The next morning, on Saturday, Hanna is brushing her teeth at the bathroom sink, wearing her robe, her hair wet after her shower when Caleb joins her. He stands behind her, moves her hair to the side, and places a sweet kiss on her neck.
Caleb "Morning, beautiful."
Hanna smiles in response, her mouth full of toothpaste.
Caleb opens the shower and takes off his boxers before getting in.
Hanna takes a little sneak peek at his butt as he does so and then proceeds to rinse her mouth with water.
Caleb "So, what are we doing tonight?" He asks from the shower.
Hanna "I don't know... do you have something in mind?" She asks and dries her mouth with a towel.
Caleb "I was thinking we could go to Philly for dinner."
Hanna "To Philly? Are you sure?"
Caleb "Yeah... we could find a new place for dinner... Rosewood is getting kind of old."
Hanna "Okay, sounds good... What are you doing up so early on a Saturday, though?" She asks, intrigued, since unlike her, Caleb and Toby don't work on weekends.
Caleb "I have things to do... I'm getting a new reel for my fishing rod, and one of the sprinklers in the backyard broke, so I'll have to replace it. I'm going to the hardware store."
Hanna "Sounds very boring."
Caleb chuckles. "Yeah, I know. That's why I'm taking care of it while you're busy, so we can do something else together later."
Hanna smiles tenderly before leaving the bathroom.

It's Saturday afternoon, and Hanna is in her upstairs workshop at the store. Her seamstresses don't work on Saturdays, so it's just her up there. Sydney is downstairs in the store, as Chloe doesn't work on Saturdays either. They also don't open on Sundays.
Hanna had planned to take care of some admin work, which includes ordering supplies like new fabrics, zippers, fasteners, sequins, beads, crystals, and other decorative elements, to restock. But as soon as she crossed the store's entrance that morning, she noticed it appeared a bit empty. The dresses hanging on the racks had plenty of space in between, highlighting the challenges they've been facing over the past few weeks, trying to balance dress production with high demand in sales. They've struggled to maintain a decent inventory of dresses. But today, in particular, the store seems even emptier. So, she decided to dedicate her time to making progress and finishing the dresses that Anna and Lisa, her seamstresses, were working on last Friday. This way, they can start on the new designs she's assigned them as soon as they show up for work on Monday.
Mona "Hey, Han!" She greets Hanna, making her jump from her seat startled.
Hanna "Gosh, Mona. I didn't hear you coming, you scared the shit out of me."
Mona smiles. "It's nice to see you too." She says and grabs one of the dresses Hanna has already finished, taking a closer look at it. "God, Hanna. This is a piece of art."
Hanna smiles back. "Yeah, it came out pretty well." she says as she goes back to cutting a piece of fabric.
Mona "So, what time are you finishing here?"
Hanna sighs. "I've no idea."
Mona "Wanna go grab something for dinner at the Apple Rose?"
Hanna "I can't. I made plans with Caleb for dinner."
Mona "Oh, come on! You live with the guy. You see him every day. I don't get to see you very often... You're always busy."
Hanna "You can join Caleb and me for dinner." She suggests, still focused on her work.
Mona "Oh, no. I don't want to be a bother."
Hanna "You won't. Don't worry."
Mona "Okay, then… I'm in." She takes a seat in an office chair. "I ran into Sean the other day…"
Hanna "Oh, he is back in Rosewood?"
Mona "Yeah, for good. He told me he got an apartment... he moved in with his girlfriend."
Hanna "I didn't even know he had a girlfriend." She says nonchalantly as she threads her sewing machine.
Mona "Doesn't it make you a little jealous?"
Hanna laughs. "Why should I be jealous of him? We broke up like a million years ago, we were just kids when we dated."
Mona "That's why. He was your high school sweetheart."
Hanna "Yeah, well. I couldn't care less. I was never really in love with him... in fact, after falling for Caleb, I realized I had never really loved anyone until him."
Mona "Not even Jordan?"
Hanna "Not even Jordan. Thank god I didn't marry him."
Mona "Well, I'm glad you found your true love in Caleb. It feels amazing, right? I'm still waiting for my 'Caleb,' you know…"
Hanna "You'll find your 'Caleb' too, Mona. I'm sure of it." She reassures her and shoots her a kind smile. "I felt the same way when I hung out with the girls, Ezra, and Toby. They were all so in love, and I was just there as the third wheel so many times. But I finally met my 'Caleb' in the craziest way."
Mona "Yeah, I know. I just hope I don't end up wasting my time again, like with Noel."
Hanna "He's always been a fuckboy, Mona. And you knew it all along."
Mona grins. "Yes, but… gosh, he was so good in bed, Han… I might have wasted my time with him, but at least I had a good time."
Hanna laughs. "You can have both, Mona. You can have great sex and love at the same time."
