Chapter 25
Weapon Factory

The weapon factory was the same as Prison Island. The bad guys built the place to prevent teleporting there directly, so the team heading there had no choice but to teleport to a nearby area and then approach there on foot. It took several minutes to finally get to the top of a cliff that overlooked the factory building.

"That's the place we are heading for," said Proto Man

"It's big…" commented Kilo, noting the size of the facility.

"That makes its destruction all the more satisfying!" said Bomb Man.

"So we have to get inside and find and destroy the main reactor, right?" asked Snow White.

Proto Man nodded. "Yes, according to our intel, the reactor is an important part of the building, and if it is destroyed, it will start a chain reaction that will eventually result in the building's destruction. Therefore, we have a limited amount of time to escape before we get caught in it."

Snow White lowered her visor over her eyes and used its zoom-in function to get a better look at the place. She saw several robots guarding the entrance, and there were some walking around the rooftops and balconies of the building as well.

"Look over there!" said Mega Man suddenly while pointing at the air. Everyone looked into the air and saw something flying towards the building and landing on the rooftop.

Snow White looked with her visors and saw that it was a skull-shaped spaceship, and Dr. Wily stepped out of its cockpit and was greeted by the various robots outside. "It's Doctor Wily!" she said.

"Doctor Wily?!" said Mega Man in shock.

"Huh, looks like one of the big men decided to make a visit to the place himself!" said Proto Man.

"All right! Not only do we get to blow up this place, we also get to get Wily himself!" said Bomb Man in excitement.

"Wily being here is indeed a golden opportunity. If possible, let's capture him alive, but if he dies, then so be it," said Proto Man.

"Your programming doesn't stop you from hurting humans?" Mega Man asked Proto Man and Bomb Man, and both gave no as a response.

"Pilgrim Nikke like me also aren't programmed to not kill humans, so if I decide to pull the trigger on Wily, I can and perhaps will," said Snow White.

"All right, let's move according to our plan," said Proto Man.

"How do we get inside?" asked Kilo.

Proto Man was thinking up of an answer when they saw a truck traveling underneath the cliff they were on. He wasted no time in telling everyone to get onto that truck, so they scrambled to the bottom of the cliff, which wasn't too hard because it was more of a slope and not a straight drop. After getting to the bottom, they got in front of the truck and stopped it from moving before taking out the Sniper Joe driving inside it.

Proto Man took the driver's seat but kept the destroyed Sniper Joe next to him as he drove towards the factory, while the others hid in the container at the back. Approaching a warehouse-style door at one side of the factory, Proto Man used the Sniper Joe's eye as visual recognition to open up the door, allowing the truck to drive inside.

Once inside, he got out alongside the others. "That was easy," said Snow White.

"Guess the author didn't want things to be too complicated," said Bomb Man, breaking the fourth wall.

They continued together deeper into the factory and saw several machines working on and creating various types of robots. "Look at all those robots…! There's got to be an an entire army in the works here!" said Mega Man in awe.

"All the more reason we have to get this place destroyed," said Proto Man.

"What about Wily? We saw here coming here, didn't we?" Bomb Man asked him.

"Right, we should go after him as well," replied Proto Man. "Bomb Man and Kilo, you both go after the reactor and destroy it. Mega Man and Snow White will go with me after Wily."

"Sounds good to me," said Snow White with a nod.

"We should be able to tell if the reactor is destroyed and this place begins to fall apart, so we'll escape through the same place when that happens," said Proto Man.

Agreeing to this plan, everyone spread out in his or her designated team to carry out the necessary tasks.

Bomb Man and Kilo traveled through the factory together. The place was for the most part automated, with the machines doing everything by themselves, so there weren't much staff members overlooking things. They occasionally saw some Mettaurs and Egg Pawns walking around, but they were easily taken care of before they could warn the others about intruders.

"This is too easy," said Bomb Man. "Those bad guys are underestimating us, thinking that just because they managed to take over the world, nobody will think of sneaking into their place and mess things up! They'll never know what hit them!"

"Still, I get the feeling something bad will happen soon…" said a nervous Kilo.

"My radar has detected the presence of something potentially hostile approaching," said T.A.L.O.S.

"Probably just another lackey that we can blow up in a blink of an eye," said Bomb Man.

"Is that what you think of me?" asked a voice. Out from the corner, a purple robot with hands resembling missile launcher stepped out. "I thought you had more respect for me!"

"Hostile detected," said T.A.L.O.S., getting her arm cannon ready.

"Napalm Man!" said Bomb Man in surprise.

