Chapter 3: Identity Found

As he opens his eyes he feels the sting of the bright light and pulls the covers over his head in a vain attempt to doze off once more. Unfortunately for Sasuke he knew he wouldn't be able to go back to a peaceful sleep. Getting out of bed, Sasuke rubbed his eyes as he left for the bathroom.

Leaving his room Sasuke noticed Naruto's door was cracked, something he knew never happened due to his brother wanting to have privacy.

Heading into the bathroom, Sasuke couldn't get his mind off Naruto's room and more importantly that girl both his brothers had brought home a few nights ago. Sasuke wanted to know who she was but no one would tell him, saying they would explain everything later.

After doing his business Sasuke couldn't take it anymore as he came to Naruto's door. He wanted answers and he would get them.

Opening the door as quietly as he could, Sasuke looked into the dark room, noting that Naruto wasn't in his bed instead the girl was in it for some reason. Looking around Sasuke found Naruto on his chair in the corner of the room, seemingly sleeping. Entering the room Sasuke moved to the girl as he finally got a good look at her.

Sasuke was a little shocked to see how similar this stranger was to his brother, noting her hair and whisker marks. Looking at her he couldn't help but become curious as to who she was and if she was related to his brother in some way.

Watching her, Sasuke didn't notice Naruto shift in his chair as his eyes opened, knowing his brother had come into his room ever since he opened his door.

Sasuke saw the girl begin to wake up as her violet-blue eyes opened and stared into raven one's. Both looked at each other for what felt like an eternity before Narumi finally screamed as she didn't recognize the boy who was watching her sleep. Sasuke screamed once she did, startled at her reaction. Falling on his butt, Sasuke looked up to Narumi as she stared down at him.

"Why did you do that?" He asked.

"Because you were staring at me while I was sleeping!" Narumi yelled at him.

"Hey, you're the one in my brother's bed. Speaking of which, why are you even in his bed?"

"He let me you dummy!" Narumi said to him with a bit of snark.

Naruto watched the two four year olds bicker to each other as he stretched out some kinks in his back. Sitting up straight, Naruto got the kids' attention. "Can you two be a little more quiet? Some people can hear you from the other end of the village."

Both kids flinched at hearing Naruto's voice.

"Sorry." Both kids said as they looked to the older boy.

"That's better. Now Sasuke please explain why you were watching Narumi sleep." Naruto asked, looking at his younger brother.

"I was just curious who she was. Wait, her name is Narumi?" He asked.

"Yep. Pretty good huh?" Narumi said with pride at her name.

"Nah not really." Sasuke said bluntly.

"What, why?" Narumi asked, surprised that someone didn't seem to like her name.

"Cause you just sound like you're copying off my brother." Sasuke said dryly.

Narumi grew mad at his response as she looked down at him. "I'm not doing that."

"Oh really. Then why do you look like him?" Naruto flinched at hearing both how blunt Sasuke was being and at the question.

"It's just how I look. I'm not copying anyone you dummy. Why are you being so mean?" Narumi asked.

"I'm not a dummy. And you just showed up out of nowhere and are sleeping in his bed. Kind of weird if you ask me." Sasuke said.

"Sasuke, be nice to our guest." Itachi said as he entered the room. Sasuke sulked as he stood up. Naruto looked at Itachi as he sat in his chair.

"They wake you up too?" He asked with a chuckle. Itachi nodded as he looked at the two.

"Seems you're doing better." He said, looking at Narumi.

"Mhm. I feel better than ever." She said.

"That's good. Well I'm hungry. How about everyone else?" Naruto said, getting up form his chair.

Itachi shook his head as he looked at his brother. "You're always hungry."

"I'm hungry too." Narumi said with some enthusiasm.

Naruto chuckled at seeing her be so hyper, almost like the last couple of days never even happened.

Suddenly Naruto heard a knock at his window. Going to the window and opening the blinds, Naruto was greeted by an Anbu who he opened the window for to hear what they had to say.

"Lord Third has gotten the results back and requests for you to come to him immediately."

Nodding, Naruto immediately got a change of clothes and went to the bathroom to get changed. Narumi and Sasuke were a little confused at his behavior but then noticed that Itachi seemed much more serious then he had been before.

Naruto came back into the room with his usual ninja gear on, Itachi already having his on as he almost never seemed to have anything else on anymore.

"Breakfast will have to wait. Narumi, I have some clothes for you to wear in the bathroom already, so put them on." Narumi was a little shocked at how serious Naruto had become, something he realized when looking at her as he gave her a small smile. "Sorry, I was just in ninja mode for a second there." He said as he rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.

Narumi went to the bathroom as the two Anbu waited for her. Sasuke watched his older brothers as he realized just how serious they were acting.

