The day after the destruction of the Rebel command post, Ahsoka was in a Rebel shuttle in a command room with Hera, Sabine, Zeb, Andros - who had not yet revealed his identity to the rest of the Ghost crew, despite Sabine's insistence - and a hologram of Commander Sato, when Kanan and Ezra entered the room.
"With the destruction of our command ship, it will be more difficult to fight the Empire." Sato declared.
"Commander Sato, sir?" Said Ezra. "When things were difficult for me on Lothal, I tried to find a place to hide."
"You're never shy about your options, Ezra Bridger, but establishing a base is a good idea."
"The problem is that the potential bases we know of don't have the technical advantage we need to protect what's left of our fleet." Hera declared as Kanan approached her from behind.
"Or nearby systems suffering from Imperial influence nearby." Declared the Jedi.
"We can't help others if we can't help ourselves Kanan." Said Hera. "If only we had more allies."
"I know people who could help us." Said Ahsoka. "A great military commander, with vast knowledge of the outer rim, he could help us find a base, and his experienced leadership could make him a powerful ally."
All the rebels seemed confused, but Zack knew who his wife was talking about.
"And how do we find this leader?"
"That's the problem." Ahsoka declared. "I lost contact with him a long time ago, all my transmissions went unanswered."
"We can find him." Said Ezra. "Let's try."
"Well, there's one option I haven't tried." Ahsoka declared.
"But do you know if we can trust her?" Hera asked.
"Hera, if there's one thing I've learned from working with her, it's NEVER to doubt her judgment." Andros declared.
Later in the Ghost, the ship's crew and Andros waited in the cockpit as Ahsoka entered holding a droid head.
"Is this the head of an old tactical droid?" Kanan asked as Ahsoka handed the droid head to Sabine.
"Those droids were very good at finding things." Ahsoka declared. "Found me a few times when I didn't want to be found."
"How is this droid going to find your friend, when he could be anywhere in the entire galaxy?" Ezra asked.
"Well, the last time I saw him, he was in the Seelos system." Said Ahsoka. "You can start there."
"Aren't you both coming with us?" Ezra asked.
"I have something else to take care of, Ezra." Said Ahsoka.
"The Sith Lord." Said Kanan.
"There are questions to be answered." Declared Ahsoka. "In the meantime, the Darth Mandalorian will accompany you on this mission."
"I'd like us to go with you and help you." Says Ezra
"Your offer is appreciated, Ezra. But you have your mission and I have mine." Says Ahsoka before turning to Kanan. "Kanan. If you find my friend, you must trust him."
"If he's everything you say he is, I can't afford to doubt him." Kanan declared.
"TRUST HIM." Ahsoka said sternly as the hatch closed in front of them.
Ezra then turned to Andros.
"What was that?" he asked.
"I don't know. But she's got to be as serious as you are about this mission." Sabine's old friend replied.
Then Hera detached the Ghost from the rebel shuttle and took off into hyperspace.
Later, the Ghost arrived in the Seelos system but there was a problem... the hyperdrive was broken.
"YOU WAIT UNTIL WE GET TO THE SEELOS SYSTEM TO TELL ME THE HYPERDRIVE WASN'T COMPLETELY FIXED!" Hera shouted at Chopper, who was moaning like mad as he tried to repair it. "Are the important repairs done? And how do you define 'important'?!"
"What's with all the shouting?" Kanan asked as he entered the cockpit.
"Chopper and I are staying here, cleaning up this mess!" Said Hera "Take the Phantom. I hope we'll be ready to go when you get back."
Kanan, Ezra, Andros, Zeb and Sabine took the Phantom to Seelos as they entered the atmosphere, Sabine headed for Andros.
"So, do you know who this military commander Ahsoka was talking about is?" she asked.
"No, I'm just as distraught as you guys." Andros replied. "But if what she said about him is true, we could certainly use his help."
Andros then noticed the expression on Sabine's face.
"Is something bothering you?"
"I was wondering how you got to this point. Being feared by both the empire and the crime syndicates. Especially after... you know." She replied, looking down at the floor with some embarrassment.
"Oh, yeah. It wasn't easy at first. It took me a while to establish myself properly."
"And... how did you leave the academy?"
"I lied, saying that in my state I didn't feel able to continue. In view of the incident they agreed, I stole the ship with which they wanted to take me back to Mandalore."
