Cylob-kyun is actually training nyow, huh.
I thought as I was looking out the window, watching Wilhelm and Cylob train.
Crusch: "Surprised by his change after the trip?"
Felix: "You could say so. He wasn't even trying to actually train befyore, just acting like he was. But nyow he's actually taking it seriously."
Crusch: "I was also surprised by his change in demeanor when he arrived. His face and actions weren't all that different, but his eyes clearly underwent a change. Not that the change was only good."
True. His eyes now have hidden guilt in them.
Felix: "But to think that he would propose something as outrageous as using Yang enhancemyent while fighting at the same time. That's like doing two completely different things at the same time."
Crusch: "True. It is extemely difficult. But that doesn't mean impossible. If there were more people who were compatible with Yang magic, we might've already gotten somebody who could do something like that."
Still... the difficulty is comparable to juggling four balls and avoiding constantly appearing spikes underneath you feet at the same time.
Felix: "I wyonder what happened for him to change him like this."
Crusch: "The village he stayed in was attacked by mabeasts and Gluttony, that could be one of the reasons. But if you want to know more it's just better to ask him. He's just a kid after all..." She says with a melancholic tone.
Felix: "Don't be sad! He's forgiven you, hasn't he?" I hug Crusch.
Crusch: "I know... but whenever I remember the face I forced him to make... I can't feel proud of myself. And after that incident, even though I didn't try to mend my relationship with him and didn't do anything good for him, he still saved me from the Archbishops. *sigh* There's only one person besides him, that is stupid enough to not hate someone who did him wrong."
I release Crusch from my hug and put a finger on my lips.
Subaru-kyun, huh.
Felix: "They are pretty similar, huh."
Crusch: "The more I compare the both of them, the more similarities I notice. They both care about people close to them and will do anything to help them. They have an extreme aversion to death. They want and/or do impossible things. And they don't seem to hold themselves in high regard. The biggest difference is the fact that... Subaru is more mature, while Cylob acts more mature."
...
Felix: "...I wonder if I'll knyow more about their similarities if I ask Cylob-kyun."
Crusch: "You probably will. He doesn't hide anything, and I've never heard him say: "I'd rather not discuss it"."
Felix: "Then I'll try jyust that!"
.▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒.
Felix: "Hey Cylob-kyun!"
Cylob: "Hm? Wadup?"
Felix: "Is it jyust me or are your greetings getting shorter and shorter everytime?"
Cylob: "Yes they are. And that means that I'm getting more and more comfortable here."
Felix: "It's good that you're getting more comfortable... Can I ask you a question?"
Cylob: "Sure, go for it."
Felix: "Do you knyow why Subaru-kyun and you are so alike?"
I could see his eyebrows rising ever so slightly and then quickly falling back down.
At first I thought that he didn't show any emotions, but then I started noticing that his eyebrows change depending on his mood.
The fact that his eyebrows rose, meant that he was surprised, even if only for a little bit.
Cylob: "I'd... rather not discuss it." He didn't seem uncomfortable or sad at that question, so it was probably just a secret of his.
For some reason I feel like I heard that somewhere before... wait-
Felix: "Is that what you call triggering a flag?!"
Cylob raised one of his eyebrows at me.
Cylob: "What do you mean by that?"
Felix: "Before I came to talk to you, Crusch-sama said: "I've never heard him say: "I'd rather not discuss it"." and right now is the first time you do!"
Cylob: "Heh, that is kinda funny." He had the smallest smile on his face.
Felix: "Still, it's surprising."
Cylob: "What is?"
Felix: "You've told us a bunch of things, but as soon as the topic is Subaru you either go completely silent or get extremely... how do you say it, haipt."
Cylob: "It's hyped, but well... there are things that I don't think I'm supposed to know, so I don't talk about them to anybody else either."
Felix: "What kind?"
Cylob: "I just said that I don't talk about them, and the first thing you ask is what they are? You serious?"
Felix: "Sorry, sorry. I was just curious about what you mean by 'things you shouldn't know'."
Cylob puts on a more serious expression and looked down. He sat in silence for a bit before finally speaking, without shifting his attention from the floor or showing any kind of expression.
Cylob: "...You were locked away for the first nine years of your life, because of a physical trait you had, before Crusch came to rescue you. After that you said you would 'exchange' your boyhood with her. Then you were asked to join the royal guard where you were became friends with Reinhard and Julius. Does that seem like a thing that I should know?"
