"So you honestly believe that Team Plasma will be planning to do something if this N character wins?" Virgil asked.
"I know, it sounds dumb, but yeah. They have access to the legendary Pokemon Reshiram and Kyurem." Ash said.
"And why are we meeting in your room?" Virgil asked.
"Because they have ninjas and this is the one place we know they won't be watching for us." Elliot explained.
"I know it's a lot to take in, but we do believe there could be an attack and anyone we could get on our side would be useful." Ash said.
"Of course, you can count on me and the Eevee corps." Virgil said reassuringly. "Who else is on our side?"
"Any gym leaders who show up and another trainer named Hugh." Rosa said.
"Did you try to ask your last opponent?" Virgil asked.
"Something tells me that Trip isn't much of a team player for this." Ash admitted.
"Well I'll let some of my friends know about this so that there will be protection in other places just in case this incident isn't in one location." Virgil explained. "I'll definitely stick around just in case though."
"Thanks Virgil, that means a lot." Ash said.
"Of course, and good luck in your next match." Virgil responded.
"Who is your next opponent anyways?" Rosa asked.
"We won't know the matchups until tomorrow." Ash responded. "Until then, we relax."
The following morning
"Ash, the listings are up." Rosa exclaimed, rushing in.
"Okay, who am I up against?" Ash asked curiously.
"Georgia." Rosa said, handing Ash the list.
"She actually is in the tournament huh?" Elliot said in surprise.
"Last time you fought her, even with an advantage you and Riolu barely beat her Bisharp." Rosa pointed out. "She's sure to not go down as easily this time."
"Maybe so, but Riolu has gotten quite the power up since our last fight." Ash said. "And according to Elliot, Bisharp is already fully evolved."
"And for your other two?" Rosa asked.
"Surprises." Ash responded.
At the arena
"Welcome everyone to the third round match between Ash and Georgia. For those of you just joining us this is a three on three battle with no other limitations, the battle will be over when one side is out of Pokemon that are able to battle. Now the coin has been flipped, and Georgia will be sending out her Pokemon first."
"Don't go easy on me Georgia." Ash commented.
"Wouldn't dream of it. Now come out Whimsicott!" Georgia called out.
"Deino I choose you!" Ash exclaimed.
"You do remember I'm a dragon slayer, right?" Georgia asked.
"Yeah, doesn't mean I doubt Deino any less." Ash said with confidence.
"Isn't this." Rosa paused.
"Deion's first battle, yeah, Ash could have made a better choice here." Elliot added.
"Deino use Fire Fang!"
"Whimsicott use Hurricane!"
Whimsicott was whisked into the air, easily dodging the land based Deion's attack, while striking the small dragon with various rocks and dirt.
"Deino use Dragon Rage!"
"Use Hurricane!"
Whimsicott spun in the air once more, dissipating the draconic flames before they even made it close.
"How can Ash even hit something that high up?" Rosa asked.
"Pikachu's Thunderbolt, or Braviary would work best, hopefully he registered one of them." Elliot said.
"Come on Ash, have Braviary." Rosa said, sitting on the edge of her seat. "Do the smart thing and switch out."
"Deino return!" Ash said, recalling the dragon.
"Yes!" Rosa cheered.
"Come out Larvesta!" Ash exclaimed.
"No!" Rosa said in exasperation.
"Larvesta use String Shot and Ember combined!"
"Blow it and that Larvesta away with Hurricane!"
Larvesta's silk shot up, engulfing in flames creating a stream of flames trailing up and encircling Whimsicott.
"What, how did he come up with that idea?" Elliot said in confusion.
"Thank you May." Ash said, remembering watching her practice combos with String Shot and Beautifly. "Now Larvesta ride the wind!"
Larvesta leapt from the ground, being flung about by his silk as he quickly encroached on Whimsicott.
"Whimsicott use Energy Ball!"
Larvesta's movements were too chaotic as he was flung further and further up before finally letting go and landing on top of Whimsicott.
"Larvesta use Leech Life!"
Larvesta dug his fangs down deep into Whimsicott's fur, causing the grass type to panic and begin to plummet to the ground.
"Larvesta cushion the fall with String Shot!"
Larvesta begin spinning silk at a rapid pace, covering the arena in its sticky silk.
"Incredible! In a shocking turn of events Ash has used a move to save both his and his opponents Pokemon!" The announcer exclaimed.
"Whimsicott return!" Georgia said, the red beam striking her grass type, but unable to pull it back in.
"Looks like Whimsicott is stuck in the silk!" The announcer said.
