In the morning Nos was waking up to his inner alarm and got up feeling groggy. However, his thoughts were yesterday's events. The dance, the kiss, the bites- he stops and looks to his neck and sees they were slightly scarring and a dark spot. Changing to his organic form…. It was a different story. They looked like bite marks and they looked bruised. He needed to cover it up somehow before anyone saw it. He looked through his clothes and found one that can cover it but he could not help but feel off about today. 'I feel like there is something bad occurring soon.' He did not know how to describe it but he felt it was dreadful while putting his clothes on. He however gets a call and answers.
"Hello?" Nos asked.
"Papa, I wanted to tell you I'm at school already. Bunicul wanted to let you sleep in a bit longer."
Nos smiles to hear Vanet was at school. "That is wonderful dear; I will pick you up after school." Nos sits up and stretches his body. "Stay in the library after school."
"Okay, papa. I love you!"
Nos smiles. "I love you too little bat." He hears her end the connection and looks at his schedule. He had a free day but he needed to work in his lab too. He lists things he needed to work on when his work comm goes off and groans before he answers.
"Ryder, this is my day off so there better be a good reason to call me." Nos growls.
"Better be cleaning up because there's someone sent from that childcare service! They are trying to blindside you! The only upside is they are having me take them there and keep them not knowing the whereabouts of your home location. I'll buy you some time but get your ass into gear!"
Nos stops in his tracks and hurries up to clean and fix everything he can around his home. His father was already out to his cafe so he cannot reach out to him so he was double timing it. He set everything and hid away the batteries and anything that was a hazard and his tata's collection of weapons in his time. He made sure everything, even his lab, was ready. It took him 20 minutes and groans but remembered the drawing of Vanet's in the lab and pictures. He hurries down and carefully puts them away along with his photos in his secret compartment. He puts his extra parts away and repairs tools before he hears a knock on the door.
He took a deep breath and walked up and out of his lab and down the hall to the front door. 'It is just an inspection, I can handle this.' He thought and took hold of the door handle but the second he opens it, he sees Buzz Lightyear nearly pushing himself in.
'What the bloody hell?!' He was wide eyed and shocked to see the space ranger here as the child care service inspector walked in. She was a green woman with features and skin of a reptile and she was recognized as the most thorough and very perceptive in her line of work. But she was also the most feared due to her high expectations.
"Good morning Ms. Petrify." Nos spoke, he had to thank XR for the help.
"Morning to you too, Mr. Atu. I was called to replace Ms. Lovett who seems to cancel for a date and Mr. Lightyear is here to assist in the inspection and evaluation which I see is-"
"Very necessary!" Buzz intervened. "From what I heard, a villain attacked you at your shop. Now as a protector like myself, we need to make sure of you are even capable of protecting this child-"
"Vanet Helsing Atu." Nos cuts him off.
Buzz was startled and glares. "You shouldn't-"
"If you are going to speak in such a harsh way, at least respect my daughter. She is not just a child, she is my daughter." Nos glares but falters when the inspector is writing and hums in distaste of the conversation.
Buzz however coughs. "Well, Miss Helsing's safety is important. but please let's talk first. This door looks weak. Easy to break don't you think?"
Bamm! Bamm!
Both inspector and Buzz were startled but saw Nos pulled the inspector to him and used himself as a shield. Nos waited and stood up and helped Ms. Petrify up.
"Are you alright?" Nos asked.
"I am fine." The inspector goes to the door to see it was unscathed!
"My bad." Ryder walks up to them as he puts his blaster away. "Just wanted to demonstrate my answer to this lovely door Madame president and Nos worked on. This door looks simple but it's a special metal that can absorb and block out any weapons. My blaster shoots special acid to destroy. After seeing it yourself, you see Nos works hard to secure his daughter's safety."
Nos sees the women write. "Thank you Ryder for the unnecessary show."
"No problem." Ryder spoke.
Buzz clears his voice. "Can we get the evaluation started?"
Nos took a deep breath and lead the inspector to the living room. "Would you like a cup of coffee or tea or any beverage in mind?"
"I'll have a soda." Buzz interjected.
"We do not have any sodas but juices or milk and tea and coffee." Nos replies.
"Why won't she have a soda?" Buzz asked.
"Because she does not like sodas. Her late mother taught her that sodas are too sugary." Nos answers but sees the woman writing and feels worried.
"So tell us, Mr. Atu, where are you from?" Buzz asked.
