Chapter 35
Attack on Shadaloo

Though Ryu was confused as to why he would be receiving his reward so soon, he nevertheless decided to follow the Clumsy Robot. Leaving his room, he walked behind the robot as the latter took the lead through the winding hallways until they came to a door at the end of the place.

Unknown to them, Poli and Miranda were watching from around the corner as the robot opened the door simply by standing in front of it. "They're going in!" said Miranda. "Do we follow them?"

"No, we would be spotted too easily," said Poli. "Let's observe more carefully what happens after they go in first."

Ryu entered into the room with the Clumsy Robot, and before them stood F.A.N.G, who approached Ryu and said, "Congratulations on winning your match! You must be wondering why you are called here."

"To receive my reward, I heard? I find it strange it would happen now. Something like this is normally reserved for after the tournament is over," replied Ryu.

"But you see, Mister Monotoli is a generous person who doesn't wish for his customers to wait too long, so since you won your first round, he figured that he might as well give you something already. I hope you don't mind this," F.A.N.G told him.

"I don't see why I would mind," said Ryu.

"Well, then I hope then you are read to receive it," said F.A.N.G with a suspicious smile. He then swung his arms and released blue gas from underneath his sleeves.

However, at the exact moment he did this, Ryu shot a Hadoken out of his hand. The blue fireball plowed through the cloud of blue gas, dissipating it, and struck F.A.N.G, blowing him backwards. F.A.N.G crashed onto the floor and groaned in pain as he slowly sat back up, and he glared at Ryu and shouted, "What the hell?!"

Lowering his stance, Ryu said, "I already know from my previous experience with another you that you're not a good person, so never trusted you at all!"

"What are you on about? Either way, now that you know something suspicious is going on, you won't be getting out of this so easily! You should've just accepted what I had to offer you!" said F.A.N.G. He jumped as he spun at Ryu, attacking with an aerial kick that Ryu blocked with his arm.

Ryu then struck back with his own attacks that F.A.N.G blocked as well. The two traded blows against each other and also shot projectiles that they managed to dodge. Ryu shot blue fireballs, while F.A.N.G shot blasts of purple smoke.

Outside the room, Poli, Miranda, and Ness had their ears pressed against the door, and they could hear hitting sound effects going on in in there and occasionally cries coming from those two, especially F.A.N.G, since he made a lot of high pitched cries as he fought.

"I think a fight is going on inside," said Ness.

"What do we do? Should we break in there and see what's going on?" suggested Miranda.

"That would be better than just standing here and doing nothing!" said Poli. "Everyone, stand back!" Ness and Miranda moved back as Poli whipped out her shotgun and fired at the doorknob, blowing it off with a single shot, and then she proceeded to kick open the door and stepped inside with her gun pointing ahead. "Everyone, freeze!"

Inside, they saw Ryu and F.A.N.G fighting, and the Clumsy Robot was just standing at the side, saying "congratulations on winning your fight" over and over. The three were in shock as Ryu and F.A.N.G fought each other, and F.A.N.G eventually saw them and said, "Who are you people?! Only staff members are allowed here!"

Before he knew it, Ryu was able to land a punch on his face, and then the rest of the latter's attacks were able to connect against him. F.A.N.G was punched into a door, and when he saw Ryu charging at him for another attack, he created a cloud of purple smoke in hopes of discouraging him to come forward. However, Ryu pressed forward anyway and attacked him with a flying kick that was strong enough to smash him through the door.

Ryu then backed away and breathed air while thinking, "Good thing I held my breath…"

Poli, Miranda, and Ness came up to him, and Ness asked, "What happened? Why'd the two of you fight?"

"That person in my world is a member of Shadaloo. This one tried to poison me or something, but I knew from experience that this would happen, so I fought back," replied Ryu.

The four then stepped into the room that F.A.N.G flew into, and they were shocked at what they saw. There were a number of computers and large machines in the room, with several scientists working on them. But the most shocking thing they saw were the presence of several glass capsules, some of which had people put in stasis inside them.

"What… What is this place…?" gasped Miranda.

"Zangief!" said Ryu in shock when he saw said wrestler inside one of the class capsules.

Ness saw one of the scientists present and was surprised to see who he is. "Doctor Andonut?!"

Poli, on the other hand, saw another scientist there who looks familiar to her as well. "I know you! You're that doctor from the squad Seraphim, Mary!" Mary was confused about what she said, though.

F.A.N.G sat up and said in anger, "You're not supposed to see this! Now that you saw this, there's no reason to let you live any longer!"

"What is all this? Explain yourselves!" said Poli while threatening everyone with her shotgun.

"Sorry, but being the second-in-command of this place, I do not have the permission to tell you anything unless my boss allows me do so. On the other hand, you can try to experience for yourself what is happening!" F.A.N.G told her.

"Your boss is M. Bison, isn't it? And you're part of Shadaloo?" Ryu asked him.

F.A.N.G was surprised to hear this and asked, "How'd you know that?! Ah wait, I remember… You're the vigilante that defeated the Mad Sharks! They must've spilled the beans to you about our operations! Those traitors and useless fools! I'll see to it that they get punished for ruining everything!"

