So, you are back for more huh? bet I left you in the biggest cliffhanger of your life for a moment there, hehehe. Anyways, where were we?...oh right, the story about the forgotten vault hunter and the mysterious disappearance of the Hyperion facility and that weird world that we only glimpsed briefly...but maybe we should focus back on the one person that was trapped in the facility when it disappeared...what happened to Kenneth you may be asking? Let's get to it shall we?
Unknown location, Unknown time
For Kenneth, it was dark, way to dark...not a single ounce of light shining, he felt his body heavy...and cold...like he was laying on a flat steel mattress...It was also really silent, not a sound, not a creek, not even a beep or a boop from a machine...there was nothing...until there was.
"...ey" sounded a distant digitalized voice "...ey!"
Who was that voice? and why was it calling to him?...is this heaven?...is he dead?...
"Hey, wake up!" yelled that same voice as an electroshock hit Kenneth out of nowhere.
"gaaaagh!" he yelled in pain and surprise as he fully woke up, seeing mostly white shining, feeling a huge amount of pain on his body "uuurgh, what the...what happened?"
"You are finally awake" said the digitalized voice as Kenneth regained his senses, just to feel something metallic hitting him on the head as he yelled in pain "that's good, you can still feel pain, can you still use your eyes and ears though?"
"My...eyes and ears?" Kenneth said confused as he tried to focus his senses, slowly but surely his vision got accustomed to the brightness of the place and saw where he was, he was inside a big, bunkered room that seem to have a few consoles, a couple of lights still working and a weird sort of operations table in the middle "How did I get here?"
"Wow, you really hit your head hard, didn't you?" said that same voice in a snarky way "not surprised, you have seen better days" with that a hatch opened on the ceiling and a pair of mechanical arms came out of it, one of them holding a mirror that was soon put in front of Kenneth, letting him see himself...and oh lord he was looking rough, he had parts of his body burnt badly, one of his legs was bent in a direction that shouldn't be humanly possible, his head was bleeding and he seemed to have something stuck on his left shoulder.
"What the?...how did this ha- wait a minute" he said as he began to remember the last events "the Crimson raiders...the eridium..."
"Well seems like your brain is finally starting to function again, that's good" said the voice as the mechanical arms left the mirror on a wall before picking Kenneth up "but right now we have to do something, otherwise you will die from blood lose."
"We?... but who are you?" Kenneth said among the pain he felt while the mechanical arms moved him around, getting him closer to one of the operations tables "Where are you?"
"That's irrelevant right now, for now just try to not think about death, ok?" said the voice as Kenneth was put on the operations table, right as another hatch opened on the ceiling and a weird series of machines with many mechanical arms and tools came out of it "this should only take a minute or two...if I don't kill you by accident that is, but I think I know how to use this thing."
'I'm going to die' Kenneth thought as the machines began to work on him, without knowing what would happen to him.
Meanwhile, outside
Somewhere else in the facility, there was a huge hangar mostly filled with broken vehicle prototypes, some constructors and badass loaders lying on the floor and a few pieces of the ceiling also stuck on the floor or hanging from the ceiling, being dark, with no lights on at all...that is until the sound of a saw cutting metal began to sound all over the place, the cause of the sound was from one of the apparent walls of the place, the metal cutting kept going for a few minutes, as it made a semicircular figure of about 2 meters radius until the cutting ended, and then the area that was sawed was kicked down, making an entrance that let sunlight in, from which entered a lady with dirty blonde hair dressed in military gear and a skin tight suit, holding a shotgun and a what appeared to be a bullet proof shield on her back, she walked in holding her shotgun ready to shoot at anything in case of being attacked, but seeing no immediate danger she lowered her gun and looked back at the hole.
"No immediate threats detected; coast is clear" she said as she walked a bit further in, she was soon followed by another 5 people entering from the same hole on the wall.
1 of them was a young black-haired man in a military suit while the other 4 were also girls in military gear, but they had different gear and weapons, once all of them were in the young man began to address them.
"Alright!" he said firm getting the attention of the 5 girls in combat gear "time is of the essence so let's not waste any more time, I'm here on a mission, not to babysit, roll call now!"
"iDoll Ocean, reporting!" said a white-haired girl dressed in a lighter gear with a submachine gun strapped on her back and carrying a pair of metal boxes labeled as "bandages" on her sides.