Mona smiles, amused. "Oh, so Caleb is pretty good in the sack too…"
Hanna "I'm not sharing any details with you, Mona." She stops Mona before she can even get started because she knows her very well and doesn't want to end up sharing too much, as half of Rosewood could end up knowing intimate details about her and Caleb. "Want to check out my new designs? My sketchbook is right here." She suggests this to keep Mona busy while she works on her own tasks.
Mona grabs the sketchbook and starts to take a look at it. "I don't like that girl you have working for you at the store."
Hanna "Sydney?"
Mona "Yeah."
Hanna "Why?"
Mona "I don't know… it's just a feeling. I don't like her."
Hanna "So? What do you think about those designs?" She changes the subject, brushing off Mona's opinion about Sydney, not caring too much.
The rest of her afternoon flies away while working and chatting with Mona.

Caleb parks his car in Rosewood's downtown, after having driven around looking for an empty space for a while, and opens the rear door to let Chocolate out as well.
Caleb "Let's go get your mom, buddy." He puts him on his leash, and they start walking the few blocks to Hanna's store.
A few minutes later, they arrive, and Caleb ties Chocolate's leash outside.
Caleb "I'll be right back."
He goes to open the door but can't. He sees the "We are closed" sign on it.
Sydney spots him from inside and comes to let him in.
Sydney "Hey, Caleb!" She smiles at him. "Come in."
Caleb "Hi, Sydney." He greets her back while stepping inside.
Sydney "I'm sorry, I just locked the door because I was getting ready to go home." She explains as she checks him out from head to toe.
But Caleb doesn't even notice.
Caleb "Is Hanna still here?"
Sydney "Oh, yes! She's busy with her friend… Mona."
Caleb "Mona is here?"
Sydney chuckles. "Yes, that's what I just said." She reaches out and runs her hand down Caleb's arm. "You've been hitting the gym, huh? You're looking even more handsome lately." She points out just like that.
Caleb takes a step back to avoid her touch, slightly flustered. "Yeah." He only says. "I'll just go upstairs. See you."
Sydney "See you around, Caleb." She replies with a grin on her face as she watches him head up the stairs in the back.
/
Hanna's face lights up upon seeing Caleb show up at her workshop. He doesn't come by too often, and she wasn't expecting to see him just walking in.
Hanna "Hey, baby." She smiles at him.
Caleb "Hey!"
He approaches her, and Hanna stands up from her chair to embrace him.
Caleb "Hi, Mona." He greets her as well while hugging Hanna back.
Mona "I'll give you two some privacy... You guys don't look like a couple that lives together." She chuckles and grabs her purse. "I'll be waiting downstairs, Han." She says as she heads to the stairs.
Hanna "I kind of… changed our plans a little, baby…" She slips in and kisses his lips.
Caleb pulls away from her mouth and stares at her.
Hanna "We are still going out for dinner… I just kind of…" She smiles a little to soften what she's going to say next. "I invited Mona to come with us."
Caleb "No, you didn't."
Hanna "Yes, I did." She gives him an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, I had to... she showed up here, and she wanted to make plans with me, and I didn't want to cancel on you. So, I had no other choice."
Caleb sighs. "This was our night out together…"
Hanna starts placing kisses on his jawline. "I'll make it up to you, I promise."
Caleb "Okay, but we aren't going to Philly. There's no way I'm going through an entire hour listening to her pitchy voice speaking from the backseat all the way there and then another hour on our way back."
Hanna chuckles. "Fair enough." She pecks his lips. "I'll just make a reservation for three at the Apple Rose."
Caleb "This is gonna cost you dearly."
Hanna starts kissing his neck. "I'm willing to pay the price." She bites him softly.
Caleb "Yeah, well... I don't mean anything sexual, you would enjoy it just as much as me."
Hanna laughs. "What do you mean then?"
Caleb "You'll be in charge of dinner for an entire week, and you're also picking up Chocolate's poops from the backyard tomorrow. They're piling up."
Hanna laughs again, harder this time. "Oh, you are really making me pay for this."
Caleb grins.
Hanna "I think I'll just cancel on you next time." She says, playfully.
They share a tender kiss before joining Mona downstairs. Then they go to their house to drop Chocolate off and pass the time until dinner.
/
They drop Mona off at her place after dinner. Caleb will never admit it to Hanna, but dinner with Mona wasn't as bad as he was expecting. She seems to be doing better now. Of course, it would have been ten times better if he were alone with Hanna, as they had planned, but it was okay.
Caleb "Wanna stop by for some ice cream?" He asks Hanna as he drives away from Mona's. "We could watch a movie or something."
Hanna smiles. "Yeah, sounds perfect."
They get the ice cream and head home.
Hanna grabs a blanket and makes herself comfortable on the couch.
