Despite Serenity unleashing the Caliente, things continue on. Two of the Tri Flame have been defeated and that just leaves Jake. Luck would have it that Mary is the one that has to face him. Although, Jake is the leader of the Tri Flame and might be the strongest of the three with his magic still yet to be known.

"I've heard a few things about you. Your name is Mary, and the type of magic you use is quite special." Jake said. "Well, it doesn't matter what kind of magic you use against me. For Serenity, I will not fail."

"Sandy, what kind of magic does this guy use?" Mary asked.

"Let's just say that it's...unsettling." Sandy said.

"I asked what kind of magic he uses, you stupid cat!" Mary argued. "Forget it. This gives me the perfect chance to try out my new charm. Come forth, the one that makes the sky rage! Uranus!" Mary called upon her newest olympian. With the Uranus charm glowing, a brand new olympian appeared. It resembled a giant bird, quite large and around twice the height of Mary with feathers as green as an emerald with a puffy chest. It also had dark green legs with a gold beak.

"Aww... It feels good to spread my wings." Uranus claimed.

"Wow! That's what I call a big bird!" Sandy said.

"I heard your magic is quite rare, and now I see why." Jake claimed.

"I would love to see what you can do, Uranus. See the guy in the cape on that building? Take him down, if you be so kind." Mary said.

"Gladly." Uranus claimed with him opening his wings and taking flight. It came down at Jake with its foot, but Jake was able to move out of the way. After that, Uranus tried to peck down at Jake, but Jake kept moving out of the way. "Oh, someone is quick on his feet. Well, you can't escape from this!" Uranus started flapping his wings and was generating a powerful windstorm from it. In fact, he was generating an actual tornado from it. However, the surrounding buildings and area was taking damage from it.

"Whoa! Hold it!" Mary called with her trying to resist the wind and Sandy holding on to her. "We're trying to keep this town safe, not wreck it!"

"Oh! Sorry!" Uranus said as he stopped what he was doing. "Sometimes I get carried away. My wind is something you cannot contain."

"Watch out! Here comes Jake!" Sandy called. Jake made his way up Uranus' body until he reached his neck. When he got there, he grabbed a hold of him with just three fingers and pinched down. When that happened, Uranus suddenly felt great pain and had a hard time moving.

"What's happening?!" Uranus said with him dropping to the ground. His whole body looks like its in pain and he couldn't really move all because Jake had a hold on him.

"What's going on?!" Mary said.

"It's Jake's magic!" Sandy said.

"Begone! Thanks for the help, Uranus!" Mary said with her sending Uranus back to where he came from. "What was that? What did he do?"

"It's Jake's vampiric magic." Sandy said. "It gives him qualities similar to a vampire."

"Did you say vampire?" Mary said with her sounding a little creeped out.

"That's right." Jake said. "My magic can actually affect the blood in one's body, the source of their life, for blood circulates through your whole body. I don't know if olympians have blood, but they are living creatures and are too affected by my magic. Once I have a hold of you, my magic can be quite difficult to resist, especially when this magic is meant to cause paralysis. However, I am a mere novice with this magic compared to someone who doesn't even need to make contact to use it."

"So, his magic allows him to attack the inside of a person's body?" Mary said.

"That's one way of putting it." Sandy said. "As long as he doesn't grab a hold of you, you should be safe from it."

"So, we have to attack from a distance. In that case..." Mary think she might know someone that might be able to help, but she didn't get the chance. Right when she looked into Jake's eyes, they glowed red and she found herself having a hard time moving.

"Not again." Mary said.

"Mary, what's wrong?!" Sandy asked.

"I believe your little friend told you that I have powers similar to a vampire, and vampires are capable of using hypnosis." Jake said with him moving closer to her. Using his own form of eye magic, Mary couldn't move again. When Jake was close enough, he grabbed a hold of Mary by the arm the same way he grabbed Uranus. Suddenly, Mary felt some sort of shock travel through her body. Jake might have stopped the hypnosis, but Mary still couldn't move. She was having a hard time standing with her dropping to her knees. "You can't beat me."

"Let her go!" Sandy called as he made a brave attempt to try and save her, but Jake easily caught Sandy with his spare arm and he couldn't break free.

"Submit. You are beaten." Jake said. "This magic can cause paralysis, but long exposure could lead to a blackout. If you can't get free, you'll soon lose consciousness."

'My whole body feels like it's going numb, and his hold on my arm feels like something's biting down on it.' Mary thought. It really did feel like Jake was using the blood in her own body against her. Mary felt like she was about to lose consciousness, but then Jake sensed something coming. Lightning came out of nowhere and struck Jake with him forced to let them go. When that happened, someone came out of nowhere and grabbed a hold of the two of them and got them away from Jake.

"What happened now?" Sandy questioned.

"I know you didn't call, but I knew you were in trouble, so I came to lend a hand." Mary looked up to who saved her and was grateful that he showed up when he did.

"Thanks. I thought I was in real trouble there." Mary said.

"Wait. I know you." Jake said. "It's you, J!" That's right. J, once a fellow member of Phoenix Flame and revealed to be an olympian, is the one that saved them. Now, he's returned to his true identity as Jupiter, the strongest of the olympians.

"Looks like I finally get the chance to repay my debt to you, Mary." Jupiter claimed.

"This is a surprising. So, you were really one of these olympians all along, but you were a member of Phoenix Flame." Jake claimed. "Have you decided to take part in Serenity's challenge."

"No. I'm well aware of what's going on, but I don't care about any of that." Jupiter claimed. "I'm here to protect Mary. I won't let you hurt her. Although, I'm a little surprised myself that you went along with this, Jake. Serenity asked you to do this and you went along with it? Is her every wish really your command? I thought you had more pride, more self-esteem than this. I know you have a soft spot for her, but even you must think this is nuts."

