I slammed the door open and saw Rem on the bed.

I walked up to her and checked her condition.

She was still breathing, and her pulse was fine, so she was still alive.

Thank God.

Then, I heard a voice behind me.

?: "It was my fault she ended up in that state, I'm sorry Natsuki Subaru-sama."

When I turned around I saw that in front of me was the same gi-

?: "I'm a boy."

Did he just read my mind?

...Alright, it was the same boy from my previous loop. He was bowing to me in a perfect 90° angle.

Subaru: "Before we decide whose fault it is. Can I have your name first?"

Cylob: "My name is Cylob Protsav." He said while still bowing.

Does he plan on staying like that?

Subaru: "Raise your head."

He did as I said. He had a poker face, so I couldn't tell what he was thinking.

Subaru: "And tell me why you think this is your fault."

Cylob: "If I was smarter or stronger, I would have been able to get out of the situation we were in without this much damage. So-"

Subaru: "What are you stupid?! No, you are stupid! You were up against two Archbishops! TWO! We were only against one and we still barely beat him! You were up against two of those! And not only did you live to tell the tale, you even managed to save some people! YOU DID ENOUGH!"

He was surprised by the fact that I cut him off, but my words seemed to surprise him even more.

Cylob: "...If the one who defeated the White Whale says that I did enough, then how can I think differently?... Thank you... for saying that. I'm sure you don't understand how much that means to me, but I deeply appreciate it... Thank you. I will rightfully accept my achievements from now on!" He said as he bumped his chest with his fist and gave a small smile.

Subaru: "Good." I nod and smile as well.

...

I look at Rem.

Is she completely fine?

Cylob: "In case you're wondering, Rem-san will wake up soon, but she will need to take a rest for a couple of days until she fully recovers."

He can read my mind, can't he?! Either way, it's good it's nothing serious.

Subaru: "So she just needs to rest..."

Cylob: "Yep. Just a lil' bit of rest and she'll be in tip top shape."

I look back at him with a poker face.

Cylob: "What?"

I continue to stare at him.

Cylob: "Oooh... Are you surprised by how fast I changed my tone? Well, this is the casual me, my previous behavior was the serious me. Nice to meet you, Great Mabeast killer." He extended his hand out to me.

So his actions before this were just an act?

Subaru: "It's nice to meet you too, I guess?" I shook his hand.

Cylob: "Well, thank you for improving my confidence, but I must go now. See ya!"

He walked out of the room, while waving me goodbye.

Subaru: "Bye." I wave back.

We were in an extremely luxurious room, much more luxurious than I remember it.

In the room, Emilia's and Crusch's camp were about to talk about their alliance.

The most important people from these two camps were present: Natsuki Subaru, Emilia, Felix Argyle, Wilhelm van Astrea and-

Cylob: "Why am I here again?"

-me, for some reason.

Wilhelm: "You are here as the mediator. To use your words: you're the middleman."

Cylob: "No, I get that fact. I mean like, why me specifically?"

Felix: "Everynyan else is too busy."

Cylob: "So instead of waiting for a better time and getting someone better suited for the job, you want me - a 15 year old kid - to be the overseer of this talk?" I point to myself.

Felix: "Crusch-sama gave your commyands top priority, didn't she? That myeans she saw something in you. You also have unparalleled myemory and you're extremely mature for your age. Considering all of that, you're more than qualified." He shrugged.

Cylob: "I'm not mature, I just seem mature... but I can't argue with the Crusch and memory facts."

I rub my temples.

Due to my interference, Crusch isn't present. This means that there's no one to stop Ferris when he goes on his rant. Subaru will just add fuel to the fire, Emilia is too innocent, Wilhelm won't intervene until it's too late and even then Ferris might just ignore him, and I don't even wanna think about Puck. So my only option is to stop him myself. You reap what you sow, I guess.

I take a deeeeep breath and sigh.

Cylob: "Alright, I'll oversee this talk."

Wilhelm: "Thank you for your cooperation, Cylob."

The sitting arrangement was the same as in the anime, except Wilhelm was in Crusch's spot and I was in Wilhelm's.

Cylob: "No probs. I just have one question. Why not wait until Crusch-sama wakes up?"

Subaru: "I would like to ask the same question."

We both stared at Felix.

Felix: "This myatter is of utmost importance and myust be dealt with as quickly as possible."

Cylob: "If it's that important, then why are you deciding without your most important person?"

Felix: "That's the exact reason why I'm doing this!" He stands up and slams his hands on the table. "The only reason she's in bed and nyot dead is because of you, Cylo-kyun! This alliance endangers Crusch-sama's life, so I see nyo reason to continue it!"

