The Testing Of Future Knights

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest chapter of The Fallen! Now before we get started I've got something of an announcement to make. As you're all aware by now Armory Of The Forgotten Hero is done for the current season and will resume at some point in the future. So in the meantime it's place is being filled by a brand new Demon Slayer story commissioned by Mokashi known as 'Winds, Waves, And Chains'! This story will follow a family who takes the place of the Kamados who will wield the power of Wind Breathing, Water Breathing, and a new chain-style blood demon art. If that sounds interesting to all of you, come check out the first chapter when it premieres next week or early the week after!

Daytime: Castletown Kikka

Despite its name, Castletown Kikka was far too large to simply be called a town, which is why most referred to it as a city. Especially considering the enormous outer wall that encircled it. Even more amazing, to Asta and Yuno, was that the defensive wall was only the first of a number the city possessed. Each section of the city going closer and closer to the center was separated and protected by a giant defensive wall. 'All the stories we heard about how big this place is don't do it justice,' Asta thought while craning his neck to look at the top of the wall as they approached the entrance.

"Those walls aren't the only defenses in place," Megicula observed something rising above said structures. "There's a dome-style barrier covering this entire town."

"I don't see anything," the ashen-haired boy squinted his eyes.

"The barrier is transparent," the winged woman explained, "or to be more precise, it's invisible to the naked eye. Only those with a certain amount of skill in detecting magic can see it. Though I believe it's possible one can be initiated to see it, as well."

"Good thing we didn't plan on flying in," Asta remarked mentally as he and Yuno approached the gate. Four guards were present, wearing the robes of the kingdom's basic enforcers. Two of them noticed the boy's approach and split off from their companions. Each guard began questioning them separately.

They were pretty basic questions: who were they, where were they from, what was their business in Kikka? Naturally they didn't have any ill intentions and it was known that the magic knight's examination would be happening soon, so the guards were expecting a large influx of people from outside Kikka. But Asta did notice the guard questioning him seemed to be deeply contemplating something. As soon as their questioning was finished, the two stepped back and conferred with their fellow guards.

"Shouldn't they be letting us in now," Yuno asked while watching the guards move to call a supervisor of sorts.

"I think it's probably me," Asta whispered back, "how rare is it to find someone that radiates no mana? They may think I'm trying to suppress it for some nefarious reason."

"That would raise a couple eyebrows," the wind user admitted. Thankfully, when the guards finally finished their discussion, the duo were allowed to enter the town. Though Megicula quickly informed Asta that the guards seemed to be keeping an eye on him. The anti-magic user decided it was best to just act casual and not let on that he knew about their extra scrutiny of him.

A task which became monumentally easier as they entered the main part of town and looked in awe at the sight of it. Kikka was a very well-developed town with paved roads and many large stone houses, some of which reached above five stories high. But they were dwarfed by the large, elliptical coliseum where the Magic Knight Entrance Exam would be held. Even that fantastic sight, however, was put to the shame by the town's main attraction: The Castle housing the royal families.

It was a gigantic masterpiece overlooking the entire city with multiple spires pointing into the air. It was divided into multiple sections, each one belonging to one of the families such as the Vermillions, the Silva, the Vaude, and the current rulers, the Kira family. Beneath the castle was a building serving as the headquarters for the houses of parliament. Asta recalled the courts were run by a group of royals and nobles with their current leader being a man named Damnatio Kira. Judgements were based on the opinions of those same royals and nobles which, while typically educated, were subject to the occasional biases that often formed from living in the upper class looking down on everyone else.

That was something both Asta and Yuno hoped to change by climbing the ladder to success as magic knights. But for now, they put such thoughts out of their minds and enjoyed the many wonders of the town, beginning with the marketplace where a mass number of stalls had been set up on either side of the street. The first one that caught their eye was a stall selling fruits and vegetables they'd never seen before, and even some they did know that should've been out of season for harvesting! Certainly they used magic to help with farming back in Hage but no one who lived there currently had the ability to grow fruit and vegetables out of season.

The man was kind enough to let them try a sample after levitating a fruit and peeling it with a floating knife. Asta found himself intrigued by this little display before wondering if the man would lose money by giving out free samples and having less fruit to sell. 'He must have enough that it doesn't make a huge difference to give out a few or there was already some set aside,' he finally figured before moving on. Across from the fruit vendor was a meat seller who was using his fire magic to cook the meat before selling it to customers.