Felix: "It's not something secret or anything."
Cylob: "I know, but I've only known you and everyone else for two months. The problem is that most of the things I shouldn't know are about Subaru. So while I only know a little bit about your life, I know a lot about Subaru's."
Felix: "Is that... some kind of Divine Protection?"
Cylob: "Most likely not."
Silence followed.
...
Then he suddenly started hitting himself on the head. I tried to stop him, but he stopped before I could.
Cylob: "Forget I ever said anything. It was just a madman's delusions."
He stood up and started walking away.
Is he... frustrated? I've never seen him act like this. And he even called himself a madman.
But the fact that he knows so much is strange. He's definitely not normal.
.▓▒░▒▓▒░▒▓▒░▒▓▒░▒▓▒░▒▓.
This potato doesn't look that bad.
I turn to Rem.
Subaru: "This one is good, right?"
Rem: "Yes. Congratulations Subaru-kun. You did it on your third try." She said with a smile.
Subaru: "I can't tell whether you're praising or belittling me!"
I was trying to pick which products look good by sight and was mostly failing.
Subaru: "*sigh* Well, atleast I got something right. Can you please pick the rest tho? I don't want to spend 3 hours in the market."
Rem: "Of course, Subaru-kun."
She started picking them faster than me by ten times.
Just how good is she at maid stuff?!
After paying the gentleman we were about to go somewhere else when Rem stopped moving.
Subaru: "Hm? What happened?"
Rem: "I smelt someone. Can we go meet him?"
Subaru: "Of course! But who is it?"
Rem: "Cylob-san. I still haven't thanked him for saving me."
Subaru: "Cylob, huh."
If I remember correctly, he looked like a girl, didn't he? Must suck to be him. Now that I think about it, I don't know much about him. Maybe this is a chance to learn more about him.
We walk through the streets before seeing familiar long cyan hair.
Rem walks up to him, while I stay a small distance away from them.
Rem: "Cylob-san."
Cylob: "Hm?" He turns to Rem "Rem...-san. What are you doing here?"
Rem: "There's no need to use honorifics with me, Cylob-san."
Cylob: "Then there's no need to use them with me either."
Rem: "I'm afraid that's not possible. Our-"
Cylob: "For your knowledge: I'm a literal nobody. I'm not a knight, and I'm not a noble either. I'm just an average citizen. So you, who are the caretaker of the person who beat a Sin Archbishop and two Great Mabeasts, technically have a higher position than me."
She's left speechless at such words.
Rem: "...I understand. You are kind."
Cylob: "Maybe... whatever. Let's get back to the reason you approached me."
Rem: "I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart." She bowed.
His eyes widened.
Cylob: "That's... unexpected. Tho it does make sense if I think about it. I accept your thanks with gratitude."
She straitened her posture and with a smile said:
Rem: "Thank you."
Cylob: "If a cute girl like you keeps saying that, I will fall in love with you, you know?" He says without a change of expression. "Actually, while we're on the topic of love, where is your lover? Did you go out by yourself? And now that I think about it, why are you even in the capital?"
Subaru: "You're speaking fast, you know that? I can barely keep up with you. So if you want to ask questions, ask them a little bit slower please!" I put my hands together in a pleading expression.
Cylob: "Ah, Suba-" He stops.
He starts scrutunizing me from head to toe. I couldn't tell his emotions, but the stare wasn't hard to notice.
Subaru: "Can you please stop looking at me like that?! I almost feel like you're undressing me!" I cover myself with my hands.
Cylob snaps from his stupor at my comment.
Cylob: "A-ah sorry. You just... reminded me of something." His face didn't show any emotion, so I couldn't tell whether he was really sorry.
That emotionless face could be a problem.
Subaru: "May I ask what I reminded you of?"
Cylob: 'Already influenced? Dammit.' I could see his mouth moving, but I didn't catch what he said. "Something... bad. I don't want to talk about it." He scratched his head.
Subaru: "I see..." He's withholding information.
Subaru: "I'm still surprised that you have such a distinct smell tho."
Cylob: "What do you mean by that?"
Subaru: "Rem could smell you from a long distance. Right Rem?"
Rem: "Yes, Subaru-kun." She nodded.
Cylob: "Oh. That's because I have the Witch's scent."