Caleb enters the room, carrying the tub of ice cream and two spoons. He sits down next to Hanna, and she covers him with her blanket as well.
Caleb "What do you feel like watching?" He asks her while grabbing the remote.
Hanna "You pick the movie... I'll probably end up falling asleep halfway through it anyway." She yawns.
Caleb "Wanna just skip the movie and go to sleep?"
Hanna "Nope." She takes the ice cream tub from him and opens it. "I want ice cream."
Caleb smiles and starts looking for a movie.
His phone vibrates on the coffee table, and he picks it up to take a look. It's an IG request to follow from Sydney. Hanna signed him up on IG some months ago and posted a picture of them together. That's the only post on his account. He has only a few followers, including their friends, some people from his past in Allentown, Ravenswood, and other towns, and some from London. His activity on the social media platform is limited to occasional stories about Chocolate. Caleb decides not to respond to Sydney's IG request. He doesn't feel like having her as a follower, let alone following her back. However, he doesn't want to be rude either, considering she's Hanna's employee, and he'll likely keep seeing her around. He places his phone face-down on the table and grabs the remote again.
Hanna notices this, and it strikes her as a bit unusual. But she doesn't have any reason to be suspicious, especially because it's Caleb. She trusts him completely. So she just ignores it and keeps enjoying her ice cream.
And Hanna was right, they don't even get halfway through the movie, but not because she fell asleep. She actually decides to use the last of her energy with Caleb.
She places the empty tub with the spoons inside on the coffee table and moves to sit on Caleb's lap, straddling him.
Caleb "Don't like the movie?" He smiles at her.
Hanna "No, the movie is actually good. I just like you better."
She smiles back and cups his face to start a passionate kiss, one of those deep and intense kisses they no longer get to share as often as they did at the beginning of their relationship due to their busy new lives as entrepreneurs.
Caleb places his hands on her butt and pushes her harder against him. Hanna starts unbuttoning his shirt blindly, never breaking their kiss. Once she is done, she slowly runs her hand down his chest to his abs, taking her time to really feel his body under her touch.
Hanna pulls away from his mouth to give him a compliment. "You know I like you just the way you are, but I really appreciate what the gym is doing for you."
Hanna's comment makes him recall what Sydney said to him that very afternoon, so he gets distracted, and Hanna notices it. However, she's clueless about what is on his mind, so she assumes he didn't like her compliment that much. "I'm sorry, I like you either way." She caresses his cheek.
Caleb refocuses and smiles at her. "I'm glad you appreciate it." He reassures her, takes her hand, and places it back on his abs before going back to kissing her.
Hanna smiles against his mouth and starts brushing her nails against his skin. A few seconds later, she lowers her hand to start undoing his belt.
Chocolate jumps on the couch and lies down next to them, interrupting them.
Hanna chuckles.
Caleb sighs.
Hanna "Let's take this to the bedroom." She stands up.
Caleb throws the blanket on the couch and follows her upstairs.
/
The rest of their weekend goes smoothly. They spend their Sunday taking care of the housework they don't have much time for during the week. Later, they have dinner at Ashley's and return home early to get a good night's sleep before the start of another week.
Caleb has a quiet Monday. He dedicates all his hours at the office to training Emily on her first day, and then Toby joins him for a run after work. Hanna's Monday is as busy as usual, but her day goes by without any inconveniences at work. The only highlight from her Monday is the fact that it's the first day in years that she doesn't take a birth control pill. Though she knows it won't change anything right away, it still feels special, like the first step.
However, her Tuesday at work is a different story.
Hanna is sitting at her desk, on the phone with one of her suppliers, when Chloe shows up and starts making signs to get her attention.
Hanna "I'll have to call you back, Oscar. I need to take care of something... yes, it would be perfect if you could send my order by Thursday... okay, just send the receipt to my accountant, please... okay, thanks... you too." She finally ends her call. "Where's the fire, Chloe?"
Chloe "I'm sorry, Han… I kind of screwed up with something…"
Hanna "What happened?" She asks, looking concerned.
Chloe "I kind of... sold a dress here at the store, and... I forgot to take it out from the website catalog. So, we kind of sold the same dress to someone else in Boston, and we have nothing to ship to them."
Hanna "God, Chloe!" She stands up from her chair. "The first thing I told you when you started working here was always to remember to remove the dresses you sold at the store from the website immediately. I emphasized it a million times, it's always the first thing you have to do as soon as you sell a dress."
Chloe's eyes fill up with tears. "I'm sorry, Han. It slipped my mind. I must have gotten distracted or something. I always-"
Hanna cuts her off. "I'm sure you got distracted with your phone… you, teens." She sighs and realizes she probably sounded just like her own mother when she was a teenager herself.