Next to said stall owner was a display window belonging to a store that sold various goods. This included weapons, brooms, wands, charms, and numerous other items. The duo thought about buying something from the store until they looked at the prices and noted some items were within their price range, but many weren't. They then had to politely decline a woman who was selling grilled snakes due to the fact that she was vague about where she got them and not wanting to potentially upset their stomachs before the exam.

Speaking of said exam, Asta and Yuno discovered they still had close to three hours before time to register for it. Deciding this was plenty of time to explore more of the city, the duo split up and agreed to meet at the front of the coliseum shortly before time for the exam. Yuno wanted to go see one of the highest places in the capital while Asta desired to see the library. Naturally it wasn't just for his benefit but also because Megicula hadn't been inside a real, well-stocked library in a long time.

Of course, there was the matter of finding the place first. Fortunately, he ran into a woman with red hair walking along with her siblings, Rebecca Scarlet, they called her. The two engaged in a quick conversation about the whereabouts of the library and he was quickly set on the right path. What they found was a large building with multiple columns and a sign denoting it as not only a library but a cultural institution. "According to this, the institution collects and stores countless materials that people can access for information," Megicula read a special plaque, "it's even funded by the state, so admission should be free!"

Even without their emotional link Asta could tell that she was excited. He couldn't blame her, he was eager to learn more about the kingdom himself. However, as he approached the entrance, a guard stopped him. "No entry without paying the fee," the guard informed him.

"Fee," Asta and Megicula tilted their heads in confusion, "it's a library, isn't it?"

"That does not mean admission is free," an older man wearing spectacles, jewelry, and a cap one might find artists wearing drew near, "as director of this establishment it's my job to ensure this institution is kept up and that requires capital. The former director might have thought otherwise but he has since retired." He tried to be discreet about it but Asta had experienced enough to recognize a condescending attitude when he saw one.

"Then the previous director was clearly an honest man," the anti-magic user pointed out.

"What was that?" The current director raised an eyebrow.

"Just now you let someone else in without putting up a fuss," Asta indicated said person entering. They were wearing the cape of one of the magic knight squads. "Yet you stopped me because I'm clearly not of noble status or a magic knight. Not to mention, this establishment is funded by the state, meaning you should have all you need without charging people for admission."

"And just what are you implying, boy," the director growled.

"You're a dishonest, exploitative man trying to make a quick buck off of those from the lower classes," the ashen-haired boy pointed at him, "you let in nobles and magic knights for free to avoid suspicion which is why you've gotten away with it for so long. But this is a library and it should be open to everyone!"

"I'll hear no more of this!" The bespectacled man snapped, "guards, escort this interloper out of here!" One of the guards reached for Asta but his hand shot up and clamped around his wrist like a vice.

"Don't bother, I'll show myself out," he released the man who was now grasping his throbbing wrist before turning and leaving. He sought out a secluded alley to have some privacy then. After all, he was annoyed by this interaction, but there was someone who was fuming about it.

"This is absolutely unacceptable," Megicula stomped her foot and waved her arms childishly, "I can't even begin to comprehend it! The library is supposed to be free for everyone but that crooked director dares to defile such a holy place! It's not fair, I hate it, hate it, HATE IT!" Asta lets out a sigh as the demoness continued to fume for several minutes.

When she finally calmed down the woman rested her head, and pretty much the majority of her weight, on Asta's left shoulder as they walked out of the alley. She looked dead-eyed now, having exhausted herself. "When I get out of prison," she mumbled, "that man will be the first one I kill."

Later: The Magic Knight's Coliseum

As planned, Asta and Yuno met back up at the coliseum when the time was right and registered with everyone else. They had to show their grimoires and give out all kinds of personal information like their names, age, date of birth, the town or village they hailed from, etc. A tedious process but still better than the walk they had to take through the desert to get here. Once all was said and done they were ushered into the main arena part of the coliseum.

As expected there was a large crowd of participants as people from all over came to take the magic knight's exam in hopes of becoming knights themselves. But they weren't the only occupants in the stadium. A large flock of black and white birds with red faces was also flying around and landing on some of the participants. Asta quickly identified the avian creatures as 'anti-birds' due to their behavior.

