Finn was up early the next morning. It was going to be a rough day. He was going to have to tell his siblings all about their aunt and what really happened to Freya. Niklaus needed to know about the threat coming for his daughter. He didn't look forward to it. Both of them had been through enough. He didn't have much respect for his younger brother, but no one deserved to suffer what he and his child had. And it wasn't over. If Dahlia was still alive, and he honestly didn't know if she was, she would come for Sadie.

Soon, Elijah made it downstairs and into the kitchen, where he found his brother. "Good morning, brother."

"Elijah," Finn greeted.

"I hope you slept well," Elijah said.

"I've slept for nine hundred years," Finn couldn't help but say bitterly. That was sort of true anyway. After a while, being daggered was more than just being asleep. It became a prison.

Elijah sighed. He knew his brother would express anger at some point. He couldn't even say he was wrong for it. "Finn, we felt we had no choice with Father after us and your hatred of what we were."

Finn glared at his brother. "I do not wish to get into this right now, but I will never agree that you had no choice. You did what you did to appease Niklaus, and he did it for his own selfish reasons. Have enough decency to admit that much."

Elijah sighed, but he didn't deny it. He told himself that he let Finn remain daggered for the good of the rest of them, but Finn was right. He did it for Niklaus' benefit, because he felt guilty about not protecting his younger brother.

Finn decided to change the subject. He truly didn't want to discuss this now. There was too much that had to be dealt with. "How is Sadie?"

"Yes, I suppose we all heard her screaming last night. She has nightmares about her capture," Elijah told him.

"Does she have them often? I thought she couldn't remember what happened," Finn said.

"She remembers the night she was taken, it seems, but nothing after that. The night itself traumatizes her, as does the knowledge of what was done to her. We're not sure how often she gets the nightmares. We've only been back in her life for less than a week. She's had them for a few of those days. Usually, they go away relatively quickly, but last night was bad. She reacted violently when Niklaus tried to comfort her," Elijah explained.

"I heard a crash, but I didn't want to intervene. The girl barely knows me. I thought it best to let you and Niklaus handle it," Finn said.

"Yes, she managed to knock Niklaus into a wall, but he was able to rise her soon afterwards. He stayed with her most of the night after that," Elijah said.

Finn sighed. This wasn't right. That poor girl had been put through hell, and he had to make it worse. He didn't want to. He wished he could just let her heal and rebuild her life, but he couldn't pretend that the threat Dahlia posed didn't exist. He would only be setting her up to be hurt more. "I need to speak with you all regarding an urgent matter once the others come down."

Elijah frowned slightly. What sort of urgent matter could his brother have to discuss. He'd only been awake for a day, and he'd spent the entire time in the house. He could only guess what his brother would have to tell him. However, before he had the chance to even ask, Niklaus walked into the room. He looked exhausted. "How is Sadie?"

"She's still sleeping. Hopefully, she'll sleep for a while. I tried asking her what she was dreaming about before she finally fell back asleep, but she claimed she didn't remember, just that it frightened her. She's lying. I think she was dreaming about that little bastard forcing himself on her," Klaus snarled.

"Forcing himself on her? Do you mean to tell me she was violated sexually?" Finn asked with fury in his voice. He'd only known the girl a day, but he was already fond of her, and if she was touched in that way, he would make those responsible beg for mercy that he wouldn't grant them.

"She was in a relationship with one her abductors, and he compelled her to do essentially everything. We believe that includes being with him, but she has yet to tell us that," Elijah said.

"I wish she'd talk to me," Klaus said.

"She doesn't know us very well yet, Niklaus. It might be a while before she's willing to share such information. You have to be patient," Elijah said. He knew that was hard. He wished Sadie would talk to them to, so that they could help her, but it was a bit much to ask for at this point. She needed time.

Klaus reluctantly nodded. Patience was far from his strong suit, but he would do whatever his daughter needed.

"Now, Finn says he needs to speak to us about something," Elijah said.

Klaus huffed in annoyance before turning to his oldest brother. He was not in the mood for a chat. He'd spent most of the night up with Sadie, and he was still worried about her. Needless to say, he was not in the best mood. "Can't it bloody wait."

"No, Niklaus, it can't. Frankly, it's waited far too long already. Had I not had a bloody dagger in me, this is a conversation I would've had with you before your child took her first breath," Finn told him.

"This is about what you mentioned yesterday," Klaus realized. Finn had appeared far from happy when he'd introduced Sadie to him. He'd mentioned them needing to talk. Klaus had thought his brother had had a problem with the fact that Sadie existed. He'd been close to sticking that dagger right back in Finn's chest, but then Finn had responded will with Sadie, so he'd let it go. "Get on with it then."

"This is a conversation that should include everyone. The others need to know as well," Finn said.

"I'll gather everyone up," Elijah said.

"Do not wake Sadie," Klaus said in an almost lethal tone. She needed to sleep. If this was something she needed to know, he'd tell her later.