"I don't know what's going on here, but you better shut this place down and let go of everyone! What you're doing can't be good!" said Ryu seriously.

"You think you can convince us to do it with a few words? Not even attacking us will do any good!" said F.A.N.G.

"Then you clearly have never been on the other end of our attacks before," Ness said to him.

Miranda, realizing that they need help, took out her walkie-talkie and spoke into it.

Back in the fighting ring, Milk was fighting a high school girl named Sakura, who had the same fighting style as Ryu, right down to shooting blue fireballs. Despite her age, Sakura showed incredibly fighting skills that Milk was unable to overcome, but the Nikke pressed forward regardless, trying to win against Sakura.

Her fellow Nikke were still watching the fight when Rosanna' communication device that she hid in one of her ears started up. Miranda's voice came out of it and said, "We found evil activity going on! Come to the staff only door at the end of the hallway and help fast! Hurry!"

Upon hearing this, Rosanna stood up and said to the others, "Time to work, girls. Let's get moving."

"What? Did Poli find something?" Pepper asked her.

"Seems to be the case," replied Rosanna as she and the others made their way out of the audience row. "Let's grab our guns fast."

As weapons were not allowed in the place, the Nikke had to smuggle their guns into the place by Poli and Miranda, who disguised themselves as staff members, as said before. The two hid their guns in boxes carried on a trolley and parked it in the hallway, under the guise that they were cleaning equipment.

Milk was in the middle of fighting when she noticed the Nikke leaving the place. "Huh? Where are they going? Aren't they going to watch me fight to the end?" she wondered. She then hurriedly blocked a punch from Sakura.

"You look distracted. What's the matter?" Sakura asked her.

"Don't get so full of yourself! I'm not going to lose to you so easily!" Milk said to her, sounding annoyed.

Back in the room filled with glass capsules, several Shadaloo soldiers had appeared and were pointing their guns at the good guys already present there. Ryu, Ness, and Poli were not fazed as they looked around at their opponents with serious expressions, while Miranda stood behind Poli with a scared look.

"Surrender now, and you will live and become useful for Lord Bison!" F.A.N.G said to them.

"You think you can convince us like this? I've been through worse situations than this and lived!" Ness said to him.

"Then you clearly have not crossed Lord Bison before! I guarantee you that he is nothing like whatever you've faced in the past! He is the best of the best and the most fearsome among the fearsome!" said F.A.N.G. "You can try to stand against him, but you will definitely fail!"

"I've faced people like him before and won, so he won't be any different," said Ryu, referring to the times he defeated his own Bison. "Your boss will fall just like my past opponents!"

"How dare you speak of Lord Bison like he is insignificant?! Fine! If you want to die, then be my guest! Get them!" said F.A.N.G in anger.

But before the guards could do anything, everything was surprised by the sound of gunfire. Turning around, they saw the other group of good guys arriving at the room, and Rosanna had fired her gun against the ceiling to grab their attentions. "Looks like we came just in time to the party," she said. "Hope you don't mind us joining!"

"You're all here! Great!" said Miranda happily.

"Who do you think you are, barging here like this?!" said F.A.N.G in frustration.

Looking around at all the lab equipment, Pepper said, "What… What this place? It's like some kind of lab…" And that was when she noticed a familiar person standing among the scientists further back in the room. "Mary?!"

Mary looked at her and asked, "Do… Do I know you?"

"Get them!" F.A.N.G shouted at the guards.

But just as the guards were going to do something, Ein's Feathers zipped around in the air at a fast speed and shot them with electric projectiles that stunned them and made them drop their weapons. Ryu and Poli saw this as the opportunity beat them up with their fists and shotgun respectively.

F.A.N.G backed away in shock at how easily the guards were dealt with, and he said, "Useless! What do you think we pay you for?!"

"Your boss will be wondering what he is paying you for after we're done with you," Ness said to him.

"You talk big, kid! You have no idea what I'm capable of!" said F.A.N.G as he got into a fighting stance.

"Be careful," Ryu told Ness. "F.A.N.G specializes in using poison."

"Nothing a little PSI Healing can't treat!" said Ness.

The floor suddenly shook, grabbing everyone's attention. "What's all the ruckus here?" said the voice of someone new.

Everyone looked and saw that M. Bison, Porky, Balrog, Vega, and Chatterbox had appeared at the place. Clay was also seen with them, standing next to Vega with a nervous and reluctant look.

"Bison!" said Ryu in surprise and anger.

"Porky?!" said Ness in shock when he saw the familiar fat kid.

"Clay?!" Bay said in shock and confusion at seeing her teammate on the villains' side.

"What is that monster behind them?!" said Little Mac in shock.

"I know him! He's a Tyrant-class Rapture called Chatterbox, and he's also unique among Raptures in that he can talk!" gasped Poli. "What is he doing here?!"

Bison glared at the good guys and said, "You should not be in here. It would be wise of you to walk out and never speak of what you see."

"I don't know what you're doing here, but it seems that you are up to no good, Bison," Ryu said to him with an angry expression. "There is no way we're going to walk away like nothing happened now that we're here!"

