In case people don't know what Sonic meant by the Paradox Prism in the previous chapter, that's actually a reference to the TV show Sonic Prime, which has been confirmed to take place in the same continuity as the games.
Chapter 22
Speed Battle
The simulation room was a mess in that broken body parts of Raptures were all over the place, some in flames while some short circuiting, not to mention releasing large amounts of smoke.
The Nikke, Sonic, Mega Man, and Rush relaxed themselves after having taken taken out all the enemies for this simulation. "That as pretty intense for a training session!" commented Mega Man.
"I think it's about the same as simulation rooms back in the Ark," said Epinel.
Sonic said to Red Hood, "That was some nice running speed you have!"
"Thanks, but you're still faster!" Red Hood said to him.
The onlookers of the simulation battle were impressed with what they saw. "Incredible! No one has finished the training this fast since Shadow and Proto Man working together!" said Tails in awe.
"To be fair, there are several of them in there," Amy told him.
Burningum turned to Maxwell, who was looking at the statistics of the battle on several computers at once, and asked her, "How is it, Maxwell?"
"Saying they have experience in combat does not even begin to describe how good they are!" replied Maxwell, looking at the screens. "I also did a body scan of them, and it turns out that none of the ones that look human are human. Mega Man is fully robotic, as well as his dog. The six girls are, simply put, cyborgs. The only organic parts of them are their brains."
"My word! Isn't that just like you?" Burningum said in surprise.
Maxwell nodded. "Yeah… They claim to be from another world, right? I guess it's a small world that there are people out there with the same technology as us… Anyway, as for Sonic, his speed is astounding… He runs at a speed of mach 1.2! That's the same as Shadow!"
"Incredible! I can't believe that there is someone as fast as him!" said Burningum, even more surprised than before. "Are these people really the ones who will help us turn the tides of the battle? I cannot believe it!"
"I guess miracles do happen after all…" said Maxwell in disbelief.
The otherworlders came back into the same room as the others, and Sonic asked, "How'd we do?"
"Impressive! You far exceeded our expectations! I hope you are on our side and won't turn against us..." Knuckles said to them.
Sonic motioned with his hand and said, "Relax! You can't find a nicer guy than me out there!"
"It's understandable that you have doubts about us, and frankly speaking, I'm used to not being trusted by other people," Snow White said to Knuckles. "Regardless, we would still like to show you that we are trustworthy by helping you win this battle, so I would appreciate it if you would give us a chance."
"Say no more! Something tells me that you are indeed trustworthy enough!" Burningum said to them while giving a thumbs up. "I'm even willing to say that you are sent by the heavens to aid us!"
"Wow…! I'm so honored to hear that!" Kilo said from within T.A.L.O.S. with a blushing face. Not that anyone could see it…
"Do not be overconfident just because of your performance and approval from our commander. You are newcomers, so you are in a lower hierarchy than me and therefore should follow my orders," said Omega.
"Someone is arrogant, huh..." commented Red Hood, looking at Omega with narrowed eyes.
"The Omega I know is pretty much like this as well," said Sonic.
"I hereby welcome you to our resistance group!" Burningum said to the otherworlders. "I will quickly spread word about your presence to everyone else. I am sure that one particular person would love to meet you all. Doctor Light, our lead scientist!"
Mega Man was happy to hear this, and Rush barked happily. "Doctor Light! I can't wait to meet him! I wonder if he is the same as the one I know," said Mega Man. "Where is he right now?"
"He's located in a different base of operations. We decided that the entirety of the resistance shouldn't be gathered in one place only, because if Eggman and Wily were to successfully destroy it, then everything would be lost," explained Burningum. "Having multiple locations so that there will be survivors carrying on when one side is lost is more ideal."
"Makes sense," said Snow White with a nod.
"Getting from one place to another isn't easy either, as we need to travel in such a way that they cannot detect us," added Burningum. "Currently, the reason our enemies haven't invaded yet isn't simply because they cannot find us. They cannot see us as well. We have created a cloaking technology that keeps our base hidden from the outside, so no matter how hard they look for us, they will only be seeing uninhabited locations not even suitable for stepping foot on."
"Huh! That's pretty neat!" commented Red Hood.
"Eden has that sort of technology too," said Snow White. "That's how they keep themselves from being found by Raptures."