Subaru: "Crusch's life is not your to command!" He stands up.

Felix: "It doesn't myatter who commands something, if it doesn't exist!"

Subaru: "Hk!"

Subaru was taken aback by that comment. He wanted to retort, but I put my palm in front of him to stop him, so he sat down with his arms crossed.

Cylob: "As correct as you are Ferris, Natsuki-sama is right. If your only reason is someone's safety, then their opinion is leagues more important than yours. But I also understand that you care about your master and want to make sure that nothing bad happens to her. Either way, you should sit down and stop shouting. Being angry won't do you or your master any good."

Felix begrudgingly sat down with his arms crossed.

Emilia was feeling guilty and looking down in shame, while Wilhelm was feeling extremely proud.

Huh?! Wait. What the hell is he proud about? Umm, whatever. I have bigger fish to fry.

Emilia: "Um, I don-"

Cylob: "Think before you say, Emilia-sama. Your words are extremely heavy." I smiled at her.

She was surprised by my words, but actually decided to think for once.

After a bit of silence she finally spoke.

Emilia: "Um... Ferris... I understand your point, but I think that it would be better to wait until we could get Crusch's input. Deciding on whether to end this alliance or not should be done with the highest figures of both sides present."

Felix: "But-"

Wilhelm: "I agree with Emilia-sama."

Felix: "You too Old Man Will?!"

Subaru: "I agree with Emilia's judgement. It's three against one Ferris." Subaru glared at Felix.

Felix looked down, clenched his teeth and clutched his skirt.

I don't like that look on your face.

Felix: "but... IT'S NOT FAIR!" Everyone was taken aback by that shout.

He started crying.

Felix: "I'm the closest to her! Why do you get to choose what happens to her?! Why is my opinion not thought about?! You can't just endanger her life like that! She already almost died! I... I DON'T WANT TO SEE HER DIE! So why?! Why?! WH-" I forcefully pull him into a hug.

Cylob: "Shhh, sh, sh, sh, sh. Everything is going to be alright. She's strong, you're strong, so everything will be fine. You won't let your master die, will you? So calm down, everything is going to be fine."

When I scanned the room with Mana Sense I noticed that Subaru was holding Emilia's sleeve.

So that's why she didn't comfort Ferris. Subaru stopped her. He's kind of a jerk, isn't he? But I guess all teenagers are. I'm a jerk sometimes too. I shouldn't judge people by one action. I should reall- Stop! I always get sidetracked like that! Why do I always do that?! There are important things to be done! Stop. Getting. Sidetracked!

I turn my head to everyone, while still hugging Felix.

Cylob: "I don't care if I can or not, but I'm postponing this discussion until Crusch gets better. This decision is non-negotiable."

Felix: "WHY-" He tried to push me away, but he didn't use enough strength to make a difference.

Cylob: "BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT IN YOUR RIGHT MIND! Seeing your master who's always so strong and determined, on a bed, while being powerless and not so long ago being a hair's breadth away from death, is doing no good for your mental health!"

Felix: "Hk." His tears start flowing again.

As everyone slowly left the room, I kept hugging Felix to make him feel better.

...

Felix: "*sniff* Thank you."

Cylob: "Do you feel better now?" I release him from my hug.

Felix: "Yes." He nods.

Cylob: "Why don't you go to Crusch? Seeing her might help you."

Felix: "I think I'll do that."

He walks away, while I'm left in thought.

Wasn't Ferris taller?

I open the door, walk in and carefully close it behind me.

In the room Felix was overlooking Crusch. He had a tired expression, but he had some light in his eyes. He also seemed much more stable then what he was like in the meeting.

They look just like Subaru and Rem, huh.

Felix: "Why did you come?"

Cylob: "I'm... not sure myself. Maybe because I wanna make sure you're fine, maybe because I wanna try to learn more about the condition Crusch is in, cus from the way you phrased it, it didn't seem like a normal mana deficit."

Felix: "For your informyation, I'm fine. About the condition..." He touches Crusch's arm. "...From what I can see, Crusch-sama's nerves have been damyaged, so she won't be able to move or feel anything below her head for a while."

Cylob: "Can't you just heal the nerves?"

Felix: "That's the problem: her nerves haven't been damyaged. It's just that the condition is similar, but overall it's very different. Thankfully it seems to be healing quite fast, but I don't knyow when it'll heal fully."

Damaging nerves in a special way... I thought I was just taking mana from her, but it seems like it was more than that.