"The officers who were supposed to drop you off must have been angry." Sabine smiled.
"No idea, I left them gagged and in their boxers, so I think they passed it off as a hidden pirate attack on the planet when they were found." Answered the Dark Mandalorian with a shrug.
"So you two know each other?" Ezra said, crashing into the conversation.
"We went to the Imperial Academy together. I had my doubts it was him during the mission. But he showed me his face when I went to see him after we managed to escape the empire." Sabine explained.
"And you're still not showing us your face." Kanan retorted suspiciously.
"I'll show you when I trust you enough." Andros retorted.
Here, you can sit in my place if you like," said the hybrid, rising to his feet.
The Phantom flew for what seemed like hours while Sabine finally managed to get the droid's head working.
"All right, let's light this thing up." She said as she put the head in front of Kanan, but nothing happened. "I think it's looking for a signal of some kind."
"Well, we can hurry, we might get lost here." Said Ezra.
"Maybe that was the idea," said Zeb. "What if this great commander doesn't want to be found?"
Just then, the droid's head activated.
" 7567. " The droid repeated several times.
"He's heading for something." Said Sabine as the droid began to steer the Phantom to the left.
A few minutes later, Zeb spotted something.
"There! Up there, in front of us." he said, pointing to a distant object.
As the ship drew closer, it turned out to be a walker of some kind, but it wasn't Imperial and looked like someone's home.
"It's a work of art." Said Sabine, amazed.
"It looks like an old Republic tank." Kanan declared. "Was used during the Clone Wars."
The Republic walker stopped short as the Phantom landed behind it.
The Phantom's rear door opened and the rebels stepped out. The walker's door opened shortly afterwards and three old men stepped out, all of whom looked exactly alike.
"It's just a bunch of old farts." Zeb declared.
"Well-armed old men." Said Sabine.
"What do you want?" A man asked.
"We're looking for someone. Kanan replied.
"Well, that's too bad." Said the same man. "Because there's no one here."
"Hey, does the number 7567 mean anything to you?" Ezra asked.
"What did you just say?!" Asked the man in the middle.
"Uh, I said 7567." Said Ezra
"I haven't used them since... that's my birth number!" Said the man
"Birth number?" Ezra asked.
"They're clones!" Said Kanan, igniting his saber and stepping in front of the group.
"Jedi!" Said the old man on the right "they've come for revenge!"
The clone began firing at Kanan as the Jedi deflected the shots.
"At ease, soldiers!" Said the clone in the middle.
"But he's a Jedi!" Said the clone on the right.
"I know, but they're not the ones who betrayed us." Declared the clone in the middle, appearing to be the leader of the trio. "Remember Wolffe."
"Kanan, Ahsoka said to trust them." Andros said, stepping in front of the Jedi.
"Sorry about the weapons malfunction." Declared the lead clone, "it's been a long time since we've seen a Jedi."
"Well, my name is Ezra." Said padawan Ezra. "This is Kanan, Zeb, Sabine and the Dark Mandalorian."
"Andros?!" Asked the head clone, looking at Andros.
"Andros?" Ezra, Kanan and Zeb repeated.
"How do you know my name?" Asked the Dark Mandalorian as he stepped forward, ready to draw one of the pistols on his belt, wary.
The chief clone leapt from the tank's balcony and approached Andros, removing his helmet and observing him closely. The fact that the rest of the crew could so easily see his face so plainly.
"Look at you, all grown up." Said the clone. "You've got your mother's eyes and you look just like your father."
"So you know."
"You never mentioned your parents." Sabine remarked.
"Of course I know." laughed the clone. "My name's Rex. Captain of the 501st Legion, I fought alongside your mother from the Battle of Christophsis to the Siege of Mandalore."
"501st Legion... siege of Mandalore... mother's eyes... blue eyes..." Kanan murmured as he unraveled this new mystery, which intrigued the rest of the crew. Then it finally dawned on him. "I don't believe it!"
"What?" Zeb asked.
"He's Ahsoka's son." He replied, shocking Ezra, Sabine and Zeb.
"Seriously? Yet there's nothing to show that he's a hybrid." Zeb commented, looking at Andros' face, receiving an elbow from Sabine.
"Genetics is magic. The physical traits of one parent can manifest more than those of the other on their child." Andros smiles, putting his helmet back on.
