Chapter 7: Showdown in Cerulean City

Daydreaming about the memory of the Clefairy and Clefable dancing around the Moon Stone on Mt. Moon, Crash and the gang made their way to Cerulean City.

As three days, filled with fun, adventure and training went by, the heros spotted a sign that showed the way to Cerulean City. At the corner of the sign, Larry had left a little message behind which Misty read aloud.

"Larry Oak was here! Crash Betchum is a loser!"

Crash was more than agitated by the taunt from the grandson of Professor Oak, immediately doubling his traveling speed.

Brock reminisced on his battle against the young Oak, recalling how easily he defeated him single-handedly with one Pokémon.

That only irritated the Pallet Town trainer even more as he swore he would defeat the Cerulean Gym with only Mark since he heard it was a water-type Gym.

All the while, Misty tried her best to stop her friends from going to Cerulean City and said we should head to Vermilion City instead. Though Crash was adamant about going, saying that if she didn't want to go to Cerulean, she didn't have to. Offended, Misty left the group in a fury.

"Why didn't she want to go to Cerulean City?" Crash asked. Brock pulled out a pamphlet on the city and began looking at it.

"Cerulean City isn't known for bug-type Pokémon," Brock murmured. "so that's not it."

"I just hope she comes back after." Crash sighed.

Crash and Brick finally reached the city at noon.

"We made it…", Crash smiled, but it dropped as he looked over his shoulder. "But Misty's really gone…"

Mark gave a sad, affirmative cry.

"She didn't want to come here, and we can't force her to come along", Brock said. "But I'm sure we'll see her again."

"Yeah, because I still owe her that bike. ", Crash scratched his head. "Well, it's not all bad" He perks up. "I'm glad I don't have to hear her nagging me about every little thing."

Brock chuckled softly. "C'mon, Let's go find the Gym."

/-/

Once they reached the Pokémon Center Brock stopped him from leaving. "Ok Crash, I have groceries to get, so you can challenge the gym and meet me back here at the Pokémon Center once I'm done."

Crash smiled. "Sounds like a plan." As the two parted ways, Crash quickly got lost.

As Crash continued to wander aimlessly, he encountered Officer Jenny.

"Wait, Officer Jenny?" Crash said, puzzled. The blue haired officer noticed the boy's confused look and deduced that he had met one of her sisters and addressed the misunderstanding.

After explaining that she wasn't the same Jenny, but related to the one he met back in Viridian. She then hands him a tourist pamphlet of the city, so he could find his way through the city in a few minutes.

The Gym wasn't hard to find due to its large size and being located in the middle of the city. The exterior looked completely different compared to the Pewter City Gym that looked like a mountain. This Gym had a huge Dewgong on the roof that was shaped as a dome in yellow and pink vertical stripes.

"We found it buddy!" Ash smiled at his starter as he ran up to the entrance. As Crash stepped inside he saw three girls performing with water-type Pokémon.

Crash checks the pamphlet and realizes that this must be one of the region's famous water shows performed by the "Sensational Cerulean Sisters" at the gym.

"Maybe different Gyms serve as other facilities while the Gym Leaders aren't challenging Trainers?" Crash mumbles to himself as he watches the performance from afar.

Once the performance had ended, doors had burst open as a stampede of people began pouring out. Crash and his partner Pokémon ran, to avoid getting trampled by the leaving crowd. As he made it to the entrance and out of the way of being trampled, he noticed that many of them held flags with the sisters on them and some had other souvenirs and homemade signs with their favorite idol's name on it.

"Whoa… Those sisters must be really popular", he commented. "I'm willing to bet that one of those girls is the Gym Leader." Crash said with a glint of fire in his eye.

Once the crowd was gone, Crash ran back inside, hoping to grab his second badge. After walking through a corridor for a while, he stumbled upon an aquarium with so many different water-type Pokémon, even ones he had never seen before!

"Wow!" Crash gasped as he practically glued himself to the aquarium display. "There's so many Pokémon here!" A mollusk Pokémon grinned at him. "A Cloyster!" He pointed. A small white pinniped Pokémon swam by with its tongue out. "Seel!" He said as he stared in wonder. Next, a fish Pokémon that Crash was all too familiar with swam by and shot him a somewhat disapproving yet dignified stare. "Goldeen." He said, with less energy than before. "It's actually really cool when it's not flopping on the ground."