He read about them once and found that this particular species of birds was attracted to those with lower magic power. This meant Yuno had no birds landing on him at all while he, was basically getting swarmed. 'Not the greatest entrance I've ever made,' he mused as the birds flocked around him with some landing on him while others tried pulling on his cheeks. It didn't hurt but it did obscure his vision and make it difficult for him to move.

It was when he approached a rather tall, intimidating individual that the birds suddenly scattered. "Oh, pardon me," Asta stopped just before running into the man, "the birds were blocking my view."

"You got a death wish, boy?" The man turned to him with a menacing look in his eyes. Now that Asta got a good look at the man, he saw that he was not only tall but extremely muscular, while possessing the eyes of a killer. He was dressed rather simply, in a white tank top and brown pants with even browner boots. But it was the tattered cape hanging off of his right shoulder with the symbol of a bull that gave away the man's real identity.

"Not at all," the ashen-haired boy bowed, "might I ask what a magic knight is doing down here with the participants?"

"I go where I want to go," he clamped his hand on Asta's head, applying a good bit of pressure to it, "got a problem with that?"

"Nope," Asta didn't flinch despite the iron grip on his head, "just curious is all."

"I think this kingdom has a saying about curiosity," the man's eyes shine with murderous intent until someone calls out for him.

"There you are, Captain Yami," a brown-haired man in a green shirt called with another man standing next to him who had a military-style cap, black eyeliner and black lipstick, "what are you doing down here?" They were both wearing the same black cape as the man currently gripping the boy's cranium.

"Right now, gettin' ready to wring this kid's neck," the magic knight captain answered.

"Would you stop that already," the new arrival chided, "captains aren't supposed to kill examinees. Why'd you even come down here in the first place?"

"Went to take a dump and got lost," Yami answered as if it was obvious, "now then, nine, eight."

"If you're counting down to how long it'll take to crush my head, you'd better start with a higher number," Asta grabbed a hold of Yami's arm, "at the same time, the exam's starting so I'd appreciate it if you'd let me go." Veins popped out on his arms as he forcibly removed the captain's hand. For a moment, the man was surprised, clearly not expecting someone of his size to have so much physical strength.

"You little," he was about to continue when fireworks started going off.

"And that's the signal," his subordinate informed, "the exam is about to begin."

"That was a close one, boy," Yami tsked before turning and leaving, "you got a second chance at life. Better do something with it or I'll come back and kill you."

"I already have something in mind," Asta called back while rubbing his head.

"Is your skull alright," Yuno asked while approaching Asta.

"I'd like to know that too," another participant, a young man with dirty blond hair that spiked in the back wearing a light purple jacket approached, "I can't say I envy someone who confronts Captain Yami of the Black Bulls without warning. Oh, I'd best introduce myself, I'm Sekke Bronzazza. It's nice to meet you both." Asta was curious why this stranger was suddenly walking up to talk with them but all conversation ceased as the magic knight captains arrived.

To say they were a varied bunch was an understatement. Some held an absolute air of nobility like Nozel Silva or Fuegoleon Vermillion while others had a regal air to them like Captain Charlotte Roselei. Then there were those who seemed a little odd like the sleeping Captain Dorothy Unsworth or Captain Rill, who seemed to be just a white-haired kid. Then there were the downright weird like Captain Jack, a beanpole of a man with a manic grin on his face and a scar across his eye. Sekke was helpfully naming off all the ones he could remember but Asta had stopped paying attention some time ago.

The reason being was because he spied Megicula's astral projection moving to where the captains were sitting and playfully poking at the sleeping Dorothy. She knew it probably wouldn't work but she was killing time until the exam started. That's when the final magic knight captain walked out, a man with a light brown cape over a long red cape and a gold and blue mask with feathers protruding from the back. This man was William Vangeance, leader of the Golden Dawn, the most powerful squad of magic knights.

He was also said to be a trustworthy man, clearly easy to get along with considering his nonchalant comments when Yami arrived and took his own seat. Megicula moved over then and made a show of trying to blow out the cigarette the man was smoking. Vangeance would draw everyone's attention then by opening his grimoire and casting a spell: Magic Tree's Descent. It was revealed then why many said he was closest to becoming the next Wizard King as the skies darkened and the roots of a gigantic tree reached down into the coliseum.