"iDoll Sun, reporting!" said a blond one with her hair on two ponytails that was wearing a leotard under her gear, showing her thighs, down to her boots. She was also wearing a visor and holding an assault rifle.
"Product 12, reporting!" said a brown-haired girl that was heavily armored compared to the others, she was also carrying an ammo backpack connect to a light machine gun she was holding.
"Product 23, reporting!" said a girl dressed in a less armored battle gear compared to Product 12, she has ash blonde hair (I don't really get Product 23's hair color, some help please?) and had a shotgun strapped on her back.
"Soldier FA reporting!" said the girl with the shotgun and the shield that entered first "all units present and ready commander Wulfric!"
"Good, now let's get some shit done" said the now identified Commander Wulfric as he stood in front of them "listen up, our mission is simple, the Ark wants us to gather as much info on this place from what it is to what it contains, if possible, we are to transport any materials we find here back to the Ark, maybe with those the lot of you can get some upgrades to make you lot useful"
Wulfric walked past the girls with a scorn on his face, the girls began to look around as he walked until he stopped in front of the shutdown loaders
"Missilis will pay a good buck for all of this tech, bet I could even get in good graces with Syuen and command her actual good squads, not just some whatever scrap models" he said with a smirk as the girls just looked away from him "start gathering some of these things, the bigger the better, got it?!"
"Yes sir" said all the girls as they began to search around the hangar, while iDoll Sun stayed close by commander Wulfric, as they investigated the place, they came across more of the machines that were turned off, many of the broken vehicles and a few pieces of scrap metal, they were still what to get because everything was pretty big.
"Commander, I don't think we can carry a lot of these machines" said iDoll Sun as she stood next to a turned off Super badass loader, seeing it's sheer size and massive cannons "we may be strong but even our strength has a limit"
"Shut up, will you? I didn't ask for your opinion you heap of junk!" said the commander in an irritated voice "you nikkes are here to follow my orders and that's final, no buts whatsoever! Product 12, see if any of these vehicles is in working order, might as well use it to carry what we can more easily."
"R-roger sir" said Product 12 as she began to check on the vehicles, she wasn't exactly built for repairing vehicles, but she had to try her best at the very least. Around the same time soldier FA found a door that was unlocked, opening it she saw a control room barely illuminated by emergency lights, with a few switches on the walls, a couple lockers and a console with a lot of buttons and some levers
"Commander, I think I found something" she said as she looked at the console "maybe this controls the lights and power here"
"Well, what are you waiting for!? turn them on! do I really have to spell it out for you every time!?" Commander Wulfric yelled irritated, Soldier FA cringed at his words, but she got a negative response.
"Power levels of hangar 3 below the levels required, please reconnect the generator to the power grid" said a recorded message in a female robotic voice, which was heard by all of them.
"Great, more problems" said Wulfric with an annoyed sigh as he massaged his forehead, this was becoming more complicated than what he expected "iDoll Sun, you and Soldier FA go deeper into the facility and try to find the generator!"
"Sir, I don't think that's a wise idea" Idoll sun said as Soldier FA looked from where she was "the mission was-"
"Listen you stupid piece of metal, they don't build you to think, they build you to obey!" yelled Wulfric angrily as the others flinched "now go turn on that fucking generator or I will personally leave you here!"
Idoll Sun and Soldier FA sighed as they began to look for a way into the deeper parts of the facility, soon seeing that the control room had a ventilation shaft they could use, it was big enough for them to fit in, so they tore it open and began to crawl through it.
"Bunch of idiots, I will probably have them go through a memory wipe, maybe that will get them in line" said Wulfric as the others kept doing their assigned jobs, although they were avoiding looking at the commander...however, after a bit they all tensed up.
"Commander, multiple signals moving towards here, they are probably raptures!" said Product 23 as she, Product 08 and iDoll Ocean all stopped what they were doing, this caused Wulfric to go from angry to shocked/scared, he looked around and saw the control room again.
"Move some of the machines and set up a defensive position! Keep the control room at your backs!" Wulfric barked, The three girls nodded and quickly moved a constructor and a pair of badass loaders to use as a makeshift defense while they point their weapons towards the hangar's door...soon enough there were metallic noises coming from outside the hangar, Wulfric was now hiding in the control room, Product 12 held her light machine gun tightly as iDoll Ocean trembled a bit holding her submachinegun, Product 23 was checking the ammo of her shotgun when...
