Elena was up early the next morning. Actually, that wasn't accurate. She had barely slept at all. If it wasn't the excessive memory flashes, it was the agony of what Stefan had done to her that kept her up. She actually wasn't sure what was worse. The fact that Stefan had violated her body or that he violated her mind. Raping her was bad enough. She felt disgusting just thinking about it, but the fact that he compelled her to believe she wanted him was almost worse. No, in fact, it was worse. He compelled her to believe she loved him, and that wasn't even half of what he'd done to her mind. Her mind was in shambles. There were so many compulsions that she didn't even know what was real anymore. Where did she end and the compulsions begin? Did she even have one single memory before she turning into a werewolf that was accurate, or had they all either been fabricated or influenced by Stefan?

Elena was still having the flashes regarding Klaus being her father. She'd thought she was losing her mind before, but after talking with Lucy last night, she wasn't so sure. But how could Klaus possibly be her father? He was a vampire. Vampires couldn't have children. Then again, she only had the words of Stefan and Damon on that. She didn't know anything anymore. She didn't even know who she was.

Elena soon heard someone enter the kitchen. She looked up in time to see Jeremy come in.

"Hey. Are you okay?" Jeremy asked. He knew it was a stupid question, but it was the only thing he could think to ask. He hated what happened to his sister. He wanted nothing more than to murder Stefan, and if ever saw him again, he swore that he would.

Elena shook her head. "I don't think I'm ever going to be okay again, Jer."

Jeremy went over and took a seat across from his sister. "That's not true. You'll be okay. You've survived a lot."

"Not worse than this. You know, I didn't even like him. Stefan. He creeped me out from the beginning. There was just something off about him. Then he compelled me to love him, and I couldn't fight him," Elena said in a shaky voice.

"I'm so sorry," Jeremy said sadly.

"I didn't like Damon either, not after what he did to Caroline and then you," Elena said. For the life of her, she couldn't figure out how she could forgive Damon for what he did to Caroline, and then later breaking Jeremy's neck. Well, she could figure it out. It was just that the memory of it hadn't surfaced yet.

"You think he compelled you to?" Jeremy asked.

"I don't remember that yet, but probably," Elena said as she played with the necklace dangling from her neck. "It's funny. Stefan gave me this to keep me from being compelled. He must have gotten some sick pleasure out of that. I wonder how many times he ripped it from my neck in order to compel me again," Elena said.

"Take it off. I'll get rid of it for you," Jeremy said. She shouldn't have to look at something that was a constant reminder of the freak who violated her in more ways than one.

As Elena looked down at her necklace, she got another flash.

Elena found herself in a room done up in pink. There was a blonde woman with her, hugging her.

"How is my favorite newly turned six-year-old doing today," she said.

Elena pouted. "Daddy says I have to wait until he gets home for cake and presents."

She chuckled. "Don't worry. Your daddy will be home any minute, but I have one present you can open now."

"Really?" Elena asked excitedly.

"Uh huh. Here you go," she said before pulling out a small box.

Elena opened the box to find a necklace inside. "This is your necklace, Auntie 'Bekah."

"Not anymore. Now it's yours. It was your grandmother's first. Now it's yours. It should be worn around the neck of Mikaelson witch, and you will be a very powerful one," Rebekah said.

"It's so pretty. Thank you, Auntie, Bekah," Elena said before hugging her.

"Elena, are you okay?" Jeremy asked. He was fairly certain she was having another flash.

Elena looked at her brother. "This necklace is mine. It was mine before Stefan gave it to me, I think."

"What do you mean you think?" Jeremy asked.

"I'm not sure what's real anymore, but I remember someone else giving this to me. Stefan doesn't get to take it away," Elena said. It also wasn't lost on her that in her flash, she remembered being a witch, but she couldn't dwell on that right now. There were so many other questions in her head that were more important.

"Elena, Lucy said that you were older than we thought you were? What do you think that means?" Jeremy asked. He was trying to sort things out in his head as well, and he really couldn't. How could Elena be that old? He remembered her as a child, but she had mentioned having memories from like a century ago.

Elena closed her eyes sadly. "I think it means a lot of things that none of are going to like. And I think it means that nothing is ever going to be the same.

Elena got into Caroline's car with her and Bonnie. She'd asked them to come and get her. There was something she had to do, and she needed them with her.

"Are you sure you want to do this, Elena? I don't think you're ready for this," Bonnie said.

"I'm never going to be ready for this, Bonnie. I need to know the truth. Stefan is the only one who can give me that," Elena said. Well, there was also Klaus, but she was pretty sure he was long gone. Besides, she wasn't really to talk to him. She didn't even know what she'd say to him. For all she knew, her flashes weren't real. For all she knew, Stefan's compulsions had destroyed her mind and caused those flashes. She couldn't talk to Klaus until she knew the truth.

"What makes you think he will? For all you know, he could lie or refuse to tell you anything," Caroline said.

"Oh, he's going to tell her the truth. I'll make sure of that," Bonnie said in a dangerous tone.

"If he's even there. He hasn't been answering his phone at all," Caroline said.

"Because he knows he's been caught," Bonnie fumed.

"I'll ask Damon then," Elena said. She was pretty sure Damon was in on this. She was certain he'd compelled her too.

"Are you prepared for what you're going to hear?" Caroline asked.

"As prepared as I can be. Since we're on the subject, I should probably tell you that I'm fairly certain that Isobel and John were not my parents," Elena said.

Bonnie nodded. "We figured out about John when you shifted into a wolf. After what Lucy said, it was pretty much a given that they weren't your parents. It doesn't matter to us who your parents are,"

"It's not just that. I'm pretty sure things are going to get a lot worse when we talk to the Salvatore's. I think it's going to change everything," Elena said.

"Why?" Caroline asked.

"Because I can't recall a single moment of my childhood in Mystic Falls, not one single moment," Elena admitted. She'd been trying. There were things she knew that happened, but when she tried to remember them, it didn't work. She supposed that could be because of all the confusion going on in her head, but she wasn't very certain about that.

"Nothing? You don't remember the first day we met? The first day of high school?" Caroline asked in a horrified tone.

Elena shook her head. "I know what happened in both those instances, but I can't picture the memory."

"Maybe that's because of the compulsions. Maybe Stefan compelled the memories away," Bonnie said.

Elena shook her head sadly. "That would've gone away along with the other compulsions, and he has no reason to compel them away. It seems more likely that he compelled me to think I remembered those moments, and once the compulsion wore off, I realized that I couldn't remember." 'Because they never happened' was on the tip of her tongue, but she didn't say it.

"What's the first thing about us that you do remember?" Bonnie asked with a feeling of dread in her stomach.

"I'm not sure. There's so much going on in my head right now. Images still flood though at any given time. I get memories the feel like they should be impossible. I'm not even sure what's real. Sometimes I feel like I've gone crazy, like maybe what Stefan did broke me," Elena cried.

"Well, maybe that's why you can't remember. Maybe there's just too much going on in your brain to think of those old memories," Bonnie said.

"Alright, we're going to the Salvator house right now. We're going to demand answers from Stefan and Damon, and we're not going to jump to conclusions until we hear what they have to say," Caroline said before pulling out of the driveway. As she drove, she tried desperately to heed her own advice, because there were several horrible scenarios going through her head right now.