Chloe "I'm sorry, Han. It was an accident." She apologizes again. "Can't you just make another one of it? I'll call the client to let them know the shipment might take a couple of days longer."
Hanna "No, Chloe. I can't just make another dress from the same design. We're selling exclusive designs, and our prices are higher precisely for that reason. It would be a scam if I just made the same dress again. If that came out, it'd harm my reputation."
Chloe "Are you firing me?" She wipes a tear off her face. "Because I love working here with you, and I-"
Hanna "I'm not firing you, Chloe." She sighs. "Just get me that client's phone number, and I'll call them myself to explain the situation. Maybe I can offer them a discount on any of the other dresses and a free shipment or something."
Chloe nods. "Thanks, Han… I'll be right back with the number."
/
Hanna's Wednesday doesn't get any better. She arrives at work and warmly greets everyone. Lisa, one of her seamstresses, approaches her.
Lisa "Han, Anna just called... she hurt her wrist last night and won't be able to come to work for some time."
Hanna throws her purse on her desk and runs her hands through her hair, looking very worried. "Please tell me this is a joke." She freaks out. "Please, Lisa…"
Lisa "I'm sorry, Han. She said they would run some tests to see if she broke a bone or if it's just a sprain, and depending on that, she'll let you know how long it could take her to come back to work."
Hanna "I wanna cry, Lisa." She pulls the woman into a hug, taking her by surprise completely.
Lisa pats Hanna's back awkwardly, not knowing what to say.
Hanna sighs and lets go of her. "I guess it will be just you and me making dresses today, Lis." She goes to Anna's work station and starts examining her own notes on the design Anna was working on until the day before. "I'll have to find a replacement for her as soon as possible."
/
Later at noon, Caleb shows up in Hanna's store.
Sydney approaches him as soon as she sees him come through the door. "Hey, you!" She greets him with a grin on her face.
She's alone in the store since Chloe doesn't start her shift until after school.
Caleb "Hey!" He greets her back, but his tone is rather cold as he walks toward the stairs in the back of the store.
Sydney "Didn't respond to my IG request." She suddenly says.
Caleb turns to look at her. "Yeah, well, social media isn't really my thing. I don't use it too much." He offers as an excuse.
Sydney "Oh, I get it. You're one of those mysterious types, huh?" She smirks, teasingly.
Caleb "No, I'm just not into it." He simply says. "I'm here to pick up Hanna for lunch, so I better get going." He says while finally heading upstairs.
He finds Hanna sitting at her desk, and she is on the phone, so he only shoots her a smile.
Hanna smiles back.
Caleb "Hi, Lisa." He greets the other woman in there.
Lisa "Hi, Caleb! Good to see you."
Hanna "Okay, perfect, Rita. I'll see you tomorrow then... thanks, you too." She ends her call and stands up from her chair. "What do I owe the honor of your presence?" She asks while approaching him. "It's the second time you've shown up here these days." She smiles and places her hand on one of his cheeks to plant a tender kiss on the other. "I could totally get used to it."
Caleb smiles and places his hands on her waist. "I just came to get you for lunch... Toby and Emily are waiting for us in that little sandwiches place right around the corner."
Hanna "Oh, babe… you should have just texted me. I can't go have lunch with you."
Caleb "I thought I could be more persuasive if I just came here to get you myself."
Hanna "Well, it is more tempting having you here. I would really like to leave with you... but Anna hurt her wrist and couldn't come to work, so you can imagine how much extra work I have today."
Caleb "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, Han… is she okay?"
Hanna "Yeah, I called her earlier. She's fine, they were running some tests to see how bad it is." She starts to caress his face softly. "I just found a temporary replacement for her... Rita, one of the women I almost hired a few months ago. But she's not coming until tomorrow."
Caleb nods. "Wanna me to get you a sandwich?"
Hanna "No, it's okay. Thanks." She smiles at him. "I'll just get a salad later."
Caleb "Okay." He lets go of her. "See you at home then."
Hanna "Wait." She says and takes his hand. "You're not walking away from me without giving me a proper kiss first."
Caleb grins and grabs her face in his hands to kiss her lips. It's not a big passionate kiss, since Lisa is still there working a few feet from them, but it's a very sweet one.
Hanna "Thanks, I can go on with my shitty day now." She smiles.
Caleb smiles back. "Just let me know if you need another one of those. I'll be happy to come back." He says while heading downstairs.
Sydney "So, you didn't get lucky?" She asks him at seeing that he comes back alone.
Caleb "Hanna is pretty busy today." He only says.
Sydney "Yeah… she's been like crazy lately. She made Chloe cry yesterday."
Caleb looks at her, confused.
Sydney "Chloe made a little mistake and Hanna flipped out. She almost fired her."
Caleb "Well, I'm sure she must have had a reason. Running a business can be stressful, but Hanna is not mean, and she appreciates Chloe."