Boom! Boom! Boom!
"Encounter!" yelled Product 12 in response to multiple explosions coming from the hangar doors, causing more openings.
Back in the R&D levels of the facility
"And that should be it" said the mysterious robotic voice as the machines finished to work on Kenneth, who was right now covered in a white blanket "Now we just have to run you through the Hyperion scanner...and go!"
As soon as the voice said that a light began to scan Kenneth's body from top to bottom, as it scanned him his body it began to shine until a flash happened and the blanket dropped flat on the table Kenneth used to be at...he disappeared.
"Ok, and now we digistruct him back to life!" said the voice in a cheerful tone as the scanner pointed at the floor from the ceiling and it began to materialize something, or in better terms, it was being digitally reconstructed. After a minute or so the process was almost done as Kenneth's body was almost being reconstructed and after a bit more Kenneth was finally digistructed back to life.
"Ok what the actual fu-!" he was yelling until he saw himself in the mirror that was still resting against one of the walls, he was brought back with pretty much no changes, his clothes were the same, his hair color was the same dirty blonde, he even still had the buzz axe he took from that dead bandit before everything went south, only thing he was missing was his Echo device but he was glad he was alive right now. "What the...I'm alive?"
"You are welcome, took a while to connect all of these systems into the digistruct system of the New-U machines but hey, I did it" said the voice seemingly proud of itself "There's only a small detail left to complete the process."
"Really? and what would that be?" said Kenneth looking around trying to find the source of the voice, until suddenly one of the mechanical arms from the ceiling grabbed a sort of memory card from one of the consoles and sticked it right onto the back of Kenneth's head, making him get a small electric shock "Hey, what the fuck was that?!"
Kenneth then began to see a lot flashing before his eyes, he was seeing lines of code, images of places in Pandora he never visited and some that he did, the interface of an Echo device being loading alongside a download bar of some sort and there was also the figure of something...or rather someone forming in front of him. That someone was mostly just a jumble of code in Kenneth's eyes and seemed to be manipulating one of the consoles as its form became clearer and clearer as the info seemed to slow down and the download bar got almost full.
"Ok, just a bit more...almost there" the voice was seeing still using the console as the download bar was getting almost full, except it was sounding less like a mechanical voice and more like it was inside Kenneth's head "Just a bit more there...Almost...Done, Download completed!"
As soon as the download finished, Kenneth was now seeing the usual interface of an echo device and the humanoid form that was on the console was starting to take a more concrete shape as it turned to look at Kenneth.
"Man, oh man, that was a hard process let me tell you, but you are at least alive and well" said the humanoid form as it became clearer and took a defined form, it was definitely male and clearly holographic but it showed defined colors which was definitely odd, wearing jeans and casual brown shoes, a leather belt that extended into a holster on his right leg, a yellow t-shirt and a grey jacket on the torso as he also had a weird belt with a mechanical device on his chest, his brown hair and...blue and green eyes? oh lord, it's..."Now we can talk getting out of here"
"Handsome Jack?" Kenneth said in disbelief, how was this guy still alive?! The Crimson raiders announced his death everywhere after the Guardian was destroyed "How the hell are you alive?!"
"That is a great question kid, and I would be happy to answer...if you answer something for me first" said Handsome Jack's hologram as it walked towards Kenneth before stopping a meter away from him and gave him a confused look "Who is Handsome Jack?"
Handsome Jack? (We know it's Jack at least)
"Don't play dumb with me, you know exactly who you are!" Said Kenneth as he grabbed his Buzz Axe and got it ready to strike, not sure what that would do to a hologram but ok "Is this another one of your twisted plans?! Are you playing games with me?!"
"Wow man, lower the Buzz axe, I really do not who I am, I know I'm probably called Jack but that's about it" said Jack's hologram taking a couple steps back as it seemed scared "Project Cyber-U was never meant for living organisms"
"Living orga- what are you even talking about?!" Kenneth was just getting more confused as the hologram of Jack kept talking.