"Come in. All Ahsoka's friends are my friends." Said Rex.
The clones invited the rebels into the Republic tank to look around.
"Hey, you're a big one, aren't you?" Gregor said to Zeb.
"Taller than you!" Zeb replied.
Ezra and Andros looked around and saw three old clone soldier helmets as Ezra picked one up.
"Easy with that, boy." Said Rex.
"Oh yes, I could break the dust." Ezra said sarcastically as Andros turned to Rex.
"So you're the famous Captain Rex my mother keeps talking about?" Andros asked.
"Does she ever talk about me?" Rex asked.
"Very often." Andros replied. "She used to tell me stories about you and her every night before I went to bed when I was a kid, before my father sent me to the Imperial Academy at Mandalore."
"He sent you there?" Rex asked, squinting.
"Above all, he wanted me to make friends my own age. Even if I find it a little irresponsible of him to have put me in one of their propaganda centers."
"You can't turn off your voice transformer. We've seen your face and heard your voice, so it's no use with us anymore with this thing." Ezra says carelessly.
"You're no fun." Andros growled, flipping a switch under his helmet. "Happy?"
"Very." Ezra smiled, making Rex laugh.
"Definitely his father's son." He laughs. "How are Commander Tano and your father?"
"My mother's fine. My father I don't know, it's been a long time since I've seen him. But my mother needs help." Andros declared.
"We're trying to fight the Empire but we're outnumbered and taking a beating. We need your help." Ezra begged.
"I'm not sure I'm much help to anyone these days." Said Rex, "Haven't you heard? The Emperor says the clones have served their purpose, they retired us, now we just spend our days telling stories and fighting for the Jupers."
"Ugh, that was a wasted trip, you heard the clone, he's not interested." Said Kanan as he was about to exit.
"Wait, you don't like the Empire, do you?" Ezra asked.
"Well, the Empire certainly isn't the Republic." Rex replied. "But there's nothing we can do about it."
"You can fight it." Said Ezra.
"Sorry." Said Rex "My days as a soldier are over."
"So can you at least help us find a base?" Andros asked the clone. "My mother said you knew all sorts of secret locations in the outer rim."
"My memory isn't what it used to be, but... There are a few corners I never bothered to mention to the Empire." Said Rex "Well, wait outside while I compile the coordinates."
The rebels then went outside and waited for Sabine to speak.
"So... you're Ahsoka's son?" She asked Andros, still not believing it.
"Yeah, you can't tell." Andros joked, taking off his helmet.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Kanan asked, looking at him with some suspicion.
"My father taught me that certain information must be kept to oneself... If I had, for example, told someone at the academy, it could have got out and I could have been used as bait, or sent to Mustafar."
"That's a line of reasoning that makes sense. But I hope for your sake you're not hiding anything else." Zeb growled.
Then Geroger stepped towards them.
"You know I was thinking." Said the clone. "Since we're providing locations for bases, maybe you can help us."
"No thanks." Said Kanan, not hiding his hatred of clones.
"Of course." Said Erza. "What do you need?"
"Out there, deep in the wilderness." Said the clone. "There are wild Joopa, we're lucky to catch one, they'll feed us for a whole year."
"Okay, what do you need?" Andros asked.
"Him." Said Geroger, pointing to Zeb.
"What?" Zeb asked.
Later, the Republic walker was on the move again, but Zeb was walking ahead of him while Kanan was in the Phantom at the top, working on his lightsaber while Ezra went to check it, leaving Sabine and Andros alone.
"Are you sure we can trust these guys?" Sabine asked. "Kanan told me how they betrayed the Jedi."
"It wasn't their fault." Andros declared. "Each clone had a built-in chip that made them carry out hidden orders if told to do so. One of them was to kill the Jedi. They could resist, but not disobey."
"Really?" Sabine asked.
"Yeah." Replied the dark-armored Mandalorian. "And if my mother trusts her, that's good enough for me."
"Sometimes people betray those they love." Said Sabine, looking away.
"Not everyone is like that." Andros declared.
"Yes, they are, and you know it." Said Sabine sadly.
"You're not like that." Said Andros as he approached the young woman. "I've known you long enough to be sure."
"Even after what I did to you?" Sabine asked, facing him.