He... said that so casually!
Subaru: "Is that true Rem?"
Rem: "Yes, Subaru-kun." She nodded.
Subaru: "So that's how she found you from so far away... Are you a Witch Cultist?"
Cylob: "That's a bold question. No I'm not. If I was, Crusch-sama would've already killed me."
Subaru: "That's true. She does have the ability to tell whether you're lying."
Then, an akward silence followed.
Cylob for the first time looked uncomfortable.
Cylob: "Hey... Can I talk to you Subaru? Just the two of us? Please?"
Subaru: "You can, but what's the problem with bringing someone else?"
Cylob: "You can... but then I won't be as talkative."
That's a weak reason, but it's probably my best chance at learning more about him.
Subaru: "Alright, just the two of us. But when and where?"
Cylob: "We'll use one of the Karsten residence's rooms, and about the time... How about half Water Time?" (9:00 pm)
Subaru: "Sure! I don't have anything planned."
Cylob: "Then I'll be waiting for you. Bye Rem, bye Subaru."
He walked away.
Subaru: "He acted kinda weird, didn't he?"
Rem: "I was also quite surprised. I didn't expect him to have such a change of mood when he met you, Subaru-kun."
Subaru: "Well, I guess I'll talk with him, and find out why he acted like this. Let's go Rem."
Rem: "Yes, Subaru-kun." She nodded.
He was normal when he was talking with Rem, but as soon as he saw me, he started acting weirdly. That didn't happen the first time I met him. So why did he act like that? Well, guess I'll find out.
.▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒.
I walk up to the Karsten residence.
In front of the gate, the only person welcoming me was Cylob.
Subaru: "You're already here? Sorry for making you wait."
Cylob: "Don't worry about it." Contrary to his words, his expression was extremely serious and, even though his face didn't show it, I could feel his anger.
He's much more serious than any other time I've seen him.
We walk into the Karsten residence and Cylob starts guiding me to the room.
Walking around in this residence is kinda nostalgic.
The room we arrived at was the most secluded one in the whole mansion.
As we walk in, I realize that I haven't seen anybody even remotely near this room since the time we entered.
He really doesn't want anyone to know about the contents of this conversation.
The room was well lit, and the decorations weren't lacking as well.
It was nowhere near the best rooms in the mansion, but it was still leagues better than the average house.
We both take a seat at the table that was right in the middle of the room.
He hanged his head down.
Cylob: "To be completely honest I don't know how to start this conversation, but there are a couple of things I would like to say to you."
Subaru: "Alright."
Cylob: "Remember when I said that you reminded me of something bad?"
Subaru: "Yes, I do."
Cylob: "You see, a person I know about had the same kind of eyes you have right now. For now I'll name him Vic. He had a person, who I'll name Mani, that promised to make everything just like how he wished to, and eventually Mani did, but the journey there was horrific. He had to suffer, all his friends suffered, all because he kept listening to Mani. Vic had to completely forget about everything he was, just so that he could follow Mani's plans to a tee. He had to abandon all his morals and emotions, his friends didn't get away unscathed either."
He looked at me - no - straight through me.
Cylob: "That's the kind of path that you're walking towards. I wanted to talk with you to make sure that you don't end up the same way. Someone is trying to make you into their puppet. They're not completely done, so you can still stop listening to them. But eventually it'll be too late to convince you otherwise."
Subaru: "That's quite the big accusation."
I've already beaten Roswaal. Who else could it be?
Cylob: "I know. But it's true, isn't it? I mean, that crystal under your clothes is proof of that."
I hid it and he still noticed?! That's impressive. No scrap that - it's impossible to see it with the naked eye, so it's on a whole other level!
Subaru: "How did you even notice it?"
Cylob: "I can feel mana. That means that I know where there is less mana and where is more. That's it."
Subaru: "You gave away that information quite easily." I look at him dumbfounded.
Cylob: "Well, if we ever become enemies: If I'm on the good side then I'll lose no matter what. And if you're on the good side then it'll be easier for you to beat me. It's simple math."
That's not simple at all!
Subaru: "Why are you so sure that I'll beat you no matter what?"
Cylob: "Because it's true, isn't it?" No emotion.
I'm not getting anything out of this talk.
I take out the crystal. It was pitch black, like always.
Subaru: "Why is this the confirmation that someone is manipulating me?"
