I look at the capital from the sky.
"Yep, it's all fixed."
After using the power from my Stomach, I was able to fix everything in the capital that was broken.
Cylob: "It's good that everything that was destroyed ended up in my Stomach. All I had to do was Enyan everything in the right place."
Of course it wasn't easy, which is why I needed that bottomless power from my Stomach. Everyone in the whole capital had ended up losing their consciousness as payback, so it wasn't all good.
Cylob: "There were no bodies inside my Stomach though. Does that mean no one died?"
Truthfully, I was scared of the casualties I caused, but if my Stomach was anything to go by, then nobody had died.
Cylob: "But instead of bodies there were a lot of body parts. I'm not skilled enough to put those back in place, so I just put them next to the people who lost them."
That way they could be reattached, I presumed.
Cylob: "I feel like I'm forgetting something important... eh, it's probably nothing." I wave away my worries.
Cylob: "Now, let's search for someone I know."
When I looked around, not too far away I could see Crusch. She didn't have any body parts missing, which made me a bit relieved.
That's someone I know. I thought as I started walking there.
I took a step-

"Hk!"
I was getting taken over.
Both the darkness and the feeling of power were trying to take control of me.
This is bad! I completely forgot about them!
I completely neglected the darkness that was taking over my mind, and I didn't take the word bottomless seriously enough!
I immediately fell on my knees.
I was resisting as desperately as I could, but the more I did the more it hurt.
It felt like my head was going to split. My entire body was convulsing in pain.
If I had blood, it would be going out of every hole in my body, that's how bad I felt.
"Control, control, CONTROL FOR FUCK'S SAKE!"
I was holding the darkness back and trying to control the raging power inside of me at the same time.
It felt impossible. It was impossible. Was it impossible? It was definitely impossible.
But I still desperately tried.
If one or the other gained control, this world would be done for.
Ferris, Crusch, Wilhelm, Chis, Shurua, Seira, Caroline. All of them will die! I can't allow that to happen!
But hope was getting drained from me. The longer I endured, the more I could only see the bad end.
Am I really giving up now of all times?!
I was angry at myself. Tears were streaming down my face from my powerlessness.
But just as I was despairing, an idea came to my mind.
Maybe I could use this power for good?
If I could make another miracle like fixing the entire capital happen, then maybe having all this power wouldn't be so bad.
I could probably save so many people with this power.
Yeah... I could definitely do that.
Using this power for good... That's a very good idea. I'm strong enough to control it after all.
As soon as I said that, I bit the inside of my mouth.
How is that pain, huh?! Feel strong now, Cylob?!
I was dissing myself to not forget about my weakness. If I let myself fall too deep into the illusion of good power, I would get taken over.
Sure, maybe I would use this power for good... but not for long. I knew myself, I get bored easily. I'd eventually start using it for my own entertainment and that's not something I want.
Do the strong feel pain, Cylob?! Of course they don't! So you're not strong, don't forget about that! You're not strong!
It was funny how my self-deprecation was helping me here, but I could feel this wasn't enough. I had to pull out all the stops.
If you were strong, then where are all those knights?! Where are all the villagers of Obuch?! Where's Shinyu?!
My eyes filled with tears of sadness instead of tears of pain, but I didn't let that distract myself from my goal.
I had to somehow control this power... no, that's impossible. It was too chaotic, too unpredictable. I couldn't control it.
Think, Cylob. How do I stop this power?
That's when I remembered where the power came from. My Stomach.
I looked inside my Stomach, trying to find the source of this limitless power.
I found it, a connection. My Stomach was connected to the source of infinite power.
And I did the only logical thing.
I ate the connection.
The power no longer felt bottomless.
Still, I already had power inside my body, and this wouldn't help with it. I had to deal with that as well.
Soothing.
"Hk!"
I had neglected the darkness too much. I could feel my mental space being control by it.
My vision was also slowly being covered in darkness.
Be helpful to me, stupid bottomless power!
I focused. I guided the power inside my body to my head.
Almost all of it was now focused on my head.
To say that my head was splitting would be an understatement. This pain couldn't be described. This pain couldn't be understood. Hell would be better than this.
But slowly, it got better. Just like the darkness, the power was slowly diminishing.
The two forces were clashing with each other. Both of them saught for full control, so they destroyed everything in their way, including themselves.
Then, it happened.
Soothi
It got destroyed. The darkness that previously occupied my mind was nowhere to be found.
But my head still hurt. The power was still nowhere near gone, I had to find another way to get rid of it.
I already thought about it!
Without a single shred of hesitation, I took my sword and cut off my arm. The pain in my arm was nothing compared to the pain in my head, so I didn't care.