Sydney nods, finding it a little annoying that he would be so quick to defend Hanna. "So, you're going out for lunch on your own? It's almost my lunchtime break, so I-"
Caleb "No, I'll just go back to my office. I have work to do." He cuts her off with a lie before she can even suggest joining him for lunch. "See you around." He greets her before leaving.
/
Next day.
Hanna arrives at her store and goes upstairs after greeting Sydney.
She finds Rita already there, having a casual conversation with Lisa.
Hanna "Good morning!" She greets them. "I see that you two already met." She says as she places her things on her desk. "So, are you ready to get started?" She asks Rita warmly.
Rita "Yeah! I'm so excited!"
Hanna smiles at her. "Good!" She starts going through her designs. "I'll give you a design to get started." She selects one of her simpler designs and hands the sketch to Rita, with her notes and instructions attached. "Make sure you follow the notes... and ask me or Lisa if you have any doubts."
Rita "Great!" She takes the papers and goes to sit at Anna's workstation.
Hanna spends the morning making dresses along with Rita and Lisa, even though it's a task she had stopped doing some time ago. Her focus on new designs and the added responsibilities of running the business kept her from the hands-on work. But she has no other option than to lend her seamstresses a hand now, as they need to keep up with dress production despite Anna's absence.
In the afternoon, she heads to Philly since she orders most of her supplies online or over the phone. However, some special high-quality fabrics are more expensive and require in-person selection. This also helps her gain inspiration for new designs.
Shopping for new fabrics is a task she really enjoys, so she takes longer than expected. By the time she returns to the store, all of her employees have already left. She finishes unloading the fabrics from her car and is about to leave for home as well, but she can't help taking a look at Rita's work before leaving. She approaches her workstation and grabs the half-made dress from it. It's nothing like she had imagined. In fact, Rita has failed to follow some of her notes, and it seems like she has added some details to the dress that weren't in the original sketch she gave her in the morning. Frustration takes over her, and she fights back tears.
She starts examining the dress trying to find a way to save it. She starts by removing a couple of tacky bows that Rita has sewn onto the straps of the dress. They leave a mark on them, so she decides to unstitch the straps as well and replace them. She ends up spending a couple of hours redoing some parts of it, occasionally shedding tears in the process.
She receives a text from Caleb: "Are you planning on coming home anytime soon? Dinner is getting cold."
Hanna: "No. Just have dinner without me. I'll be home late."
Caleb: "What happened?"
Hanna doesn't even text him back. She's feeling too frustrated to do so. She puts her phone down and goes back to work.
Working until she finishes the dress helps her vent her frustration and keeps her from having a meltdown. The good thing is that it was a simple design to begin with, so she's done by midnight. It would have taken all night if it were any other of her designs.
She finally leaves for home. Completely exhausted and feeling down.
/
Chocolate greets her as soon as she enters her house. She takes the time to give the dog a long hug, finding comfort in him after her tough day.
Then she goes upstairs, removes her makeup, brushes her teeth, changes into a nightie, and finally slides into bed, making sure not to wake Caleb up.
But he was waiting for her, and he spoons her as soon as she lies down on her side.
Caleb "What happened, Han?" He asks softly.
Hanna sighs. "Nothing... Anna's replacement is not going to work out. I'll have to let her go tomorrow."
Caleb "You'll figure it out. You can find someone else." He tightens his grip around her waist, holding her close, and places a tender kiss on her cheek before resting his head back on the pillow.
Hanna "Uh huh." She only responds, knowing that it won't be that easy.
Caleb "Did you eat something? I left you a tupper in the fridge."
Hanna "I'm not hungry."
Caleb "Are you okay?"
Hanna "Yes, I'm okay. I just want to sleep, Caleb." She says, annoyed.
Caleb "Okay, goodnight."
Hanna "Night."
Caleb unwraps his arm from around her and turns to the other side.
/
Friday.
Hanna's alarm goes off, and she feels queasy at the thought of facing another day of work. She wonders what challenges the day has in store for her. It's been surely a crappy week.
She turns off her alarm and finally gets up.
/
She's brushing her teeth at the sink after her shower when Caleb appears in there.
Caleb "Morning."
Hanna "Morning."
He turns on the shower in silence since he's not sure if Hanna's mood has improved since last night and doesn't want to take the risk to find out.
Hanna "I'll go to the store this weekend. We're running out of toothpaste and toilet paper. Let me know if you need anything for yourself, besides shaving cream."
Caleb "Okay, I'll let you know." He responds while getting into the shower.
Hanna "What time are you and Toby leaving tomorrow?"
Caleb "Very early... around seven, I think. We want to make the most of the day."
Hanna "Okay." She only says before leaving the bathroom.
/
Hanna arrives at her store a little earlier than usual and finds Sydney opening the place.