"Cyber-U was conceived as a last resort by the president of Hyperion, meant to revive people from the dead by replacing their bodies with machine parts and getting their personalities and memories implanted in their brains from a data bank" Explained Jack recovering a bit from the scare of earlier, Kenneth wasn't that good at reading people but Handsome Jack would never act like this "The process was meant for people who have been dead for at least a day, you were on the verge of it, so your brain and body were still functioning so you are about 80% human and 20% machine, couple that with the data bank getting corrupted due to an energy overload frying most of it and your brain occupying most of the "memory space", the system was only able to upload the 10% most important part of the data bank onto your brain"
(Sidenote, Jack will use the "Internal voices" dialogue style since he is a voice inside of Kenneth's head and only Kenneth can see him...for now at least, and while I can guarantee that only Kenneth will SEE Jack, it won't be the same to hearing him)
"Ok...I suppose that explains the Echo interface I have on my vision right now I guess and why I'm seeing you" Kenneth was trying to calm down as he massaged his temple with his left hand "and it also means you are indeed an AI based on Handsome Jack's personality and memories...except you are missing most of those of course"
"Pretty much yeah, but the good news is, I am not only a simple AI" Said Jack as he touched the console the mechanical arms began to move, however they were doing silly figures "I can connect to any and all Hyperion machines and systems and operate them at my will"
"Really? Well, I have to admit that is pretty awesome not going to lie, and having you in my brain means you can probably help me" Kenneth said this a bit more happy as he smirked, this was still confusing but at the very least he didn't seem to be a puppet for a Jack robot clone, which was better "Do you mind if I call you just Jack? I feel calling you Handsome every time is awkward"
"Nah there's no problem at all; I don't think the title fits either of us, I mean you are good looking but...never mind, we should probably get out of here" Said Jack as he tried to open the door by touching the panel to open it, but it received a negative response "Safety lock? why would the safety lock activate here?"
"Well, before I entered the eridium energy core was having an energy overload and I entered this place to avoid it" Kenneth said as Jack groaned "is there a way to force it open?"
"There is, but first we should see if it's even safe to go outside, if the power reactor almost had a meltdown but we are still alive, then we have something to check we are not going to die just by opening the door" Jack said as he walked to the console again, except he stood next to it as he looked at Kenneth "Might as well teach you how to use the new capabilities of your semi-mechanical body, try to use the console"
"Ok, if you say so" Kenneth walked up to the console and tried to use it, but as soon as he touched it, he saw a couple of code lines and pop up into his vision, surprising him and making him take a step back, making the code go away "What was that?"
"That is just a fraction of your new tech wizardry kid" said Jack with a smirk on his face, seeing Kenneth still surprised seemed funny to him "I can connect to any Hyperion system but sometimes I need some help, and that's when you come in, you can hack the system and connect to any device from any access point...and no, I don't know why I can't do that, apparently is a limit so I don't go rogue or something like that...which sounds about right given I'm a Hyperion creation"
"Still better than Jakobs and its treatment of the workers on the Cove" Kenneth said rolling his eyes as he touched the console again with just one hand, starting to see the lines of code again and after seeing them for a minute he tried to move them around, first trying with his free hand but that didn't do a single thing, so he tried to move them with his mind, trying to move one line of code towards another one and it actually worked, the two codes mixed together for a bit before Kenneth separated them "holy man that worked, now what am I supposed to do?"
"Now we have to connect this console to the system of security cameras, it should be one of those codes" Jack said as he scratched his head...does that count as scratching? He is still technically a hologram in Kenneth's head after all. Kenneth didn't mind it much and began to test the codes to find the security cameras, there weren't many to begin with, maybe the console didn't have that much reach for connections, but it actually helped as Kenneth soon found the right codes, he mixed them with the codes of the console and soon enough, both him and Jack had full vision of the cameras "Well would you look at that, for your first time doing some hacking it wasn't that hard for you to figure it out. Now let's take a look outside"
The two began to see through the security cameras, at least the ones still up, and while many didn't show a damn thing useful, one of them showed the R&D area with the bigger machines lying around, many of them showing explosion marks and a burnt area that seemed to move from the access to the Eridium reactor, but that area had been covered by a combination of a huge metal wall and a force field of some sort, whatever it was, the thing they cared about was answered: the wall and force field had contained the energy from the eridium reactor and it seemed safe to go outside the room.
"Seems like the coast is clear, we might as well skidaddle out of here" Jack said before walking to the control panel of the door and accessing it again, this time he did some coding and managed to open the door "ladies first?"