"The vehicles we use also has the same cloaking technology, but unfortunately, it doesn't work as effectively on moving objects, so those with keen eyes can notice something wrong with the air if they pay attention," said Burningum. "Until a better solution is found, there's not much we can do about this."
"So we'll be risking our lives if we're going to Doctor Light's place?" asked Mega Man.
Burningum nodded. "At normal driving speed, it should take about thirty to forty minutes to get there," said Burningum.
"Well, that's not far at all," said Sonic. "With my running speed, I can get there in a couple of minutes, maybe even less than that!"
"Not everyone can run as fast as you. Not even my hoverboard can go that fast…" Epinel reminded him.
"Don't worry; our vehicles are well equipped for all sorts of danger, and we'll be sending experts with you. As long as you stay inside at all times, nothing will happen. In fact, we have never been attacked while traveling outside using this method before!" said Burningum.
"That sounds comforting at least…" said Kilo.
"In any case, I'll be contacting Doctor Light about your arrival," Burningum said to them.
"I'd like to talk to him too!" Mega Man said to him.
"And I'm sure he would be interested in seeing you folks now too!" said Burningum. He then turned to Maxwell, "Maxwell, contact Doctor Light now."
"On it," replied Maxwell as she began working on her computer to get in contact with Dr. Light.
A few seconds later, an image of a young blonde girl with a ponytail appeared on the screen. "This is the resistance base," said the girl. "Oh hey, Maxwell!"
"Roll!" said Mega Man happily upon seeing his younger sister.
"Roll, is Doctor Light there? There's something we want to talk to him about and show him," Maxwell told Roll.
Roll nodded. "Sure, he's here right now." She then moved away for an old man with a large fluffy beard to come over.
"Hello, Maxwell! You were calling for me?" the old man asked her.
Maxwell then moved aside for Burningum to take over. "Doctor Light! You won't believe what happened today! We met some people who may just be the answer to ending this war once and for all!"
Dr. Light was interested in hearing this. "Oh? What is it?"
"We met some very special people who, wait for it, claim to be from a different universe where certain versions of us exist and have gone through similar experiences too," Burningum told him. "It must be hard to believe, right?
"Really? Interesting! I do find it hard to believe, but I don't think you have any reason to make up such a story to me," said Dr. Light with widened eyes. "Are they there now?"
"Yes, they are here with me, and one of them seems enthusiastic in talking with you," said Burningum before he moved aside for Mega Man to take over.
"Doctor Light!" the robot said with excitement. "It's me, Rock!"
"Are you one of those people Burningum said came from another universe?" Dr. Light asked him.
Hearing the doctor's question made Mega Man feel down a bit, as he had a shred of hope that this Doctor Light was the same one who knew. "Yes, and in my world, you are my creator. I'm a robot you created!" Mega Man told him, trying to hide his sad feeling.
"I see… Somehow, I can tell that you look like something I would create," said Dr. Light while stroking his own beard. "In any case, it is a pleasure to meet you!"
"We plan to head over to your place soon, so I look forward to meeting you in person!" Mega Man told him. "My friends and I will definitely defeat Doctor Wily and Doctor Eggman and save you world. I've defeated the Doctor Wily of my world multiple times already, so I'm confident I can defeat the one here as well!"
"That's great to hear! Hopefully we can end the ambitions of those two at long last and bring back peace to the world!" said a hopeful Dr. Light. "Very well; I await your arrival!"
"I'll be sending them over with the help of Team Chaotix," Burningum said to Doctor Light, and Sonic's ears perked when he heard that name. "
"Be careful. Traveling out there isn't safe, what with our enemies' having eyes and ears everywhere," Dr. Light warned him.
"If things were that hard, I don't think our bases would still be standing now. The fact we are able to hold up to this day means that our attempts at hiding from them is a successful one!" said Burningum confidently.
After the conversation ended, Burningum said to the otherworlders, "All right, let's get you all ready for the transportation. Follow me." Before leaving, he told Maxwell to contact Team Chaotix about this.
Several minutes later, the otherworlders were taken by Burningum and Tails to a garage, where they saw a stylized green truck with a row of spikes lined on top of it and a head that vaguely resembles a crocodile's head.
"You will be using this truck to get to that place," Burningum told them.
"What's with this design…?" asked Epinel with a weird out expression.