Hanna "Hey, Sydney." She greets her warmly despite her low mood.
Sydney "Hey, Hanna… you are early." She comments coldly while opening the door.
Hanna "Yeah, I have too much work to do."
They go inside, and Hanna heads straight upstairs.
Luckily for her, Rita shows up shortly after, so she takes the opportunity to talk to her in private before Lisa arrives.
Rita "Good morning, Hanna." She greets her while approaching the workstation where she worked the day before.
Hanna "Morning, Rita."
Rita "Where's the dress I was working on yesterday?" She asks after taking a look around.
Hanna "I need to have a word with you, Rita."
Rita only stares at her.
Hanna "I finished that dress myself last night… you had added some details that weren't on the original design."
Rita "Oh, yes. I got a little inspired myself and –"
Hanna cuts her off. "I appreciate your enthusiasm, Rita. But I asked you specifically to follow my instructions. I am the designer here, and those dresses have my name on them. They are my designs. You can't just change them."
Rita "I'm sorry, Hanna. Just give me another chance. I thought you would love the-"
Hanna interrupts her once more. "This just isn't going to work, Rita. I'm sorry. I'll pay you for your day of work yesterday and also for today, but I'll have to let you go."
Rita grabs her purse. "I think you should be more patient with your new employees instead of just firing them after a little misunderstanding, Hanna." She says and leaves, clearly annoyed.
Hanna sighs and goes to sit at her desk, what an awesome way to start her day. She spends the rest of her day sewing along with Lisa, fully focused on making progress with the dresses.
Lisa leaves in the afternoon after finishing her working hours, even though Hanna asked her if she would be able to make some extra hours. Lisa simply told her she had plans with her family. Hanna knows Lisa has children, so she only nodded understandingly.
It's the evening, almost time to close the store when Sydney shows up upstairs.
Sydney "Where are the dresses ready for sale, Hanna?"
Hanna "Those three, Syd." She says and points to a rack on the side.
Sydney "Only three?"
Hanna "I'll get this one finished by tomorrow." She says while applying some crystals on the dress she is working on. "What's the problem, Sydney?" She asks at noticing that she is still standing there.
Sydney "Come see by yourself."
Hanna follows her downstairs, and her mouth drops to the floor at seeing how empty the racks of the store are. There are only about five dresses left.
Hanna "What happened, Sydney?"
Sydney "We had a lot of sales today… apparently a couple sent out their wedding invitations yesterday, and some of their guests came straight here today to get their dresses."
Hanna "Yeah, well, there are a lot of weddings here in Rosewood… it doesn't make sense. This had never happened before…"
Chloe comes out from the bathroom in the back and joins them.
Chloe "One of the girls that came today told me the groom is some guy named Sean… apparently, he is very popular here, and it's going to be a huge wedding… I guess that's why they all rushed to get the best dresses in town."
Hanna "Sean Ackard."
Chloe "Do you know the guy?"
Hanna "He was my boyfriend in high school… we were elected homecoming queen and king… Chloe, don't you go to Rosewood High School? How can you not know about us?"
Chloe "Because it was like a million years ago, maybe?"
Hanna "Hey!" She smacks Chloe on the arm. "I might not have fired you for what you did the other day, but I'll surely fire you if you call me old again."
Chloe laughs.
Hanna "Sean and I looked really good together, like the perfect couple… We weren't, but we looked like it. You should look up those pictures."
Hanna takes a look around, and her playful mood vanishes when she comes back to the reality that her store is almost stockless, and there's nothing she can do to solve it soon.
Hanna "Oh my god, guys…" She starts to panic. "What am I gonna do?"
Sydney hangs the three dresses she brought from upstairs, but they don't make a difference.
Hanna "I can't open the store like this tomorrow… It looks… poor, empty, abandoned."
Chloe "You can just tell people that you are working on a new line, or something…" She suggests.
Hanna sighs. "Syd, you haven't taken pictures of the new dresses for the website yet, have you?"
They have stopped taking professional pictures of the dresses at a photography studio for the website, as they did before. Now, Sydney and Chloe put the new dresses on a mannequin and take pictures of them in front of a white wall with a couple of ring lights that Hanna has bought. This way, they save a lot of time and can publish the dresses for sale as soon as they are ready.
Sydney "No, you just saw me taking them from the rack upstairs."
Hanna "Okay, we won't be selling any more dresses online until we restock the store, and we won't be opening tomorrow. Chloe, please remove the rest of the dresses for sale from the website."
Chloe "So, you want me to leave it with no dresses at all?" She double-checks Hanna's unusual instruction.
Hanna "Yes."
Sydney "What are you going to do?" She asks, worried.