"Why does Lord Third want to see you guys now?" He asked.

"It's a secret Sasuke. Anbu stuff and all that." Naruto said in a nonchalant way.

Sasuke puffed his cheeks in annoyance just as Narumi came into the room with a black and red dress with the Uchiha symbol on the back. Itachi eyed the dress before looking at Naruto.

"It's all we had that could fit her. I'm just happy mom had an outfit in her size. Now let's get going." Naruto said as he picked up Narumi. "We'll be back in a little bit. Tell mom for us ok." He asked as he looked at Sasuke who reluctantly nodded. Once he did so the three vanished in a gust of wind and leaves.

Hiruzen went through some early morning paperwork as he grumbled to himself. As he did so he heard a knock on the door and aloud whoever to enter, Danzo being the one to come in.

"Well hello there my old friend it's been a while hasn't it. Although I must say you look more tired than usual." Hiruzen said as he looked at Danzo, noting the bags over his visible eye.

"I'm fine, just been dealing with the unfortunate reality that is old age. Though I don't know if you should be talking about looking tired. You've gained a few more gray hairs since we last talked." Danzo replied back.

Hiruzen chuckled at his friend's bantering, missing when they always did this. "Yes, well that's what happens when you have to deal with the simple problems of the people. Honestly if sensei had told me this is what a Hokage did on a daily basis I wouldn't have offered to stay behind against the Gold and Silver Brothers all those years ago."

"Hm, you don't say."

"No, I'm just getting tired is all. Just an old man rambling."

"Heh, isn't that the truth."

As both men talked an Anbu appeared in the office with an envelope in their hands. Hiruzen looked at the agent for a moment before he was handed the envelope, Danzo watching the exchange with curiosity.

"Thank you. Go get them immediately." Hiruzen said to the Anbu as they nodded, disappearing in an instant.

Danzo stared at Hiruzen for a moment but before he could say something Hiruzen beat him to it. "I'm going to have a meeting if you don't mind. We can talk later."

Danzo wanted to continue but once he looked at Hiruzen's face and noted how serious he was he decided to drop it for now. He would find out about it soon enough.

Danzo left the room without a word as he closed the door behind him. Walking through the halls Danzo wondered about Hiruzen's meeting and what would happen in it. This thought then brought him to his newest problem. He had lost his weapon and at the moment only knew that two Anbu had found her. He knew it was only a matter of time before he would find out which ones and when he did he would deal with them. He needed her back if he wanted to protect his village and now he was regretting not putting the silencing seal on her tongue. While he knew her body wouldn't be ready to handle it normally he had also been enhancing it with the fox's chakra and was going to put it on her after Orochimaru was done with his experiment. And now he was just waiting for any word of where she was.

As he walked he noticed Naruto and Itachi walking towards the Hokage's office. Normally Danzo wouldn't care about that but this time he noticed someone with them. Looking closely he

realized exactly who it was as his eye widened involuntarily. However this action was just as quickly suppressed as he walked past the three.

Naruto held Narumi's hand as they walked to the Hokage's office until he noticed Danzo walking towards them. Naruto immediately hid Narumi behind him as they came closer to the older man, Itachi getting closer to Naruto to shield Narumi. As Danzo watched their reaction to seeing him he knew that they knew about his relationship with Narumi to some degree and fumed on the inside.

All three stopped as they let Danzo pass, Naruto giving him a look that said he would deal with the old man later. Danzo didn't react as he left the sight of the three. Waiting a moment they started their walk back to the Hokage's office, both boys on edge, ready to defend Narumi if necessary. Narumi however seemed much more quiet than before and even seemed much more scared then usual. Naruto noticed this as he stopped and bent down to her eye level. Narumi looked at him, her violet-blue eyes the same fear in them as when he had first met her. Naruto hugged Narumi as she returned the favor. Both stayed there for a few moments before Naruto picked up Narumi as the three finally came to the door and knocked. Hearing a come in Itachi opened the door and they entered.

Hiruzen smiled when he saw the three enter but when he saw how Narumi looked he knew something was up. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, we're just still waking up is all." Naruto said as he looked at the older man. Hiruzen looked at Naruto before he noticed the look in the young man's eyes and knew Naruto would explain later. Hiruzen decided to drop the subject for now as he brought out an opened envelope. Handing it to Naruto who had let Narumi down so he could grab it, he waited for the young man's reaction. "Sorry I know you wanted to open it but I needed to make sure of what was in it. I hope you will find what you are looking for." He said with a smile.

Naruto took out the papers with Itachi looking from behind his back. Narumi was trying her best to get a look at the papers the others were looking at. Unfortunately Naruto didn't seem to want her to see them.

