He left to think as he left to do the same. Staring at the stars above he began to wonder if his father would be proud. For a moment he wished his father was there. Sesshomaru snorted. As he watched a star shot across the shy he wondered why. While he would go to lengths to save her, why this? Why not just tell her she died? While he was in deep thought he was very aware of what was around him.

"She is resting," He stated knowing Inuyasha was behind him.

"You have done a lot of cruel things Sesshomaru, but why this?"

Sesshomaru turned, "You are asking a question I cannot answer,"

Inuyasha shows off his fangs, "It's you, you have to have some clue!"

Sesshomaru looked away "There is a piece of the puzzle missing. Simply telling her of her death was not enough."

"What if it was?"

Sesshomaru looked at him again "I have not been to the future Inuyasha I do not know,"

Suddenly he saw his brother's eyes changing and it didnt take long for Sesshomaru to understand what his brother was thinking.

"You're asking the wrong me," He said.

In the blink of the night, Inuyasha vanished and Sesshomaru went back to looking at the stars.

Inuyasha went back to the well and glared at it, almost afraid. Would the magic lock him out? Taking a deep breath he jumped a only let out a breath as the magic twirled around him.

He wasted no time, going straight to her home and sniffing around. It was hardly there, but it was there. His brother had been here.

"Inuyasha?"

He turned to see her mother.

"Is everything ok, is Kagome ok?"

"He has been here,"

She only nodded.

"You know,"

She nodded again,

"Does he care about her?"

She stayed silent,

"Where is he,"

"I dont know,"

Well fine, he would find him. Inuyasha went to the door and threw it open. Sniffing the air he caught the scent and went on his way. It was harder due to the city, but his brother's scent went away from the city and grew strong and stronger until Inuyasha could feel him, even hidden.

He found his brother in the same way he had left him. In the dark of night looking up at the sky.

"I wondered how long it would take you to break through,"

"Why her!" Inuyasha yelled,

Sesshomaru did not look at him, "She died, I saved her,"

"You did not have to do that to save her!"

He was silent,

"Do you love her?"

"Are you asking me or asking him?" Sesshomaru looked back at him.

"What that doesn't, what?"

Sesshomaru looked away. "My past self loves her,"

"You are your past,"

"I am the part that did not happen Inuyasha, at least not yet,"

"Wait, what?"

Sesshomaru walked away and Inuyasha followed, "The wells magic is strong and complicated,"

Inuyasha listened,

"Its origins unknown,"

"Get to the point Sesshomaru!"

He walked into an open patio and went to a drink try and pour himself and his brother a drink.

"Two years ago when she fell down this well, I did not exist here and now I do," He handed his brother a drink. Inuyasha took it though his face was full of confusion.

"What?"

"What indeed, she jumps things change and no one knows or questions why,"

"But you?"

Sesshomaru drank the drink,

"He doesn't love her now,"

"I did, I do," He said though his voice wasn't convincing "I will,"

"You ain't making no sense, why get her pregnant, why not just tell her she died!"

"It wasn't enough, she welcomed death,"

"The you I know would not care,"

"What is the saying, you only know you love her when she is gone,"

"Then why not tell her,"

"Because I do not know the feeling nor the words,"

Inuyasha sat the drink down "Sesshomaru."

"Magic is complex, she is complex, it is all complex. All I know is I do, I will but in the end what is to be is up to her, all roads, all wells, and all magic begins and ends with her. I will protect her, this and he will love her till this no longer exists, changes perhaps one day I will wake and she will be by my side,"

Sesshomaru looks at Inuyasha "Its is like a memory you can see and know but you do not recall it, feel nothing for it,"

Inuyasha was almost sad for the guy.

"Go back,"

"What, what should I do?"

"If you care about her, or I, then do nothing,"

"And the well?"

"Leave it alone the magic will bend to her fate," Sesshomaru looked up at the shoot starts again, "I remember this,"

Inuyasha looked up and watched this star pass and when Sesshomaru went to look at his younger brother again, he was gone.