Mark chuckled at his trainer's joke, but Crash stared at the water-type, forlorn. Mark looked at his trainer worriedly and began nuzzling against his face. Crash pet his partner Pokémon back and apologized. "Sorry bud," Crash scratched his starter's chin. "I guess I miss Misty more than I thought."

Crash's inner monologue came to an end as a voice called out to him.

"Can we help you with something?"

Crash looked in the direction of the voice and saw the three performers from before. Crash briefly introduced himself and told them the reason he was in the Gym.

"So, a battle is what you're after, right?"

"Yes, that's right!" Crash smiled.

"Well if that's the case, you're outta luck." the sister with blonde hair said.

"Alright!" Crash did a double take. "Wait what?"

"Well, we've been getting our heads handed to us by ten year old kids from Pallet Town." the blonde sister replied.

"And it's been, like, totally demoralizing losing to kids our sisters-" the sister with pink hair was interrupted by a swift smack to the back of the head.

"We don't talk about whatsername!" The blonde chided.

"Sorry…"

Crash gave a depressed sigh as he looked back at his partner. "Misty was right, we should've gone to Vermilion City instead."

The three sisters stared at him in complete bewilderment.

"What did you say?" The blonde asked, her tone bordering on rage and confusion.

"I should have gone to Vermilion City?" He said sheepishly.

"We already heard that. We mean, like, who told you to go there?" the pink haired sister said.

"Misty." Crash said as they got closer.

The sensational sisters stepped back, processing the information. The blonde turned to her sisters.

"Lily," the pink haired sister, stood at attention. "Violet," the blue haired sister, did the same. "Prepare Operation: Waterfall. She's back." Crash gulped as one thought raced through his mind.

What did Misty do to make these three that mad?

The blonde sister, who introduced herself as Daisy, led Crash into an indoor swimming pool. Though the pool had two platforms in the middle. "Play your cards right, and we might give you that badge after all." She coyly smiled.

/-/

As the sisters scrambled about, setting up some bizarre contraptions, Crash and Mark marveled at their coordination, and speed.

"I guess their coordination isn't just for performing those shows." Crash murmured in awe.

"Ok Daisy, like, Operation: Waterfall is done." Lily sighed tiredly. "Now can me and Vi, like, take a break? We're totally pooped out!"

Daisy finished screwing one thing into another thing and looked at her sister's work, nodding approvingly.

"Looks good Lily, so go ahead." Lily and Violet collapsed onto each other. "Take a break. If I know Misty, we have at least five minutes until she gets back here."

Crash finally decides to ask what they were doing this for. Daisy gave a mischievous grin. "Oh you'll see…" Crash, not happy with the answer, turned towards the other sisters and they returned the same grin back. Crash nervously sweat.

And once five minutes passed, The door to the indoor pool opened and Misty made her way through the door as a set of dominoes were knocked down. The dominoes eventually activated a button on a fan that pushed a small boat across the pool.

Once the boat reached the other side of the pool, its bow activated a light that burned a rope holding a bucket of rocks. The bucket landed on the pressure plate, which activated a miniature catapult, which flung a water balloon in Misty's direction.

However, instead of hitting her, it activated a button that activated a trap door that dropped a Pokéball. The Pokéball activated, releasing a Goldeen, as the piscine Pokémon began flailing about.

Misty stared dumbfounded at the flailing water-type Pokémon, as an alarm clock sounded above her. The moment she looked up, she was greeted by water being poured on her. Her eyes twitched.

As a hand tapped her shoulder, she quickly turned around, only to be scared out of her wits by someone wearing a Gyarados mask. Startled, Misty backed away but slipped on the water that was poured on her.

As she fell on her butt, she looked up at who had scared her. The person took off the mask, revealing themselves to be Violet. A roar of laughter was heard behind a curtain in the very back of the pool.

Lily and Daisy stepped out from behind it, dragging along a confused Crash and equally confused Mark.

"Hahaha! You're right, Crash." Daisy laughed. "This was funny."

Misty's head turned in their direction, furious. "What?" She growled out from clenched teeth.

"Oh. This prank? It was, like, totally his idea." She said, as Crash looked at a drenched Misty then back to Lily. Crash, realizing what the sisters were trying to do, tried to explain himself before Daisy hugged him against her "assets", further angering Misty. Mark, meanwhile, knew that Crash wouldn't come out of this unscathed. Literally or figuratively, he didn't know.

Daisy let Crash go and called for her Seel. The seal Pokémon surfaced and stood by its trainer's side. "Seel, show this trainer what he's won!" She said, sounding like a game shop host. Seel stuck out its tongue, revealing a raindrop shaped badge.