"What is it?" She asked.

Naruto just stood there, eyes widened at the results of the DNA test. His hands shook as his eyes watered when he looked at the papers.

DNA match

Father: Minato Namikaze

Mother: Kushina Uzumaki

Naruto stared at the words as his eyes began to tear up even more. Narumi kept trying her best to see what would make him be so emotional but just as she was about to see the paper Naruto put it away as it puffed into smoke, a black mark appearing on his wrist. Narumi was shocked to see a seal on the boy's body but her shock quickly turned to confusion as the boy grabbed her in a hug. Narumi was surprised to see the boy hugging her like this but then she heard him sob a bit and she had become very worried.

"Are you ok!" She asked with concern on her face.

The blond boy nodded as he looked at her. "I'm fine. I'm just so happy to be with you." Narumi was even more confused by his response. "What do you mean?" She asked.

"Narumi, do you remember how I said your name is from someone I used to know?" He asked. Narumi nodded, remembering their talk from a few days ago. "Well that person was my baby sister. I lost her the day she was born and have been looking for her for the past 4 and a half years. And I finally found her."

"You did. Where is she." Narumi asked, not knowing who he was referring to.

Naruto chuckled as he looked at his baby sister. "Right in front of me." Narumi took a moment before she realized what he ment. "You don't mean?"

"Yep. She's you. I finally found you." Narumi couldn't comprehend what he had just said. He was her brother. He had been looking for her. Her papa had said she didn't have anyone other than him but Naruto had just proven him wrong. Thinking of that man and what he said and how he was wrong made her head spin.

'HE'S TELLING THE TRUTH KIT.' Kyu's voice rang through her head.

'Are you sure?' She asked.

'YES I'M SURE. HE'S YOUR REAL FAMILY.' Kyu answered. Narumi's eyes began to water as she looked at the boy. She had a real family now and her emotions couldn't be contained. The siblings embraced as they cried in each other's arms.

After a few minutes Naruto finally got a hold of himself as he got up with Narumi still sobbing in his shoulder. Hiruzen allowed the two to have their moment as he knew this was more important to them then what he wanted to ask next.

Finally Narumi calmed down enough for her to be able to speak normally as Hiruzen spoke up. " OK, now Narumi I would like to ask about who had been watching over you for all these years if you can.

Narumi gladly told the three about her "family" as she talked about what her papa had been doing with her since she could remember and described what happened in her home, not being able to give names as she didn't know them. Hiruzen however could put the pieces together as all pointed to one thing. The ROOT organization. That very organization he had disbanded since it failed at its job to catch Orochimaru all those years ago and due to it giving Danzo much more power then he should have had. Hiruzen didn't show it but he was beyond pissed at what Danzo had done.

Naruto picked up on his leaders much more stiff posture as he decided to ask something that was on his mind. "Sir. What will happen to her now?"

Hiruzen stopped his train of thought as he looked to his 12 year old Jonin. "Well, as you are of Chunin or higher statis and are her soul family member you have custody of her by village law. So that is for you to decide." Naruto smiled as he looked down to Narumi who wanted to hear his answer.

"Thank you." He said as he hugged his sister again and then asked to leave, Hiruzen allowing it so they could be with one another. The three walked out as Hiruzen smiled at how happy they looked. Once the door closed he looked to the wall next to the door as Naruto stood there waiting to speak.

"What did you find out while with her?" Hiruzen asked.

"I think Danzo had her."

"I do as well. Does anyone else know?"

"I told Itachi. Other than him only me and you. And now Danzo knows too."

"So you passed him on your way in?"

"Yes. And he didn't look happy. Couldn't blame him. I didn't hide my anger either."

"I see. You know he will come for her in any way he can right?"

"That's what I'm hoping for."

Hiruzen was a little confused at the blond's answer. Looking at him he waited for him to elaborate.

"If he tries anything we could use it against him. The only ones who knew that she was a Jinchuriki were me and you. So if he tries to use that against us we could send it right back to him. No one knows who she is as of yet and if anything I can have Mom say she adopted her

when me and Itachi found her. Or even have me do it. She doesn't have any records of her in the village and so if need be we can make some."

"You've been thinking about this for a while. But even so a DNA test could prove who she is."

"And she should be dead. That's all the village knows and if he tries to obtain her we can ask why he cares so much for a girl he shouldn't even know. And I won't lie to you. If he tries anything I won't hold back. I just got her back and I won't have her be taken away. I hope you understand."

Hiruzen nodded. He understood completely and honestly wanted to punish Danzo right now for what he did. The man had taken his successor's child and tried to turn her into a weapon. And then he lied to his face for years and expected himself to get away with it Scott free. Well karma can be a cruel thing when it wants to be and Hiruzen wouldn't let it go to waste. "We can talk about this at another time. For now I think you should go to be with her."