"Surprised to see me? You shouldn't be, because who better to keep watch over a weapon factory than someone who is an expertise in weapons?" said Napalm Man.

"Who is that?" asked Kilo.

"He's a Napalm Man, a Robot Master created by Wily and made to be in charge of various types of weapons…" replied Bomb Man. "Of course, he himself is a powerful weapon!"

"Then you should know that the moment I appeared before you, you're toast! Get ready to be destroyed by the weapon of mass destruction that is me!" said Napalm Man.

BGM: Boss Battle (Rockman Complete Work 5)

Napalm Man fired multiple missiles at T.A.L.O.S., who created an energy shield to block the shots. When Napalm Man stopped firing, T.A.L.O.S. disabled the shield and fired from her arm cannon, and Napalm Man slid out of the way on his tank threads and fired missiles again, blasting T.A.L.O.S. a few times before the latter could put up a shield to block them.

Inside, Kilo was shaken by the impact of the missiles. "T.A.L.O.S.! Are you all right?" she asked her robot in concern.

"I am fine," replied T.A.L.O.S. while trying to shoot constantly moving Napalm Man.

"It won't be long before your condition turns bad!" said Napalm Man.

"Eat this!" shouted Bomb Man as he threw a black ball at Napalm Man. In response, the latter turned to the incoming bomb and blew it up with his firepower.

"You call that a bomb? I'll show you what a real bomb is!" said Napalm Palm before shooting cylinder-shaped Napalm Bombs into the air and towards Bomb Man, who ran out of the way. Bomb Man continued to throw bombs at Napalm Man, who got out of their way as well as T.A.L.O.S.'s gunfire. "Haha! You think you can overwhelm me? I've taken down armies before all by myself! How are the two of you going to stand a chance?"

"Don't underestimate T.A.L.O.S.! You've never fought anyone like her before!" Kilo angrily said to him.

"Oh yeah? Show me what your tin can with legs can do!" taunted Napalm Man before firing at T.A.L.O.S.

T.A.L.O.S. put up a shield to defend against the onslaught of missiles fired by Napalm Man. The Robot Master attacked relentlessly nonstop, not giving T.A.L.O.S. an opening to shoot back. Her shield was constantly getting hit and starting to reach its limits, which Kilo was able to tell from a screen inside.

"I'll show you who the real tin can is!" said Bomb Man as he produced and threw several bombs at Napalm Man at once. The latter turned to the incoming bombs and fired several missiles to blow them up while they were still in the air. Bomb Man took advantage of this distraction to kick and roll a bomb across the floor in his direction, which Napalm failed to notice.

The bomb blew up at his feet and sent him back into the air, and he landed on his back. T.A.L.O.S. lowered her shield and used this opportunity to fire at Napalm Man, blasting him nonstop. Napalm Man cried in pain as he struggled to get up in the midst of getting shot, and after doing so, he moved away fast while firing missiles at T.A.L.O.S. that she was able to avoid.

While Napalm Man was attacking T.A.L.O.S., Bomb Man ran to him from the side, taking advantage of the former's inability to see directly to his side. Using his large, round body, Bomb Man rammed into Napalm Man with a frontal body slam, pushing in away. He then produced and threw a bomb at Napalm Man, blasting him back even farther.

"Take this! And this! And this!" said Bomb Man as he threw bombs nonstop, blasting Napalm Man and everywhere around him.

"Argh!" Napalm Man cried as he tried to avoid the bombs and get out of the way, but the explosions and smoke were blotting his view and keeping him from getting away safely. Knowing that he couldn't stay in one place forever, lest he face destruction, he took the risk of charging out of the explosions and towards Bomb Man.

He rammed into Bomb Man and pushed him back before blasting him with some missiles. Bomb Man fell back, but endured the explosives with a smirk on his face. "You'll have to use bigger bombs than that if you want to beat me!" he said before lunging at Napalm Man and slamming into him. Bomb Man took out a bomb and shoved it against Napalm Man's face, shoving him even farther back and letting it explode at point blank.

Napalm Man was badly damaged by the explosion and blown back with his body smoking and short circuiting badly. "Curses! How can I lose in terms of firepower?!" he said in anger. "If I'm going down, I might as well go all out before I breathe my last!"

He began firing in every direction, causing damage to the place, as if it wasn't damaged enough by their fight earlier already. T.A.L.O.S. activated her shield and ran at Napalm Man, ramming into him and pushing him back against a wall. Deactivating her shield, T.A.L.O.S. thrust her arm cannon against Napalm Man's body and open fired rapidly, blasting him at point blank and tearing apart his body.