Daisy grabbed the badge and petted her Seel for a job well done. She turns to Crash and hands him the item. "For coming up with such an epic prank, we, the Gym Leaders of the Cerulean Gym, gift you with this Cascade badge." Crash, again, tried to explain himself, only for Daisy to force the badge into his hand.

Misty's face was now as red as a Krabby's pincer. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her and she swatted the badge into the water. She wordlessly glared at Crash. Mark fainted from shock and Crash nervously sweated, thinking she'd do more than just scold him. Crash braced himself for, well, anything. Anything except Misty's reply.

She thrusted a Pokéball into the Pallet Town trainer's face and uttered two words; "Battle me. If you want a badge you'll have to earn it by beating me!"

"Why does it matter that I fight you for the badge?" Crash asked, genuinely confused. "I want to battle the Gym Leaders."

"I am the Gym Leader." Misty growled back.

Crash gave a bemused look. "I thought they were the Gym Leaders." He pointed at the sisters.

Misty looked past Crash and to the flower named sisters. "You guys planned this prank, but didn't tell him about who I am?"

Violet shrugged and Lily rolled her eyes and scoffed. "He never asked." Daisy said playfully. Misty's eye began to twitch.

"What? Is it something I'm missing?" Crash scratched his head in wonder. Misty gave a tired sigh. "I'm the fourth sensational sister."

Crash stared at her. "What?"

"Look twerp," Lily interrupted. "There's only three sensational sisters. And you're not sensational."

Misty opened her mouth to speak. "Ok you two, back on track." Daisy interrupted. "Misty, why are you back here anyway?"

"Because he wanted to challenge this gym." She pointed at Crash.

Crash gave an offended gasp. "We were already in a city with a Gym. If You didn't wanna go here, you could have waited outside the city."

Misty grumbled. "Maybe, but accepting a badge without a Gym Battle is against the rules."

"I wasn't gonna accept it!"

"Uh-huh sure."

"If it gets your undies in a twist, why don't you, like, battle him as Cerulean City Gym Leader?" Lily suggested.

Misty looked to her sisters.

"If you have a problem with us just giving him the badge, why don't you see if he deserves it then?" Daisy continued.

"That- might be the smartest thing that's come out of your mouth." Misty acknowledged. She turned to Crash. "Ok Crash, since I'm challenging you as a Gym Leader, don't expect me to be easy like Brock."

Crash looked at the sensational trio, but they seemed to be in cheerleading uniforms, complete with pom-poms. "You got this Crash!" Daisy said. "She totally doesn't, like, have a chance at beating you." Said Lily. Violet meanwhile, vigorously pumped her fists up and down rhythmically. Crash looked at them, feeling betrayed.

Misty held him by his collar, grabbing his attention. Crash gulped. "Battle me…NOW!" Crash wasn't going to say no, so he accepted her challenge.

"Oh goodie!" Daisy rubbed her hands in glee. She turned to her sisters. "Vi, get everything set up! Lily, pop some popcorn. This is gonna be good."

Crash reluctantly took his place at the end of the pool closest to the entrance, while Misty went to the other end, but not letting her eyes off Crash.

As the sensational sisters got the battlefield ready, Lily stood up to be the referee.

"Ok! This battle is between Misty, from Cerulean City and Crash Betchum from Pallet Town. Each trainer is to, like, only use two Pokémon each, and the battle is, like, over when the Pokémon of either side are, like, totally KO'ed."

Misty glared daggers at Crash, gripping her Pokéball, ready to throw it at a moment's notice, while he looked back in complete fear.

/-/

"Staryu, go!"

"Ok Mark, you're up."

As Staryu took a stand on its platform, Mark still clung to his trainer's side.

"Huh? Mark? What's wrong?" Crash asked. The Electric-type whimpered. "I know Misty looks scary but you have a type advantage. So just believe in me and we can win this."

Mark backed away, still refusing to fight. Crash gave a hopeless sigh.

"Hey!" Misty roared. "Send out a Pokémon already, or you lose this round."

"She's right." Lily said in a begrudging tone. " If you don't send out a Pokémon, like yesterday, you'll only have one Pokémon to battle with."

Crash began to rack his brain for an answer. He eventually throws out a Pokéball.

"Jetstream, I'm counting on you!"

The Flying type perches on the platform, and spreads his wings, letting out a shrill squawk.

Lily looked back and forth between the two trainers. "Now begin!"

"Staryu, use a Water Gun!"