"I don't have to explain myself to you or anyone." Jake claimed.

"Fine, but you asked for this." Jupiter claimed with him pulling out his sword. "Mary, you just stand back. Let me handle this."

"Yeah. Sounds good to me." Mary said.

"Why does everyone exclude me? I'm here." Sandy complained. Despite that, Jupiter attacked. He took his sword and kept trying to attack, but Jake tried to remain one step ahead of him and then jumped away.

"Where are you going?!" Jupiter said. He held up his sword and fired a bolt of lightning, but Jake was able to avoid that as well. "I don't understand, Jake. You aren't the type to get so giddy or make a moron of yourself all because of a girl."

"I told you I don't need to explain myself." Jake claimed.

"When this is all over, do you think Serenity will actually thank you? Actually like you? I've seen some people do some pretty stupid things just to get some attention or affection from someone they like, but it can get pretty pitiful. I never thought you would be that type of guy. How disappointing when you mean nothing to Serenity." Jupiter claimed.

"Be silent!" Jake called as he tried to attack him again, but Jupiter moved away. Jupiter chased after Jake, but that's exactly what Jake wanted. When Jupiter thrusted his sword forward, Jake was able to avoid that and grabbed a hold of Jupiter. Once he did that, Jupiter began to feel the same sensation Mary was feeling.

"Even as an olympian, you are still weak and don't have the power." Jake said.

"No! Jupiter!" Mary called.

"We've got to do something, but garlic won't work on Jake. I know because I tried. He actually likes garlic." Sandy said.

"It's over." Jake claimed.

"Not quite." Jupiter said. He was still able to tap into his lightning magic and gave Jake a good shock that forced him to let go. After that, Jupiter drove the butt of his sword against Jake and pushed him back.

"What? But how?" Jake said as he really felt that one. "I don't remember you being this strong."

"I'm not the same man as I was before." Jupiter claimed as he began to build electricity around his sword. "It's thanks to Mary that my strength and pride as an olympian returned to me. I'm stronger now than I've ever been before. It's because I know she cares, and it's because of that I grow even stronger! Thunder Slasher!" Jupiter swung down his sword as hard as he could and unleashed an intense wave of lightning that demolished the ground. Jake got swallowed by the attack with that attack leaving a trail of destruction in it.

"Hey! We're suppose to be keeping this place safe! Not wreck it!" Sandy called. "This isn't going to be good for the festival."

"Sorry. Too much?" Jupiter said.

"Maybe a little." Mary said. Still, that attack was powerful. Jake was laying on the ground and took some damage. In fact, he was having a hard time getting back up after that attack. It would seem Jupiter's real power really has returned to him.

"I... I lost... I failed Serenity." Jake said. Jupiter walked right over and stood right over him.

"So far, you got off easy." Jupiter said.

"Well? What are you waiting for?" Jake said. "I betrayed the guild. I knew there was no going back. I have failed Serenity. Just finish me off." Jake is asking Jupiter to end this fight, and it seems Jupiter is willing to go through with it. Jupiter raised his sword and got ready to finish Jake just like he wanted.

"You asked for this." Jupiter said. Jake accepted his fate and awaited for Jupiter to do that. Jupiter swung his sword, but it never made contact because Mary grabbed a hold of Jupiter's arm and stopped him from doing anything.

"Stop, Jupiter. There's no reason for that." Mary said.

"I don't understand. Why would you spare me? Go on and just finish me off." Jake said.

"I won't do that because we're in the same guild." Mary said.

"Spare me your false pity." Jake said as he was in no mood for something like that.

"It's not that, Jake. We're in the same guild, and in my time in Phoenix Flame, I learned that we're comrades. Even though you and I don't know each other, it doesn't mean I don't care about you." Mary said. "That's how it seems to work in Phoenix Flame."

"No! You're wrong! Serenity is my only friend! She's the only one that matters to me!" Jake argued.

"But it doesn't have to be like that." Mary said. "I know what I'm talking about because I did the same thing that you're doing." Jake was listening now. Mary dropped down and actually held his hand with Jake feeling a sense of warmth of comfort from her. "Before I joined Phoenix Flame, I only thought about taking care of myself. That didn't change even after I joined the guild. I only really thought about myself and my problems, and acted like everything else wasn't my problem. I never even had any intention of joining a guild, but everything changed when I met Maru and the others. When I saw how much they cared, I knew I found real friends. Friends I knew I would have for the rest of my life. Everything began to change after that. I began to see I was part of something much bigger than myself. After that, I felt like I found the place where I really belong. It's perfectly fine if you have one person you trust more than anyone, but that doesn't mean you have to shut the rest of us out. After everything the friends I made in Phoenix Flame has done for me, I won't feel alone anymore. You've been in the guild longer than me. Surely, you feel the same way." Those words rang true in Jake. Tears began to fall from his eyes because everything Gin, Jupiter, and Mary said was true.

"I never wanted...any of this." Jake cried with him covering his eyes. Jake never really wanted to betray the guild like this. He may have wanted Serenity to like him, but he knows things have gone too far. To think it was Mary that got him to see the light. Jupiter was quite proud of Mary because this shows she's already come a long way from before.

'You really are amazing, Mary.' Jupiter thought. She's already come from that loner thieving life she lived before, and now she's embracing her place in Phoenix Flame.

...

Maru

"Come on, Serenity! Where are you?!" Maru said. He looked around for where Serenity might be hiding, but then a set of runes appeared to him about the latest update. "Mary vs. Jake. Winner: Mary. Mary won against Jake?! That means there's only one left now." Serenity is the last one now, but with her little boytoys failing her, she's burning mad now.