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!

Napalm Man exploded, while T.A.L.O.S. slid back, and when the explosion left, all that was left of Napalm Man were scrap metals lying around the place. "Enemy neutralized," said T.A.L.O.S.

"Great job, T.A.L.O.S.!" said Kilo happily.

"Wow! That was an awesome! You really made him go out with a blast!" Bomb Man said in awe to them.

"Heehee! That's T.A.L.O.S. for you! Always reliable when you need her too!" said Kilo happily.

"Our battle likely has attracted the attention of more enemies, as my radar is sensing more presence approaching," said T.A.L.O.S.

"As much as I like to give them a good bombing, we really should be heading for the reactor to destroy it," suggested Bomb Man. "C'mon, let's go!"

The group then hurried away out of the place.

The group consisting of Mega Man, Proto Man, and Snow White entered a large room full of assembly lines creating various kinds of robots, among them being Raptures. Seeing the Raptures being created filled Snow White with anger, so much that she stated wanting to destroy them.

"Don't get too reckless. It's true that we want all these destroyed, but we should stick with the plan," Proto Man told her when he heard her statement.

"I know… It's just that Raptures have been a plague to humanity in my world, and even though these Raptures aren't the same ones and may not even have the same origins, it still angers me to know that someone is creating them here…" said Snow White.

"Things would've been easy to deal with if you know where Raptures come from back in our world…" said Mega Man.

The trio made their through the place quietly and carefully so as not to get spotted by random robot workers that were around the place, inspecting things. They eventually saw Dr. Wily chatting with some Sniper Joes, Egg Pawns, and Mettaurs about the robots that were being created.

The three listened for a bit and then decided to make themselves known. Stepping out from their hiding places and pointing their weapons at Dr. Wily and the robots, Mega Man said, "Don't move, Wily!"

Wily looked at them with a shocked face and said, "What the?! Proto Man?! The resistance army?! When did you get in here?!"

"The jig's up, Wily. Come with us quietly if you want to live," Proto Man told the evil scientist.

"And halt production on these robots as well!" added Snow White.

"Hmph! You think I'm afraid of you? You've entered the wrong house, fools!" said Dr. Wily in anger. He ordered the robots he was talking to to attack them, and while the latter went after the good guys, the scientist himself fled the place.

Proto Man used his shield to block the shots of the robots while rushing up to them. At close range, he was able to take them out with swift punches and kicks, as well as blasting them at point blank. Just by himself, he was able to take them all out. He then turned to Wily and aimed and fired at the spot on the floor just behind his feet, creating an explosion that knocked him over.

Dr. Wily tried to crawl back up and run away, but the good guys caught up with him and surrounded him. "It's over, Wily! You're not going anyway!" Mega Man angrily said to him.

"Fools! You will regret this!" said Dr. Wily as he took out a ray gun from underneath his lab coat and threatened them, only to be shot in the head by Snow White, much to the shock of the other two.

"What the?!" said Mega Man. "You killed him!"

"He threatened us, so I did what was necessary," replied Snow White with a deadpan expression.

However, the good guys did not see blood coming out from the wound on the scientist's head. Instead, there was electricity, and mechanical components were seen inside his wound. Suddenly, Dr. Wily's head popped off from the body and was connected to it via a spring, like a jack-in-a-box. "It's a fake!" said Proto Man in surprise.

"Hahaha! You'd think I would be a fool to expose myself to you so recklessly, especially after being told that you entered this place?" said a voice. The good guys looked around and saw a flying television screen flying towards them, and Dr. Wily was shown on it. "You thought you managed to sneak in without getting seen? Too bad you were spotted by well hidden cameras!"

"Doctor Wily! You won't get away with this!" said Mega Man in anger.

"As a matter of fact, I can get away with this and have been doing so for a long time already!" replied Dr. Wily. "Now that you're here, perhaps I should treat you to something that has just been created!"

After saying that, a door at one side of the room opened, and a large Rapture with two sets of turrets on each side and a pair of chains hanging down from the front of it walked out. "A Lord-class Rapture!" gasped Snow White.

"Rebuilt Spooky would like to play, so be sure to keep it company!" said Dr. Wily as the flying screen ascended higher into the air.

BGM: Boss (Sonic Rush Adventure)

Rebuilt Spooky fired an onslaught of bullets at the good guys, who got out of the way. They leaped behind assembly lines and occasionally looked up to fire at the Rapture before ducking to avoid again.