Then, just as quickly as it got detached, the arm regenerated. The power inside of me diminished, but only a small portion of it.
I knew it! If the power doesn't have a host, then it can't exist, so the power heals me at the first opportunity!
I cut off my arm again, and it quickly regenerated.
I cut off my arm once again, it quickly regenerated.
I cut it off, it regenerated.
I cut it, it regenerated.
I cut, it regenerated.
Cut, it regenerated.
Cut, regenerated.
Cut. . . . . . . . . Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. . Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. . Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated. Cut. Regenerated.
After an uncountable amount of times of swinging my sword.
I did it.
I could no longer feel the power inside of me.
Just to test.
I repeat the action of swinging down my sword.
The arm that got cut fell to the ground, and it didn't regenerate.
Finally.
I looked around me.
Countless arms were all around me, stockpiled.
All of them were mine.
I was surrounded by a barrier of my arms.
"Ngh."
My mental strength was at it's limit.
I could feel myself staggering and barely able to stand. I was swaying back and forth.
"Not yet."
I Beelzebub all of the arms around me and reattach one of them.
Then, I gather as much mana as I can in my arms and-
*CLAP*
It was an earth shattering clap.
If I was a human, my earbuds would've certainly burtsed from this, that's how loud it was.
I barely hold onto my consiousness to make sure that my idea worked.
Then, I see a knight slowly waking up.
"Ah, it worked. Thank god."
I immediately fall on the spot.
.▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒░▒.
...
..
.
My eyelids slowly open as I wake up.
"Ngh. I feel so heavy."
The first thing I notice is that my body feels almost unmovable. I tried to put strength into my arms, but I was unable to properly lift them.
The next thing I notice is that there are a lot of people sleeping on makeshift beds all around me.
Cylob: "Is this where they put all uninjured people?"- was my guess to the picture in front of me.
It seems like not everyone woke up from my clap, so they decided to put those who didn't here.
?: "Oh? Are you awake?"
An unfamiliar voice greeted me. When I looked towards it, I could see a knight standing not too far away.
Cylob: "Barely. I feel like if I let up even a bit, I'll go back to sleep."
knight: "Makes sense. After the exhausting battle against that... something, not many people have the energy to keep working."
Well, my exhaustion is for a different reason though... or is it? I mean I did fight the shadow, so technicallyI'm exhausted for the same reason as them.
Cylob: "Can I ask you a question?"
knight: "Sure, go ahead."
Cylob: "How many casualties happened?"
This is it.
This was the most important part. If too many people died, I don't think it would be possible for me to not hate myself. After all, if you're responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people, how can you not hate yourself?
I didn't find any bodies in my Stomach, but that didn't mean no one died.
Someone might've died from the rubble or maybe full people just didn't get sent to my Stomach. There was a lot I couldn't know.
knight: "It's zero, even among the civilians."
Cylob: "Haaaaa..."
Tears of relief started running down my face.
I've cried a lot today, haven't I? Jesus, what a crybaby.
I wipe away my tears with my stupidly heavy arms.
knight: "But that doesn't mean It'll stay that way."
I froze in shock at that statement.
Cylob: "W-what do you mean?"
knight: "A lot of people got injured, and even though their body parts were somehow safe, that doesn't mean that their injuries just went away. All healers are trying their best to save as many as possible, but I'm not sure whether they'll be able to. Reattaching limbs is only something the best of healers can do after all. I hear that Blue is having it the hardest, he's expending every bit of his power to save as many as possible."
Dammit, I got too lax. I thought that everything would be fine just because there are no deaths. Real life is not so easy.
Cylob: "I have to help then."
I start trying to get up, but my body doesn't follow my commands, it's too encumbered.
The recoil from everything that happened is too great. My body can't even stand up.
I wanted to use mana to help me, but I had too little of it. I would at most be able to walk for 40 seconds.
I don't have the mental strength to push through either. I'm too tired on all fronts.
knight: "You can help? Are you a healing mage?"
Ah, I completely forgot, I can have others help me. I don't have to do everything by myself after all.
Cylob: "I'm not a healing mage, but I have a certain method to help. Can you help me go there?"
knight: "Sure. Not like I have anything better to do."
He helped me stand up and we started walking with my arm over his shoulder.
We didn't have to walk far.
There seemed to be a clear divide between the injured and the uninjured, but all of them were out in the open, so walking far was completely unneeded.
I could see a multitude of people running around, trying their best to help these people stay alive.
Healers were running around, stopping the bleeding or reattaching limbs with magic. Most of them were just stopping the bleeding though, it seemed like reattaching limbs was a really hard thing to do, so only a select few could do it.
Knights were running around with medical supplies. Stopping the bleeding with tools instead of magic.
Cylob: "Everyone is working really hard, huh."
knight: "Of course. Preventing death is just that important."