"Someone had a lot of fun designing this…" commented Red Hood.
"I don't know, but its overall aesthetics make me think of someone…" said Sonic while rubbing his chin.
"How'd you like the design?" asked someone. The group turned to see a purple chameleon, green crocodile, and a bee walking over to them. The crocodile was the one who spoke. "I personally designed this truck myself! I call it the Big Rig Vector!"
"I still can't get used to how uncreative that name is…" said the bee.
"Team Chaotix! Good to see the version of you here!" Sonic said while waving at them. "You're still called Team Chaotix, right?"
"Yep!" said the crocodile while pointing at himself with a smug look. "You must be those people from another world, right? I'm Vector, second-in-command of Team Chaotic! Espeo the Chameleon here is the leader, and then there's Charmy the Bee. Good to know our team name is universal!"
"Nice to meet you folks!" Charmy said while waving at them.
"We'll be escorting you to Doctor Light's place. Cooperate if you want to make it there alive, because it's dangerous out there," said Espio with his arms crossed.
"I know you guys have what it takes to get the job done, like the folks I know!" said Sonic.
"They're reliable when they need to be, so you can be sure everything will be fine!" Tails told Sonic.
"Right! This baby comes packed with the meanest weapons that are sure to send Egghead and Wily's robots back to their owners in scrapped remains!" said Vector while patting the side of the truck. "They should be glad that we're being merciful by using camouflage to keep ourselves from being seen, because if they see us, they're dead!"
"Even if they see us, you probably won't have to use it too, since you've got us!" said Red Hood with confidence while pointing at herself.
"Right! A hero like me will make sure that nobody else has to fight!" said Laplace.
"If possible, we'd like to avoid confrontation, in fear that such interactions can result in them finding out the location of our bases," said Espio.
"So what exactly do we once we get to Doctor Light?" asked Snow White.
"He has been planning for some time to take down a weapon factory the villains created," replied Burningum. "After I told him about you people, he showed interest in incorporating you into his plan to take down the factory."
"What about Shadow? You guys planning to bust him out?" asked Sonic. "I still have a hard time believing he's caught though…"
"There are plans to rescue Shadow as well, and I'm sure Doctor Light will fill you in on whatever he has planned," Burningum told him.
"Well, then let's go! The sooner we can get this done, the sooner we can save people's lives!" said Laplace.
"I agree, so hop on! We're taking off as soon as possible!" Vector told everyone.
"Wait. I'm going too," said Tails, raising his arm. "I want to get to know you people better, so mind if I tag along?"
"Sure! In fact, I was going to ask if you were going to come along," Sonic happily said to him.
The otherworlders and Tails entered the back of the truck, while Team Chaotix entered the front, with Vector taking the wheel. Burningum wished them good luck before the truck drove down a passage up ahead.
Eventually, a door up ahead opened up, and the truck drove out it and emerged outside. The door behind it closed and revealed that it was part of a mountain, or so it seems...
A small opening appeared on the wall at the front, and Charmy looked out of it and asked, "So what's the version of us like in your world, Sonic? That's your name, right?"
Sonic looked at him and replied, "I'd say more or less the same so far. Are you guys detectives here too?"
"Huh, small world! We are detectives too!" replied Charmy in surprise. "Can't say business is good ever since Eggman and Wily took over... I mean, we are still busy helping the resistance army with stuff, just not the kind that you expect detectives to do..."
"And there's no pay either, though money doesn't really see much use in a world where we are fighting to survive against mad scientists..." said Vector.
"Yep, you guys sound the same all right!" said Sonic. "Don't worry; everything will return to the way it was after we kick Eggman and Wily's butts! I know we can succeed because what is happening right now actually happened back in my world once! Eggman took over the world, and we formed a resistance army to fight back against him and won!"
"Wow! It sounds a lot more comforting after hearing what you said!" said Charmy. "Now I'm sure we can definitely win this battle!"
"You definitely will with me and my friends here! Even though I just met them..." said Sonic.
"In a way, the current state of this world is comparable to ours," said Snow White. "Our world is currently struggling against a powerful enemy force that has been oppressing us for a very long time already."
"One-hundred years or so," said Epinel before blowing a bubble with her gum.
Sonic and Mega Man were surprised to hear this. "One-hundred years?! What's taking you guys so long to deal with them?!" asked the former.