"Right! We're helping the police investigate this place, and now we have evidence that something shady is indeed going on here!" said Poli.

"I remember now," said Bison. "You are the vigilantes who took down the Mad Sharks. Not that I care about them anyway, since they're a bunch of hooligans with no power to back me up. You simply got rid of unnecessary bugs for me!"

"That's what what I call poor leadership," said Rosanna. "A good leader cares for his subordinates whether or not they are competent! What you said just now shows that you are unfit to rule! You're just an evil jerk who cares about himself!"

"How dare you speak ill of Lord Bison!" F.A.N.G said to her angrily.

"And I not saying the truth? How much does he care about you folks? For all I know, he'll throw you aside if you guys screw up one way or the other!" Rosanna said to him.

"Boss pays me well, and for that, I will never fail him! The better I perform, the more he pays me!" said Balrog.

"You speak like you know everything about our boss, but you actually know nothing," Vega said to her. "Perhaps you should come over to our side, and you will know that we are not as bad you think. Our organization could use more beauties like you!"

"Oh, you sound like quite a gentleman," said Rosanna with a smirk. "But too bad I'll have to turn down that offer and instead gun you all down instead."

"Clay! What are you doing with them? You're not a bad person!" Bay said to Clay.

Clay had an uneasy look on her face and didn't say anything, but Vega said, "She's one my side because she owes me. If it weren't for me, she wouldn't be here today! I took her in and gave her everything, so she is in my debt!"

"I refuse to believe this! You're probably holding her hostage and threatening her!" said Bay in anger.

"Can we kill them now, boss?" Balrog asked Bison.

"Do whatever," said Bison. "Make sure that nothing they see here makes it outside." Bison began to turn and leave, and while doing so, he said to Chatterbox, "Chatterbox, take your fight elsewhere. I don't want you wrecking this place."

"With pleasure…!" said Chatterbox as he stepped forward.

The Nikke readied their guns, while Little Mac, Ryu, Ken, and Ness got into fighting stances as the Rapture closed in on them. "This is the first time I'm fighting someone this big," said Ken with a smirk and without not a single nervousness on his expression.

"It will be a new experience and challenge to overcome," said Ryu with interest.

Just then, Milk came running into the room with bruises on her body and panting heavily. "Guys… I came rushing here when I spotted you from down the hallway…" she said, and then she saw the villains. "What the?! What's going on here?!"

Chatterbox let out a loud cry as he lunged forward and slammed down his fist in their direction, forcing them to jump out of the way to avoid getting hit. Looking up, he saw Poli and Ken standing before him and so charged at them. The two freaked out and turned to run out of the room as fast as they could, with Chatterbox following them and tearing through the wall.

Balrog then ran at Little Mac and threw a punch at him while the latter was watching Chatterbox chase those two down the hallway. Mac failed to respond in time and punched out of the room. Balrog approached him and said, "You're a boxer, right? What saw fellow boxers like us have it one on one?

Mac got up and said to him, "Sure, why not?"

"That's the spirit! Now die!" said Balrog before dashing at him. Little Mac held up his arms to block the punch, but the punch was so strong that he flew backwards and out of the room, and Balrog chased him out there.

"Little Mac!" Bay called out to him in concern. Vega suddenly lunged at her with a clawed gauntlet in his hand, but she reacted in time and moved out of the way swiftly.

"Nice reflexes! Let's see if you can keep this up! It would be a shame if your beautiful skin bleeds too soon, so don't disappoint me," Vega said to him.

"You're a sick jerk!" said Bay in disgust and anger while holding up her rocket launcher.

Bison, seeing that his subordinates were going to deal with everything by themselves, began to leave the place with Porky. They made their way to an elevator and began to enter it. Ryu saw him leaving and went after him. "Bison!"

But F.A.N.G got in front of him. "You're not getting to Lord Bison so easily!" However, bullets were fired at him, and he reacted in time by jumping away.

Rosanna, who fired earlier, said to Ryu, "Go after Bison! Leave this guy to us!"

Ryu nodded before heading for the elevator Bison and Porky disappeared into. Ness, Milk, Ein, and Zwei also went with Ryu. "We're coming along," Ness told him. "That kid Porky is someone I know from my world, so I'm going to be having a word with him."

"We just want to tag along to help," said Ein, and Zwei nodded.

"Bison is the whole reason we're here, right? Good! I'm going to beat the big bad of this operation to vent myself after losing my fight!" said Milk while cracking her fist.

"You lost to that Sakura girl?" Zwei asked her.

Milk's face turned red with embarrassment and frustration. "Yeah… I lost to her, okay…?"

While those five waited for the elevator to arrive, Pepper and Rosanna faced off against F.A.N.G, and the latter said to him, "So… are you ready to die?"

"Grrrr! I'll make you regret this!" said F.A.N.G in anger.

All the while, Miranda was standing on one side, trembling violently in fear. "What… What do I do…?" she cried to no one in particular.

"Congratulations on winning your fight!" said the Clumsy Robot, which was standing next to her.

I feel like this chapter is a bit messy and rushed, but I couldn't really think of a better way to set up the upcoming fights. I hope you can accept it regardless...