Cylob: "Why aren't you helping?"
knight: "I can't properly use medical supplies or healing magic. Trying to teach me in this scenario would just make me a liability, so they told me to look after the ones who were asleep. Just so you know, I'm not the only one with this situation."
Cylob: "I see, so that's why you agreed to help me so readily. What's your name by the way?"
knight: "My name is Richard."
Once we finished our talk, we got close to an injured female knight. She had her right leg detached.
Richard: "So, what can you do?"
Cylob: "This is going to be really weird, but trust me, okay?"
I raise a hand and bring out one of my arms from stomach.
Richard: "What the-?!" He jumped back in surprise and dragged me after him, I ended up dropping my arm.
I didn't have enough mana to Beelzebub it, so it just fell flat onto the ground.
Cylob: "Wait, calm down! I swear this isn't anything bad!"
I should've just told him to not look!
He looked at me with doubtful eyes.
Cylob: "Listen, do you want me to help or not? I know it looks weird, but it'll help. Or do you want for her to keep bleeding?"
He stared at me for bit and I stared back.
Richard: "Fine, I guess..."
Cylob: "Good. Don't suddenly jump away the next time you see something weird."
I carefully pick up the arm that fell and approach the female knight with the assistance of Richard.
Once I am above the injury, I synchronize with my detached hand and make it go into a liquid state.
It droops onto the wound and stabilizes it. No more blood was coming out of it.
Richard: "What the hell...? Just what are you?"
Cylob: "That doesn't matter right now. Let's go around and help as many people as we can."
And so, the dubious Richard and the exhausted me kept walking around and helping as many people as we could.
The amount of arms I had was about 200, so I didn't have to pick and choose on who had the worst condition, I could help all of them.
Cylob: "That's... another one done."
Richard: "Shouldn't you take a break? You look like you're sick. You've already healed 50, why not take a break yourself?"
Richard was right. I was completely and utterly exhausted. In truth, I was barely keeping my eyes open.
But... there are still so many left. As the one who caused all of these injuries to happen, I should at least help until I cannot keep my eyes open.
Cylob: "No, I'm helping until my limit."
Richard: "If you say so..."
We kept walking around, but I could steadily feel my limit approaching. After the 70th one, I couldn't keep my eyes open.
...
But that didn't stop me.
I used Mana Sense to know where everything was and I was biting the inside of my mouth to keep myself awake.
I wouldn't stop until I exhausted every bit of my power.
Somehow, I managed to push through 92.
Richard: "No, that's it. I'm making you take a break."
Cylob: "..."
I couldn't talk, I didn't have the energy to do that. All I could do was slowly shake my head to show my disapproval.
Of course, as I had almost no energy left, I couldn't resist being put down on the ground.
I felt frustrated at not being able to do more.
One more. Just one more.- is what I kept thinking.
But nobody could hear my thoughts, so I just kept laying on the ground.
I could feel that Richards was sitting next to me, he was bringing something up to his mouth, probably drinking some water.
Richard: "Want some water?"
I shook my head to the sides. I had no need for that.
Richard: "Suit yourself."
I kept laying down in silence, not letting myself sleep.
Normally, I would go into the world of dreams at this point of tiredness, but I was too stubborn. I didn't want to fall asleep until everyone had been healed.
?: "I'll just stabilize it for now. I can reattach the arm later."
The voice that said that was familiar.
Once I focused on the person with Mana Sense, I could feel that they were expertly healing the injured person with no mana wasted. They themselves didn't have much mana left, they had most definitely pushed themselves to their breaking point.
Ferris.
It was Ferris. He kept running around and healing people when he himself had almost no mana left.
It showed the sheer tenacity that he had, and just how seriously he took his job as a healer.
Now that I think about it, his arm was inside my stomach, which means that he had to reattach his own limb. When a limb is reattached, it's not fully healed and it performs worse than normally, and yet he keeps working even with that kind of arm.
I was honestly impressed. Not many would keep working under such conditions.
I wanted to follow his example and keep working, but I was sure that Richard wouldn't let me.
Can I really not do anything?
My brain wasn't thinking properly, but I still came up with an idea on how to help with the last bits of my consciousness, power and mana.
First, I put my Mana Sense on overdrive to be able to feel very far away from me and with pinpoint accuracy. I could feel my brain hurting from doing that, but I didn't care.
Then, I Enyan-ed all of my remaining arms over injured areas with the last bit of mana that I had.
Lastly, I quickly liquified all of them. The mental strain of synchronizing with so many parts at once even further amplified the pain in my brain, but I grit my teeth and endured it.
After a final check to make sure that everything went well, I relaxed a bit.
I immediately fell asleep.