"Raptures are just that tough to deal with, and there is seemingly an infinite amount of them coming from unknown places," replied Snow White. "If we do not find the source and take down whoever is responsible, we will never see peace and freedom from them."
"So Raptures in your world are different?" asked Charmy. "Here, they're just nasty robots created by Eggman and Wily."
"No, we do not know where Raptures come from back in the world, though there is a theory that they are aliens, but nobody knows the truth other than that they have a queen which we have never even seen before..." replied Snow White.
"We even tried going to space to look for her, but things didn't go as planned, so we never went forward with that plan..." added Red Hood.
"Maybe you need more competent people to get the job done. My friends and I have been to space quite a number of times before," said Sonic. "Not trying belittle or offend you, by the way..."
"No offense. Maybe you are right that we are indeed not competent enough if we still haven't saved humanity after a century," said Snow White, sounding a bit bitter.
"Don't worry; humanity has come a long way and created stronger and better Nikke than before, so the tide of the battle will be in our favor soon enough!" said Laplace with confidence.
"Actually, modern day Nikke are generally weaker compared to the ones created centuries ago..." Kilo corrected her from within T.A.L.O.S.
"You can't say that for sure unless we compare with each other through fights!" Laplace told her while waving a finger.
"I'd be happy to take you on in a friendly spar to see who is stronger!" Red Hood said to her.
"We don't need fighting among each other for this meaningless reason," Snow White told them both.
"Why are the newer ones older than the past ones?" asked Mega Man. "There should be a large leap in technology after a century, so shouldn't the newer Nikke be stronger?"
"Because humans are afraid that we would turn against them, and if a Nikke is too powerful, she can easily cause a large amount of damage," replied Epinel. "Which is why newer ones like us are intentionally made weaker than old ones to prevent any form of successful uprising."
"And the older ones would be us," said Red Hood, raising her hand. "I don't know the details because I missed things out when it happened, but I heard that the old Nikke from a century ago were not allowed into the Ark in fear of them turning against humanity due to their overwhelming power."
"I can testify to that and confirm that it is true, because I experienced just that," said Snow White in a tone that implied sadness.
"So you're saying that despite all your efforts of fighting against the Raptures, you're not allowed into a safe haven that was created to protect mankind because they think you will turn against them? That isn't nice!" said Sonic, sounding angry.
Snow White nodded. "That's the truth. Humanity is afraid of our power..."
"Even to this day, Nikke discrimination is still a thing because of the potential danger we can cause if we go out of control, and it's actually quite easy because Nikke can be hacked into and forced to do certain things by Raptures," said Laplace. "I experienced that myself, as embarrassing as it is to say for a hero like me..."
"Sounds like what Doctor Wily does to other people's Robot Masters..." said Mega Man.
Sonic turned to Mega Man and asked him, "How about you? What is your world like?"
"In my world, robots are commonplace," replied Mega Man. "Highly advanced ones that behave like humans like me are known as Robot Masters. We are mainly created to carry out certain tasks, like construction, electrician, woodcutting, and such... I used to be Doctor Light's lab assistant, but when Doctor Wily began trying to take over the world, I asked the former to change me into a combat robot in order to fight him."
"You sound like you have a heart of a hero if you're willing to become something different to fight evil! I like that!" Laplace said to him.
"Yeah, it simply doesn't sit right with me to sit by and do nothing. Furthermore, Doctor Wily stole and reprogrammed Doctor Light's robots that time to do evil," added Mega Man. "Since we're all made by Doctor Light, we're basically siblings, so I felt like I had to do something."
"Geez... Must be hard having to fight your siblings..." said Sonic. "I haven't met Doctor Wily yet, and I don't like him already!"
"Right! He sounds like a terrible person!" said Laplace in agreement.
"He's an unlikeable person all right... Tried taking over the world more than ten times already and still refuses to give up after all those losses..." said Mega Man with a sigh. "Hopefully the one here won't be as stubborn as him."
"Nah, I'd say he's pretty stubborn as well," Charmy told him. "That old man still refuses to go to retirement house even after being busted by Proto Man over and over, and now his persistence finally paid off when he allied with Eggman..."
"Oh, it's gonna be another bust with us here all right!" said Sonic.