"I already am." Said the blond as he puffed into smoke. Hiruzen chuckled as he looked down at his desk.

"Danzo, you've gone too far this time."

Naruto entered his room with Narumi as he closed the door. Narumi was still in shock at what she had found out as Naruto had her sit on the bed while he sat beside her. Naruto waited for her to talk first as he knew she had many questions.

"So I'm your sister. Who were our parents?" She asked.

Naruto opened the drawer on his night stand as he brought out a picture. It showed Naruto with Minato and Kushina, said woman having an extended stomach from her second child. Naruto handed the picture to Narumi who took it and looked at the adults, noting their similarities with her. A tear ran down her face as she looked to her brother.

"Their names were Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki." He said while pointing to the picture to show which ones were which. "And they were the bravest and most loving people I even met. They always gave me so much love when I was with them and once they found out they were going to have you they loved you before they even met you. They wanted you to be the happiest kid in the world and would have done anything for you. Even give their lives for you." Hurt could be seen on his face as he said that.

Narumi looked at the picture once he finished before she looked back to him. "What happens now?" She asked.

"I'm going to be watching you from now on. As long as you're ok with that." Narumi immediately nodded as she hugged him.

"Please. I don't want to be alone."

Naruto returned her hug as they held onto each other. "I won't ever let you be alone ever again. I promise."

Danzo sat in his chair as he thought to himself. He couldn't let the brat have the girl and knew he had to do something about it. But what? Thankfully for him, his guest would give him the answer.

"Fufufu. I see you found where she was."

"Yes. Unfortunately our plans have been ruined. They know now and at this point we won't be able to get rid of that clan and use their eyes."

"Oh now come on, there may still be a way."

"How so?"

"You want them gone and I want their eyes. Sure I would rather have a live one but we can still use this to our advantage. If we get rid of them while they are still figuring out what to do then we can get what we need."

"Are you suggesting a sneak attack on them? Even if it worked they would suspect me and I would be killed if I stayed in the village. My plan to have them try to initiate a coup de ta is still in its infant stages and without the girl I won't have the ability to finish it."

"Then it seems your plans will have to be altered. I can help with that. If we do it soon I can have you come with me to Sound. There we can create an army that could help us get the village back. It's a win win. I get to kill that old monkey and you get to take control of the village."

Danzo thought about the idea. He knew the snake was only saying what he wanted to hear so he could betray him later. Well, he could play that game too. "Alright then. When should we do it then?"

"Soon. Very soon." Orochimaru gave an evil smile as they continued to talk to the old man about their attack on the Uchiha. Soon he would gain his precious eyes and become far more powerful. Soon he would be able to learn everything this world had to offer and he would get rid of that village along with his enemies, including this old war hawk. Soon he would win. Very soon.

Sasuke awoke with a jump as his nightmare faded away from his memories. Sitting up in his bed he looked at the dark room before he jumped out and ran to Naruto's room. His brother would always be there to help him when he had nightmares and hopefully that would remain so.

Opening the door to his older brother's room he looked only to see the bed was occupied. He watched as Narumi was snuggled into Naruto's arms, both sound asleep. Sasuke didn't know what he was seeing. His brother was with that girl. Why did she have to be with him? Why did she matter so much to him if they only just met? Wasn't he Naruto's brother? He knew him his whole life and yet this girl had come and taken him away.

Sasuke closed the door as he walked back to his room. He didn't know this girl and he didn't like her. She took someone precious to him and he wouldn't forget it. He hated her. He wanted her to go away. He wanted his brother back. Sasuke flopped on his bed as he cried into his pillow. He couldn't sleep. He couldn't think of anything but that girl. "Why her? Why not me?' He asked himself as he layed in bed. He didn't know. Nor did he think he would find out.

Author's Note: Guess who's back. Back again. Yep it's me. So glad to be back and sorry for the longer wait. Been having some life troubles but I'm back.

Anyway I want to make something clear since I didn't beforehand. You see I honestly forgot for a moment that Shisui is only a few years older than Itachi in cannon and so I'm just going to tell you that this Shisui is around as old as Itachi was when we meet him during the Search for Tsunade arc so around 19 if I'm not mistaken.

OK review time. First hirsya1216, I was honestly kind of confused when you talked about liking the tone of the story so I reread it and yeah. Honestly didn't realize that but we'll see if the tone will change as this continues.

OK so I hope you're ready for what comes next as it will get interesting from here. How will Sasuke deal with Narumi? What will happen with Danzo and Orochimaru? We'll just have to find out won't we.
