.
"Who was she?" The crimson haired asked.
"That was Zelestia, leader of the Four Winds. She's the guardian of Lythos. She helped us fight the Fell Dragon." Alena replied to the new retainers.
"There is so much I didn't know what was going on. I was too busy minding my own business that the world was in danger."
The other agreed with him. "Although the Fell Dragon minions were roaming around in Elyos. I was still in training when it was happening." The black haired retainer said.
"Don't worry. The world is a big place. There are a lot of places we haven't visited because of the Fell Dragon."
Amber put his arms around the black haired retainer. "You guys will see the world soon enough."
"I hope so. I want to see the world."
"You will, Soren." Alena gives a gentle smile. "You as well, Ruby."
The two retainers nodded. Diamant cleared his throat that they were going off topic. Everyone chuckled.
"Anyways, stay alerted."
Everyone nodded.
Alena had a bad feeling about the demons they attacked. "Diamant, do you know where the demons were heading?"
"From where they were heading, they were going east," then it clicked him. "This isn't good. Elusia is in danger."
In Lythos, Alear was on the balcony watching the scenery. He can't sense any danger coming. The skies are still clear and beautiful. Maybe the land will get destroyed once again. Unlike his twin sister, he senses things that are nearby. But his twin sister can understand emotions by looking into someone's eyes.
Nel arrived at the balcony. She watches at Alear as he glances at the scenery. She walked forward. Alear turned around as he heard her coming. She stopped as Alear glared at her.
The King of Lythos smiled and reached his hand out. Nel took his invitation. They look at the scenery together. They could look at the scenery all day but another threat appeared in Elyos.
"I wish we could stay like this, but the demons will return again. Alear, could we… you know." Nel was nervous.
Alear understood what she meant. He blushed softly. He coughed to focus back to reality.
"Well, once this whole situation is over. We can. I promise."
Nel blushed heavily. She didn't think he would accept it, but for 3 years. He is very generous and handsome. She is happy that he chose her to be his wife. She nodded.
"I shall be waiting. You better keep your promise, Alear."
He laughed softly. "No worries. I won't break my promise. Especially for you."
He changed his voice. It was deep and lust. Nel fell for his voice as she was lost in her own world. She didn't know what happened to his voice. It was luring her in.
A sudden throat clear ruined their moment. The two couples turned to sound. It was one of Nel's retainers who broke the immerse. She was blushing softly from the two couples.
Nel took a breath to adjust herself. As she was finished, she went back to her usual self.
"What brings you here, Juri?"
Juri is around her mid 20s with a slim body, lavender eyes, long dark chocolate hair, ears pierced with dangling earrings, purple light armor with white highlights, long brown boot hills and silver necklace around her neck. She bowed to the royals.
"The Four Winds have returned from their missions. They are waiting for you in the throne room."
"Thank you, Juri," Alear looked at Nel. "Shall we get going?"
The queen nodded. "We can get information on the other kingdoms on what they learn."
Alear led the way as Nel trailed behind him. Juri followed suit to make sure they wouldn't get ambushed by demons.
They arrived at the throne room. The Four Winds and the others were waiting for them to arrive.
Rafal scoffed when the two of them entered. "You took your time."
Alear shrugged at him. Rafal knows what his sister and Alear were doing. They were spending a lot of time together. Framme and Clanne saw this a hundred times, but seeing it again made them feel happy.
"I see that The Four Winds have returned from their mission. What is the situation?" Alear asked. He noticed that Madeline wasn't here.
"Solm was attacked. They were able to defend their home thanks to their advantage in the desert." Gregory said.
"Same with Firene. Thanks to Prince Alcryst's skills with the bow." Mauvier said.
"Brodia was attacked too. They were able to hold off the demons. King Diamant drove them off. Your sister is fine." Zelestia said.
Alear was surprised that Elusia didn't get attacked. Was it because the Fell Dragon was resurrected from the church.
"Elusia hasn't been attacked. That's good to hear. They should be able to have time to guard the kingdom."
"Maybe we should go and assist them before the demons arrive in Elusia." Vander recommended.
Alear likes the idea. "We could. It would help them fight off the demons with bigger numbers."
Nel feels something was off from the demons. "Is it a little odd they left Elusia untouched and the rest attacked?"
Alear nodded. "I was thinking the same. They attacked the other kingdoms and left Elusia alone. Why?"
"Maybe because they are going full on to attack on Elusia." Rafal added.
"No way. They left to attack Elusia. We need to hurry and help them. They will get outnumbered. We are going to Elusia. I hope we can make it in time." Alear ordered.
"I'll do my best to help Elusia again." Velye said. She wanted to apologize to Ivy for the bad things she had done in Elusia. Ivy already forgave her, but Velye wanted to redeem herself for what she had done.
Everyone was ready for their journey to Elusia. This will be the first time for royals new retainers going on an adventure. Alear hopes they make it before the demons do their full scale attack on Elusia.
Here is the chapter. This is short. I also added my own retainers for the flow of the story. I'm still accepting OC's. All of the royals are opened. Remember to post your OCs in the comment.