"I never blamed you, Sabine. It was an accident. My only regret from that time is not being able to go away with you. Maybe it would have been different. Who knows, you could have been my sidekick." Andros declared.
"Your sidekick? Who says you couldn't have been mine?" Sabine laughed.
"With such beauty and all those bright colors, you would have been the perfect distraction." Andros joked, receiving a playful tap on the shoulder.
"I'll give you a distraction, you'll see." Sabine laughed as she blushed at her friend's compliment.
The Mandalorian girl's heart began to beat faster and faster as relief washed over her. She was so happy that, after that accident, he wasn't angry with her.
Later, the rebels and clones were in the tank when something emerged from the ground in the distance.
"Over there!" Sabine remarked.
"All right, we'll stop." Rex ordered as Wolffe brought the tank to a halt.
"You know, we really appreciate what you're doing for us." Said Gregor. "We should be doing fine today, thanks to your friend."
"I must say, Zed's pretty good." Ezra declared.
"Oh, I'm sure he is." Gregor said, laughing maniacally.
Andros then looked at Sabine and twirled his finger on one side of her head, implying that the clone was crazy while Sabine giggled.
"Joopas love Lasats." Said the clone.
"Uh, what do you mean, like them?" Sabine asked.
"Well, they love the smell... and the taste." Said the clone nervously.
"Wait, Zed isn't the hunter, he's the bait." Ezra realized.
"Well, it's the same thing." Gregor declared.
"No, it's not!" Kanan shouted from the top of the tank
Suddenly, giant holes began to form in the ground as everyone called Zeb back as a pink tentacle grabbed Zeb and pulled him down.
Wolffe led the walker to where the Joopa was taking Zeb, and after a hellish battle, Rex managed to remove the Joopa and killed it with a single cannon shot.
Gregor applauded and ran to help Zeb.
"That was impressive!" Said the old clone.
"Impressive!?" shouted Kanan "You almost killed my friend!"
Rex then dismounted and headed for Ezra and Kanan.
"We've kept our part of the bargain, Captain, now give us those coordinates so we can leave." Kanan declared.
"I'll take them, but I want you to stay for dinner." Said Rex.
"I've never said no to a free meal." Declared Andros as he tucked a data disk he'd just pulled out into his belt.
Later, as the sun set, Andros, Ezra and Sabine looked out over the horizon.
"Hey Andros, what's it like to be a hybrid?" Ezra asked, earning a puzzled look from the man concerned. "No offense."
"Oh, none taken." Andros said with a shrug. "To be honest. I've never really thought about it. Even though I'm half Togruta, on the outside everything screams 'human'. But... I always wonder if I'm the only one."
"What do you mean?" Sabine asked.
"Well, some hybrid babies usually die after birth." Andros explained. "I guess I was one of the lucky few throughout history."
Just then, Rex came out to where the teenagers were.
"I've listed a few potential bases and compensation codes that should be able to help." Declared the captain.
"Thanks Rex." Said Andros.
"They're on our main computer, you'll need data tapes." Declared Rex.
"I'll take care of it. Says Sabine entering the tank.
"You were brave today, my boy, your parents would be proud." Said the clone to the black-armored Mandalorian.
"Thank you, Rex."
"A great Jedi once said that the best leaders are formed by example, and you did very well." Rex declared.
"I'd love you to join us." Andros declared. "We could really use your help and experience, and my mom really wants to see you again."
Just then, Sabine stormed out.
"The clones sold us out!" Said Sabine "They informed the empire that we were here!"
"What?!" asked Andros.
"There must be some mistake." Said Rex.
"Oh, I found the transmission to the empire and the ones Ahsoka sent you and you never answered them." Says Sabine, holding up a tablet displaying the history of transmissions received.
"What?!" Rex asked, looking at the tablet. "I never received any messages from Commander Tano."
"I knew it!" Kanan said as he approached. "I told you we couldn't trust them!"
Ezra stopped his mentor from going any further.
"Is it true?" Andros asked Rex, who turned to Wolffe.
"Wolffe, what have you done?" Rex asked.
"I contacted the Empire, okay?" Wolffe exclaimed. "If they found out we were helping the Jedi, they'd wipe us out."
"Idiot, once they get here, they'll wipe you out!" Andros shouted.
"Sabine, warn Hera. Tell her to scan the approaching ships." Said Kanan as Sabine ran towards the Phantom.