Kenneth simply rolled his eyes and walked out of the room, Jack walking a bit ahead of him as they saw the state of the place, the prototypes had seen better days, there were various Hyperion gun crates lying around and some prototypes had actually been broken so badly they were unrecognizable from what they were supposed to be before, but for the most part the place was still working, the lights that weren't broken were working at least.
"Well, the place has certainly seen better days, but it's more robust than what I expected" Kenneth said looking up at the ceiling and the walls before turning towards Jack "now what?"
"Now the priority is getting the hell out of here" said Jack as he pointed at the elevator "The reactor is still powering the place, but the power only reaches so far up, we will have to manually reactivate the connection to the higher floors, the elevator should be working at the very least"
"Sounds simple...way to simple even" Kenneth said as he began to walk to the elevator, however suddenly the hologram of Jack disappeared from his vision "Jack?"
"Don't worry kid, I am still in your head" Kenneth heard the voice of Jack in his head, which still felt weird, but it was less weird now "I feel like you can move from here alone, I will appear if you need me"
"Sounds good to me" said Kenneth with a smile as he resumed his walk towards the elevator, after some steps he reached it and pressed the button to call it down, he then just stood there waiting...

...and waiting...

...
...
...and waiting...

...
"Oh, for Pete's sake what it's taking the elevator so long to ger here?!" Jack said getting impatient, Kenneth could probably tell that Jack was walking from one side to another inside a non-existent room "This thing is supposed to be instant travel!"
"Have some patience, will you? if you are that impatient, we might as well climb up ourselves" said Kenneth as he went to the button panel of the elevator, hacking it as he mixed some codes to connect the door to open when pressing the button.
"Well, that is smart, but seriously how hard did the place blow up to even break the elevator?" Jack was pretty confused, Kenneth simply shrugged and pressed the button of the elevator again to open the doors, the doors opened and the space inside was circular and empty, illuminated by vertical blue lights...but there was no signal from the elevator right now, at least nothing right now "The elevator must be stuck on one of the higher floors"
"Then what do you suggest we do?" Kenneth was looking upwards to the elevator tunnel, trying to find a way to get the elevator to get down "is there a way to just make it come down via gravity or something?"
"Well, the blue lights are a magnetic system that moves the elevator, so maybe if we turn it off?" Jack proposed not so sure about it, it was clear that this was risky since the elevator would most likely plummet down to them...but at this point the options were limited.
"Well, it's our best shot at getting out of here, so we better do it" Kenneth said as Jack's hologram materialized again, touching the button panel to hack it and in a matter of seconds, the lights inside of the elevator tunnel were turned off, meaning the magnetic system was turned off. "And now we step back"
Kenneth quickly got away from the elevator entrance as Jack once again disappeared back into Kenneth's mind, and good thing too since pretty soon the sound of something falling down began to be heard, alongside some feminine screams...hold on...
"Are those screams?" Kenneth said before
Crash!
The elevator crashed on the floor, causing a loud noise and a bit of a dust cloud, but out of the crash also came out two bodies that landed a few meters away from Kenneth, making him jump back in shock.
"What in the actual hell?!" Kenneth said stepping back from the bodies, before he looked at them a bit more clearly, they were both female and seemed to be wearing some sort of military armor and visors, one was shinier in terms of colors and the other one had a kind of broken riot shield on her back, what the two had in common were their outfits were kind of revealing, they seemed to have a series of wounds that seemed made by bullets, and also the fact they had guns, these were iDoll Sun and Soldier FA, but to Kenneth and Jack these two were complete strangers "Jack, who are they?!"
"How am I supposed to know?! I have never seen them in my life" he said just as much in shock as Kenneth, however as Kenneth looked at them, his vision seemed to do a scan on them which revealed something "Hang on...they are machines?!"
"Ok, I can't tell if this is an official Hyperion prototype or the " Kenneth said annoyed as the two girls began to shift, moving as they tried to get up, which made Kenneth sigh in annoyance "ok, they are still alive, we might as well get some answers out of them"
"w-what happened?" said iDoll Sun as she regained her senses and slowly stood up, holding her assault rifle with one hand, meanwhile Soldier FA was sitting on the floor, with her shotgun on her side.
"I feel like we fell off a truck" she said. By then Kenneth decided to make his presence known as he pulled out his buzz axe and coughed, making the girls look at him.