"May I ask why are you asking when Miss Petrify should be asking?" Nos glares at Buzz
"Why were we traveling in tunnels?" She asked.
"I was given permits to make tunnels for not just my daughter but for the citizens. I did not get to grow up in a small town but I feel at home and the people here are compassionate and kind. They welcomed me despite who I am. I will admit I am an ex criminal-"
"So you are a bad guy-"
"Mr. Lightyear, I will report you to your higher ups and I don't mean star command!" Ms. Petrify hisses. "Please continue."
"Thank you. I was an ex criminal and my adopted father who took me in, gave me a new view of life. I ended up helping him and even sometimes helped the town when they did need help. Later he gave me a shop to work in after seeing my talent as a sculptor. Of course people were wary of me but at the same time kind. I never experienced such because of my appearance before. But they accepted me and I felt a sense of belonging. So to answer the question, these tunnels are made to help keep the people safe even with their maze-like town from intruders."
He hears her humming and writing away.
"So how did you meet Vanet? I have seen the reports but I would like to hear from you." Ms. Petrify asks
"I was going to the city to buy gems when we crossed paths by chance. She was being chased by two men. It was odd how the capital city, which is watched by space rangers, was none to be seen. I hesitated, being an ex criminal, I could be seen again as a criminal. However, seeing the fear," he stops remembering that moment. "... I understand that fear when you are being hunted. It was not a simple kidnapping and I ran after them and," he grips his hands. "I saw them holding out blasters, illegal kinds, aiming at a little girl who could not protect herself." He controls his emotions. "I felt rage."
Ms. Petrify was quiet. "And that was when you attacked them and later reported to them. May I ask why you were keeping her with you?"
"When you notice things, you can tell there was more to their actions. I was suspicious of them and Ryder was there as well after I brought her to safety. I knew one fact: no child should be hunted or harmed but I did not trust anyone." He replies.
"... Is that when you joined GAF?" She asked.
"Yes, though I will admit, I did not wish to join. I never want to be a hero or a savior to anyone because certain people would discriminate against me. However I knew Vanet needed protection and I wanted to be her protector so it worked out. I will say this on record, I want to protect my world and that world is the people I care about. I do not see myself as a hero. I find this job as any opportunity other than a safety for Vanet where I can not."
Buzz was quiet and the inspector hummed. "May you give us a tour of the house?" Ms. Petrify stood up.
"Of course." Nos stood up.
20 minutes and 60 self restraints moments later
'This is enough for a lifetime!' He thought as Buzz Lightyear, in his home, making unneeded comments as the child care inspector was looking and writing things down. Nos had made preparations perfectly to show he was a capable parent for Vanet, Lightyear thought otherwise. He explained the attic is unavailable for they were reworking on it for the coming winter which was a relief on his part. But working from up to down was a drag and painful. Of course He showed them his room that had a bed (he hid his coffin within it). Respectfully did not show his father room but Buzz barged in and saw it was a simple room. The worst of all was the fact he destroyed a door his father carved and made.
He had with all his will and self control to not want to kill that idiot.
"Are you sure an old time house can sustain the weather? It seems not up to date." Buzz knocks on the door.
"My father's home has been here for 300 years, it has been modified over the years but only to adapt to the storms and possible Earthquakes or other natural disasters. He believed it is important to keep the past of our family's work to the present."
"But he isn't directly related to you so how are you related to him if not blood?" Buzz asked.
"I am not his son by blood, but I try my utmost best to be the son he can be proud of. He accepted Vanet as his granddaughter because it is not the blood that makes a family, but the people that work and grow together."
Buzz was quiet. "I hardly believe he accepted you as family."
Nos bites down his tongue as Buzz continues to make more of his snide comments.
Nos was forced to bite any words and control his anger through this but this was stressfully painful to not kick Buzz out. He stood by and watched the inspector after coming from the kitchen and went into his lab now.
"Is this your lab?" Ms. Petrify asked and looked around.
"It is." Nos answers, he made sure to keep his parts hidden away just in case and it was a good idea. "Do you have any concerns you wish to ask?"
"Are there any chemicals you use in the lab?" She looks around.
"No, I prefer to draw out models here. My lab is more for drawing up the models and working on devices that can develop to help stun people more effectively and less prone to give after effects that can interfere with the alliance if one were to say it was intentional to ruin the peace treaty."
"Do you keep this lab locked while on the job and when young Helsing's at home whether you are here or not?"
"Yes." Nos answers but times like these, he wished his Tata or-
"Hey Nosy~!"