"I wanted to protect you guys!" Wolffe said to Rex. "Protect the squad!"
"The war's over." Said Rex. "We are free men. We can't live in fear of the Empire for the rest of our lives, Wolffe!"
"I'm sorry, Rex." Wolffe declared.
"KANAN!" Sabine exclaimed as the Jedi jumped on top of her and was almost shot by a probe droid. Everyone tried to destroy the droid, but Rex killed it with a long-range sniper.
"Well shot, Captain!" Andros said as Rex smiled at the boy.
The rebels and clones approached the destroyed droid and looked at it.
"How long has that thing been following us?" Ezra asked.
"Long enough to know we're here." Andros replied. "How's the Phantom, Sabine?"
"Well, the engine's damaged, so we're not going anywhere until I can fix it." Sabine declared.
"I'll help you." Said Andros. "I know a thing or two about engines."
"You didn't know anything back then."
"I had to learn in the absence of my favorite mechanic."
"Thank you." Says Sabine, blushing slightly at that last comment.
"Wait, you mean we're stuck?" Zeb asked.
"Yeah." Said Rex. "And the Empire's on its way."
The next day, the rebels and clones tried to get away so the Empire couldn't track them down while Sabine and Andros repaired the Phantom.
"The probe is quite damaged, it may take longer than expected." Sabine declared with her helmet on her head.
"Well, we'd better do it fast, there's no telling when the Empire will get here." Said Andros, wearing his.
"Well, the Empire isn't our only problem." Says Sabine, looking at the horizon. "There's a storm coming."
"If the Empire arrives before we take off, that will be the least of our worries." Said Andros, activating his comlink. "Kanan, has Rex given you these coordinates yet?"
"Yeah, he just gave them to us now." Kanan declared via the comlink. "I'll contact Hera and see how the Phantom's doing and if the Empire's there."
"Roger, we'll let you know when the Phantom is repaired." Andros said, switching off his comlink.
Sabine and Andros continued to work on the Phantom as fast as they could.
"So your father taught you how to repair a ship?" Sabine asked.
"No. My mother." Andros replied.
"Does your mother know anything about mechanics?" Sabine asked in a surprised tone.
"Yeah, she used to fix all kinds of stuff during the Clone Wars." Said Andros. "And she passed this knowledge on to me in between a few Jedi lessons."
"Wow, she seems pretty cool." Sabine declared. "And your father."
"He's the one who taught me the most about my activities against crime syndicates." Andros explained.
"Does he hunt criminals?
"Most of the time, yes. Well, especially since I was at the academy. He used the bounties and the loot to make sure I'd get a good start in my career once I got out, and for other side activities."
"Like what?" Sabine asked curiously.
"I'll show you another day. If we can get away with it and have some free time." Andros smiled under his helmet as he continued to work on the Phantom. "And you, have you and your family been close since then?"
Sabine didn't answer as she looked sad under her helmet.
"I don't want to talk about it." She said.
"Okay, well, when you're ready, you know who you can talk to about it." Said Andros, laying a hand on her shoulder. "Because I'm always ready to listen."
Sabine blushed under her helmet as her heart began to beat rapidly again.
Just then, the two teenagers heard a loud shriek as they saw TIE fighters heading their way.
"Shit, they're here!" Said Andros.
"I'll warn the others!" Said Sabine as she climbed into the tank. Seconds later, the rebels and Rex emerged with blasters and rocket launchers.
Kanan, Ezra lit their sabers and Andros followed suit, also pulling out a semi-automatic pistol, as they stood in front of the Phantom and deflected the TIE fighter's lasers.
"I've got an idea!" said Andros, looking at the fighter, timing it perfectly and doing a Force Jump on its wing!
"Andros!" Sabine shouted, worried for her friend.
Andros clung to the wing and concentrated with the Force to give it strength and, suddenly, spun the TIE fighter around at full speed and hurled it uncontrollably to the ground, causing it to explode, while the Darth Mandalorian landed on the Phantom and the rebels and clones all looked on in shock.
"That was... awesome!" Ezra shouted excitedly as Andros jumped off the Phantom.
"How did you do that?" Kanan asked.
"It's all in the timing." Andros declared. "Now, Sabine and I should probably get back to work on the Phantom before the storm gets any closer."