"Now ladies, I believe some explanations are in order" Kenneth said as he held the buzz axe with both arms, Soldier FA tried to get up but her left leg failed as she fell again, stopping the fall with her hands, iDoll Sun groaned as she held the assault rifle tightly in combat position "look, all I want out of the two of you are some answers, I don't want to fight, this day has been already taxing mentally waking up down here and all, the whole process before that and now this...could this day get any weirder?"
As soon as he said that some rumble could be heard from the elevator, suddenly a huge machine jumped out of the wreckage as and landed a few meters away from them. The machine in question was pretty big, probably around the size of a super badass loader, but it looked nothing like a Hyperion machine, it seemed to have its circuits totally visible, the color palette was very different, the legs were 4 spider-like legs instead of the usual humanoid form of the Hyperion loaders, it seemed to have 2 big laser cannons and a pair of missile launchers on the sides of its main body, and it also had a glowing spot on its main body.
(I tried to describe the "Loud mouth" lord-class rapture the best I could since I can't add images here)
"Ok THAT thing is definitely not Hyperion" said Jack inside of Kenneth's head, as whatever that robot was looked at the two girls as they refocused their attention on it.
"Encounter!" said Soldier FA as she grabbed her shotgun and quickly fired it at the robot, making it stagger back from the shot asiDoll Sun began to fire her assault rifle at the robot, making it stagger more. This gave Kenneth an opportunity to run as he hid behind a broken prototype right next to a weapon crate.
"Ok Jack, those is definitely not Hyperion machinery, that's for damn sure!" Kenneth yelled as the robot fired missiles at the girls, who dodged them to the best of their abilities, ending with minimal damage "any ideas on what do now?!"
"I'm thinking, I'm thinking!" Jack yelled inside of Kenenth's mind as he reappeared next to him and tried to think of a way to get out of this one, all the while the girls were still fighting the robot. Jack had only one clear idea. "Okay, all we can really do is fight our way out of this one, and I may recommend fighting on the side of the robotic girls"
"You really think that's a good idea? I feel they might shoot me" said Kenneth as the robot recovered from the shooting and began to charge its huge laser cannons, aiming them at one of the girls until he fired it, causing a huge explosion that sent iDoll Sun back with the blast "besides, I don't think I can take on that thing with my buzz axe alone"
"My dude, you are in a room full of weapon crates" Jack said as he pointed at the weapon crate, making Kenneth look as he smirked, he quickly crawled towards it and opened it, revealing a single long weapon that resembled a sniper rifle, except it wasn't painted yet, it was mostly grey due to the metal, and it didn't had ammo for it, it only had one weird energy cannister alongside it "Ok, that should do it I hope"
"I swear if this thing kills us instead of that robot, I am strangling the real you in the afterlife" Kenneth said as he grabbed the experimental sniper rifle and loaded the energy cannister in the rifle, all the while the fight sounds continued, he noticed the rifle had a crank "can you tell me anything on this weapon?"
"From what I can get on the database, it's meant as a single shot sniper rifle, that cannister can punch holes through any shields and vaporize the biggest of Bullymongs" Jack said as the robot fired more missiles that flew over Kenneth's position and exploded on a wall "It works using a cranking mechanism, a cranked enough shot should be enough to destroy that thing...with an error margin of 10%"
"Well, that's comforting" Kenneth said sarcastically as he cranked up the sniper rifle a few times before a girl's scream pulled him out of the conversation, when he peeked over to see what was happening, iDoll Sun was missing an arm and had a few damages on her as she tried to aim her assault rifle at the robot, while Soldier FA was on her back, missing an arm, a leg and with the robot piercing her stomach with one of its legs while aiming its laser cannons at her.
"Hold on FA...I can...take the shot" said Idoll Sun as she tried to bear her suffering and aim at the robot, her expression clearly showing pain.
"There's no use FA...we are done for" Soldier FA just sighed as she got ready to accept her death, the robot was almost done charging its lasers and was getting ready to fire them as iDoll Sun tried to think of a plan.
"Hey Tin can, think fast!" yelled Kenneth as he aimed the sniper rifle at the robot and pressed the trigger, this made the sniper rifle to fire a green laser shoot that flew directly towards the robot, hitting it before it could react and...
Boom!
Screeeeech!
The laser impacted right on the right side of the robot and causing a small explosion that caused the robot to lose its right laser cannon as it landed with a thud on the floor, the robot staggered back heavily, taking its leg out of Soldier FA as she lied on the floor. iDoll Sun was kind of shocked and turned her head back enough to look at Kenneth.