All heads turn but Nos was shocked to see XR entering his lab. "Sorry I'm late, I got stuck in traffic and I was hoping to see you today to pick up Vanet together. I also brought some snacks your dad asked me to bring without explaining to me but I didn't know you were having company."
Nos stiffened but XR was in a simple summer casual shirt and pants. He didn't tense, but he was more flustered when XR kissed him just near his lips. "Hi, I'm Xavier Richard Newman!" He shakes the inspector's hand-claw and shakes Buzz's hand but he saw that Buzz was suspicious of him already. It was really something to be the focus of suspicion but he was determined to support Nos.
'And impress Nos.'
Nos didn't get a chance to speak when his face darkens when he feels an arm wrap around his hips. He tenses but watches while XR explains himself.
"Really? How long have you known Mr. Atu?" The lady asked curiously.
XR simply smiles and starts his answers. "It was about two years ago. We weren't on the best of terms, we were not even friends until a year later. I mean at first I thought he was just a jerk." XR didn't want to make it worse so he toned it enough. "That changed when I started seeing him differently, my resentment changed to sympathy since we had fathers that didn't respect us or appreciate us." He ignored his friend's shocked look and continued on. "Nos went through a lot, trying to show his ex father his accomplishments. But after he was disowned, his new father figure showed him he could be more than who he was before. Of course when I found out about him being here, I had to see him….. But as hurtful as it sounds, I wanted to make him feel bad and possibly tell everyone where he was. But then I couldn't after seeing him again."
"Of course you couldn't," Buzz walks over to him with a smile, reaching to pat his shoulder. "It's obvious you're being a better man-"
"Nos is the better man." XR pulled away and stood by Nos wrapping his arm around him. "I couldn't do that to him because…. A part of me missed him. He made me who I am in a good way, sort of speaking. So, I pretended not to know him and I'm pretty sure he did the same but I started to see he wasn't the same as before." XR smiles and Nos smiles a bit.
"How did you fall for him?" Buzz asked, it was easy to tell this had to be XR but he didn't know how XR met him. He needed to know just who this guy was and if he was even who he says he is now!
"I'm getting there. Look I probably sound terrible but while I was dating this girl, I was falling for him romantically." He bluntly stated and saw Buzz was shocked. "I didn't know it at the time until a friend pointed it out later, right after my break up. To be fair, my ex and I were growing apart and she cheated on me first."
Nos knew at this point XR was being honest but he felt partially relieved yet a bit alarmed that he was not exactly stealing XR, but he was considered the other bot at this view point.
"Mr. Newman, surely your ex has understood what she did wrong," Buzz spoke. "Maybe there's a way to-"
"No there isn't." XR glares. "Look just because there were good memories, that doesn't mean it's a good enough reason to be back together. I gave her my all but she stopped meeting me halfway and when I caught her, I also caught her trying to flirt with Nos and he doesn't fancy women!"
XR took a moment. "But when he heard I was at his dad's cafe, he ran to the cafe. And before you ask, Vanet was with his friend who is her godmother. He was there when I needed him."
"Mr. Newman, surely you had friends-"
"That's the problem, they are people I work with and I didn't want to stay in the building. It was no longer feeling safe." XR answers and sees Buzz look crushed by his answer. "Nos was a friend I needed and someone I really fell for. As an outside viewer, Vanet is safe with him, he would take on anything to keep her safe
He has made her smile and not alone. Heck, on his day off, he and I brought her to that zoo/aquarium to let her have fun. He delivered a bat's babies! He even helps her understand her homework.
Nos felt his core flutter, it was the most romantic and incredibly the most awkward time to tell him.
"I have been around him long enough to know him best and being his partner," he holds his hand. "I want to be part of his and Vanet's life."
Buzz knew XR had to be lying to help this guy. "This is obviously-"
"So sweet!" The lady coos. "I must say this is very romantic and the fact you stayed by his side the whole time." Ms. Petrify looks at Nos. "By any chance, are you living with Mr. Atu?"
"As much as my partner is sweet," Nos felt embarrassed when his voice croaked. "I believe moving in is something I would first talk to Vanet and my father about. This is my Tata's home, I cannot simply break his rules. He is old fashioned and Vanet's thoughts on this are important too." He added.
XR blinked and was a bit embarrassed, mostly because he was already thinking of proposing to live with Nos had Buzz and the childcare services didn't come. He felt Nos squeezed his hand as if reading his mind.