"I'm right behind you." Said Sabine as the two teenagers got back to work.
Later, the clones and rebels were monitoring the storm and keeping an eye on the Empire.
While Andros was working on the Phantom with Sabine, he overheard Rex talking about the Jedi he was serving with, which caught the hybrid's attention.
"I'll be right back." He said to Sabine as he approached Ezra and Rex. "You're talking about Anakin, aren't you?" He asked as Rex turned to face him.
"So your mother told you about him." Said Rex
Andros smiled
"He was the only person she talked about more than you, no offense to anyone. My dad talked about him too, but he referred to him as, and I quote, 'a big pain in the ass'."
"I'm not surprised," Rex laughed.
"Could someone enlighten me here?" asked Ezra as Andros stood next to his friend.
"Anakin Skywalker was one of the greatest and most powerful Jedi of the Clone Wars, rumored to be the chosen one." Andros declared, seeming to be hiding something else.
"The chosen one?" Ezra asked, confused.
"Kanan never told you about the prophecy?" Andros asked, while Ezra shook his head.
"According to what my parents told me, there would be a being in the universe whose connection to the force would be so strong that he would have the ability to control both light and darkness and would be able to destroy the Sith and bring balance to the force."
"Wow." Says Ezra. "Do you know what happened to him?"
"I can only assume he was killed with the rest of the Jedi, during the purge." Andros replied.
"Okay, with any luck, we'll be out of here soon." Sabine declared.
"We can't leave Rex, Wolffe and Gregor here." Said Ezra.
"The Empire is here because of us." Said Rex. "So this is our fight."
Just then, the rebels and the clone heard footsteps as Rex switched on his scope and saw AT-ATs heading straight for them.
"How many legs do they have?" Wolffe asked.
"Four. Gregor replied.
"How come they didn't fall?" Wolffe asked.
"Did you see the size of those things?!" Gregor asked.
"Wolffe, turn us around." Said Rex as he sat down in the main gun.
"Wait, you're just going to run away?" Kanan asked.
"If you've got a better idea, now's the time." Rex declared.
"I thought you clones liked to fight." Said Kanan.
"I like battles, but on my terms." Rex declared.
Wolffe managed to turn the tank around as the walker began firing at them.
"Kanan, I don't know how far, but I think the Phantom will fly." Sabine declared.
"That's good enough for me, let's go!" Says Kanan
"Too late, they're already on us!" said Rex.
"He's right, they're going to shoot us down!" Declared Andros.
"How?! Are we in this storm?" Asked the Jedi.
"Well, that will confuse the scanners and we'll all be blind." Sabine replied.
"But a Jedi won't be," said Rex.
"All right, everyone inside!" Kanan ordered as clones and rebels rushed into the tank and into the storm.
During the storm, the rebels and clones were trying to work out a plan to escape the Empire.
"We can't hide forever in this storm." Ezra declared.
"These walker armors are blaster-resistant." Sabine declared. "But there is one weakness, the neck."
"One good shot should destroy it." Gregor declared.
"That's all we've got, is one shot. Rex declared.
"How are we supposed to photograph something we can't see?" Zeb asked, looking at the scanner.
"You don't always have to see something to know where it is." Kanan declared/ "If you trust me, I can tell you where to shoot."
"I always trust my general." Rex declared.
Kanan stretched out his arm and tried to sense where the enemy was.
"Stop now!" Ordered the Jedi as Wolffe brought the tank to a halt.
"Wolffe turns left in two steps!" Kanan said as Wolffe turned left.
"Stop!" Kanan ordered as the tank came to a halt.
"We're surrounded. Kanan declared.
"What!?" Ezra exclaimed.
"We're right in the middle of their group" Rex declared. "This is our chance! It's crazy, but it's probably our best chance".
"Once we shoot, we reveal our location." Sabine declared.
"So once we shoot, we'd better move two steps away." Andros declared.
"In that case, Andros had better shoot." Kanan declared.
"Are you sure?" Asked the Dark Mandalorian.
"Trust your instincts and you'll be fine." Kanan declared.
Andros took a moment to think it over.
"Okay, I'll do it." He said.
"Sabine, help him reach the cannon. Said Rex as Sabine and Andros headed for the main cannon.
"Andros." Rex shouted. "Good luck."
"Thanks Rex." Said Andros, talking with Sabine.