"What are you waiting for?! Kill that damn thing!" Kenneth said as he noticed iDoll Sun looking at him instead of the robot. iDoll Sun quickly regained her composure and aimed her assault rifle at the robot again, managing to aim and fire at the glowing spot of the robot, hitting it directly as the glowing spot broke and then
Ka-Boom!
The robot exploded, leaving its carcass on the floor and multiple pieces scattered around. iDoll Sun sighed as she lowered her weapon while Kenneth dropped the prototype sniper rifle and walked up to her.
"Well, that's done" Kenneth said looking at iDoll Sun, she looked at him, seemingly scanning him as she held a serious pained look on her face, Kenneth sighed and offered her a hand to get "need a hand?"
iDoll Sun kept on scanning him, seemingly not sure on what to think of him or if she should accept his help or not, that was until her expression softened, going from serious to surprised as she finally accepted his hand, with Kenneth pulling her up.
"You are a human" she said surprised as Kenneth had one of her arms around him to help her stand "how are you...even alive out here?"
"Long story, lots of explosions and a bit of help" he said with a smirk, helping her up as he saw Jack smirking to him sitting on one of the weapon crates "let's get your friend now, I think she may need some help"
They then walked up to Soldier FA, who was in really bad shape, as a matter-of-fact Kenenth could see her circuits out of the hole that the robot made on her stomach, it wasn't pretty at all.
"FA!" said iDoll Sun once they got close enough to her, with Kenneth helping her down as she grabbed the remaining hand of FA "just stay with me ok? We have to get back up and reunite with the rest of the squad"
"They are probably dead anyway" said Soldier FA with a sad tone, just lying there as she held the hand of iDoll Sun "the raptures have probably overrun the upper levels already, it's only a matter of time until they come down here and finish us off...Besides, the commander never liked us anyways, so this might as well be the best outcome for us"
"No, we have to get back! we have to!" iDoll Sun was starting to have a mental breakdown, she clearly wanted to save her friend but the way she seemed so non chalant about dying...it was pretty messed up.
"I'm sorry Sun...we are done for" said FA as she just fell limp on the floor, closing her eyes as iDoll Sun just cried on her body
"Ok, this is sad...there has to be a way of getting them repaired and fast" Kenenth said with a serious face as he looked around, that was until Jack groaned and walked up to a deactivated PWR loader that was lying behind the girls, he then forced its activation, and as it stood up, it readied up its arms as it walked to the girls, by the time iDoll Sun saw the loader, it was too late as the PWR loader gave her a hit right on the head, knocking her out with one hit as she fell right next to Soldier FA "what the fuck Jack?!"
"Listen kid, from what I could gather I doubt we are even in Pandora anymore; I mean there was none of this crap before and those two are our only way to know where we are and even then, the scans show they have actual organic brains!" Jack said as he stood next to the PWR loader he activated as it grabbed the bodies of iDoll Sun and Soldier FA "since they are mostly machine, we might as well put them through a quick repair, maybe that way we will get some answers"
"So, you want to repair these two robot girls... yeah, sounds about right" Kenneth said as he looked at them, he still had reservations about this plan, but the girls were their only way to get some answers "you sure this is going to work though?"
"About 90% sure, we might have to do some tweaking here and there...we want them to obey US, so we might have to do some brain surgery" Jack said as Kenneth looked at Soldier FA and iDoll Sun, sighing as he signalled the PWR loader to move them to the Cyber-U room, which it did "I feel this is punishment for something we did in a past life"
"Well, there ain't no rest for the wicked after all, but I am sure of one thing" Kenneth said with a sigh before he and Jack followed the PWR loader to the Cyber-U room, ready to work as Kenneth looked determined "I'm not closing my eyes for good any time soon, "
Well, how was that for a continuation eh? Pretty good right? Our boy Kenneth is still alive, and he has a new companion, which just so happens to be a memory-less version of the biggest asshole in all of Pandora, quite the plot twist right? Well, we are still not done, those two robotic girls are their answers and also, whatever happened to the rest of their group? and we still don't know where Kenneth and Jack are right now!...Well, you might have to wait a bit more for that. Because right now I can hear my clients coming in.
(this chapter is probably a bit sloppier towards the end, truth is I wanted it to be longer, but I also didn't want it to come out next year, next chapter should be more focused)