As the truck continued driving, Espio looked at the radar on the driver's panel and noticed something. "Vector, stop the truck!" he told the crocodile. "Something's approaching!"
Vector hit the brakes fast, stopping the truck suddenly, and those in the back were tossed on their sides forcefully, except for T.A.L.O.S., who managed to sit firmly in place without moving.
Vector looked around and asked, "Where? What did you see?"
Espio looked around until he saw something up in the air and pointed at it. "Up there!" In the sky was what appeared to be a giant mechanical whale flying through the air.
"Is that...?" said Charmy in surprise.
"Mother Whale...!" said Vector in disbelief.
"Hold still and don't move until it's gone. We can't guarantee it won't see us if we are moving," Espio told him.
Snow White's face appeared at the opening leading to the backside and said, "Mother Whale? That's a Tyrant-class Rapture! It exists here too?!"
"Yeah, it's like an airship that Eggman and Wily use for carrying their troops around, and boy, can it carry a load!" said Vector. "It has enough manpower in there to wipe out an entire city! And don't get me started on the whale itself packing its own firepower!"
The group waited in silence for Mother Whale to disappear from the radar. "Should be all right to keep on moving now," said Espio, looking at the radar.
"Then let's keep on moving. Should take about twenty minutes to get there now..." said Vector as he stepped on the gas pedal.
However, no sooner did they start moving, a truck sped into it from the side, crashing into it hard and sending the whole thing rolling sideways. The truck tilted and tumbled until it was right side up again, and surprisingly, it was in a good condition, save for some scrapes and slight dents. The impact also canceled its optic camouflage, rendering it visible.
The passengers got up from being tossed around, their whole body in pain. "What happened…?!" asked Snow White.
"Are we under attack?!" asked Laplace, pushing the fallen T.A.L.O.S. aside as she got up from underneath it. The robot's head opened, and Kilo crawled out, looking frightened and trembling nonstop.
Team Chaotix were in pain as they tried to return to their senses from experiencing the crash. Looking to the side, they saw a truck that eyes and mouth at its red-colored head. "What the heck?!" said Charmy in shock.
The eyes of the truck was clearly staring at them. It sides suddenly opened up, and several missiles with heads resembling its own were fired at the Big Rig Vector, blasting it. "Gah! What's this guy's problem?!" asked Vector in anger.
"Get out of here now!" Espio loudly said to him.
Vector stepped on the gas pedal and sped away as fast as he could, with the malicious truck going after them. Mega Man looked out the small window on truck's backdoor and saw the truck. "That's the Sisi Truck!" he said in surprise. "I fought that before!"
"Then you know how to deal with it?" Red Hood asked him.
Mega Man looked through his weapon database until he found the weapon he was looking for—Thunder Ball. Choosing that weapon, his body became blue and yellow in an instant, and then he opened the door and took aim at the incoming truck. "Yes, and hopefully it has the same weakness as before!"
He shot electric balls at the Sisi Truck, blasting it in the face. The truck made a pained and almost comical expression when it was hit and zapped by the electric balls. It became angry and let out a roaring sound as it fired more missiles at it.
Mega Man was going to aim at those missiles, but Red Hood and Laplace stepped forward and took care of them with their guns instead. The truck continued to fire more missiles, but the Nikke destroyed them, while Mega Man focused on firing at the truck's head.
After getting blasted multiple times, the Sisi Truck moved to the side so that it was out of Mega Man's line of fire. Not that it stopped him, Red Hood, and Laplace from aiming diagonally to the side at it though…
The Sisi Truck moved faster than before until it was at the side of the Big Rig Vector. "You want a piece of me? Take this, then!" said Vector as he pressed a button that made guns appear from the side of the truck that open fired at the Sisi Truck. The latter was blasted nonstop and forced to move away, but Vector intentionally drove sideways and slammed his truck against it and fired from the guns at point blank.
Sisi Truck was forcefully pushed to the side, just in time to crash into a tall rock that happened to be in the way, though it managed to plow through it. Mega Man, Laplace, and Red Hood continued to fire from their weapons at the truck's head until it caught on fire and smoked severely, not to mentioning losing some of its teeth.
The truck finally slowly down with its body and head on fire, its facing making an almost comical-looking expression as it laid defeat. "Haha! The heroes win again!" said Laplace, laughing while placing down her gun at the side.
