Scene 6. After chapter 238 of the manga
Team 7 was officially a thing of the past.
Sasuke was with Orochimaru. Sakura had become Tsunade's disciple, determined to be a medic-nin. And Naruto was preparing to leave with Jiraiya on a tough training trip.
As he helped Naruto pack his backpack, Iruka couldn't stop thinking about Kakashi. He was very worried about him. Losing Sasuke had already been a hard blow for the jounin, and now Sakura and Naruto were leaving him too. Iruka was dying to go see him to see if he was okay, but he was too embarrassed by how he had behaved the last time they had been alone, a week ago.
Even if Kakashi had been wrong to accuse him of wanting to fuck just out of spite, Iruka knew that he hadn't behaved well. Instead of calmly explaining to the jounin that that wasn't the case, but that Iruka really needed him, he had let a sudden fit of rage take over and fled. That is, after letting out a rude outburst... again.
«I'm an idiot. »
If Kakashi didn't want to hear from him again, he would understand. Although he didn't know how he was going to bear it, now that he was starting to reciprocate his feelings.
As soon as they finished packing their backpacks, Iruka and Naruto went to eat ramen at Ichiraku as a farewell.
They hadn't even finished when Jiraiya peeked through the curtain of the establishment.
"Let's go, Naruto!"
"Yes!" The boy jumped off the stool, excited. "I'm leaving, Iruka-sensei! The ramen is a gift for my success!"
"Really..." Iruka sighed, amused.
The chuunin watched them walk down the street.
"Do your best, Naruto."
When they were out of sight, Iruka felt his eyes water. Naruto was like a little brother to him and he was going to miss him terribly. He rubbed his face with one hand and decided to take a walk home.
He was almost there when he ran into Kotetsu and Izumo.
"Oi, Iruka!" the two chuunins greeted. "We were just coming for you."
"Me?" Iruka stopped in front of his two friends.
"We heard that Naruto has already left and we thought you needed to cheer up."
"Cheer me up? No thanks, guys. I'm fine."
"Come on, it's been a long time since the three of us hung out together," Kotetsu said, "at least since before Sandaime died…" Izumo interrupted him with an elbow. "Ouch!"
Iruka looked at them with a sad smile.
"It's okay, Izumo, it's not a taboo subject."
"I know, but now is not the time to bring it up, you already have enough with Naruto."
"I'm fine. I'll miss him, of course, but I know he's in good hands and he'll come back much stronger."
"Then let's go celebrate that", Kotetsu said, already recovered from the elbow.
"That's it, Iruka. Besides, the academy is still closed so you don't have the excuse of 'I have to get up early' or 'I can't drink or I'll have to teach class with a hangover'."
"What the hell", Iruka sighed. You're right. "Let's go have those drinks."
"Great! See you tonight at Kaito's?"
Kaito's was a shinobi bar on the west side of town. Iruka had only been there a couple of times, always with Kotetsu and Izumo.
"Okay."
"Fine. See you later, Iruka."
"See you later, guys."
Kotetsu and Izumo turned around and Iruka went up to his apartment. He would take a shower, have a quick dinner and then meet up with his friends.
Kaito's was packed. Now that Tsunade was Hokage and the village had regained its position, the number of missions per week had returned to normal, which meant that there were more ninja with free time. And apparently, Kaito's was the trendy place to spend that time.
Iruka, Kotetsu, and Izumo sat down at one of the few free tables at the back of the place. They ordered beer and started chatting about trivial matters, like Kotetsu's new girlfriend, a civilian he had met days ago.