Staryu blasts a forceful shot of water from one of the points on its body. Jetstream avoids the move with little effort by flying above it.

"Nice one! Jetstream, use Quick Attack!"

The Pidgeottos body glows with a white energy and dives at the Starfish Pokémon, knocking it to the ground.

"Staryu, get back up and use Water Gun again!"

"Jetstream, dodge it and use Quick Attack again."

Staryu flips back up and prepares to shoot another blast of water, as the Pidgeotto circles back for another attack. As the water-type fires another Water Gun, Jetstream doges it again quickly closing in.

"Now use Harden!" Misty commanded, before the attack could land. Staryu's body stiffened and somewhat glistened from the lights in the building. As Jetstream made contact with his opponent, he slammed hard against the Starfish Pokémon, but it stood tall as if nothing happened.

"Aw crap! Jetstream was too late." Crash snapped his fingers in annoyance.

"Now Staryu, Tackle!"

The water-type spins like a throwing star and knocks the Bird Pokémon back to Crash's side of the field, causing the sensational sisters to wince as the move makes contact.

"Jetstream!" Crash cried out worriedly. "Are you ok?" The Pidgeotto rises back up and does his best to shake off the hurt.

"Wow, she's good." Lily acknowledged. Daisy and Violet nod. "We have to, like, give her props. We may be better looking, but she's, like, just as good as a Trainer and battler."

"Now, Water Gun!"

Staryu blasts another forceful shot of water at the still stunned bird Pokémon, knocking him into water. The bird Pokémon can only flail about in the pool, unable to swim.

"Jetstream! You have to get outta there!"

Crash exclaimed, terrified.

"Staryu, into the water and use Tackle."

Staryu dives into the water and charges at the bird Pokémon. Jetstream attempts to fly out, but is sent flying into the pool walls.

"Staryu, Tackle again!"

Staryu knocks the Bird Pokémon back onto the platform. As the Tackle stops, the Pidgeotto lies on the platform, motionless. Crash is watching the scene, horrified.

"Jetstream…"

As Lily prepares to call the match, the Bird Pokémon slowly gets up, shocking everyone.

"Staryu, use Tackle!"

Staryu charges at the bird Pokémon again, managing to split the water as it flies forward.

Crash racks his brain for an idea, before slamming his fist into his hand.

"Jetstream, dodge it and use Gust on the water!"

Jetstream flies up, narrowly avoiding the Tackle and catches the water-type in the miniature waterspout.

"What the?" Misty gasped. The sisters stare on in amazement, surprised at the turn around

Crash pumped his fist, feeling victorious.

"Now, use Quick Attack!"

As the waterspout subsides, Pidgeotto tackles the water-type at an incredible speed, knocking it into the water below. Jetstream returns to his trainer's side.

As the water settles Staryu emerges from the water, gem side up, motionless.

Lily raises a flag in Crash's direction. "Since Staryu is unable to battle, the winner is Crash Betchum."

Crash let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Good work Jetstream."

Jetstream gave a fatigued but victorious squawk.

Misty retrieved her battered Staryu, and thanked it for its efforts. She then grabs another ball, calling for her Ace Pokémon;

"Go, Starmie!"

The evolved form of her previous Pokémon is sent out and stands by, awaiting commands.

Crash sweat nervously.

Starmie is too powerful for Jetstream to handle alone. And Wormwood doesn't have a good move for this type of Pokémon, and Mark doesn't wanna fight Misty.

"Starmie. Bubblebeam."

Starmie fires a spray of bubbles at the fatigued flying type. This snaps Crash out of his thoughts.

"Jetstream, dodge it with Quick Attack!"

Jetstream narrowly avoids the spray of bubbles and charges at Starmie.

"Starmie, into the water."

The Starfish Pokémon dives into the pool, as the attack misses.

"Now use a Water Gun to launch yourself at Jetstream."

Starmie blasts a forceful shot of water from one of the points on its body, shooting itself out the water and tackles Jetstream out the sky as he crashes on Starmie's platform, unable to battle.

Lily raises a flag in Misty's direction. "Since Pidgeotto is unable to battle, the winner is Misty."

"Darn." Crash sneered, as he retrieved his battered bird. Crash looks to Mark, who gives him a guilty look and a head shake. Crash gulped and did the only thing he could.

"Ekho, you've got this!"

The Bat Pokémon gives a happy screech as he enters the field.

"Now the final round begins, like, now!" Lily said, waving her flags.

"Ekho, use Bite."

The nocturnal Pokémon flies forward with his mouth wide open, ready to clamp his fangs into his target.