"Well I will report this up to them and regarding Mr. Lightyear's…. Comments, you have kept this more secured and safe for her. You passed all the necessary requirements as a legal guardian. All that is left is to come to court to finalize your guardianship to Vanet Helsing." She calmly spoke. "And Mr. Atu, I am very well aware of your past but I see you have changed for the better." She left outside.
Nos was surprised and felt relief but Buzz was not the most jolly. He looks to Buzz who glares at him but ignores him. "I need to ask, why are you here? This does not concern you."
Whatever he had wanted to say, Nos can assume Buzz is not going to say with XR here. "I'm heading back, XR you better explain all of this when you return to Star command." Buzz glares at Nos once more before looking to XR
'Why the bloody hell does he glare at me most of the time?' Nos kept away from Lightyear. 'Whatever it is, I want nothing with him. (Has no clue about the media news and rumors.)
XR only smiles. "Of course but I'm going to spend time with my boyfriend if you don't mind and I promised to hang out with Vanet today." He could tell he couldn't pull the wool over him but he looked to Nos who was quiet. 'Please tell me I didn't ruin my chance with Nos.'
When Buzz was out of range, Nos was the first to break the silence. "XR thank you for helping me." Nos spoke. "I want to talk to you-"
"I do too." XR looks at him. "I'm sorry I barged in like that and yeah you probably didn't need me-"
"XR."
"Let me finish." XR holds his hands. "Nos, I didn't just do this to help you. I like like like like you Nos, a lot more than just a crush!" He felt Nos was going to say something that could break his core and even though he knows Nos did not reject him, there was a chance he could now. "I love you Nos and spending time with you, I got to know the Nos I didn't know were there and I'm happy I got to know that side of you. And that is you no matter what!" He smiles thinking how much has changed this year. "I know we're great friends- better than great but I get sad because one day if you marry someone else, I can't be around you as much and I won't get to be with you. But I hate the idea of not being with you and it's not about friendship or the ifs. I want to be selfish and have you for myself. But I also don't want you to hate me for it so I didn't know how because it's the first time I really developed feelings and it's without the usual love at first sight! I don't want to lose you and I don't want to let someone have you." He keeps holding his hands. "If I sound crazy then I am because I am crazy for you." He said everything and Nos shifts to his original form and looks at him.
"XR, what I want to say that I could not yesterday," Nos moves his hand away and cups his face. "I love you too," Nos pauses and begins his turn. "I fell for you since you beat me but I did not know what it was until it was after I was destroyed and came back together." Nos saw XR was quiet, letting him continue. "I envied how different you were back then; even through my control, you broke out of it. I was frustrated but yet at the same time marveled by you." Nos smiles in awe at XR each time they cross paths. "I wished I had the same strength and courage, maybe there was a chance we could have been friends before. If I had more will over my core, I would want to be good.
After having another chance, I had accepted not having you romantically or even as a friend in my life if it meant you would not have to worry about your nightmares. Not having to fear about coming after you.
That is until things changed, when we met again. When I saw you, I was nervous but not enough when I wanted to protect you as you stopped the bomb. I have so much faith in you because you can do it and you are a great hero. Since that day, I was worried about stepping over boundaries, but you became special to me over time. As much as I wanted you, I was worried that if I confessed my feelings to you, there is a guarantee that you would reject me especially when I learned you were taken." Nos accepted that well and focused on his own path he wanted.
"I was content to be your friend, yet deep down, I was falling for you every moment and I was worried I could lose you if I showed any feelings to you. I felt guilty and I tried to keep it locked up, it was why I was afraid of getting close to you even when you broke it off with 42. My feelings kept building up when we got closer and it was harder to push them back. I love you XR, but I worry that you can lose everything just for being with me."
"So what?" XR wraps his arms around him. "Nos I love you, what's so wrong about that?"
Nos however was still concerned. "XR, you have a life! You have fans, people that love you! I was a criminal, close to being the next tyrant. I was made to be a monster-" he was pinned to the wall and was held not by humanoid XR, but by XR's own original self. He blushes when XR leans up and kisses him. When they pulled apart, Nos was surprised.