When Kotetsu and Izumo started arguing about what kind of woman was more attractive, whether it was the one with small, firm breasts -as was apparently the case with the civilian- or large and voluptuous ones -like the Hokage, Izumo used as an example- Iruka tuned out and devoted himself to observing the people in the bar. He noticed that there were both chuunins and jounins, and no genins -logical, since most genins were underage. They were easily distinguishable from each other, since the chuunins were dressed in street clothes, like Iruka himself, and the jounins in uniform, since they were permanently on guard, and even when they went to bars, they had to be ready to leave at any moment. Missions for chuunins were usually less urgent, and that's why they were allowed to dress in street clothes in their free time. He also noticed, without surprise, the separation between both ranks. There was no group in the place that was mixed: they were all groups of jounins or groups of chuunins. Although they often worked together on mid-range missions, when it came to personal relationships, jounins and chuunins did so separately. Why? There was no official reason. However, Iruka, as a chuunin, knew his people's version, and it was simply that the jounins were emotionally crazy and that it was best not to hang out with them too much.
There were exceptions, of course, especially in the case of heterosexual couples. Most of these couples were made up of a male jounin and a female chuunin. Iruka didn't know of any cases of the opposite. Probably because men had too much pride to date a woman who was physically stronger than them and let the whole village know about it. Even though he knew it was an absurd prejudice, Iruka understood it: Kakashi was a man, but so was he, and that's why he also felt a little uncomfortable with the difference in rank and therefore power.
And as for homosexual couples, Iruka didn't know of any cases either, only the occasional rumor.
At that moment, a well-known group of jounins entered Kaito's: Kurenai, Asuma, Gai and... Kakashi. Konoha's elite.
Iruka unconsciously squeezed his glass while still watching Kakashi, who hadn't seen him yet. The four jounins had sat at the bar. Iruka wondered what he should do. He wanted to talk to Kakashi, apologize, and although he knew it was neither the time nor the place, he suddenly needed to do it as soon as possible.
Kotetsu and Izumo continued talking about girls, and Iruka devoted himself to observing Kakashi with the dissimulation that his discreet location in the bar allowed him. Suddenly Kakashi stood up; Iruka feared for a moment that he was going to leave, and he couldn't follow him without explaining himself to his friends. But the jounin headed to the restrooms, and Iruka saw the opportunity.
"Guys, I'm going to the restrooms, I'll be right back."
He stood up and headed to the restrooms, entering a few seconds after Kakashi. The jounin was washing his hands, for which he had temporarily removed his gloves. Their eyes met through the mirror. Iruka held his breath. Kakashi's gaze was anything but friendly.
Making a good face, and after making sure they were alone, Iruka spoke.
"I'm sorry…"
He didn't mean to be so blunt, but he couldn't hold it in any longer. To his relief, Kakashi's gaze softened a little. The jounin dried his hands and turned around while putting on his gloves.
"What exactly are you apologizing for, Iruka?"
The chuunin swallowed. He took a hesitant step towards Kakashi.
"Because of what happened at your house the other night… I got pissed off at what you implied, but I shouldn't have stormed off like that. I should have let you know that I really wanted it. But I acted like a jerk. I'm sorry."
Kakashi sighed.
"It's not fair."
Iruka frowned, bewildered.
"What?"
"You coming to me and telling me this dressed like that."
"Dressed… like what?"
Iruka looked in the mirror. He hadn't even paid much attention when changing, just picking out the first thing he found. He was wearing jeans, a black t-shirt, and an open green sweatshirt. All very simple clothes. But judging by Kakashi's hungry gaze, he didn't think the same.
Kakashi reached out and, placing a single finger inside the waistband of Iruka's jeans, pulled him closer. Iruka immediately tensed up, if someone came in and surprised them like that…
"Not here, please", he whispered.
"Then let's go somewhere else," Kakashi said.
"Where?"
"Your apartment or mine, it doesn't matter to me."
Kakashi's tone was urgent, as was his hand still gripping the waistband of his jeans. Iruka blushed in understanding.
"I'm with… with some friends. I can't just leave like that."
Kakashi sighed and let go.
"Okay," he murmured, visibly disappointed.
"An hour," Iruka said on impulse. Kakashi raised an eyebrow questioningly. "Give me an hour to be with them, say goodbye without them suspecting, and I'll meet you at my apartment."
