Midoriya made his way towards the school library with a slight pep in his step, surprisingly excited about this project that he was assigned by Midnight.

While most would say a break is needed after dealing with the rigorous practice for the culture festival he had a few days ago and training for One for All, he couldn't help but rise up to the challenge. Assigned to present information on the history of support items in heroics.

As for why he was going to the library, that was mostly a last-minute decision on his part.

While he didn't hate the idea of studying in the commons of the dorms, his classmates can be quite the rowdy bunch whenever they wanted to. Making any attempts of studying in the living area of the dorms futile.

And while studying in his room was also a viable option for him, it can feel a bit too suffocating for him from time to time being holed up in his room for extensive periods. Making studying in the school's library seem like an option that had the best qualities of both areas in his dorm.

However to his dismay, he found that a lot of the tables were filled up with other students when he got there. No doubt studying for their own topics and courses or just there to hang out. Making his hopes of finding a table for him to work on slowly wither.

Before he gave up on his search though, he finally spotted a table towards the back of the room that was occupied by only one person. A blacked-haired girl who was studying idly on her own with a blank expression on her face as she occasionally shifted her gaze between a notebook beside her to write notes and a book that was laid out flat in front of her.

Getting closer, he vaguely remembered that she was a person from the hero course in Class B. Recalling a girl with a blank expression whenever they went to train in the middle of a forest during the summer on the buses or when they were assigning people for the 'test of courage'. But for the most part, he really didn't know anything about her to say that he could find some connection between them.

Yet while he felt pressured to instigate a conversation with someone he never really spoke to before, he came too far to try and back out now. Walking over to her table with a sheepish smile as her attention shifted from her notes toward the green-haired teen. The deep cerulean-colored eyes boring into him as she carefully watched him from her seat, making him unsure of what she may be thinking.

"E-Excuse me. Is this seat taken?"

He watched as the girl's eyes continued to watch him after several moments of silence, making him fidget a bit before she shook her head once with a hum. Causing him to relax just the slightest bit as he took this chance to ask his next question.

"Do you mind if I sit here?"

She shrugged as her eyes turned back towards the page she was reading with a hum as the greenette breathed his own sigh of relief, and started to lay out his own notes and reading material for him to look at.

The stranger only took a glance at him before shifting her focus back onto the page she was reading while Midoriya started to get his own things set up. Wanting to make the most of his time here before he had to go back to the dorms for dinner.

For a while, the sound of notes scribbling on paper and the soft chatter around the room faded into the background as the two students continued to research their topics. Content with the quiet and calm atmosphere around them as they tried to get some work done...

Yui Kodai was a quiet girl.

That is not to say that she was shy about speaking her thoughts out loud, recalling numerous times in her own class when she threw in an idea or two when the time needed it. She just wasn't a very talkative person by choice, just content with listening to others around her. So she can't actively say that she was the one to initiate a conversation with other people most of the time.

It was the same when she invited Izuku Midoriya to her table, seeing no harm in inviting the hero in training from her sister class no matter how much Monoma complained about Class A 'stealing the spotlight'. As she heard some of the greenette's exploits through the news just as the raid and the sports festival. Enjoying the company from the green-haired teen even if they weren't actively talking to each other at the moment.

Though their calm atmosphere was soon interrupted when she heard something odd. Something that managed to break her focus from her notes and look around in confusion, hearing soft mutters and whispers that managed to cut through the once quiet environment. She looked up with a slightly furrowed brow trying to decipher where the sound was coming from, only to do a double take when she found the culprit to be the same person she invited to sit at her table.

While Midoriya's eyes never seemed to have moved from the book laid out in front of him, a steady flow of mutters escaped his lips as he tapped the bottom of his chin repeatedly. Focused entirely on the material he was reading while writing faster than anyone Kodai has seen before.

She managed to catch a few topics from his project escape from the greenette's lips, but most were too muddled for her to fully decipher. Yet despite the odd and slightly amusing sight of the greenette, there was a part of her that enjoyed listening to the teen talk away his thoughts and ideas. The soft murmurs neither bothered her enough to warrant annoyance and calming enough that she could get used to it if given the time to do so.

Though she knew that it couldn't go on forever.

She hesitated only for a moment on whether or not she should stop this endless stream of mutters in front of her, but ultimately mustered the courage to reach her hand across the table towards Midoriya. Idly wondering what his reaction might be.

Midoriya kept his eyes focused on the page in front of him as he took in the information that will be useful for this project of his. Not wanting to miss anything of value as he tuned out the world around him. Only jumping in place when he felt a gentle nudge on his forearm. Diverting his attention from his notebook and reading material to the girl sitting in front of him while sporting a confused look.

"Do you always do that?" the girl asked as her lips twitched the slightest bit in amusement.

Even when asked with a monotone voice and a blank expression, Midoriya didn't have to think very hard to know what she was referring to. Already used to this kind of encounter whenever this came up as his expression turned sheepish and an embarrassed blush slowly started to spread on his cheeks.

"S-Sorry. Was I muttering?"

"Yes."

The quick answer from the stoic girl made him slump in his seat in embarrassment, already feeling his cheeks heat up even more as he anxiously looked at her face for any reaction to his old habit.

"S-Sorry. I'll try to keep it down."

To his surprise, the girl in front of him only paused for a moment before shaking her head as she looked at him with a bit of intrigue in her deep blue eyes before going back to her notebook.

"I don't mind if you do it or not. Just wanted to let you know you were doing it," she shrugged with little change to her expression, "It's kind of nice to listen to."

With that, the girl's entire focus went back to the book in her hands. Leaving a bewildered expression on Midoriya as he slowly looked back to his own reading material while glancing at the girl every so often with a furrowed brow. Confused by the statement from the person in front of him.

His muttering... was nice?

His habit was called many things over the years. From annoying and irritating during his years in Aldera to odd and peculiar during his time in UA. Even his closest friends found it amusing to listen to whenever they had a chance to see it, already having heard it numerous times during the school year whenever a new quirk or tactic was used by a hero.

But for it to be nice to listen to? That didn't really make a whole lot of sense to him. Even so, he couldn't help but feel a slight warmth fill him as he looked back at his notes. Finding difficulty getting his mind back on track now that he was thinking about the compliment from the girl.

He jumped when he noticed the person in front of him started to gather her things, presumably done with studying for the time being. Making him flustered as he never got to thank her for letting him sit here.

"W-Wait!"

She stopped gathering her things for a moment as she looked over at him with a questioning gaze and a slight tilt of her head, making the greenette fidget as he mustered up the courage to speak to her.

"I-I'm Izuku Midoriya, and... I just want to say thank you for letting me sit here..."

He trailed off not knowing the name of the person, which she thankfully understood. Giving him a small smile while a small display of warmth managed to reach her usual stoic eyes as she introduced herself to him. Leaving him momentarily stunned as he has never seen a different expression on her face before now.

"Kodai. Yui Kodai," the girl said with the smile never leaving her face, "And you're welcome."

While not a big one, the smile and warm expression on her face captivated him as she finally finished packing the rest of her things and started to head towards the exit of the library. His eyes following the back of the person until she was finally out of view.

It took him a while for him to tear his gaze away from the exit. Finally going back to his notes as a warm smile started to spread on his face due to the encounter. As a stray thought managed to break through, still reeling from the sudden acquaintance and their interaction together.

'I wonder if I will meet her again...'