"Larvesta, use Ember attack!" Ash called out.
Larvesta scuttled across his silk, unleashing a flurry of embers engulfing the mass and Whimsicott with it.
"And Whimsicott has been knocked out! Who will Georgia send out next?" The announcer declared.
"Whimsicott return!" Georgia said. "Vanilluxe let's go!"
"Ice type. Larvesta use Ember!"
"Vanilluxe use Hail!"
Hail began to rain down on the field, pelting Larvesta and extinguishing his Ember attack.
"Now use Weather Ball!"
"Use String Shot!"
Larvesta sent out a ball of silk, trying to stop Vanilluxe's attack to no avail as he was shot by the bounced back ball of silk followed by the freezing ball of icy energy, trapping Larvesta beneath both of them.
"Larvesta break free with Flame Charge!"
Larvesta struggled, engulfing himself in flames as the silk and ice began melting around him as he began to break free.
"Vanilluxe use Sheer Cold!"
Vanilluxe sent out a blast of ice, engulfing Larvesta in a frozen block, knocking him out instantly.
"And Larvesta was knocked out with that one attack!" The announcer declared. "Who will Ash send out now?"
"Larvesta you were great." Ash said, recalling the bug type. "Now come on out Lucario!"
"Heh, little Riolu ended up evolving, nice. Vanilluxe use Weather Ball!" Georgia called out.
"Lucario use Aura Sphere!"
Lucario sent out his aura sphere at Vanilluxe, colliding it with the ice type's weather ball, the two orbs pushing against one another.
"Lucario use Bullet Punch!" Ash called out.
"Vanilluxe use Icy Wind!"
Lucario raced forward, easily dodging the freezing winds before slamming hit fist into Vanilluxe, sending them spinning backwards.
"Lucario keep them off balance with another Aura Sphere!"
As Vanilluxe was still spinning from the quick punch from Lucario it was struck by his aura sphere, sending the ice type crashing backwards to the ground.
"And Vanilluxe was knocked out! What will Georgia's final Pokemon be?" The announcer called out.
"Come on we both know it's that Bisharp of yours." Ash commented.
"Close, but just like your little Riolu, we evolved. Kingambit come out!" Georgia exclaimed.
"Elliot." Rosa said in shock.
"Yeah, I'm seeing it, but I don't believe it." Elliot said.
"Doesn't matter, we've fought Pawniards, and Bisharps, the same should apply to a Kingambit." Ash said with confidence. "Lucario use Aura Sphere!"
"Kingambit, Kowtow Cleave!" Georgia called out.
Kingambit slammed their forehead blade down, slicing right through Lucario's aura sphere, sending the two parts flying off to the sides.
"Oh Distortion." Ash said in shock.
"Kingambit use Iron Head!"
"Lucario dodge it!"
Lucario was easily able to outmaneuver Kingambit's slow movements as the large dark and steel type stopped several feet past where Lucario had been.
"Lucario use Dragon Pulse!"
"Kingambit use Iron Head!"
Lucario let loose a Dragon Pulse which did little other than fly off of Kingambit's armor as he struck Lucario.
"Lucario switch out! Deino come back out and use Fire Fang!"
"When will you learn? Kingambit use Guillotine!"
Kingambit stomped forward as Deino rushed, flames ignited in his mouth before latching onto the top blade, only to be struck by two more.
"Oh, talk about bad luck. That Guillotine attack just knocked out Deino!" The announcer called out.
"Come on, give me that boost I needed." Ash said quietly. "Lucario come back out!"
"Kingambit use Iron Head!"
"Lucario, remember what Cobalion taught, use that with your Aura Sphere!" Ash exclaimed.
As Kingambit trudged forward, Lucario stayed steady, holding the growing yellow sphere of aura energy.
"Kingambit stop and use Kowtow Cleave!" Georgia called out.
"Now!" Ash called out.
Kingambit skidded to a stop, tripping up momentarily as he stopped, only to be engulfed by the aura sphere.
Once the light cleared, Kingambit was still on the ground, twitching after a few seconds of him not getting back up, the announcer called it.
"And Kingambit has been defeated! The winners of the match are Ash and Lucario!" The judge declared.
"Good match Ash, but I'm not giving up just yet." Georgia said with determination.
"Good to hear, but I wanted to talk to you about something actually." Ash said.
"Don't worry I'm not going anywhere, I'll keep cheering you like a good sport would." Georgia said with a smirk and a wink.
"I guess that works." Ash said, as he and Lucario were left in the arena.