Proto Man held up his shield and ran towards Rebuilt Spooky, who fired at him nonstop, but his shield blocked all the shots. Proto Man ran up close to the Rapture and slammed his shield against its core to push it back before firing a blast of plasma energy at it, sending it back even more.

Mega Man and Snow White got out from their hiding places and joined in on shooting the Rapture. After getting shot several times, Rebuilt Spooky jumped out of the way and landed in another part of the room, landing on some immobile Raptures and crushing them underneath. From there, the Lord-class Rapture fired laser beams from each of its turrets, creating explosions at whatever they hit.

Mega Man and Snow White dodged the beams, while Proto Man used his shield for defense, but the power of the beam that struck him was so great that the explosion generated blew him backwards, even if his shield managed to block him from the blast.

Mega Man's colors became blue and orange, and he fired missiles that remained in place for a second before piercing through the air at a fast speed, hitting Rebuilt Spooky and exploding. The Rapture recoiled the most when it was shot in the core, which cracked.

Snow White pointed her gun at the Rapture, and small ports opened up on the sides of her gun, from which small missiles came out and homed in on the Rapture. Despite their size, the small missiles' explosion size was quite intense and nearly engulfed the Rapture.

Rebuilt Spooky began acting crazy. Charging up its turrets, it fired and swept laser beams across the place, setting ablaze to anything it hit and causing a large amount of destruction. Snow White avoided the beams and said, "You're going to destroy this place! Not that we mind…"

"This place is more durable than you think, and losing these robots isn't a big issue! We can just build more!" replied Dr. Wily from the flying screen.

As Rebuilt Spooky continued to fire laser beams all over the place and gradually setting the place on fire, Mega Man's colors became light green and white as he generated multiple diamonds that circled around his body nonstop. "Jewel Satellite!"

With those diamonds orbiting him, he ran towards Rebuilt Spooky as the Rapture fired its beams at him. The diamond shield protected Mega Man from the beams, even if they did not come in direct contact with the jewels. Due to the refractive nature of diamonds, the beams were scattered in various directions when they collided with the diamond shield, thus allowing Mega Man to push forward without getting hurt.

Jumping towards Rebuilt Spooky, Mega Man tossed the entire set of diamonds at it in a scattered manner, hitting each of the laser turrets, with some of them getting lodged into the openings. When the Rapture attempted to fire again, the diamonds blocked the laser beams from coming out and instead caused the turrets to blow up, dealing critical damage to the Rapture.

The Rapture was badly damaged and short circuited as it struggled to stand still. Snow White and Proto Man both fired charged shots from their weapons at it, destroying it for real.

KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

"We did it!" exclaimed Mega Man, punching the air.

"Argh! I can't believe this!" said Dr. Wily in frustration from the screen. "But don't get too cocky! That was the easy one! I'll just send more after you! Where do you think you are in currently?"

However, the siren went off suddenly, much to the surprise of anyone. A computerized voice then warned everyone that the place was going to blow up due to reactor damage. "The reactor…! They did it!" said Snow White.

"What the?! What happened?!" said Dr. Wily in disbelief. In his room, he turned to a computer and saw that the main reactor of the place had been destroyed.

"And that's that!" said Bomb Man, looking at the destroyed remnants of the factory's reactor.

All around him were the remains and empty shells of various robots that he and Kilo fought in order to get to the reactor, including a giant Mettaur. Though the enemies numbered greatly, the two were still able to defeat all of them.

"We… We did it!" said Kilo happily.

"This place will not hold on for long," said T.A.L.O.S. "Evacuation is a must right now."

"Yeah, that part is obvious," said Bomb Man. "C'mon, let's get out of here! I'm sure the others must have gotten the message by now!"

Mega Man and Rush, Snow White, and Proto Man obviously got the message and began fleeing the place. As for Dr. Wily, he scrambled to pack his stuff before rushing for his Wily Capsule that he parked on the rooftop to get out of the place as fast as he could.

"Darn those resistance army! I'll get them back for this!" said the evil scientist as he jumped into his ride before taking off as fast as he could.

Down below, the good guys escaped together using the same truck they used to enter the factory in the first place. Proto Man drove as far as he could so that when the factory blew up behind him, they were at a safe distance and didn't get caught in the blast.

KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

"All right! That's what I call a demolition gone right!" said Bomb Man in excitement. He was standing at the back of the container, which had its door open.

"We did it!" said Kilo happily.

"I'm sure the others will be happy to know that we managed to destroy the factory!" said Mega Man happily.

To this day, I still have no idea what Sonic Rush Adventure's boss theme's lyrics are and keep on hearing "gotta fuck it..."