Cylob: "I get a sinister feeling from it. And my instincts are rarely wrong. Why don't you think for yourself for once, instead of asking me?"
Subaru: "You accuse me of being manipulated out of nowhere and then tell me to think for myself?! How ureasonable can you be?! What am I supposed to think about?!"
Cylob: "Who could be controlling you for example. To help you in your thinking endeavours: The last time I saw you, you weren't being turned into a puppet."
Subaru: "That's just wrong! Someone WAS trying to make me into a puppet at that point in time! If yo-"
Cylob: "Roswaal didn't even take the first step at that point in time. This person already has."
He knows about Roswaal?!
Subaru: "How did you-"
Cylob: "That's not important right now, is it? Is the control so great that you aren't even willing to think for yourself? Or are you going to a-c-t-u-a-l-l-y t-h-i-n-k?" He didn't look angry, but I could feel the anger seeping out of him. It wasn't directed at me though...
Subaru: "Alright, I'll think!"
He's so annoying! Alright, I'll think if that's what you want so much, ~dear Cylob~!
Someone new who could be manipulating me.
Garfiel? No he's too stupid.
Otto? No he's my friend.
Ryuzu? That just makes no sense.
...
It doesn't have to be a new person, does it?
It just has to be someone who's trying to control me right now.
Emilia? No. Just no.
Beako? Nope. She's contracted to me.
Roswaal? I already beat him.
Wait a minute. Cylob said that he got a bad feeling from the crystal.
If the crystal is the reason, then... is it Echidna?
She told me that she would make my life easier, by telling me her knowledge, but is that actually true? I mean she is a Witch after all. She's always been kinda off, and when I agreed to her pact she became overly ecstatic. She did make it easier in the sanctuary, but how much is she actually going to help?
But what reason could she have in controlling me? The only thing I have... is...
...
Return by Death.
I have Return by Death.
That's all she needs.
She told me that she was going to make my life easier, but she's going to use that as an excuse to make me kill myself more. After every death I get more knowledge out of basically nowhere. What more could the Witch of Greed want? And what else could make my life easier? It's such a perfect excuse.
It all makes sense now.
I'm going to have a talk with her.
...
Guess Cylob isn't all that bad. If it weren't for him, I probably wouldn't have realized it.
Subaru: "I'm... sorry. I acted like a jerk."
Cylob: "Don't worry about it. I expected it."
Subaru: "You expected me to act like a jerk, huh. I can't tell whether to be thankful or angry."
...
Cylob: "I can leave this room, you know? You could get your thoughts in order. This room is free until next morning, so you can take all night if you want to." Barely noticeable uncomfortableness.
That's a weird shift in topic.
Subaru: "Thank you. That will be greatly appreciated."
He walks out of the room.
I carefully take off the necklace that the crystal was attached to.
I take the crystal in my hand and focus on it.
It starts beating, just like a living thing.
It's presence along with it's beating grows stronger and faster.
And when its beating matches the beating of my heart everything goes white.
When my eyes stop seeing only white, I start to see an unending landscape and a small hill in this otherwise flat world.
On top of the hill, was the ever familiar parasol, table, chairs and... the oh so familiar Witch.
I walk to the hill impatiently.
I sit down at the table without drinking the tea that was prepared for me.
I look at Echidna, who was in front of me, with her usual smile.
Subaru: "We need to talk."
Echidna: "You didn't drink my tea and you didn't say hello either. Is that any way to treat your contractor?"
Her nonchalant expression and way of talking were making me pissed off, but I knew I had to keep calm.
Subaru: "You said that you would make my life easier."
Echidna: "Going straight to questions. That's no way to treat a lady, you know?"
Subaru: "Answer the question." I say through gritted teeth.
Echidna: "*sigh* Yes I did."
Subaru: "In what way?"
Echidna: "..."
Subaru: "In what way?"
She frowned.
Echidna: "..."
Subaru: "Answer me Oddammit!" I stand up and slam my hands on the table.
She smiles again.
Echidna: "It's much easier to not think than to think, right?"
Subaru: "Huh?"
Echidna: "All you would have to do is follow my commands and what you want will be yours. Isn't that the easiest path? You don't have to think at all. Sure you'll have to move your body, but that's not that much work, right?"
Subaru: "So you would just make me into soulless puppet?!"
Echidna: "If that's the way you're going to phrase it, then sure."
