Chapter Thirty-Nine:
The next morning I have school. Waking to my alarm, I see a note next to my alarm clock. It's from Jasper. His neat handwriting stands out from anyone I know today.
My dearest Ally,
I'll be back this morning to pick you up. After school I have a surprise for you.
Your love, Jasper Whitlock.
I smile after reading his note. I wonder what my surprise is. Getting out of bed, I shower quickly. Running downstairs, I greet dad and Bella. Grabbing myself a cup of liquid gold, aka coffee.
Chugging it down, I head out the front door after two car horn beeps. I see Jasper standing, leaning against his motorcycle. He's wearing his leather jacket, dark blue jeans, and his hair is slicked back by the wind. He looks mouthwatering handsome.
I meet his gaze after inspecting him, as my eyes travel up, I notice his tight fitting black shirt underneath the jacket. His stare is intense, his lips quirk up in a smirk, half his teeth showing. My arms go around his waist under his jacket in a tight hug.
His arms go around me, leaning his head down. I'm hyper aware of all his movements. "Hop on darlin'" he whispers next to my ear. There's hints of a growl in his voice.
Pulling back, we lock eyes again, his orbs are laced with golden brown and red. Turns out I'm not the only one affected. I step around him and get on his bike. "You coming, cowboy?" I ask, my voice barely above a whisper.
Taking a deep breath, he turns around his iris' fully red "you're going to be the death of me little one". He throws a leg over his bike behind me.
"Major" I gasp quietly as he starts his bike. It rumbles to life, purring beneath me. I can feel his pants tightening behind me. I lean back against his chest.
Putting an arm around my waist, he pulls me tight against him. "Hold on tight doll". His voice is more gruff, accent thicker.
With his arm sinching myself to him, he takes off, steering with one arm. We arrive at school shortly after, the tension between us is so thick with need and lust. I can't tell if it's just my own or Jasper projecting his onto me. All I know is the ache between my legs is not being helped by that stupid smirk of his.
I took my first three classes to calm down, the ache has lessened significantly. Lunch is a different story. Jasper is waiting for me at the classroom door for me. Blushing, I place my hand on the crook of his elbow, as we walk to the cafeteria to where the rest of the Cullen clan reside.
I catch Bella's gaze, turning away quickly, I can still feel her gaze on the back of my head. Pretty soon, she'll burn holes into my skull. Jasper abruptly stops and whips his head around. I pity Bella currently for the glare Jasper just shot her with.
"You didn't have to do that" I say with a small smile. "But thank you".
"I was tired of her making you feel like that, so I figured I'd give her a taste of her own medicine, and you're welcome, angel." he says quietly.
The rest of lunch, Bella didn't stare at me again. The relief I felt was instant. Edward still continued to stare at her. "That doesn't look like you're redirecting her" Rose snarked to him.
"I will during Biology," Edward said with impatience. Ripping his gaze from Bella, he faces the rest of the table, sending a slight glare my way. Right before the school bell rang, Edward stood up aggressively. Leaving for his next class.
Once the bell rings, the rest of us take our leave, going our separate ways. My next three classes go by quickly. Jasper and I walk out of school, Bella and Edward walking out together.
Meeting up with the rest of the family, minus Edward. "Well I guess he's given up on redirecting her" Rose says, her anger clear on her face. Letting go of Jasper's arm, I walk over to Rosalie, giving her a hug.
"I've seen them in my visions. And they'll be happy together" Alice says, her bell-like voice ringing out.
"I know you think they'll be happy together, Allie, but they're not meant to be. As much as I want Edward to be happy. I want it to be because he found his mate" Liam says to his mate.
"We all want Edward to be happy, but Bella is his blood singer, not his mate" Emmitt adds on.
"I know," Alice says, slightly defeated with a sigh.
The group of us look back to Edward and Bella. Jasper seems to be extra focused on the pair. I know Alice has hope for Bella and Edward, if it'll make him happy for a short while. I know Jasper waited a whole lot longer than Edward did, and he never actively sought someone else out besides his mate.
The rest of the week goes similarly, Edward and Bella talk in the parking lot after school, hanging out by her rust bucket of a truck. And every day the Cullen's and I watch them, making sure that Edward isn't giving any big secrets out.
So far Edward has hinted at the idea of himself and the Cullen's being something other than human. Which made Rosalie and Jasper especially angry, as they both have the same views on keeping their secret.
Friday, Jasper and the family didn't attend school, as it was a sunny day. And they can't expose themselves. Bella ended up inviting herself along with Jessica, Angala, and myself. Bella hates dress shopping, so I have no idea why she'd want to go with us.
Waking up Saturday morning, it's dress shopping day with the girls. So far, I've just been reading my book, which I've just gotten to the good part of when I check the time.
It's almost four. Shit.
I knock on Bella's door, to which it pushes open slightly. She's not in here, and she's not in the shower. Stepping inside, I see her laptop open to a bookstore sight, and a piece of paper, with an address and a book title scribbled on it.
What the hell?
Glancing at the laptop quickly. I understand now why she wanted to go with us. Rushing out of her room and back to mine. I rip my phone off of the charger. I call Rose.
She answers on the first ring. "Alice said you'd be calling."
"I don't know what to do, Rose. Bella has a book, and she's going to use it to figure you guys out." I say as quickly as possible.
"Calm down honey. Everything will be okay. Just try not to let her get that book" Rose says in a mothering tone. "Deep breaths, in and out slowly" she continues when my breathing gets heavier.
Steadying my breathing, calming myself down, "I'll do my best" I say.
"That's all we expect, nothing more" she says, voice slightly cracking through my speaker.
Ending the phone call I begin to pace my room trying to think of anything that could help. I can't tell Bella not to get the book, it would only make her more curious. I can't not just not do anything either. I need to go to the bookstore with her.
Coming up with a plan in my head, I swiftly open my door, heading back to Bella's room, knocking on the door again, she opens it. "Yes?" she asks.
"We'll be leaving soon. You're still coming with me, right?" I ask.
"Yeah. Let me just grab my things real quick." She says surprisingly nicely.
Brushing off her weird behavior, I head to the kitchen and wait for her. She comes out with her brown and green bag. Leaving dad a quick note, we head out the door to my car.