The doors at the back of Sisi Truck swung open, and a racing car and a motorcycle came out. The two vehicles sped towards the Big Rig Vector and caught up with it in a matter of seconds, one on each side. "What the?!" said Vector in shock at their presences.
"Turbo Man! Nitro Man!" gasped Espio, looking at the vehicles.
The motorcycle transformed into a humanoid robot—Nitro Man—while jumping into the air. "Time for you to hit the brakes!" he said as he produced a buzz saw in his hand and threw it at one of the tires on his side, slicing through it.
The truck began to loose control after having one of its tires destroyed, and Vector struggled to maintain control over it. The racing car also transformed into a humanoid robot—Turbo Man—and formed fireballs around himself to shoot at the truck. "Think you can outrun us?" he said.
The truck was having a hard enough time trying to hold still with a burst tire, and the fireballs colliding it only made things worse. Vector continued to maintain control of the truck. "Grrr! We're almost there! Hold on tight!" he said.
"We can't go to the base like this! The bad guys will follow us there and find out everything!" Charmy reminded him, to which Espio also agreed.
"Darn it! If these guys want a fight so bad, I'll give them a fight!" said Vector as he drove the truck to the side, in Nitro Man's direction, with the intention of hitting the motorcycle robot.
Nitro Man sped ahead to avoid getting hit and then threw a buzz saw at the wind shield. The buzz saw was aimed at Vector, and it cut through the glass and was about to hit him in the face, but acting quick, Espio leaned forward in front of the crocodile with a kunai in his hand, using it to block the buzz saw and deflecting it out of the truck. Vector also stepped on the brake from his near death experience.
"Finally got you to stop, eh?" asked Nitro Man, to which Vector growled in anger in response.
Turbo Man joined Nitro Man at the side and said, "Look who we ran into! Imagine to our surprise when the Sisi Truck ran into something unseen. Turns out you guys were making yourself invisible the whole time! Didn't know you have this kind of technology."
"Darn it… We were too focused on Mother Whale that we didn't pay attention to another threat approaching on the radar!" said Espio.
"Fine! Now that they're here, we might as well take on them! We can't let them know where we are going!" said Vector as he got out of the truck while flexing one arm. "I'll show them not to mess with the resistance army!"
The other passengers of the truck got out from the backdoor. They looked up ahead and saw Team Chaotix in fighting stances, ready to take on the two Robot Masters. "It's Turbo Man and Nitro Man, enemies I've fought before!" said Mega Man. "They're both known for their speed."
"Oh yeah? Bet they've never seen me before!" said Sonic with interest.
"We should help them!" said Laplace, readying her gun. "A hero never leaves others in trouble!"
"Yeah, I want in on some action too!" said Red Hood.
"Way ahead of you!" said Sonic, and then without saying anything else, he ran up ahead and past Team Chaotix. Turning into a ball, he jumped into the air and struck Turbo Man and Nitro Man in the heads with homing attacks a couple of times before landing behind them, while those two robots fell to the ground.
"What in the world?!" said Turbo Man in shock as he turned to look at Sonic.
"Surprised, eh? Bet ya didn't expect someone as fast as me! Want a race?" taunted Sonic.
"I don't know who you are, but if you want speed, you'll have it and also regret it!" said Nitro Man before producing a saw blade that he threw at the hedgehog, but the latter zipped out of the way and taunted him again before running off. "Argh! I'll get you for this!" He turned into his motorcycle form and went after Sonic.
Sonic ran back to where his allies were, and as Nitro Man went in the same direction, Laplace fired a charged blast of energy at him, knocking him off course and tumbling against the ground in his humanoid form. Nitro Man got up with a look of anger and glared at Laplace, who charged up her gun again. "Time for you to meet your maker, villain!" she said.
Turbo Man ignored Team Chaotix and came over to see what happened and found Red Hood, Snow White, and Mega Man pointing their weapons at him. "It's over, Turbo Man!" said Sonic.
"Stupid resistance! You think you can get away with threatening us? I'll show you why we managed to take over the world!" said Turbo Man in anger before changing into his sports car form.
BGM: Boss Battle (Mega Man 7)
With a loud screech, Turbo Man zoomed towards his three attackers. Snow White and Red Hood fired at him as he approached them, but their shots bounced off him harmlessly, and they leaped away before he ran into them. He changed back into his humanoid form and leaped into the air as fireballs surrounded him, and they were fired at them when he pointed his finger at them.
