Chapter 137: The Suspected Infidelity of the Triple Collab, Part One

Time passes...

"Wasn't that awesome?" Genta gushed at Danny's one evening. "The Kamen Yaiba vs. Cosmo Detective Ginga movie was great."

"The scene of Lady Yaiba Fuko-chan tending Ginka-kun's wounds made my heart skip." Ayumi swooned.

"They were both blushing, too." Mitsuhiko added. "It was the rare kind scene you can only see in a collab movie."

"It's the cheater's mentality." Haibara cut in. "Most humans are curious and get bored quickly, so they're easily excited by seeing new members of the opposite sex."

"You love reading infidelity in everything." Conan twitched.

"At least the theme song is catchy." Fumio piped in. "I recall it's by that band that got big recently. The Knight Hearts, right?"

"I heard they're performing a concert soon." Haibara informed.

"But aren't the tickets already sold out?" Fumio pointed out.

"Next Saturday, starting at 6pm." Nagasu Tokumi suddenly spoke. "They're performing at Toto Dome. So, don't be late. That's if you're someone who managed to get your hands on one of those rare tickets that sold out within ten minutes. Will we be attending? Of course. After all, we've been fans of theirs since they were an indie group." she bragged, showing off the group photo that was taken when the 'Knight Hearts' were starting out. They send tickets to us without even asking."

"I'm sorry." Kokonoe Sumika apologized as Toya Mao pulled the chuckling Nagasu off. "She's gotten a bit carried away since her favorite band got their big break."

"I'm going to the toilet." Genta informed, after one of the waitresses took their orders.

"Me too." Ayumi voiced.

"Then, I'll go get some of this restaurant's original soup like my mom requested." Mitsuhiko interjected.

"Kobayashi-sensei, Detective Chiba and Taiko Meijin are here at this family restaurant?" Professor Agasa exclaimed after Genta, Ayumi and Mitsuhiko returned.

"They must be on dates." Genta determined.

"Won't that be considered triple dates?" Fumio pondered. "Now what?" he asked when the lights suddenly turned off.

The kids then heard a waitress walk out from the kitchen, pushing a serving trolley with a birthday cake and present it to the birthday girl, Tomoko.

"Wait a sec, they're gone." Fumio panicked, noticing Genta, Ayumi and Mitsuhiko were missing after the lights went back on.

"Why do you guys look like that?" Conan was confused after Genta, Ayumi and Mitsuhiko returned with disappointed expressions.

"We thought they'd be lovey-dovey." Ayumi complained.

"It was a massive disappointment." Mitsuhiko moaned. "All three of them were collabing." he then showed the others the photos he took.

"What is this situation?" Fumio gawked.

"Kobayashi-sensei is with Detective Chiba." even Conan was shocked. "Taiko Meijin is with Naeko-san. And Inspector Shiratori is eating with Yumi-san."

"it's because they're cheating." Haibara growled.

"But Kobayashi-sensei would never..." Fumio protested.

"As an infidelity researcher, sounds like I'll have to investigate." Haibara declared.

"Haibara, should we..." Fumio trailed. "Give them the benefit of the doubt?"

Just then, Nagasu's group let out a horrified scream when Nagasu toppled over in her chair after eating a fruit maritozzi.

"Don't touch her." Conan barked, running in, Detective Chiba also arriving on scene.

"Stand back." Chiba went to work. "I'm a police officer. No pulse." he cursed.

"Her mouth smells like almonds." Shiratori took over. "It was cyanide."

"Miike, call Miwako and an ambulance, too." Yumi instructed.

"This is going to be a pain." Fumio sighed, all three couples realizing the other's presence.

"Guys." Conan cut off the couples' arguments. "There's been a murder that we should be investigating."

"You three came with the victim, right?" Chiba pulled the three women with Nagasu aside. "What's the victim's name?"

"Nagasu Tokumi-san, 29 years old." Conan supplied. "She lived in Haido City and worked in a pet shop in Beika City. She came here for a girls' night out with Toya-san and Kokonoe-san. They chose this place because their fourth girls' night out friend, Aijima-san, is a waitress at this family restaurant. The victim probably died because she ate those maritozzi Aijima-san brought out after their meal, but since Toya-san and Kokonoe-san also ate the pastries, we still don't know who poisoned her, when and how."

"Thank you, Conan-kun." Chiba was dumbstruck by the in-depth analysis.

"We helped question them, too." Mitsuhiko piped in.

"All of us divided up the work since all of you were arguing." Fumio shrugged. "Seriously, Inspector Shiratori." he sighed. "Kaa-san will be so disappointed in you."

"You turned Detective Sato and Takagi away because you didn't want to witness this bloodbath." Haibara concluded.

In the carpark...

"Sounds like you crossed a boundary this time." Professor Agasa chuckled at the disgruntled Haibara.
