The silence was rather uncomfortable once Harry said that he didn't know who he'd slept with on the night in question. Harry sat there quietly, hands in his lap as Draco stared at the teenager, blinking in surprise.
"I'm sorry…What did you just say? D-Did you say you don't know?" Draco repeated, breaking the awkward quiet of their dorm. Harry shook his head at the blonde. "Potter…" Draco paused. "Forgive me, but how the fuck do you not know who you slept with? The wizarding world is not so large that you wouldn't recognize them."
"I told you, I thought this guy was a muggle!" Harry groaned.
"Well, you're only seventeen…Surely this guy is around our age. Maybe he's a student here now…" Draco offered.
"He's not. He said something about always working and his co-workers getting on him about never getting out." Harry muttered.
"Well, there aren't that many sole wizarding taverns. Which one did you go to, maybe he frequents it?" Draco suggested next.
"Merlin above…" Harry sighed. "Draco, it happened in a muggle nightclub bathroom stall. Okay?" The blonde seemed taken aback as Harry stood up, folding his arms over one another and turning away from Draco. "Even if this guy were still there…He wouldn't know me as me."
"What do you mean?" Draco inquired as he moved next to Harry now. "Why wouldn't he know who you are? Every magical being knows you. Did you obliviate him?" Harry held his arms and shook his head. "Did he rape you?"
"No…It's just. I…" The teen sighed.
"Talk to me, Harry." Draco urged gently, bringing Harry to sit back down on the bed.
"You can't tell anyone, Draco. I mean it…Nobody knows about this except me and a goblin at Gringotts." Harry began.
"You have my word." Draco promised.
"I went out that night to just live my life the way I wanted. Just…Just one time I wanted to not be Harry Potter. So I chose a muggle bar and went under a disguise." Harry informed. "I'd gone to the bank that day to get things straightened out with my inheritance for the Potter family and I learned a lot of things that pissed me off and stressed me out."
"What happened?" Draco pushed.
"Let's just say that I trusted people I shouldn't have. I don't really want to get into the whole thing right now, betrayal is still pretty fresh." Harry took a breath.
"Shit. You'll have to tell me some time. But go on?" Draco invited.
"Yeah, one day. I basically learned I could take up the lordships for Potter and Black. My godfather, Sirius, had claimed me his heir in some magical adoption. Apparently, the Potters and the Blacks are related from a marriage several generations ago. I somehow inherited the Metamorphagus trait." Harry stated.
"So you mastered that and decided to have a night out as not you?" Draco inquired now.
"I have natural ability for it, I didn't need to master it…As well as several other things. So I wasn't at that club as myself. I changed my appearance and went as a guy in his late twenties named Scott." Harry revealed. "I just wanted to be a normal person for once. I had no intention of meeting anyone, just having some drinks and dancing."
"But then you met this guy?" The blonde wondered.
"We bumped into one another while dancing with other people and started talking. He flirted, very forward…Few more drinks and we were making out by the restrooms. And then we secluded ourselves in a stall and had sex." The teenager admitted.
"And…What? You're ashamed that you had sex in a nightclub under a disguise? Harry, I can't tell you how many people we went to school with who used glamour charms over the summer or holidays before they turned seventeen to be able to drink and have fun. You're not the first and you won't be the last." Draco chuckled. "Was the guy bad?"
"I'm ashamed that I turned guys down all night saying I wasn't having my first time having sex with a complete stranger in a nightclub bathroom and that's exactly what I did. And now I'm fucking pregnant by a guy I don't how to reach to tell him that the guy he slept with in that bathroom was actually Harry Potter, who is now pregnant with his child!" Harry covered his face.
"That was your first time having sex with a guy?" The blonde questioned. Harry gave him a look. "First time having sex ever? You were a virgin?"
"Yes, I've stated that many times, Draco. Yes. I was a virgin until that night." Harry closed his eyes again.
Draco sighed, understanding Harry's frustration at the situation and patting his back a bit. "Alright, just relax. Again…It's the British Wizarding World, it's not huge. I'm sure we can find out who this guy is…Just try to calm down, Potter."
"How?" Harry asked.
"Do you remember anything about him?" Draco asked.
Harry nodded. "Early to mid-thirties. Dark brown hair…Hazel eyes, I think. His name was Howard. We hit it off pretty well, he wanted to see me again. Well, Scott. But I knew I was coming back to school and would never get off campus to see him until…Maybe the holidays."
"Alright, well maybe what we can do during the holidays is go to that place one night and see if you can find the guy. If he's as busy as he said, I'm betting he uses the holidays to get out for some fun." Draco suggested.
"It could work, but that's still two months away…I'll be almost five months pregnant by then." Harry said. "What do I do for now?..."
"We'll just carry this on as normal. Harry. I can be your healer, privately. We'll do everything here in the dorm for your appointments. I can brew your potions too." Draco mentioned. "We'll only go to Madam Pomfrey if something goes beyond my control. We won't tell anyone you don't want knowing."
"And how do we hide the growing belly?" Harry asked.
"Glamour charm? You've got your metamorphagus ability, you can alter your body to hide it, can't you?" The blond wondered.
"I can try, but how will pregnancy affect my magic?" He questioned. "I know nothing about this, Draco. I never wondered much about it with girls as I wasn't ready to settle down and I didn't know until today that male wizards can get pregnant."