"An hour," Kakashi repeated, pleased. Then he added in a dangerous tone, "If you're late, I'll come get you."
"I won't be late," Iruka promised, blushing. Kakashi's threat had excited him.
Before he could get a chance to do something crazy with Kakashi in the restrooms, Iruka left. Back in the crowded bar room, his eyes met Gai's. Iruka ignored the jounin's scowl -he didn't want to get into a bad mood- and returned to his friends.
Kakashi emerged from the restrooms a minute later and sat at the bar between Gai and Asuma. While Kakashi and Gai were speaking to each other seemingly normally again, neither of them had forgotten what had been their first serious argument in twenty years. There was a tension between them that Kakashi, who was not a grudge-bearing person, wanted to put behind him as soon as possible. So, when Asuma and Kurenai stood up to greet another couple who had just entered Kaito's, he was about to bring up the subject, but Gai, who must have been thinking the same thing, beat him to it.
"Why are you and Iruka hiding in the restrooms?" he asked in a relaxed manner.
"Ah... I don't know." Kakashi sighed. "Iruka's stuff. He's very... jealous of his privacy. And he doesn't want to raise suspicions about us."
Gai fiddled with his now empty sake cup.
"I'm sorry about what I said about him," he said in one breath, as if he'd been mulling it over all night. "You were right: there was no reason to do so. I was talking nonsense."
Two apologies in less than ten minutes. Kakashi wondered if the world had turned upside down: he was usually the one who had to apologize to other people, especially because of his lack of empathy and his habit of being late everywhere.
"Don't worry. It's forgotten."
"Thank you."
Gai was about to say something else, but at that moment Kurenai and Asuma returned. The four of them began to chat about the upcoming jounin exams that would be held in a few months. Less than half an hour later, Kakashi announced that he was leaving.
Five minutes later, a certain chuunin also left Kaito's.
Iruka arrived at his apartment ten minutes before the agreed time, but he knew that Kakashi would already be there. Sure enough, as soon as he entered the bedroom, he noticed the jounin's chakra behind him. Iruka turned around and there was Kakashi, maskless, and with the same hungry look he had given him at the bar.
"I thought I had left the window closed," Iruka commented, amused.
"And it was," Kakashi said simply, just before taking a step towards him and attacking his lips.
"Mmm," Iruka moaned, not defending himself in the slightest.
Kakashi put his arms around him, holding him close.
"I love the clothes you're wearing," the jounin whispered against his mouth. "But now all I can think about is ripping them off."
"Do it then," Iruka panted. He could feel Kakashi's erection pressing against his pelvis, which caused him to become aroused in record time as well. Without giving him time to change his mind, Kakashi unzipped Iruka's green hoodie and let it slide off his shoulders until it fell to the floor. As always, he removed Iruka's hair tie and then made him lift his arms so he could take off his shirt.
"Do you want to undress me?" Kakashi asked before continuing.
"Yeah..."
Iruka placed both hands on Kakashi's vest and began to unbutton it; it was not an easy task as his hands were shaking. He had no doubts anymore, but it had been a long time since he had gone all the way, and he couldn't help but be nervous. He prayed that the jounin wouldn't notice, but that was asking too much. As soon as he had removed the vest and shirt, and they were both naked from the waist up, Kakashi held his shaking hands against his chest.
"You don't have to do anything you don't want to, you know that, right, Iruka?"
Iruka nodded. Of course he did. However, his hands didn't stop shaking. Before Kakashi started to think that he was acting like a virgin, he decided to be honest.
"I haven't... I haven't done this in a long time. And the reason is because I'm only willing to do it if I really care about the other person. And I care about you, Kakashi... I care about you so much that I'm starting to get scared."
Kakashi lifted his hands and kissed them in a tender but hopeful gesture.
"You don't have to be scared."
"It's easy to say, but..." Iruka swallowed. "Last time..." He couldn't continue. He didn't want to mention Mizuki at a time like this.