The good guys dodged the fireballs, and Mega Man fired his Mega Buster at him when he landed, blowing him back. "Ha! You'll have to try harder than that to put a dent on me!" said Turbo Man before creating more fireballs to shoot at him.
The good guys dodged the shots again, and then Turbo Man changed into his car form to speed away from Snow White and Red Hood's gunfire. Mega Man hurriedly searched through his weapon database mentally until he found Noise Crush. Choosing it, his body became blue and purple. When Turbo Man zoomed towards him, he fired a sound wave at him.
Turbo Man felt a powerful vibration that shook his body in a painful way, and he cried in shock and pain as he veered off to the side and struck a rock that caused him to flip over into the air and land upside-down. He changed back to normal and stood back up, facing Mega Man. "What the hell was that?!" he asked in shock and confusion, only to receive another blast of sound wave into his face and blown backwards. "GYAAAAAH!"
"Wow! Looks like this thing is very useful against him!" said Red Hood.
"Noise Crush was the weakness of the Turbo Man I know, and fortunately, things are the same here!" said Mega Man with a smirk.
Nitro Man traveled fast and sped around Laplace, who tried to shoot him, but each shot kept on missing. Eventually, he changed back into his humanoid form and leaped into the air while throwing saw blades at Laplace. She leaped aside to dodge them and continued to fire at Nitro Man, who threw more saw blades, though she blasted them out of the air.
Sonic rushed towards Nitro Man from the side with his body covered in a blue aura, hoping to ram into him, but Nitro Man saw him coming and performed a back flip into the air to avoid it. He turned to Sonic and threw saw blades at him. Sonic dodged a couple and caught one before running back to Nitro Man to throw at him, but the Robot Master dodged it.
Nitro Man changed into his bike form and went after Sonic, who ran and taunted him too, telling him to catch him if he can. The two ran around the place for a few seconds before Sonic leaped towards Nitro Man without a warning and landed on his back, grabbing hold of his handles and taking control of him like an actual motorcycle. "Hey! Get off me!" shouted Nitro Man in anger.
"Can't help it if you're clearly designed for someone to ride on!" said Sonic. The two struggled against each for control on the road, resulting in Nitro Man moving in a wavy and unpredictable manner.
At the side, Team Chaotix watched the madness going on with dumbfounded expressions, and Vector said with envy, "I always wanted to try riding him…"
Sonic and Nitro Man continued to fought for control over the latter's movement. When Sonic saw T.A.L.O.S. standing up ahead, he smirked as he steered Nitro Man in that direction before jumping away. "Finally!" said Nitro Man in regards to Sonic finally leaving him, only to find himself moving towards T.A.L.O.S., who open fired from her arm cannon at him rapidly. Nitro Man screamed in pain as the bullets tore through his body and sent him tumbling backwards.
Nitro Man got up with a wounded body, and he looked to the side and saw Laplace firing a fully charged energy blast at him. Nitro Man screamed as he got blasted high into the air, and then Sonic curled up into a ball and launched himself at him at fast speed, striking him with such a force that he shattered him into pieces.
KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Sonic landed at about the same time the pieces of Nitro Man's body parts rained down onto the ground. Striking a pose, Sonic said, "I'm still faster!" He then turned to Laplace and T.A.L.O.S. and thanked them for their help.
Surrounding himself with fireballs that circled around his body at a fast speed, Turbo Man pointed his fingers at Red Hood, Snow White, and Mega Man to shoot the fireballs at them one after another, but they were able to dodge them.
Taking aim at his eyes, or visor or, shades… Red Hood pulled her trigger, but Turbo Man moved out of the way to avoid the gunshot. Turbo Man fired another fireball at her, but she dodged it before running towards him while firing from her gun multiple times, though each shot was avoided by Turbo Man sidestepping constantly at a fast speed.
Red Hood ran up to him and swung her sniper rifle like a bludgeon at him, to which he caught it with both hands. Red Hood grunted as she ran and pushed as hard as she could to push him backwards, and he was caught off guard by her strength.
"Don't get too full of yourself!" said Turbo Man before changing into his car form and then rushed forward, knocking Red Hood into the air and landing on her back.