Hanna "We aren't opening the store tomorrow. I'll go to New York. I have a friend who might be able to help me with this." She heads for the stairs. "And don't worry, Sydney. I won't discount your day. Just come back to work on Monday." She only tells her, since Chloe doesn't work on Saturdays anyway. "Go home, you guys. I'll just stay a little longer. See you."
Sydney only rolls her eyes and sighs.
Chloe "Okay, bye Han! Have a nice weekend!"
Hanna "You too, Chloe." She yells from upstairs.
Hanna has no other choice but to stay until she finishes the dress she was working on, since she will be going on an unexpected trip to New York the following day.

Hanna gets home around 9 p.m., with a terrible headache. She doesn't see Caleb but doesn't look for him either. She simply heads upstairs and then to their bedroom, where she only turns on a bedside lamp to keep it dimly lit. She takes off her shoes and lies down on her side on the bed, her back to the door. She closes her eyes, trying to relax and let go of her stress.
Caleb "Hey…" He shows up in there a couple of minutes later.
Hanna "Hey."
He goes to sit on the bed. "I texted you." He says and places his hand on her back.
Hanna "My phone died."
Caleb "Oh, okay." He starts to rub her back. "I made plans for us with the guys. We're going to that craft beer bar with Ezra, Aria, Toby, and Spencer. I know you probably didn't even have dinner yet, you can grab something there."
Hanna "I'm not going anywhere, Caleb."
Caleb "Come on, it's Friday. I already told the guys we were coming."
Hanna "Well, you shouldn't make plans for me without asking."
Caleb "I did ask you… I texted you, you just never replied."
Hanna "I'm tired and my head hurts… you go."
Caleb lies down on his back. "Okay, I'll just let Toby know we aren't going."
Hanna "Go, Caleb. You don't have to stay here because of me. Just make your own plans, it's fine. We don't have to do everything together."
Caleb "I know, I just wanted to spend tonight with you because we won't get to spend the weekend together."
Hanna "Yeah, because you made plans with Toby."
Caleb "You just told me to make my own plans, and now you are throwing it in my face that I'll be out for the weekend with Toby? Besides, I thought you were okay with us going fishing. Why do you even care anyway? You'll still be working most of the weekend."
Hanna "I am okay with it, Caleb. I was just saying."
Caleb "Yeah, well… maybe you are in a better mood when we come back." He stands up from the bed. "You barely spoke to me this week, I don't know why I was expecting something different tonight."
Hanna sighs and sit up to look at him. "Gosh, Caleb! I just had some stressful days at work, okay? Forgive me for needing some space right now." She says with sarcasm. "I just want to have some rest. I'm not in the mood to go to a stupid bar."
Caleb "You could have just said so." He says and leaves.
/
Caleb arrives at the bar and finds all of the guys sitting at a table, even Emily and Alison, who initially said they wouldn't go.
Caleb "Hey, guys!" He greets them and takes a seat. "You two finally came." He tells Emily and Alison.
Alison "Yeah, Pam came to our rescue and stayed with the girls." She explains.
Spencer "Where's Han?"
Caleb "She stayed home. She was tired."
Aria "Oh, I really wanted her to be here tonight..." She says, disappointed.
Ezra "Wanna wait for another occasion?" He asks her in a low voice.
Aria smiles at him. "No, it's fine. She already knows anyway." She smiles at him.
Ezra "You told her?"
Emily "Told her what?"
Aria "She found out herself." She tells Ezra and then looks at the rest of their friends. "I'm pregnant, guys… That's why I'm having this alcohol-free beer." She announces.
Everyone congratulates the happy couple. They are especially happy for them because they know how much they suffered last year after the miscarriage.
Spencer "So, how did Hanna find out about it?"
Aria chuckles. "She noticed my baby bump last week at your place."
Spencer "Oh! And she kept your secret?"
Aria "Seems like she did... or you all are very good actors."
Ezra "I'm sure she told Caleb… you knew, didn't you?" He asks Caleb directly.
Caleb "No… she's not telling me much these days…"
Emily "What do you mean?" She asks, intrigued.
Caleb "Nothing, she's just been working too much." He dismisses it and stands up. "I'll go order a beer… does anyone want something else?"
Toby "I could use another beer…" He points to his half-empty glass.
Caleb "What type?"
Toby "Any… whatever you are having."
Caleb nods and heads to the bar.
What are the chances. Sydney is there with a friend, sitting at the bar. He pretends like he doesn't see her, but she spots him and waves at him from her seat a few feet away. Caleb only nods in response as he orders his beers. But she stands up and approaches to say hi.
Sydney "Hey, Caleb!"
Caleb "Hey!"
Sydney "What's up?"
Caleb "Not much, just out for a drink with some friends. How about you?" He replies politely.
Sydney "I'm here with a friend too."
Bartender hands him his two beers.
Sydney "Were are you sitting, I'll go say hi to Hanna."