"Listen, Iruka. I wish I could promise you that I'll never break your heart, but... I'm a jounin," Kakashi said. "And the life expectancy of jounins... well, you know. But I can promise you one thing: I will never lie to you, or cheat on you."
Iruka smiled slightly. Suddenly his hands were no longer shaking.
"Good," he murmured.
"Good," Kakashi said, and kissed him again.
This time it was Iruka who pressed himself against him. They were skin against skin and their arousal only grew.
Suddenly eager, Iruka took a couple of steps back, taking Kakashi with him, and dropped onto the bed. The jounin took the hint and gently pushed him until he was completely lying down, placing himself on top. Iruka moaned as their crotches were in full contact, almost the same position as the time at Kakashi's kitchen table. But this time he didn't resist when the jounin began to unbutton his jeans. When they were unbuttoned, Kakashi broke the kiss, only to lower his head and begin to lasciviously lick his chest, at the same time that his hand slipped inside the younger man's underwear.
When the jounin's expert hand began to masturbate him, Iruka felt overwhelmed. He wanted it so badly… He grabbed Kakashi's hair gently to force him to lift his face.
"Kakashi… I won't last long…"
"Don't worry, we have all night", Kakashi smiled.
Iruka shook his head, his cheeks burning.
"I want to do it", he murmured. "I want to do it now."
Kakashi paused.
"Are you sure?", he asked in a hoarse whisper.
"Yes."
Kakashi sat up a little.
"Do you have…?"
Dying of embarrassment, Iruka hurried to answer.
"Yes."
Iruka rolled to the side and pulled a small bottle of lubricant from the drawer of his bedside table. He had told Kakashi only a few minutes earlier that it had been a long time since he had gotten to that point with anyone, so it was clear that Iruka used it on a one-man basis. He tossed the bottle to him, and as he had feared, the jounin's comment was not long in coming.
"So, is this what you do on your days off?" he teased.
"Oh, shut up," Iruka growled, his face bright red.
Still smiling, Kakashi momentarily set the bottle aside, pulled off his pants, then did the same with Iruka's, leaving them both completely naked. After admiring the view without hesitation, he picked up the bottle again, opened it, and placed a generous amount on his left palm.
Iruka took a deep breath as Kakashi began to prepare him. No matter how eager and impatient he was, this procedure was necessary if he didn't want to have a bad time.
Kakashi's fingers were noticeably expert; but Iruka preferred not to ask. When he felt ready, he stopped Kakashi by grabbing his wrist. The jounin understood the gesture instantly.
Without wasting time, Kakashi placed himself on top of him. Iruka took a deep breath again, indicating that he should go ahead. Kakashi began to penetrate him. Iruka closed his eyes tightly.
"If it hurts, tell me," Kakashi panted, stopping halfway.
Without opening his eyes, Iruka nodded. He placed his hands on Kakashi's back and gently squeezed him to continue.
Kakashi continued and lowered his body a little further, resting an elbow on either side of Iruka's head. When he was completely inside him, he paused for a moment.
"Everything okay...?"
Iruka opened his eyes.
"Everything... okay..." Then Kakashi began to thrust gently, again and again, causing Iruka's body to arch in pleasure. Kakashi then slipped an arm under Iruka's waist and brought their bodies together as close as possible. Iruka moaned in absolute pleasure. He raised his right hand and placed it on the jounin's sweaty neck, at the same time lifting his chin slightly so he could kiss him.
Kakashi kissed him back eagerly. After a few minutes he moaned and stopped.
"Don't stop, Kakashi," Iruka panted, his breath coming in ragged gasps. He was already sweating too; he could feel the drops running down his neck and collarbone. "Don't stop…"
"I'm just… afraid I won't last much longer…" the jounin confessed.
"Don't… worry… We have… all night." With a mischievous smile, Iruka had repeated the same words the jounin had said minutes before.
Kakashi smiled back.
"In that case…" Iruka almost screamed in pleasure when Kakashi resumed his thrusts deeper. He wasn't going to last much longer either.
But they had the whole night ahead of them.