Snow White fired at the transformed Turbo Man, but her gunshots were also a step behind, hitting the air and ground behind him instead. Turbo Man turned towards Snow White and rushed in her direction. This time, Snow White was able to land her shots on him, but they seemingly did no harm to Turbo Man as he continued pressing on towards her. Snow White got out of the way when Turbo Man was about to hit her, but he instantly steered in her direction and was able to ram into her, knocking her back into the air.
Snow White tumbled onto the ground violently and dropped her gun at the side. She hurriedly crawled over to it to pick it up, while Turbo Man sped towards her with the intention of running over her. However, his attempt was thwarted by Mega Man firing Noise Crush at him from the side and sending him spinning away. Mega Man went over to help Snow White up, and then the latter picked up her gun. "You all right?" Mega Man asked her, and she nodded in response.
"Now you've really done it!" said Turbo Man in anger while still in his car form. His entire body was then covered in fire as he spun his wheels in place, creating a loud screeching sound as a result. "I'm going to give you all the most painful roadkill you've ever experienced!" He then sped off towards them faster than before, leaving behind a trail of fire that burned nonstop.
Snow White and Mega Man took their stances and watched as the Robot Master moved around them in a complete circle, creating a fiery wall that blocked their way out. He then zoomed through the fire wall and tried to run into one of them, but they reacted in time and got out of the way. Turbo Man drove out of the fire wall on the other side, only to come back in from a different location to try to hit them again.
This kept up over and over, and the two trapped within the fiery circle couldn't find the opportunity to fight back or escape.
As Turbo Man attempted again, he was shot in the side by a blast of orange energy and sent spinning away. He turned and saw Red Hood with her sniper rifle pointed at him. "You're next!" he said before speeding towards her. Red Hood fired multiple blasts of orange energy at him, but he moved side to side to avoid them while heading towards her.
Red Hood leaped over Turbo Man when he was about to hit her, and as she was flying over him, she aimed downwards and fired. Turbo Man cried in pain as he got struck from above and came to a halt after skidding forward a bit. He changed back into his humanoid form and turned around just in time to see Red Hood dashing into him at a fast speed, using her sniper rifle to push him back by the neck.
She pushed him all the way over to the Sisi Truck that was still in the same place it crashed into. Pinning Turbo Man against the side of the truck, Red Hood pressed her sniper rifle's turret against his body and fired multiple times.

After firing several times, Red Hood backed away, while Turbo Man grunted in pain with a large hole on his body. "You… Why you…?!" he said in anger as he reached out his hands and limped in her direction. Red Hood gave him one final shot to the face, blowing a hole on it and finally destroying him.
Red Hood blew away smoke that was coming out from the turret of her gun just as Sonic ran over to her. Looking at the destroyed Turbo Man, he said, "You got him? Nice! We just finished our opponent over there!"
"These guys weren't much, to be honest," said Red Hood. "Or maybe we're just too good!"
"I'd say we are indeed good!" Sonic said to her with a thumbs up.
Meanwhile, Mega Man switched to a water-based weapon he calls Water Balloon and used it to put out the fire created by Turbo Man.
Team Chaotix had witnessed the whole thing and were in awe. "Wow! They defeated Turbo Man and Nitro Man! I can't believe it!" said Vector in disblief.
"That was totally awesome!" exclaimed Charmy.
"It seems that their skills are the real deal after all! Surely we will be able to turn the tides of this war with them on our side!" commented an impressed Espio.
The good guys went up to Team Chaotix, and Laplace asked with a proud look, "How'd we do? Awesome and heroic, right?"
"You guys are indeed totally awesome! I have never seen such an awesome fight before!" explained Charmy.
"I'd be lying if I say I wasn't impressed. You surpass what I heard about you," said Espio.
"You really think so? You almost make it sound like none of you have any combat experience like this… No offense…" said Epinel.
"You didn't do anything at all…" Laplace said to her.
Epinel looked at her and said, "It didn't look like I had to do anything anyway…"
"That's impressive and all, but we should keep on going," suggested Vector. "Being out here too long isn't good, lest anyone see us. C'mon, let's head over to Doctor Light's place now!"
Everyone agreed and then returned to the Big Rig Vector, which continued on its way down the path, leaving behind the broken remains of Nitro Man and Turbo Man.