Outside the tank, Sabine helped Andros reach the main gun and he sat down inside.
"Try not to miss, okay." Said Sabine
"Have you ever seen me miss a target?" Andros asked.
"Before or after I taught you to aim?" Sabine retorted, remembering how much fun it was to have the last word on him.
"Andros, there's a walker towards point 5." Kanan said through Rex's helmet.
"Understood." Andros said, turning the gun to the right.
Andros removed Rex's helmet and remembered what his parents had taught him. He used the Force to search for the walker, then saw the next one as if it were day and fired the cannon, which hit its target full force, causing the walker to collapse.
"Got him!" Said Andros as the tanks began to move very fast while the other walkers started firing at them.
Fortunately, the tank managed to ride out the storm as the others climbed onto the tank.
"Good shot, kid!" Said Rex "Move now, it's your only chance!"
"We can't leave you here!" Said Andros
"We have to pass on the information to the Andros rebellion." Said Kanan as he and the others climbed into the Phantom.
Andros simply stood there and looked at Rex.
"Don't worry about me, just save yourself!" Rex said. "And say hello to your mother for me."
Andros stood there for a moment and slowly entered the Phantom while Rex sat in the main gun.
"We're Andros soldiers! That's what we were born to do!" Rex shouted to the Hybrid as the Phantom's hatch closed and lifted off.
As the Phantom flew further and further away from the clones, Andros decided to take matters into his own hands. He handed Sabine his helmet, stood up and approached Kanan.
"Kanan, get out of that chair." Andros said in a stern, firm voice.
"What?" Kanan asked.
"I told you to get your ass out of that chair!" Andros shouted, using the force to lift Kanan out of the pilot's seat, throwing him onto Zeb who caught him as Andros sat on the seat and spun the ship around.
"Andros, what are you doing?!" Sabine exclaimed.
"I'm succeeding in the mission and bringing a family friend home!" Said Andros as he picked up speed and engaged the walkers in battle.
He began firing at the walker the tank was battling as it flew over the second and Kanan, Ezra and Zeb jumped on. Rex then contacted the Phantom through his helmet.
" Andros, what are you doing?! "
"Saving your ass!" Said Andros.
" I told you to leave! "
"Not without you, you're coming with us whether you like it or not!" Said the Hybrid as he continued firing.
Then the other three rebels managed to take control of the other walker and fired at the first, then Rex got a clear shot in the neck and collapsed the walker, the clones and rebels won the battle as Hera flew the Ghost as the rebels and Rex climbed aboard.
Later, the Ghost crew and Andros were aboard a rebel shuttle where Ahsoka was waiting. She then walked forward and saw her old friend for the first time in years.
"Commander." Rex greeted as the former Jedi approached the clone. "You've aged."
"It was bound to happen one day, Rex." Said Ahsoka as she hugged her friend.
"I'm glad to see you alive." Said Rex, returning her embrace.
"Me too." Said Ahsoka before breaking the embrace.
"I wouldn't be here if it weren't for your son and his friends." Said Rex as Andros approached.
"Well, if there's one thing I don't do, it's abandon my family." Andros declared.
"Thank you for trusting my friend." Said Ahsoka to the Ghost crew.
"It wasn't easy." Kanan said, looking at Rex. "It's still not easy."
"The important things never are." Ahsoka declared.
Later that night, Sabine was on her way to her room when she heard a voice.
"Sabine." she heard, turning her head to see Andros.
"Oh hi, Andros." She said as her friend approached her.
"Listen, I want to apologize for asking about your family. I know it can be hard to talk about."
"No, it's okay." Said Sabine. "It's just... I'm not ready to talk about it yet."
"I understand." Says Andros. "But when you are..."
"You'll be the first to know." Says Sabine
"Okay." Said Andros, then yawned. "I don't know about you, but this mission has worn me out."
"Same here." Sabine yawned "I could use some sleep too."
"Okay, see you in the morning." Andros said on his way out.
As Sabine entered her room, her heart began to beat faster than before as she put her hand on it and leaned against her door.
"What's happening to me?" Sabine wondered, "Why is my heart starting to beat like that again when I'm with him?"
Sabine took a moment to think of a reason, and her eyes widened as she thought of something.
"Andros... Do I still have feelings for you after so long?" she thought.