Subaru: "You!"
The rage inside me builds up to unreasonable levels.
But I remember how much Otto drilled into me to be calm during negotiations, so I regain my reasonableness.
I close my eyes, take a deep breath, slowly exhale and repeat. Repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat until I fully calm down.
I open my eyes and stare at Echidna
Subaru: "I want to break our contract." I look at her with all the conviction I have.
Her smile gets bigger.
Echidna: "Who said that this contract could be broken?"
Subaru: "Hk!"
The way she said that made all my skin crawl.
She still had that maiden-like posture and mannerisms, but the air she was giving off was nothing maiden-like.
So this is why she's a Witch, huh.
But that sentence not only made my skin crawl, it also made me immesurably angry.
But most of that anger wasn't even directed at the woman who orchestrated the entire event, but me who fell for it.
Subaru: "Whatever! I'll just throw away the crystal and never use it again!"
I look at Echidna, but her expression didn't change. Not even a little bit. All that happpened was she calmly took another sip out of her cup.
Subaru: "Why are you so Oddamn calm?!"
But I didn't get any response this time either.
Subaru: "Whatever!"
I turn around and walk to the door that looked completely out of place.
I grab the doornob and before I can pull on it, I hear a voice behind me.
Echidna: "If you ever need my wisdom again, I won't decline."
I look back at her with the most wrathful of expressions.
Subaru: "SHUT UP!"
I yank the doornob as hard as I can and walk through the door.
I'm suddenly sent back to my position before using the crystal.
The feeling of having my position change out of nowhere confused me for a bit, but then anger won over me again.
Subaru: "Damn bitch!"
I grab the crystal in my hand and throw it as hard as I can to the ground.
...
But I don't hear the sound of the crystal hitting the floor.
I reluctantly rotate my hand.
In it was the thing I didn't want to see most.
The crystal was still safely held in my hand.
Subaru: 'What? Why?'
A weak whisper was all I could muster.
For some reason, the thought of throwing away the crystal... wasn't present.
I was angry at Echidna and I wanted to end the contract, but throwing away the crystal was a no.
I...
...
I want to take advantage of the contract, don't I?
If I can't get rid of the contract, then why not use it?
Who says that I will become a mindless puppet? I won't let that happen to me if I know it's coming.
So... why not take advantage of it?
She will make my life easier, won't she?
What's so bad about it anyway?
If I know she's trying to make me into a puppet, then I can stop myself before it gets too bad.
*knock* *knock*
That must be Cylob.
I put the necklace back on.
Subaru: "You can come in now."
Cylob walks into the room.
He stares at me again, but this time I don't interrupt him.
Cylob: "...Are you done?" No emotion.
Subaru: "Yep!"
Cylob: "Well, I don't have anything else to talk about, so you can go now. You know your way around the Karsten residence, right?"
Subaru: "Yes, I do."
I walk up to Cylob and have to look down to meet his eyes.
I forgot how short he is.
Subaru: "Thank you for today. Truly, thank you. If you ever need my help, just ask."
Cylob: "Thanks." No emotion.
I start walking out, but just as I walk past Cylob, he yanks my crystal from my neck.
I turn to him and see that the necklace is now broken and is falling to the ground. My crystal is fine tho.
I instinctively try to grab my crystal, but he steps away from me.
Cylob: "Did you really think I would let you walk away with this? I told you it was bad. Why did you ignore my advice?" Angry tone.
Subaru: "You said yourself that your instincts are rarely wrong, didn't you? That means that they can be wrong. That crystal isn't as bad as you think it is."
He stares at me with an angry expression.
His face doesn't convey it properly, but he's extremely pissed right now, isn't he?
Cylob: "...Do you know who's trying to control you now?"
Subaru: "Yes. And I won't let her turn me into a mindless puppet."
Cylob: "So you've broken all connections with that person, right?"
I consider my options before deciding to tell the truth.
Subaru: "No. I've gotten an even better idea. I'll use her to my advanta-"
Cylob: "THAT'S WHAT SHE WANTS YOU TO THINK!"
I reflexively stepped back from that shout.
Cylob has the angriest expression ever. This time it is directed at me and he starts screaming his lungs out.
Cylob: "How can you not tell, that she wants you to think like that! You may think that you're using her, but it's going to be the other way around! Do you think that she's not smart enough to do that?! She's way smarter than you, dumbass! You have no chance of outsmarting her! So just stop associating with her! Completely! It'll only end up bad for you and everyone around you!"