Caleb "She's not here. She was tired, so she stayed at home."
Sydney "Oh, right… we got almost sold out today at the store… Hanna's ex-boyfriend is getting married and half of his guests kind of sacked us."
Caleb "Who? Sean?"
Sydney "Yeah, Sean… she told Chloe and me they were elected homecoming king and queen back in high school… she said they were perfect together."
Caleb "Yeah, well… I better get going." He says, not minding Sydney's comment since he suspects her hidden intentions. "My friend is waiting for his beer."
Sydney "Oh, sure… I'm sorry I kept you… you are such good company." She says playfully. "See you around."
Caleb only nods and leaves.
Caleb "Here's your beer, buddy." He places it on the table before him and then takes a seat.
Alison "You better stop flirting with random girls or I'll have to call Hanna." She tells Caleb playfully.
Caleb "Oh, that? It was Sydney, from Hanna's store. She just came to say hi." He explains and sips his beer.
Alison smiles at him. "I was just messing with you."
Emily "Leave him alone, Ali…"
Aria "That was Sydney there? I didn't even recognize her."
Alison "Yeah, it's Sydney."
Aria "So, how was your first week working with these two?" She asks Emily.
Emily "Just great! They are great! You have to see them in action. Caleb rocks with the clients, and Toby is always so busy, coming here and there, keeping all the workers in line. I hope I can measure up."
Caleb "You can, Em. I'm glad you joined us." He smiles at her. "Actually, let's make a toast to you for putting up with us for an entire week." He raises his glass and everyone follows him.
Emily "Thank you, guys. Really."
Toby "Thank you, Em." He says and takes a sip from his beer.
They keep chatting for more than an hour. Caleb stands up to go to the restroom. On his way out, he encounters Sydney in the hallway. He decides to ignore her and attempts to pass by her side, but she blocks his path, trapping him against the wall. Sydney places her arms on either side of him.
Sydney "Hey again, handsome." She tells him, and Caleb notices that she is quite drunk.
Caleb sighs. He isn't in the mood to deal with Sydney's shit. "Please, Sydney. Just leave me alone already." He says, trying to move one of her arms away to free himself. But she wraps that arm around his neck.
Sydney leans in, taking her mouth very close to his. "Come on… you know you want me..." She says, lowering her other hand and placing it on his bulge.
Just then, Emily emerges from the ladies' room.
Caleb "Enough, Sydney." He moves her hand away. "Get off of me." He pushes her away. "I'm not interested in you. Don't you have any respect for Hanna? She's your boss, by the way."
Sydney rolls her eyes. "She's such a bitch."
Caleb "Maybe you should consider quitting your job then, you know? Hanna worked very hard to get where she is, and she doesn't need-"
Sydney "You are boring me, Caleb. You are hot, but you are boring as hell." She says and finally stumbles away.
Emily "What the fuck is wrong with her?"
Caleb sighs. "Everything?"
Emily "Are you okay?"
Caleb "Yeah…"
Emily "What just happened?"
Caleb "I don't know, she's always been particularly kind to me, but she kind of started hitting on me at Hanna's store some days ago… she also sent me a follow request on IG, but I never thought she would actually do something like this… I mean, she works for Hanna. But she just..."
Emily "Grabbed your dick? Yeah, I had a good view of that."
Caleb chuckles. "I was just going to say that she came on to me, but yeah, you just put it better."
Emily "You need to talk to Hanna. She can't have Sydney working for her."
Caleb "Yeah, you're right. I wasn't going to tell her, because Sydney's been doing well at her job, and Hanna relies on her, she's delegated many tasks to her. But one thing is having her hit on me, and another thing is what just happened. She crossed a line."
Emily nods and wraps her arm around his shoulder. "Let's go back to our table."
Caleb "Can we keep this between us until I talk to Hanna?" He asks as they head back to their table.
Emily "Sure, no problem."
Caleb only stays for a little while longer, and then he leaves. He was actually having a good time with the guys, they even lifted his spirits after the argument he had with Hanna before going to the bar. But Sydney just ruined his fun. Besides, he has to get up early the following day to go on his fishing trip with Toby.
/
Caleb has taken off his clothes in the bathroom not to wake Hanna up, so he is only in his underwear when he gets in the bed.
He places his arm on Hanna's waist and finally rests his head on the pillow, ready to go to sleep. But Hanna turns to face him.
Hanna "I'm sorry about earlier." She says softly, half asleep, and hugs him.
Caleb wraps both his arms around her waist, hugging her back. "I'm sorry too."
Hanna "I love you." She whispers.
Caleb "I love you too." He whispers back and kisses her lips softly.
Hanna smiles. "Goodnight, baby."
Caleb "Night, beautiful."
They stay in their embrace until they fall asleep.