"Starmie, Water Gun."

Starmie blasts a forceful shot of water at the Zubat, knocking him back. Ekho is able to recover from the attack and remain airborne.

Crash growled. "Ekho! Can you still fight?" The Bat Pokémon gives an affirmative screech.

"Great! Use Supersonic!"

Ekho lets out a sound wave, aiming to confuse Starmie.

"Dodge it!"

Starmie attempts to jump into the water and avoid the move, but the sound wave is too fast, and it gets hit. Starmie, now disoriented, lays on its back

"Alright, Ekho! Now use Leech Life."

Ekho latches onto Starmie and begins to suck Starmie's blood. Healing the damage he took from Water Gun.

"Starmie, snap out of it!

Starmie flips itself back up, unable to hear its trainer's command.

"Keep using Leech Life."

Ekho began to suck at an increased speed, which caused Starmie great discomfort.

"Starmie, shake him off!"

The Starfish Pokémon hears the order and spins its back section, throwing the bloodsucker off.

"Use Water Gun."

"Ekho, Double Team!"

Starmie blasts a forceful shot of water at the flung off Zubat, but Ekho is able to quickly recover from being thrown and, using his speed, creates afterimages. Starmie hits one of the afterimages, leaving it open to a Leech Life.

"Good job Ekho! Keep it up and we'll win!" Crash commended. Ekho flits about, blushing at the compliment.

"Ok Starmie, use Swift!"

The Starfish Pokémon shoots multiple energy stars, hitting all the afterimages and causing the Bat Pokémon to fall on the platform on Crash's side.

"Ekho! Are you ok?" The Bat Pokémon flies back up and nods to his trainer. "Ok, just make sure to avoid it next time."

The sisters stare at the trainer from Pallet, bewildered, with them all thinking the same thing.

He doesn't know… does he?

"Starmie, use Swift again!"

Starmie, once again, fires multiple stars at the cheery Zubat.

"Double Team!"

Ekho uses his speed to create afterimages, but like before, the stars hit all the illusions and hit their intended target.

"Ekho!" Crash turns to Misty. "How is Swift hitting Ekho? Doesn't Double Team increase evasion?"

"Yeah it does, but Swift can't miss, ever. So keep trying to avoid it, you're just making this easier for me."

Crash growled. "Oh yeah? Ekho! Use Bite!"

Misty smiled. "Starmie, into the pool."

Ekho charges towards the Starfish Pokémon as it dives into the pool. Ekho Is barely able to pull up in time, as his body grazes the water's surface.

Crash realizes what Misty's about to do. "Hurry, Ekho! Fly up, fly up!" He panicked.

"Use a Water Gun!"

A blast of water hits Ekho directly, causing the Flying type to spin out, but recover before he could hit the water. Crash grit his teeth.

I have to figure out how to hit Misty's Starmie. If I don't, Ekho's gonna lose the battle.

"If you won't make a move Crash, I'll just finish this. Starmie, Bubblebeam!"

Starmie fires a spray of bubbles at the fatigued flying type. This causes Crash to snap back to the battle.

"Ekho, watch out!"

The Zubat narrowly avoids the spray of bubbles.

"Ekho, use Supersonic."

Ekho lets out a sound wave from his mouth.

"Starmie, dive!"

Starmie dives deeper into the pool, causing the sound based attack to dissipate.

"Grrr…" Crash growled.

I have to get Starmie out of the water. But how? Wait- I know!

"Ekho, Double Team!"

"You really don't learn, do you? Starmie, Swift!"

Ekho uses his speed to create afterimages, as Starmie surfaces and fires a multitude of stars.

"Ekho, it's now or never! USE SUPERSONIC!"

Ekho lets out a sound wave from his mouth, landing and causing Starmie to be confused.

"Starmie!"

"Alright! Now use Leech Life!"

Ekho dives at the surfaced Starmie and sinks his fangs into it, healing himself and dealing damage.

"Alright! We're gonna win!" Crash pumped his fist.

"Don't get so cocky, or did you forget about Swift?"

"I didn't." Crash confidently smirked.

Once the stars hit all the illusions they soon aimed for their intended target. Who was currently clamped on Starmie.

"Starmie, look out!"

As Misty realized what Crash was doing, it was far too late.

The Starfish Pokémon, still disoriented, didn't acknowledge its trainers' call. The barrage of stars hit both Ekho and Starmie, the impact launching Ekho back onto his own platform.

