"We did it!" Sonic cheers.

"Again." Wave deadpans.

Sonic and Wave once again defeated Eggman. Also Amy and Knuckles. Them too, but they didn't deal the final blows or help Sonic escape so once again, they get left out. Mainly, not like too many people care as much as they once did, it's their jobs now.

"We need a break" Wave says.

"That was a break. Wait until he comes back with another clone or metal version of yourself or something else entirely. This was a classic adventure. Easy and short and sweet. Also now we actually get to take a break." Sonic says stretching his body all around.

"Yeah for like 2 days before he comes back." Wave deadpans.

"You knocked him down pretty hard, I would say 3 days instead of 2."

"Har Har, honestly I'm tired of it! Why doesn't he stop? Or at least change it up he just builds robots and more robots! It's driving me insane! Honestly!"

"Be careful what you wish for."

The two land down safely on a nice patch of land. Sonic immediately gets off and stretches. Wave just sighs.

"You were on the plane for two minutes"

"Can't stay still for too long, can you?" Sonic says with a smug smile. Then sees a red blob in the distance and runs towards it.

"Hey Knuckles!" Sonic says giving the Echidna a hug.

"Hi" Knuckles say, a bit embarrassed.

The two walk down to Wave. Who's fiddling with the plane.

"When will you stop working on that thing?" Knuckles asks.

"Never." Wave jokes.

Sonic laughs while Knuckles nods in understanding.

"Where's Amy?" Wave asks.

"Does it matter that much?" Sonic asks with his arm around Knuckles

"Just curious, so, what now?"

"…I have no idea."

"Guess I'll go back to the Master Emerald now." Knuckles says.

Knuckles starts to leave with Sonic following him and Wave continuing to work on the plane. Good thing for the heroes, they wouldn't have to wait long for a new mission to do.

"Jet, Why do we need this key?" Tails asks the Hawk.

"It's a family heirloom from us, the Babylonians! We need this to find out our ancestors' secrets and get some treasure on the way. With that we might as well be unstoppable!" Jet says rubbing his hands and smiling a wide smile with the last part.

"Fine, so the tracker says… it's here." The air balloon stops. The three get off and go inside the place where the key is held.

"Alright, here it is… and where is it?" Jet says flabbergasted

"Oh ho ho ho! Hello there!" A new voice says. The three get into a fighting stance.

"No need to worry, I'm here to help!" The voice holder reveals himself. It's Dr. Robotnick also known as Eggman.

"What do you want?" Jet says somehow scared by the doctor's presence

"I think the more important question is what do you want?" Robotnick says stressing the 'you' in the sentence.

"Here we go again…" Wave says flying in the air with Sonic on her plane's wings.

"New Adventure! WOOHOO!" Sonic says pumping himself up

"Sonic, get off the wing."

"Fine…" Sonic says getting into the seat behind Wave

"Thank you."

"Yeah. You know I just get antsy sometimes!"

"Well I'd rather have you antsy than dead or injured."

"Thanks?"

"You're Welcome and hold on."

"What?"

Wave proceeds to speed up, almost making Sonic fly out of his seat.

"Here we are. Where is Knuckles?"

"He'll be here soon."

"Hey Sonic!"

"See? I told you they would be here! Knuckles!"

"Alright, let's get inside for the emerald."

The trio goes inside the structure. They all start looking for the emerald. But they run into others. The people who happen to have the emerald on hand.

"Hey, what are you three doing with that Emerald?"

Two birds and a fox disperse. Sonic goes after the emerald holder. While Knuckles goes after another bird and Wave goes after the fox. Wave follows the fox until they get to a clearing. The fox surprisingly jumps and they fly up with a… surfboard? Wave can't make any sense of it. Then she goes back. Running into Knuckles on the way, who had a similar experience. They go the way Sonic went. Seeing a path in the way. The other two head back to the plain and follow the trail. Until they see Sonic trying to get up a hill.

"Sonic!" Knuckles yells to the hedgehog

"Hey guys, unfortunate news. That guy got away from me. Apparently they can fly… With surfboards?"

"Yeah, that's what I saw." Wave says crossing her arms.

"Me too, who even are those guys?"

"Good job you three. Trust me with this, you will rise!"

Jet and Storm jump for joy while Tails stands still. Eggman smiles.

"Next part, a tournament!"

"Wait, what?" Tails says.

"Don't worry, you three! You are the best racers around. We get the Sonic team to compete, get an emerald for the entrance few as the prize and then we get all the emeralds!" Robotnick then turns around and rubs his hands together.

"Alright, how do you reckon we even get them to notice it?" Tails questions.

"Leave it to me! You just try to find more chaos emeralds!" The doctor states, giving them an invitation to exit.

So the three leave the room. Jet seems happy while Tails is confused.

"Let's go! We'll get everything!" Jet celebrates and get back onto their Mission Control, their airship.

"He seems happy." Storm comments

"Yeah I'm happy for him. I'm just suspicious." Tails says, putting her hand to her chin to think.

"I don't see anything wrong with him?" Storm says dumbfounded

"Okay, see you tomorrow, Storm." The fox sighs and goes to her room.

"Okay! Good night!" The bird says before going to his own room

Tails goes to her bed after she does her normal nightly routine and goes to bed and tries to get to sleep. Something about that Robotnick character doesn't strike her as right. But that doesn't matter Jet is dead set on the plan. Once he gets going he won't stop. All she can do now is hope for the best, whatever that is.