"Nos I don't want a life without you. If Star Command wants to out me, I'll walk out. I've put myself out for my pops to show I'm a great space ranger many times." XR noticed his world got bigger and he made friends even with enemies he thought wouldn't happen because of Nos. He was improving himself because he was holding back for some he realized are now behind him. He was making his own choices. "I know that I can't always make him proud or convince him we're family; it doesn't matter to me what happens next! I do know this: I don't want to give you up baby!" XR grins and Nos turns dark blue making XR chuckles before kissing his cheek and Nos looks away only to regret it when XR kisses his neck. Feeling Nos could slip out, he wraps his arms around him and holds him better. "So stop telling me the downs of being with you and let's be together through the good and the bad." He kissed him again and held him tightly to his body.
Nos kisses him back, he will stop giving up what he wants. "Would you… Like to go on a date? This weekend?" Nos asked.
"Definitely!" XR grins. "I can't wait!" He kisses him again before letting go of him. "So, wanna go and pick up Vanet together?"
"She will not be out until 12 and it is around 9 am." Nos chuckles and XR grins.
"So what I'm hearing is we can spend some quality time together~" he grins until his comm was beeping and grumbles. "Or I go and deal with Buzz and then come back? This way I don't have to go after and cut time with you and Vanet." XR hugs him tightly.
"Just be safe. Please." Nos wraps his arms around him but feels XR kisses his cheek and he reciprocates the affection.
"Of course! I wouldn't miss time with you both for anything." XR grins into the kiss once more and gets a shock of energy given. He could feel his core was pulsing but eased his excitement. "Welp, better get going but I'll see you in less than hour." He felt Nos kiss his cheek and nuzzled against him.
It took a bit but they separated and XR waves him off and hurries out. "I'll be back before it's time to pick up Vanet, Babe!" He shouted while flying out.
Nos waves back and was turning dark blue but he could not help but feel excited to go out with him. He was happy not only for passing on the evaluation but to have the courage to tell him how he feels.
"Nothing can ruin this…" He thought as he went to call his tata about his door.
Star command
'Nothing could ruin this!' XR was feeling higher than the space clouds out in the Centura alpha system, mostly because he finally got the guts to ask Nos out! He felt nothing could stop him!
"Hey XR."
XR stops and looks to see 42 and so ends his happy mood. He hasn't talked with her at all since he gave her the boot and called her out. He didn't like the smile much less the crazy look she was trying too hard to hide. "Listen, I gotta go and do a report, important stuff, and I don't want to talk to you so byyyyyyeeeeee!" he sped out before she could get a word out. He didn't want to hear what she had to say and hurried to see Buzz.
He treads to see Buzz was in the lab and was looking albeit calm but frustrated. "Buzz, I guess this is between us?" He asked.
"Why Nosferatu? Why him?" Buzz has been trying to wrap his head around this since he got here. It wasn't just the fact his friend likes guys, it was with a guy who was a criminal that the GAF chose! A criminal who was in higher regards than him!
"Buzz, I fell for Nos for more than a while. You already heard what I said back there, and I love him. I know you're gonna tell me I'm rushing it but I got to know him better-"
"Did you know he was a criminal? That he was a bad guy?" Buzz glares.
"So is Warp and I don't see you treating him like one." XR glares at him. "Yes I know he's an ex-criminal, but he is trying to make a better choice and he's improving himself. I got to know him better-"
"Criminals are and always will be criminals!" Buzz was worried this supposed new man would hurt his friend or use him for any criminal acts. He pats his friend thinking bringing up 42 can change his mind. "You just only dated one girl who messed up. I know your mad but she is trying to be a better robot and isn't interconnection a normal-"
"This is why I didn't come to you Buzz for help." XR changed to his humanoid self, he got the hang of getting clothes on easier and pushed Buzz away. "I'm not like all the other robots who think interconnection is just a way to get data and share it around like a usb. You don't know how much you can love someone and can have something personal to share with and see it as a special thing. To you, being a robot is nothing much but I'm not an ordinary robot in case you forgot you have a core that is programmed like an organ." XR stares at him angrily. "When 42 couldn't have a core, I tried my hardest to be her anchor, her support. I loved her, past tense, I helped her no matter what. I gave up missions for her to take on so that she can feel she is amazing." He was near a breaking point with this but he needed his friend to understand he isn't going back to her.
"And she cheated on me emotionally and physically through an interconnection. You're right, it's normal to share data but she was sharing my data, my memories with Bob! She was in his arms! She loved it the whole time and she was talking bad about me and my friends! I have been trying my hardest not to start problems but she and many other people and even you have been making it hard! You have been trying to give me dating advice! Of all people here, you are the last person I'd get advice from! At least Booster doesn't act like he's perfect!"
