San Junipero, The Next Day

Yorkie decided that the best thing to do was to get on with her life, or afterlife, as the case may be. So, she dried her eyes, got dressed, put on her glasses (again), and drove into town. She walked into Tuckers, looking to play one of the arcade games, when she ran into a familiar face.

"Oh hey, its you" she said

"Hi there" the guy, also wearing glasses said

"I'm sorry, I feel like I keep blowing you off"

"Its okay. Don't worry about it"

"I'm Yorkie" she said

"Davis" and they shook hands

"Wanna play something?" Yorkie offered

"Sure, why not this one" he suggested, and they began playing.

After the game, they were excited and filled with adrenaline, and they high fived. He then moved in to kiss her, and she turned away.

"I'm sorry, my bad. I shouldn't have..."

"No, its okay." Yorkie said, nervously, which in turn made Davis even more nervous

"I guess I'm not your type" Davis replied

"Don't take it personally" Yorkie said "You're just the wrong gender"

"oh…

ooooh, so you're..." Davis took a few seconds to realize what she meant, and then realized what to say next.

"So, who is she?"

"Who's who?"

"You know, DDR girl, really good, in spite of the heels. I didn't catch her name"

"Oh, that's Kelly"

"Is she your, uh, girlfriend" Davis was unsure if this was the right word, or even if he should be asking this question. But he was curious.

"She was. But she, well..." Yorkie trailed off

"Its okay, you don't have to talk about it" Davis reassured her

"No, its fine. Its just that, I passed over yesterday, but..." Yorkie was almost crying at this point "She's a widow, so she decided not to" and she then slid down the side of the machine, until she was sitting on the floor, almost hugging her knees, and as she did so, a tear rolled down each of her cheeks. Davis was way out of his depth at this point. But he decided to sit down next to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. At which point she hugged him and began crying on his shoulder for a moment, but just a moment.

"There, there" he said, awkwardly, returning her hug, and stroking her back, in a way that he hoped showed compassion and not creepiness.

Once the tears passed, Yorkie broke the hug, and said "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."

"Don't worry about it" he said, looking around "but I think we should probably move, in case we're blocking people"

Davis then helped Yorkie up, and showed her to a booth.