At the end of each root, a broom formed and was given to each of the exam participants. This was to be their first test, flying a broom. Vangeance quickly explained that anyone in control of their mana could instinctively fly a broom. Asta knew immediately this was going to be a problem.

'Brooms are powered by mana, but I don't have any,' he mused while looking at the small mode of transportation, 'still, I might be able to do something if I put anti-magic into it.' The ashen-haired boy pumped a little bit of the black and red energy into the broom, and was rewarded with it falling apart. "Well that's a great start," he sighed. Naturally Yuno aced the test, not only flying on his broom but standing while doing so.

"Here, you can use my broom," Sekke offered, also flying with relative ease. He was about to hop off when Asta stopped him.

"It's fine," the anti-magic wielder assured, "in fact it'd be better if you didn't give that to me. The result will be the same. I'll have to wait and see what the next test is." This turned out to be a wise decision on his part. The next test was in magical ability and involved destroying a wall with one's magic energy.

Asta concentrated his anti-magic into his hands and fired out a powerful beam. This got the captain's attention as it was strong enough to destroy the entire wall. 'Interesting,' Fuegoleon noted, 'he performed an attack yet I didn't sense a single bit of mana from it.' The same phenomenon was noted by some of the other captains in the next test, Magical Ability Control, when Asta was able to use what he called 'anti-magic bullets' to pierce a piece of target paper floating in the air.

Not all of his shots hit the bullseye, but a few did manage to land on the center. The next two exams, Creation Magic and Developmental Magic were less successful. He was able to form a rather nice miniature of Megicula with his anti-magic, but only the two of them could see it. The other exam required putting mana into a seed to make it grow, but like the broom all his anti-magic did was make it die and disintegrate.

'Three fails to two successes,' the anti-magic wielder mused, 'I have to pass the next test, otherwise I'll probably bomb the exam.' "And now for the final and most difficult test," Vangeance announced, "a display of combat skill." Most of the examinees gasped at this while Asta had to resist pumping his fist. 'Now that is something I can get behind,' he smirked ever so slightly.

"Prepare to duel!" Fuegoleon Vermillion declared with a wave of his hand, "you will break into pairs and fight each other. This should come as no surprise to any of you, as knights, battle is our business. So use your grimoires to attack and defend and show us what you're capable of! The test will end when a participant either surrenders or is unable to continue."

"We have mages with recovery magic standing by," Vangeance added, "so don't feel the need to hold back!" 'Guess that means I should find someone strong,' Asta mused to himself until he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"How about you and I pair up," Sekke offered while pointing to himself.

"That is generous of you," the ashen-haired boy admitted, "but are you strong?"

"I think you'll find my strength adequate, boo-hah," he smiled. It was at that moment a man in a blue robe who'd be serving as referee called for the first matchup. "We're coming!" Everyone moved away from the center of the arena, leaving the two of them with plenty of room.

"Hey, before we begin," Asta spoke up before Sekke could walk too far, "remember not to hold back."

"Not to worry," he put a hand on the anti-magic boy's shoulder, "in fact, I should be thanking you."

"Because you've only been sticking around me to make yourself look better," the ashen-haired boy remarked.

"Oh, you knew," Sekke smirked, "yes, you've been a great help to me. But I have to ask, if you knew, why did you let me keep doing it?"

"Because of what I don't know," Asta responded, "why's someone like you want to get into the magic knights? You're clearly not as strong as you claim to be if you're sticking by me to look better."

"I'm more than strong enough to take on a magicless brat like you," a tick mark appeared on his head, "but for your information I intend to become a magic knight and then kick back and enjoy the easy life."

"I figured it was something unambitious like that," the ashen-haired boy sighed, "you really did get unlucky with me."

"We'll see," Sekke grinned maliciously as the two of them separated and stopped several feet from each other. After a long moment, the referee gave the signal to begin and he opened his grimoire. "Now behold, Bronze Magic: Sekke Magnum Cannonball!" Most everyone, including some of the captains, grimaced at this. While the spells did have names it was unnecessary to call them out verbally to employ them, so those who did were either very confident or, more likely, kinda stupid.