Elijah nodded before going to find everyone else.

Twenty minutes later, everyone had adjourned to the formal dining room, where they'd all sat down to hear what Finn had to say.

"Speak, Finn," Klaus said impatiently. He had no time or patience for pleasantries. He wanted to get whatever this was over with.

Finn nodded. "I'm afraid I've kept something from every one of you, and I fully intended to keep quiet for the rest of eternity. Mother swore me to secrecy, and frankly, I didn't see the point of any of you knowing."

"Mother? This is about Mother?" Rebekah asked.

"Sort of. It's more about our sister, Freya than anything," Finn said.

"What about her? She died of the plague before most of us were born," Klaus said.

Finn shook his head. "She didn't die. That is just what Mother told everyone. Freya was taken by our mother's sister. I can't even say for sure that she's dead." Under most circumstances, it would be a given that both Freya and Dahlia were dead at this point, but his mother had told him how obsessed her sister was with immortality, and that she was powerful enough to figure it out one day.

"Our mother had a sister?" Kol asked surprised.

"How do you know this, brother?" Elijah asked.

"I was there. It was the most frightening moment of my life. The woman was evil. I had never known of an act so horrifying until I found out about Sadie," Finn said.

"Why would your aunt take your sister?" Caroline wondered.

"Power. Dahlia is obsessed with it. Mother made a deal with her. She wanted to have children, but she couldn't conceive on her own. Dahlia agreed to help her, but the price was her firstborn child, and every other firstborn child in the generations after her," Finn explained.

Klaus narrowed his eyes at his older brother. "What?"

"Now you understand why I was so concerned when you told me of Sadie. Dahlia will come for her. The firstborn witches in our family wield a lot of power. Freya was very powerful. Sadie will be even more so because of her vampire and werewolf attributes," Finn said.

"No. This cannot be happening again!" Marcel exclaimed. They had just gotten Sadie back. They were all still reeling from it. Sadie had barely begun to recover. They couldn't go through possibly losing her again.

"If this woman comes anywhere near my daughter, I will destroy her!" Klaus snarled. He'd already made a vow that no one would harm his little girl again. He would not break that promise. If that witch wanted his daughter, she would have to kill him to get to her.

"Hold on. Finn, what makes you think this witch is even alive. It has been centuries. Witches are mortal," Bonnie said.

"My mother told me that Dahlia was obsessed with immortality. If there was a way to achieve it, she found it. I don't know for sure that she's alive, but I think it's a safe bet, and if she is, she will come for Sadie," Finn said before turning to his brother. "Which means it's not going to be simple to kill her. She's extremely powerful. Our mother was afraid of her, and she was a powerful witch herself.

"I'm not letting anyone take my daughter from me again!" Klaus yelled.

"None of us will, Niklaus. Listen, we have an advantage that we didn't the last time. We know what is coming. We know there is a threat. We can plan for it. We won't let anyone harm Sadie again," Elijah said firmly.

"We'll all do whatever it takes," Bonnie said.

"I don't want Sadie being told about this," Klaus said. She'd been through too much already. Her entire life had been hell. He didn't want her to walk around in fear any longer.

"How do you propose to keep it from her? She's endanger. She needs to know in order to protect herself," Finn said.

"I will protect her. She's already barely sleeping at night. I won't put this on her too," Klaus said.

"Klaus is right. She's already been through so much. How much more can she be expected to deal with. Eventually, it will break her," Marcel said.

"Okay, but not telling her will put her in more danger. I know you guys want to believe that you can protect her, but you can't do that without her on board to aid in that protection, and even if you could, you're not going to be able to keep it a secret forever. Besides, I don't think Elena is as fragile as you all think she is," Caroline said. She understood that they wanted to protect Elena from more pain and stress, but it just wasn't possible, and it wasn't fair. She deserved to know the truth.

"Ms. Forbes is correct. I know you want to protect Sadie, Niklaus, but this isn't something you're going to be able to keep from her forever. At the very least, she's going to figure out that something is wrong. She's a smart young woman," Elijah said.

Klaus sighed. He knew that much was true, and he also knew it would be very hard for him to hide the fact that something was wrong. "Fine, but not for a few days at least. No one is to say anything to Sadie until I decide to tell her."

Unbeknownst to Klaus, it was already too late. Elena was outside the door, barely keeping the tears from flowing. She hadn't heard the whole thing, but she'd heard enough. There was yet another person out there that was coming after her, and her father was going to hide it from her. He didn't believe she was strong enough to handle it.

Elena couldn't deny that was pretty devastating to learn that someone else was coming after her when all she wanted to do was rebuild her life, but the fact that her father wanted to keep it from her was almost worse. She was so tired of being lied to.

Not able to stand anymore, Elena turned away from the dining room and headed towards the front door. Thankfully, she was able to get out of the house without anyone noticing her.
