Bear in mind that this is a fanfic and things maybe exaggerated and the characters backstories will be off but I tried. After Prototype is killed and everyone else is brought back to life the group Smiling Critters try their best to move on from their trauma and most of them manage to handle it well but CatNap is still trying to make up for this while dealing with trauma of his own

2. Vanilla And Lavender

4 Months Later...

Everyone lives in a massive house in the middle of the woods now as they wouldn't adjust well to a street and they would scare pedestrians, CatNap woke up on the bottom bunk (he shared a bunk bed with Hoppy which led to many nights full of arguments) it was another sleepless night for the poor cat as he had had another flashback that kept him up at night, he slowly got out of bed and went to the bathroom to brush his teeth, just as he was done there was red smoke surrounding the bathroom

"No...NO NO"said CatNap covering his ears and backing up against a wall, he sat down in the foetal position crying

He then looked up to see his monstrous version getting in his face laughing at him maniacally

"Please leave me alone"said CatNap crying even louder

"KILL THEM, KILL THEM, KILL THEM"

"NO LEAVE ME ALONE PLEASE"yelled CatNap

"HEHEHAHAHA DO IT, DO IT, DO IIIIIIT"

"AAAAH"yelled CatNap trying to punch the monster but he ended up punching DogDay who was trying to console him thinking it was the monster tormenting him

"OW"said DogDay tearing up a bit while holding his cheek

"Oh, D...DOGDAY I DIDN'T MEAN-"said CatNap who was cut off because DogDay ran out of the room

CatNap got up weeping while apologising constantly

1 hour later...

The Smiling Critters were sat at the table chatting nonstop until Player walked in with a bunch of pancakes

"Bon Appetit"said Player

"WOAH THIS LOOKS AMAZING"said Hoppy excitedly

"I can't wait"said Picky

After Player gave everyone a pancake followed by a pat on the head they all began to dig in pretty quickly except for CatNap and DogDay who exchanged awkward glances here and there he was also covering the bruise on his cheek, Player noticed this so he decided to point this out

"What's wrong? You guys barely touched your food"said Player

The whole table was silent now with most of them looking at CatNap judgementally

"Uh... I'm not hungry, thanks anyways"said CatNap getting out of his seat and heading towards the backyard

This made DogDay frown ever so slightly

"Did I miss something?"said Player turning to DogDay hoping for an answer

"What did he do DogDay?"said Bobby

"Nothing"said DogDay knowing that they'd give the cat a hard time

"You can tell us"said Bubba

"NOTHING happened"said DogDay slamming his hand on the table revealing the massive bruise

"Did he do that? That's not cool, I'm gonna beat on that punk"said Kicken

"Hey what did I say, you living under this roof then you respect one another, tell me what happened"said Player

"I heard crying from the bathroom so decided to see who it was and I saw CatNap crying his eyes out, I tried comforting him but he wouldn't respond to me so I figured I'd stay with him until he felt better and then he punched me outta nowhere"said DogDay

Kicken clenched his fists while shaking violently in pure rage

"Why do you think he did that?"said Player

"That's what I want to find out"said DogDay shrugging his shoulders

"Yeah so do I"said Kicken

"Kicken, no"said Player sternly

Kicken slammed his fist into the table and got up, heading to his room

"What's wrong with him?"said Player

"CatNap... they all hate him"DogDay whispered

"Oh..."said Player

The rest of the meal was silent and fairly awkward until Kissy and Huggy walked in

"HEY HEY HEY"said Huggy enthusiastically

"Whats up Huggs, where were you and the lady"said Player

"Berry picking thought they'd be a nice addition to the pancakes"said Kissy

"But looks like you already beat us to it though"said Huggy analysing the pancakes

"Oh, I can make a new batch"said Player

"Yes please... Hey you little troublemakers"said Kissy

"HEY KISSY AND HUGGY"said The Smiling critters

"Wait a minute...1...2... Where's Kicken and CatNap"said Huggy

"They left a bit early"said Bobby

"Oh, they not hungry?"said Kissy

"Something like that"said Hoppy

Once everyone was done eating Player took DogDay aside

"Alright, keep it on your face and it should stop hurting after a while"said Player placing an ice pack on his cheek

"WOOO cold"said DogDay holding onto it

Player giggled at this

"Alright go have fun"said Player petting his head

"Okay, thank you"said DogDay sweetly heading to the back yard where Hoppy and Bobby were playing catch

"Hi DogDay, you wanna play with us?"said Bobby

"Yeah sure, I just need to find CatNap"said DogDay

"UGH just forget about that sad creature and spend time with your friends"said Hoppy

"But he is my friend and please don't call him that"said DogDay

"Whatever, go have fun with the traitor"said Hoppy continuing to play with Bobby

DogDay left them to it

"Sigh did you have to be that mean?"said Bobby throwing the ball back

"Yes, that was nothing compared to what he did to us"said Hoppy

"I know but CatNap doesn't sound proud of what he did"said Bobby

"PFFFT... yeah okay"said Hoppy sarcastically

"CATNA-"DogDay

Sobs could be heard from behind a tree, DogDay swore he saw a long purple tail sticking out

"CatNap..."said DogDay walking behind the tree and seeing the distraught cat

"Moon?"said DogDay getting to his level and placing his free hand on his cheek so CatNap could look at him in the eye

After seeing his best friends heartbreaking face he immediately dropped his ice pack and pulled him into a hug

"Shhhh it's okay, it's okay"said DogDay nuzzling into his friend's shoulder

"Why do you still care?"CatNap sobbed

"Because friends are forever and you're my best friend"said DogDay

"After everything I did-"said CatNap

"I don't care, I'm just glad that this nightmares over, that my friends are back, that I have you back... I really missed this"said DogDay

This made CatNap tear up even more

"You were so innocent... so innocent"said CatNap

"So were you, I just wasn't the friend you needed me to be, if I would have cared a bit more maybe we could've avoided all this... we both messed up but we're here now aren't we?"said DogDay petting the feline

"Im sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry"repeated CatNap

"It's okay Moon... it's okay"said DogDay while Catnaps words were still repeating like a broken record

"Do you wanna play catch or do you wanna stay here?"said DogDay

"Please... stay"said CatNap looking at him eagerly

"Okay, okay"said DogDay snuggling into his practically brothers chest and dozing off

CatNap felt the sleepless nights finally catch up to him and fell asleep while purring, this was the nicest feeling the poor cat felt in months so he soaked up every last moment of it