A blue transparent sphere appeared around Sekke with round protrusions Asta assumed were the 'cannons' of the spell. "How do you like this," the bronze magic user declared, "a spell that not only protects my body but allows for counterattacking as well! I don't know what fluke you pulled off in two of the exams but it'll never be able to get through this formation!" The anti-magic user didn't respond, instead, drawing his Demon Slayer Sword from his grimoire while analyzing the spell.

It was very much like he said, a complete sphere leaving no seeming openings. But there was one problem. The spell was a perfectly round sphere that caused a slight separation between his feet and the ground. 'I wonder if that would be affected by recoil,' Asta mused while Sekke kept calling out to him, trying to goad him into attacking.

Naturally he was in no hurry and instead tried to think of a way to impress the magic knight captains. "Oh, not going to attack, boo-haa," Sekke called, "well that's just fine, I'll attack then!" The cannons fired on his command, sending blue projectiles known as magic bullets towards the ashen-haired boy. But, as he suspected, the attack also caused recoil and the sphere rolled back slightly.

Asta tilted his head to avoid the first attack and shifted side to side to avoid the next couple of attacks. With each shot, the bronze magic user rolled his sphere in one direction or another. "You have enough control of your magic to do the basics," Asta called out as he decided to advance forward slowly, "but you have little understanding of what it means to choose a proper combat form. A dome would be more effective than a sphere in this instance."

"You keep your mouth shut!" Sekke yelped while firing more cannonballs and rolling around due to the recoil, "I know exactly what I'm doing!" Asta sighed while batting one of the projectiles back into the sphere, causing it to roll back again. Sekke just barely kept his footing and looked back in frustration.

"I doubt that very highly," he was right in front of him. Even though the bronze magic user didn't blink, his speed was so fast he never even saw him move. He was also standing in between some of the protrusions, making it impossible for Sekke to hit him, not that he would've had the chance. Asta swung his sword one-handed then, his anti-magic easily cutting through the sphere as the flat side of the blade slammed into the bronze magic user and sent him flying into the wall, cratering it. "The magic knights aren't a place where you can slack off."

When the referee moved to check on him, he found Sekke unconscious and declared Asta the winner. 'That was anti-climactic,' Megicula rested her head on her hand, 'well hopefully some of the other fights will be more entertaining.' This did turn out to be the case, to a degree, as the other participants paired up and faced off against each other. Some fights were quick, some were slightly lengthy, and some were just downright embarrassing to watch as it turned out more than a couple folks had somehow not grasped the concept of magic knights fighting to enforce the law.

Yuno, for his part, apparently didn't want to be shown up by Asta and easily overpowered his opponent with a tornado that reached well above the stadium, ending the battle in seconds. All of this took a few hours and when the fighting was finally over, the time came for the captains to choose their new squad members. It was a simple process, when a participant stepped up the squad captains that wanted them would raise their hands. If no one raised their hand, it meant that participant had failed.

There were many cases with no hands raised and in the cases where hands were raised it was usually only one or two captains that did so. Then Yuno's turn came and, to everyone's surprise but Asta, every magic knight captain raised their hands. 'He did excel at every test and beat a noble within seconds,' his foster brother smiled lightly, 'so this is to be expected.' "It would be an honor to join the Golden Dawn," Yuno declared his choice, naturally picking the magic knight squad that offered, in his mind, the surest path to becoming the Wizard King.

The moment of truth came then as Asta was called up next. He took a deep breath and held his head high, fixing his gaze on Megicula who was still sitting among the captains. She nodded and the anti-magic boy stepped forward. The anti-magic wielder waited then as a call came out for hands.

The captains were clearly thinking hard on this one. It was to be expected, anti-magic was a mysterious power, even Megicula still didn't know every way it could be used. What was more, his lack of magic power no doubt caused some hesitation. But not among everyone.

It was slow, but the captains of both the Black Bulls and the Crimson Lion Kings finally raised their hands. Asta let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. "Alright kid," Yami called down, "you did alright after all. So, who's it gonna be?"

The anti-magic boy considered his options. On the surface the choice seemed obvious. The Black Bulls had a reputation as being the worst magic knight's squad out there, often causing as much if not more harm than good. The Crimson Lion Kings, on the other hand, were tied with the Silver Eagles and maybe even the Golden Dawn when it came to respectability and they were known to be a fairly tough bunch.