I should be more careful about stuff like this. I didn't know exactly how my ability worked, so it got some people hurt. I should find out more about my abilities to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Cylob: "So you don't know when she'll get back to full health?"

Felix: "From the rate at which it's healing at, it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks."

Cylob: "I see..."

Sure I took a pretty big amount of mana, but seriously? 2 weeks? Isn't that too long?

Felix: "...I wyant to ask you something." He looks right at me.

Cylob: "Ask away."

Felix: "How did you get rid of the Whale's fog? How did a boulder just appear out of nyowhere beneath your feet? And what did you do to keep Crusch safe?"

Should I tell him?... Yeah, I guess I should.

Cylob: "It's my ability. I'm not sure how I got it or where it came from, but it allows me to send things to another dimension and then take them back out."

Felix: "Daimenshon?"

Ah, that's right, they're not familiar with the concept. But wasn't Beatrice familiar with it? Guess that was one of the things she learned from Echidna. Anyway, how do I even begin to explain...

Cylob: "...Think of it as a space with nothing in it. No air, no light: nothing. The only things there, are ones that I send. Time also doesn't move there, which means that things there can't rot and stuff like that."

Felix: "So you syent Crusch-sama there to keep her safe?"

Cylob: "I had no other choice, so yes."

He looked back at Crusch.

Felix: "Why didn't you tell us about this ability earlier?"

Cylob: "Everyone has their secrets, you know? Despite, it's not that powerful. The only reason I was able to send Rem and Crusch there is because they weren't resisting. In actual combat scenarios it's just a waste of mana."

Felix: "I see..."

He keeps looking intently at Crusch.

Felix: "Thank you... for saving Crusch-sama."

Cylob: "I can't really say no problem as that would be lying, so I'll say you're welcome."

Felix: "Thank you... really." He wipes his face. "Though you say it was a problem and yet you got out of that fight pretty unscathed."

Cylob: "What makes you say that? I got absolutely destroyed back there."

Felix: "Your clothes are undamyaged. Even if you can regenyerate yourself, your clothes can't regenyerate themselves."

Cylob: "Oh. Well, you see, my clothes have some kind of spell on them, which makes it so that whenever I pour mana into it, it fixes itself."

He looks at me with the most dumbfounded expression ever.

Felix: "...WHAT?!"

Cylob: "Is it really that surprising? Aren't there other clothes with spells?"

Felix: "Yes there are, but whenyever the clothes get damaged the spell does too! And here you are, saying that your clothes have a spell on thyem, that works even if the clothes get severely damyaged?!"

Cylob: "Umm...Yes?"

Felix: "Who myade your clothes?!"

Cylob: "I don't remember how I got them, so I don't know who made them."

Felix: "YOU... *sigh* you knyow what? Just forget about it. Getting surprised by you is just a waste of enyergy at this point."

I wanted to laugh nervously at that statement.

Cylob: "I guess you're right..." I scratch my head.

He turns back at Crusch.

...

And then with renewed determination looks back at me.

Felix: "Tell me about the Archbishops."

Cylob: "Do you want the 100% confirmed info or my speculations?"

Felix: "First, the 100%. After that, your speculations."

Really? Both? *sigh* This is gonna take so much time.

Cylob: "First of all I'm going to talk about Gluttony. It has been confirmed that he has the ability to erase his targets memories. There are also some people who we can't remember at all, suggesting that Gluttony has the same ability as the Whale's fog. All of the people we've forgotten have become a sleeping beauty. Gluttony has extreme skill, physical, magical and deductive capabilities, but nothing with his power is out of the possible norm, suggesting that he got his abilities through training and no other methods. That's everything that's confirmed about Gluttony."

Felix: "Got it." He nods.

Cylob: "Next we have Greed. Greed has a powerful and invisible force that can easily shred anything it comes in contact with. Any normal attacks don't have any effect on him, as he wraps himself with this invisible force, making him untouchable. He can also wrap other objects and people with this force. Unfortunately that's all we have on Greed."

After hearing my explanation of Greed, Felix put on a more stressed look.

Yeah, Regulus is just that OP, my guy. We're lucky his personality is easy to take advantage of.

Felix: "...What about your speculations?"

Cylob: "Remember that this is just speculation and not 100% factual, but after observing them and their abilities, this is what I came up with."

Time to go super cool mode.

Cylob: "First of all - Gluttony. He has two main abilities. First one is the ability to eat his targets memories, thus abtaining all of them for himself. So he gets the knowledge, the skill, the techniques and the experiences of his target."

Felix put on a thinking expression.

Felix: "That would explain a lot. But why do you thyink like that?"