Buzz didn't think twice seeing his friend was not seeing the bigger picture so he needs to get through to him. He needed to get his friend to see it. "Coming from a robot who's lying to a criminal for something that isn't there and it's not because you don't have a heart!" He was not going to lose his friend. "XR, you think a low life won't-!"
XR punched Buzz in the face. "You take that back!"
Buzz felt his lip bleeding. "XR you are hiding-" he dodges another hit.
"I meant calling Nos a low life! Nos is not a low life you sludge pile dickstick!" XR throws another but Buzz blocks and tries to pin him. However XR just pushes him off and fights him, at this point both men are fighting. That is until XR was pulled away by Booster.
"You know why you and Ozma didn't work out!? Because of your narcissistic ego! You're a self righteous jerk who is obsessed over Zurg for the dumbest littlest acts. The only reason you hate Nos is because he's not like you! He doesn't want to be a hero and people likes it while you have this need to be the only great hero everyone wants to have! XR glares and let's Booster pull him away as Warp comes in and blocks Buzz.
Buzz tried to push Warp off but he wouldn't budge. "Nosferatu is not who he is and I'll prove it! You'll see!"
"Buzz!" Mira rushes in and sees Warp was stopping Buzz.
"Buzz! Get a grip!" Warp stops him.
"I was trying to stop him from making a big mistake-!" Buzz stops and looks at his friend. "He's making a terrible-"
"You are making an ass out of yourself!" Warp stops him. "Look, take a fly with me to Cosmo's and we'll talk."
Buzz glares but deflates his anger. "... Fine."
Mira felt relieved but looked to Warp who was silently apologizing to her. She smiles, mouthing out "*We can have another day. Help him.*"
He gave her a smile and walked away with Buzz. As they walked down the halls, he ignored the looks and glares from other space rangers.
"I can't believe he'd show his face here."
"What a traitor!"
"Buzz should arrest him right now!"
"Buzz, it's fine." Warp spoke calmly. "Don't try to back me up."
Buzz frowns and looks down. "I'm suppose to help-"
"As my friend, you don't need to fight my battles. I made my choices, I'm accepting the repercussions. Besides, I'll just bail myself out." He grins but shakes His head from Buzz's frown. "Look bud, I'm happy where I am and it may not be your hopeful dream but I'm trying to be a better person about it."
"Don't you want to be back to fight the good fight?" Buzz asked.
"I do good in my own way Buzz, not everyone follows the same thought." Warp walks with him to his cruiser. "Speaking of that, what made you fight your own friend?"
"Have you heard of the recent new agent?" Buzz asked.
"Oh him? heard he's been doing great for the Galactic Alliance making even Zurg curious about him- Oh." Warp looks at Buzz who looked bothered. "I thought you'd be jolly to have more people trying to do good."
"But he was a criminal!" Buzz stated.
"You know I was in juvie and prison too right?"
"B-but you're different. I know you better than anyone." Buzz retorts. "You aren't evil, you're still good."
"But the agent isn't? That's being a hypocrite. You can't just assume he is a bad guy without proof." He and Buzz had their domes on just as they stepped out of the base. "And besides, not everyone comes in shiny like you."
"What's that supposed to mean? I know not everyone is perfect." Buzz sat in the co-pilot seat.
"Then why are you so against the agent?" Warp sits on his seat. "Did he steal your newspaper?" He asked.
"No…. He…. Got accepted by GAF when I didn't." Buzz looks down but looks to warp who looked annoyed. "That's the reason? Buzz we've been over this." Warp shook his head as he started his cruiser and started flying off.
"Warp! Isn't it annoying and odd he got in without having any backing and with his record?"
"I got accepted without any backing and I gave it up because I didn't want to go if you didn't get in." Warp shrug. "Look, they didn't pick you not because of your skills and achievements. They didn't accept you cuz your high morals stops you from what needs to be done."
"But I can't just kill someone even if they're evil. Knowing this new agent can do that, makes me feel people will think it's the right way." Buzz frowns. "And the fact he was bad makes it worse."
Warp drives but shakes his head. "Either die a hero or live long enough to be a villain."
"What?" Buzz Looked to him.
"People change but not always the way we hope." He parks for Cosmo's and he looks to his friend. "Buzz, people may be good or bad, but they can also become the worst or the best. No matter the side we choose, eventually our way of doing things can be mistaken for right or wrong. Just give the guy a chance." He knew Buzz's mindset wasn't gonna change overnight. He just hopes it was enough to give him a different outlook on his friend.