He takes a breather to collect his thoughts and calm down, while I'm still in shock at his comments.
Cylob: "If you still want this... abomination, I'll leave it on the table." He says as he places my crystal on the table.
He then walks out of the room with fast steps.
...
I have a lot to think about.
.▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒.
It was already night, as I was walking around with no particular goal in mind.
Cylob was... right, wasn't he?
I was about to fall for one of her schemes once again.
I'm really stupid.
I was given every hint possible and I still fell for her tricks.
But even though I know she was trying to manipulate me... I can't get rid of this.
I look at my crystal in my hand.
I want to break the contract, I hate Echidna... but I can't throw this away.
...
Why?
Is she already in my head? How can I get rid of this... addiction?
What do I do?
I lean on a random wall.
...
What would my parents think if they saw me like this?
Addicted to a fucking crystal...
...
They would be dissapointed in me.
But they would try their best to make me better.
So why should I not?
If it's something my parents would do, then I will try my best to do the same.
I look at the crystal. Several complicated emotions start swelling up within me.
I want to be a better person just like my parents want me to be, but I can't even do something as easy as throwing away a crystal.
I look up at the night sky. I can't recognize even a single star.
I close my eyes to take a look at myself.
I feel an undescribable attachment to the crystal. I try to feel it more closely, but I still can't make out why I'm so attached to it. That doesn't mean that I can't do anything to numb it down though.
I put my feelings of love, hate, anger, happiness and every other single emotion between myself and this 'attachment'.
I open my eyes and take one final look at the crystal.
I clutch my hand with all my force and throw the damned crystal as far away as I can.
The feeling of loss immediately spreads through me, but I ignore it to the best of my abilities.
Let's go... to everyone. Yeah, to my friends. To people who actually care about me.
I don't need that rock, when I have my friends. Unhealthy attachments are just that - unhealthy, after all.
.▓▒▓▒▓▒▓▒▓▒▓▒▓▒▓▒▓▒▓▒▓.
I immediately pick up the crystal that Subaru threw.
I try to use Predator on it.
Just like I thought, I can't eat it. How do I get rid of it then?
["You're quite interesting, aren't you?"]
That's Echidna!
I throw the crystal on the ground as fast as I can.
I don't want to get corrupted by her. Especially not after what I said to Subaru.
That brings me back to the question on how to get rid of the crystal.
I can't let anyone touch it, less they get corrupted by Echidna, but I have to somehow either destroy it or keep it in a place too hard to reach.
["No need to be so cautious."]
How can I still hear her?! Let's atleast try to destroy it first.
I take a stance and with all my power swing down my sword.
But even with all of my power put into it, the strike didn't even make a scratch.
Dammit.
["Why don't we have a talk?"]
Cylob: "Shut. Up."
Maybe she can only talk to me within a specific range?
I take a couple of steps back.
...
Seems like... this is far away enough.
["Why don't you even try listening to me?"]
Shit! What do I do?!
I have no idea on how to get rid of her! What do I do? What do I do?!
...
Let's try talking - MY ASS! As if I'm stupid enough to do something like that!
I grab the crystal and start running outside the capital as fast as I can.
["You're in quite a rush. Though I do wonder how you knew about me."]
Cylob: "Shut up!"
["Your knowledge and existence are quite similar to Subaru's. You're both outside the norm. Can you give me at least some kind of a hint as to how you knew about me?"]
Cylob: "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!"
["You know I want as much knowledge as possible and you're afraid of me exploiting you for it, I can understand that. But I promise you I'm not going to do anything bad to you."]
Cylob: "How about everyone else? Will you do bad to everyone else?"
["..."]
Cylob: "The way you hide your real meaning behind truths is quite similar to me, you see. That's why I know how useless it is to talk to you: I'm the same."
After that, Echidna kept talking and talking, but I ignored everything she said.
After a while I was already out of the capital.
After getting a decent amount away from the capital, I transformed into my slime form and started using Predator to dig straight down, as fast and as deep as I could.
After exhausting 80% of my mana I quickly wall-jump up the pit.
When I get to the surface I transform back to my human form.
I take the crystal into my hand.
["I've never seen anyone do something like that."]
I could hear the surprise in her voice, but I didn't care about that.