Cylob: "Instead of saying 'I' he always says 'we', suggesting that the memories of his targets are influencing him. I also think that it's impossible for anyone to have that many techniques and that much experience in combat."

Felix: "So that's what you nyoticed during your battle with him."

Cylob: "Yes. As for his second ability, it's the ability to make everyone forget his target. When he uses both abilities on a person that person has no one to remember them, not even themselves, so the world just thinks of them as empty shells, which makes them a sleeping beauty."

Felix thinks in silence for a bit.

Felix: "...So you think he can make everynyan forget someone, but that person won't become a sleeping beauty unless he takes their myemories as well?"

Cylob: "Yes." I nod. "Although this is the only one with no evidence, so it's most likely not true."

Felix: "Then how did you come to that conclusion?" He narrows his eyes.

Cylob: "It would make more sense if it was that way." I shrug.

Felix suspiciously eyes me, but quickly gives up.

Felix: "*sigh* Well, it's your speculations I was asking for, so I guess I can't complain."

Felix: "It's nyot like I can get anything from your poker face anyway." He mumbles, not wanting me to hear it.

Well, sorry for that. I hide a lot of emotions regularly even when I don't want to. It doesn't help that I've been getting even more expressionless since coming to this body. I have social anxiety, so I was always afraid of showing my true emotions, as I was afraid of people scorning me for them, so this is the defence mechanism my body came up with. My coming to this body doesn't help that fac-

Felix: "Are you alright?"

That comment brought me back to reality. It seems like I have been standing (e)motionless for quite a while, so Felix got pretty concerned.

Cylob: "Ah, sorry. I got a little bit carried away in my mind. Anyway, next - Greed. He has only one ability. This ability allows him to stop the time of objects he touches, including air and living things."

Felix: "Stop the time of objects?"

Cylob: "That's right. It means that any object he comes in contact with starts ingoring any and all phenomena, including, but not limited to, gravity and friction. This means that the objects he touches keep going at the same speed they were going no matter what, while just flying straight through anything it comes in contact with. This means that he can't be harmed unless an attack has the capability to work outside of time."

Felix: "That's... too powerful! How do you beat someone like that?!"

Cylob: "Most likely he has a weakness that we don't know of. And like I already said: attacks that work outside of time work on him. This means that my ability to send things to a different dimension works on him, as it doesn't care of when it happens, but where."

Felix: "So you can beat him?"

Cylob: "I can't consume him, because he's going to resist. And I'm not even mentioning the fact that he could just run away with impossible speed if he uses his ability on himself. The reason I said that is because if we find some kind of magic that works outside of time, we could beat him."

Al Shamak could probably do it.

Felix lost almost all hope in his eyes, as he understood just how strong Greed was. He looked down at Crusch again.

Felix: "That's..."

I can't stand to see you like this, Ferris. Where did your determination go?

Cylob: "Don't worry. I'm sure that we'll find his weakness and kill him! With Crusch-sama, nothing is impossible!" I said with determined look and a (fake) smile, while giving him a thumbs up.

Talking about death like this, still doesn't sit right with me, even if I know how bad Regulus is. I wonder when and how I will get over this weakness of mine.

Lying to him about Crusch like that is pretty bad, but I have no other way of influencing him.

Felix looked at me with disbelief and looked back at Crusch. After some silence he suddenly stood up, turned to me and with absolute faith said:

Felix: "You're right! Nothing is impossible with Crusch-sama!" He said with a smile.

?: "Nothing is impossible with me? That's quite the belief."

We are in shock at the voice.

Both of us look at Crusch to see that she's now awake.

Felix: "Crusch-sama, you're awake!"

Crusch: "Yes. Although I am incapable of moving most of my body."

Cylob: "It's still good that you're awake tho."

As soon as her gaze lands on me, she starts to scrutinize me.

Cylob "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Crusch: "Are you... sure that you're not a girl?"

...EH?!

Cylob: "What kind of question is that?! Of course I'm sure I'm not a girl!"

Crusch: "Then it was just my imagination."

What's up with her, asking questions like that out of the blue? Did her mind get damaged along with her nerves or something?

Cylob: "What even gave you that idea?"

Crusch: "The las-"

Felix: "I'm here too, you knyow?! Why are both of you ignoring me?!"

Crusch turns to Felix with a reprimanding look.

Crusch: "We were hav-"

Cylob: "No, it's alright, Crusch-sama. Ferris was really worried about you, so his reaction is justified. I think you need some time together, so I'll head out."

I quickly leave the room before anyone can object.

I don't wanna be present during a moment like that.