Again, it seemed like an obvious choice on the surface. But the Black Bulls offered Asta one thing the Crimson Lion Kings likely couldn't: flexibility. He recognized that as analytical as his approaches to a lot of things had become, it would still probably be harder for him to experiment with his anti-magic if he had to constantly worry about keeping up appearances of respectability. After all, it was likely the Crimson Lion Kings had more contact with nobles and it might cause a problem if Asta, intentionally or unintentionally, embarrassed them with his anti-magic.

The Black Bulls, however, already had a less than respectable reputation, meaning if he did cause trouble on accident, it wouldn't be anything they hadn't dealt with before. "It's an honor that you've both given me your consideration," Asta began, "and while I believe the Crimson Lion Kings would grant me many opportunities, I feel that my path lies with the Black Bulls." A murmur went through the crowd before Yami let out a boisterous laugh.

"Hahaha," he slapped his knee, "so the wildcard wants to go with us. Well the first thing you should know is this; don't worry about being formal with us. The Black Bulls do things their own way."

"I look forward to seeing that," Asta smirked before turning and heading to where the other examinees who passed were. The selection continued on into the evening after that. Little surprise considering there were over five hundred applicants and by the time all was said and done, the sun had set.

"I must admit," Yuno commented as they stood just outside the stadium, "I thought you would've gone for the Crimson Lion Kings."

"Just being in a magic knight's squad is already a step closer to becoming the Wizard King," Asta pointed out, "I just figured a squad with people wielding some odder magic would be a better fit for me right now."

"Well, you seem to know what you're doing half the time," Yuno held up his fist, "so try not to fall behind. I don't want to leave you in the dust so soon."

"Same to you," Asta gave a toothy grin as they bumped fists. The duo split then and headed towards their respective squads.

"You finish saying your goodbyes," Yami asked as he approached.

"I did," the ashen-haired boy nodded, "but I know Yuno and I will see each other again soon enough."

"We'll see about that," the Black Bulls Captain took another drag of his cigarette before directing his gaze to the brown-haired subordinate, "Finral, get us out of here, there's a bottle of booze with my name on it."

"Here goes," he held up his hand and a white portal opened in front of him and grew to accommodate the four of them. As everyone started stepping forward, however, Asta felt a violent reaction from Megicula.

"He has," the demoness ground her teeth, "spatial magic?!" Asta remembered something then, a question he'd asked her at some point in the past.

A Few Months Ago: Hage Village

"Hey Megicula, I've got a question," he breathed out as he finished his latest set of sword swings.

"What is it, Asta," the demoness was sitting on one of the rocks nearby.

"How exactly were the magical attributes created," the sword wielder asked, "I can kind of understand the basic elements but how do the offshoots and all that happen?"

"Magical attributes are related to the current knowledge and advancement of a civilization," Megicula began her explanation, "I know that's confusing so let me give you a specific example: fire. When humanity discovered fire, it wasn't enough to just know it existed. They had to know where it came from and how to produce it. The same thing applies with magic, once it was discovered people had to experiment with it and understand how it worked, which in turn created the magical attributes we have today."

"Does that include-," the anti-magic wielder got his question immediately answered before he could finish asking it.

"That applies to all phenomenon," the winged woman clarified, "even the concepts of space and time. However, the closer we get to concepts that deal with the laws of reality itself, the harder it is to learn about and thus knowledge of such subjects, even after all this time, is limited and primitive. Due to this incompleteness it's typically impossible for most to gain a more advanced attribute of magic."

"Is it," Asta thought how to phrase his question while looking at his grimoire, "is it possible to acquire that kind of knowledge by force?"

"You've seen my memories," Megicula set her mouth in a grim line, "you know through the right torturous means it is possible to acquire such knowledge. Humans employed it in the past. Some of the magic they wield today was forcibly acquired by their ancestors."

The Present

"Oh, have you never seen Spatial Magic before," Finral asked, snapping Asta out of his memory, "don't worry, we use my magic to get around all the time, it's perfectly safe." The anti-magic wielder nodded before discreetly grasping Megicula's hand with his left hand. It was enough to calm her down, though he found himself not wanting to contemplate what Finral's ancestors might've done to acquire this magic. He would worry about it later.

For now, the next step on his journey was about to begin. So, he took a deep breath, and stepped through the portal to the Black Bull's base.

Asta has passed the exam and can now officially be inducted as a magic knight!
