Klaus went to check on Sadie a couple of hours later. She'd been asleep for a long time, and he wanted to make sure she was alright. Also, he would admit that he just needed to see her after the things Finn had told him.
Klaus lightly knocked on his daughter's bedroom before cracking the door. He looked over at the bed and saw it was empty. He opened the door further. "Sadie?"
When Klaus received no answer. He closed the door. He checked the library next. Marcel told him that Sadie spent a lot of time in the library since she moved back home. She wasn't there either though. Next, he checked with her friends. He knocked on Bonnie's door before walking inside to see both her and Caroline on the bed. "Have either of you seen Sadie?"
"No, we thought she was still asleep," Caroline said.
"She's not in her room," Klaus said. He was trying not to get worried. The fact that he couldn't find Sadie didn't necessarily mean anything, especially considering the house and grounds were so big, but he'd only had Sadie back a few days ago. He'd barely let her out of his sight since then, so he was naturally concerned now that he couldn't easily find her. Plus, he had this new threat in his head that Finn had just told them about.
"Klaus, she's probably fine. Maybe she went down to the kitchen for something to eat," Bonnie said. She could see he was starting to get upset. She couldn't exactly blame him for that under the circumstances, but it was a little premature to freak out.
Klaus shook his head. "I just came from there."
"Okay, maybe one of the others have seen her," Bonnie said.
"What's going on?" Marcel asked as he appeared in the doorway. He'd heard what was being discussed from his bedroom. "Is Sadie missing?"
"I can't find her. I'm going to check with Elijah," Klaus said.
"I'll find the others and we'll search the rest of house," Marcel said.
Klaus went to Elijah's study, which was located at the opposite end of the house. He walked into his brother's study without even knocking. He found Elijah at his desk looking annoyed at the interruption. "Elijah, have you seen Sadie?"
Elijah frowned slightly before standing up. "No. Can you not find her?"
Klaus shook his head. "She's not in her room and no one seems to have seen her."
"Alright, Niklaus, I know that after everything that has happened, it's a natural reaction for you to worry, but try to calm down. This is a big house. There's no reason to assume she's not around here somewhere," Elijah said.
"I… It's just that the last time I didn't know where she was…"
"I know, Niklaus. We'll find her. Come on," Elijah said before headed towards him. They both exited the room and began searching the surrounding rooms at vampire speed. They ended up back by Sadie's room, where the other occupants of the house met back at.
"We've searched the house and grounds. She's not here," Marcel said.
"Perhaps she went for a walk," Finn said.
"She wouldn't leave without telling anyone. She knows that everyone here might be overly concerned if she just disappeared with no word," Bonnie said.
"I don't even know how long she's been gone," Klaus said as sheer panic began to set in.
"I can do a locator spell, but I've only been able to narrow it down to a general area. I would only be able to tell if she's still in New Orleans," Bonnie said.
"It will have to do. Do it. I'm going to look for her. If you find anything, call me," Klaus said.
"No, Klaus, I need your blood to do it," Bonnie said. Technically, any of the Originals would do, but Klaus' blood would be the strongest.
"You should be here if she returns anyway. The rest of us will go look for her. We will find her, Niklaus," Elijah promised before heading towards the stairs. The others followed him.

Elena was sitting against a tree in the cemetery. Apparently cemeteries were still a good place for her to think. She hadn't been sure if that was her thing or 'Elena's' thing. She supposed it was hers. She hadn't started doing it until after the Gilberts died.
Elena was seriously angry right now, even more so than when she left the house. She had been mostly hurt then. She was still hurt, but she was also really angry. She had been lied to so much already. She didn't need that same treatment from her own family. She knew they were trying to protect her, but she didn't need them to protect her. She needed honesty. She needed truth. She craved that more than almost anything right now because she'd had so little of it her entire life.
Elena Soon heard footsteps. She looked up in time to see her uncle approach. "How'd you find me?"
"I took a chance. I remember that you liked cemeteries in Mystic Falls. I may have followed you a few times in order to ensure your protection. I hoped that if you left the house on your own, you might come here. I honestly was not sure you did leave on your own because you didn't tell anyone," Elijah said.
"I'm not a child. I don't need permission to go out," Elena said strongly.
Elijah got down on the ground and sat next to his niece. She was clearly very upset. He wasn't sure why, but something had happened to make her leave. He wanted to get to the bottom of it before he took her home. "I didn't say you needed permission, but I know that you know we would worry if you suddenly disappeared without telling anyone. Even your friends were worried because they know you realize that."
"I'm not weak, Uncle Eli. I can take care of myself!" Elena snapped.
"I never said you were weak," Elijah said in confusion. He truly didn't understand where this anger was coming from. Things were fine the last time he spoke to his niece.
"You implied it. You all did," Elena said.
"How?" he asked.
"By agreeing to lie to me. Keeping some sort of threat against me a secret is no better than lying to my face!" Elena yelled.
Elijah sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Now he understood what happened. Sadie must have woken up when Finn was telling them about Dahlia. "Sadie, no one thinks you're weak. Your father just wanted to protect you. He wanted to give you time to deal with everything else that happened before springing this on you too."
"I heard what you all said. Marcel seems to think I'll break, and no one contradicted him," Elena said.
"Sadie, he said that because you've been through much more than any one person should ever have to handle. Anyone would break down at some point. Your mind alone has been through so much. There is only so much that even the strongest person can take. And you are probably the strongest person that any of us have every met. We don't think you're weak. It's the opposite. Your father just didn't want to add to your stress. He wanted to give you a chance to heal a little before adding more to your plate. He wanted to protect you."
"Finding out that there was someone else after me was upsetting, but the fact that you were all going to keep it from me was worse. I don't want to be protected, Uncle Eli. I want to be respected. I want the truth. I don't want to feel like some sort of pawn or experiment that people can treat however they want," Elena said. She knew her family wasn't trying to do that, but it was how it had been for most of her life because of Katherine and Stefan. When her own family made the decision to lie to her, it felt the same.
"We weren't trying to treat you that way. That is not how we see you," Elijah assured her.
"I know, but that's how it felt. You can't lie to me to protect me. That is what I can't handle," Elena said.
"Alright, I understand. It won't happen again. Once your father sees how upset his decision has made you, he will come to the same conclusion. But it goes both ways, Sadie," Elijah said.
"What do you mean?" Elena asked.
"We know you're keeping things from us, regarding your nightmares. If it's because you're not ready to talk about it, that's fine. You only need to say so, but I get the feeling that you're hiding things because you want to protect us. You need to trust us to be able to handle it, just like you want us to trust you," Elijah said.
"I… You guys already blame yourselves for everything. I just don't want to make it worse," Elena said.
"Keeping quiet doesn't make it better," he told her.
Elena nodded. She knew he was right. If she expected honestly, she had to give it. She hid a lot from her family, like everything that happened with Stefan. Part of it was because it was difficult to talk about, but it was also because she wanted to protect the others from the truth. It wasn't fair. "Will you take me home now? I need to talk to my dad."
"Of course, sweetheart," Elijah said before standing up and extending his hand to her.
Elena took his hand and let him help her up. "I'm sorry, Uncle Eli. I never should've let you worry. I was just so angry that I wasn't thinking."
"I'm sorry too. It's going to be okay. Let's go home," Elijah said before putting an arm around her and leading the way out of the cemetery.