The two Pokémon lay down seemingly both knocked out. Just before Lily could call the match being a double knock out, one Pokémon showed signs of movement.

And began flying.

Misty looked on in disbelief. Her sisters looked surprised. But Crash had tears in his eyes, from sheer joy.

Misty looks down at her unconscious Starmie and retrieves it. She looks at the Pokéball with a shadow over her eyes.

"What are you waiting for Lily? Call the match." Misty said in a shaky voice. Lily looked at her younger sister.

"What?" the pink haired sister asked.

"I said call the match." Misty said in a more audible tone.

"Oh right!" Lily raises a flag in Crash's direction. "Since Starmie is unable to battle, the winner is Crash Betchum."

Crash jumps onto Ekho's platform and embraces the bloodsucking, showering it with compliments. The Bat Pokémon nuzzles against his trainer's side. Mark also jumps over to congratulate his teammate on a job well done.

Misty looks at Crash and walks away without a word.

/-/

"Well, as promised, and by official Pokémon League rules," Daisy said, holding out a small blue medal shaped like a raindrop. "I give you the Cascade Badge."

Crash looks to his partner Pokémon and nods, as Mark nods back. Mark then jumps up, hi-fiving his trainer with his tail. Crash happily grabs the badge and places it on the inside of his vest.

"And here's a TM." Daisy hands Crash a blue colored disc. "That TM is for Bubblebeam."

"It's a really dope water-type move, so like, teach it to aquatic Pokémon." Lily interjected.

"Thanks." Crash said. He takes a look around, and asks in a worried tone. "Where's Misty?"

"Knowing her, probably in her room." Daisy sighed. She turns to Violet. "Hey Vi, go get her. We need to talk with her."

Vi saluted and ran to the pool exit. A few seconds passed until an agitated Misty walked through the door, glaring daggers at Crash.

"Are you mad that I beat you?" Crash asked, in the most sympathetic tone he could muster.

"NO!" She snapped. Crash flinched. "I'm mad because of that prank you and my sisters pulled."

"But I didn't-"

"Mean to make me upset?" Misty interrupted. "Well you did you-"

"Actually he's right, Misty. He didn't plan it." Daisy interrupted.

"What?" Misty gave her older sister a dumbfounded look. "He didn't?"

"We pushed the blame onto him so that you'd get angry enough to battle him in our place." Daisy continued.

"And you were totally duped~" Lily sing-sang.

She turned to Crash. "Is that true?" Crash sighed in relief and nodded. Misty runs over to Crash and hugs him. "Look, I'm sorry for getting mad at you." She squeezes tighter. "I just felt betrayed that you'd do this to me."

Crash gave a weak smile. "I would have done the same thing, no need to feel so bad."

"So Mist, you wanna keep traveling with your boyfriend?" Lily teased.

"B-boyfriend? Him?" Misty pushed Crash away. "H-h-he's not my boyfriend! I'm n-not even fifteen yet!"

"She didn't object to the idea~" Daisy winked.

Violet smooched the air.

"Ugh, I don't have a crush on him!" Misty denied, her face flushed. "Or me with her." Crash added.

"We never said you did. Only that you're not against the idea of Crashy boy being your boyfriend." Lily corrected.

Misty blushed harder. "S-same thing!"

"Ok Lil, let's lay off. If we keep teasing her, she'll never confess her undying love to her boyfriend from the boonies." Daisy laughed.

"Can't we change the subject?!" Misty asked, hiding her blushing face. "Same." Crash agreed.

"Sure." Daisy said. "You wanna keep traveling with him right?"

"Yes." Misty said concisely.

"She answered that fast." Lily commented. Violet nodded.

"I wanna keep traveling with him so I can get better as a Trainer. And if I go with him, I'm bound to get better."

"Misty…" Crash looked at her eyes filled with determination.

"Besides, he owes me a bike." Misty continued.

"You're not gonna let me live it down, are you?" Crash asked, irritated.

"No. And I'll make sure you keep remembering until you get me a new bike!"

"I said I was sorry."

"Well 'sorry' doesn't buy me a new bike. Let alone fix my old one."

As the two ten year olds continue to argue, Daisy, Lily and Violet smile.

"They grow up so fast…" Daisy said.

"Violet pretended to wipe a tear out her eye.

"Their first argument, glad I got my PoryPhone to record this." Lily chuckled.

With a new badge secured thanks to Ekho the Zubat, Crash will set his sights on Kanto's port city; Vermilion. How will his journey go from here? Find out next chapter. As the journey continues. After they finish arguing...