"Just relax. I'll get you things to read and obviously, I'm right here if you need to ask something." Draco told him. "As for your magic, you should be alright. There are cases where high emotions can cause what would be considered as accidental magic. But as for using magic in general, it's fine as long as you're not over doing it. And I expect towards the end, you'll grow too tired to be using a lot of magic."
"My concern, however, is potions. It's fine for reading and even ingredient preparation…Even brewing some. But this is a NEWT year for you, some of those potions will be too dangerous for you to brew while pregnant." Draco commented.
"This is my last year, Draco…I can't not take part in potions. It's a core class…" Harry reminded.
"I know. I'll figure something out. We may have to speak to the headmaster, or Slughorn about alternatives until you can brew again. Well, brew the ones that won't be hazardous to you. Maybe we can put them off, let you self-study with books and whatnot…Then you could take the NEWT and see how you do after the baby is born?"
"Would that work?" Harry arched a brow.
"Well, here's the thing, Harry. No matter what…You graduate Hogwarts this year and the NEWT exams are offered to be taken here at the school. But…It doesn't mean you have to take them here. You could take all your other final exams here, then take Potions at the ministry after you give birth. You could practice brewing once the baby is out, all the things you can't do while pregnant. Then just take that last test a month or two after. You still get your exams, and you still finish school." Draco suggested.
"I don't have much choice, do I? Short of terminating the pregnancy, which I won't do. I'm having this baby even though it's undecided if I'll keep it or not." Harry sighed. "Well, at least I'll be able to take the exam, just not in June with the rest. Maybe I can still observe the brewing? See it done but in a barrier or behind a window or something?"
"We'd have to speak to Slughorn and Snape about accommodations. Are you prepared to tell them it's because you are pregnant?" Draco asked.
"No, not yet. I don't want to have to hide it, I'm just not ready to tell people. Especially because I'm so far along already…I'll show soon, won't I?" Harry wondered.
"It's different for everyone, I'm afraid. For some, it can show around four to five months. Others, not until the end of the pregnancy. And then there are the few who could show very early." Draco informed. "Is there anyone you will tell? I think you should have some support in this, Harry. You have me as your healer, and friend…But we don't see one another much through the day."
"And people might talk once they find out I'm pregnant. It will out me as bisexual, at the least, but people will want to know who the father is and once I reveal I don't know…Well, I'm sure you can just imagine how people will react when they learn Harry Potter had a one-night stand with a stranger in a muggle restroom." Harry rolled his eyes.
"Well, yeah. People will talk. A lot of people can and will likely get jealous. We already know one who is pissy you're not with her." Draco chuckled.
"Don't remind me. She's gonna freak out…" Harry muttered.
"This is why I suggest you tell others, people you trust to have your back. You're right, Ginerva will become very angry once she learns that not only do you not want to get back with her for the reasons you said…But also that you slept with someone else, a stranger, and got pregnant. She seems like the crazy ex type, Potter…So just be careful. Not just you, but the baby too." Draco told Harry, as a matter of concern.
"I'll tell Hermione and Ron…Well, not sure how to tell Ron since he's away training to become an auror. I'll tell Hermione, for now…What about any of your friends? Can they be trusted?" Harry inquired.
"Blaise, probably. Pansy is a gossip queen, Crabbe can't keep a secret. Theo would be fine too." Draco shrugged. "Why do you want to tell any of them?"
"When Snape told me about Healer Strout taking me on, I dealt with some morning sickness…Ginny tried to follow me into the bathroom. She would have if Snape wasn't there to stop her. Just think maybe it's a place I should be watching my back in and Hermione wouldn't go in so guess I need a couple guys who might have my back." Harry replied.
"That's fair." Draco nodded in agreement. "Well, how about we pull Theo, Blaise, and Granger aside when they return from Hogsmeade. Or bring everyone here after dinner and tell them."
"Perhaps after dinner, so no one is still trying to settle with the shock during the meal." Harry suggested.
"Good idea." Draco replied. "Try not to stress, okay? We'll get you through this and just think…Once people know, it'll go public. Maybe that guy you were with will put the pieces together that it could be his?"
"Maybe but I'm not looking to have it be on the front page of the Daily Prophet that I went to a muggle club under a disguise, got drunk, and had my first time with a stranger in the bathroom." Harry retorted. Draco chuckled a bit. "It's not funny!"
"I'm just teasing. Calm down." Draco told Harry. "It's a little funny that one night of fun turned into this. That the first time you have sex, you end up pregnant."
"Oh screw you, Malfoy." Harry folded his arms over one another.
"It's Healer Malfoy and screwing someone is what got you here." Draco smirked.
"Ugh. You're still an annoying little git." Harry smiled afterwards. "Thank you for all this…"
"What are friends for?" Draco answered. "You're welcome."
. . .
For Harry, it had been nice to hear Draco refer to them as friends. It was rather interesting that they became enemies in their first year and now in their last year, have become friends. But one thing for sure was that Harry was lucky to have a healer friend because he didn't want to take this to Madam Pomfrey. It would involve informing everyone immediately and Harry wasn't ready for that.
Especially after what Draco warned him of with Ginny probably freaking out when she learned Harry was pregnant. The green-eyed teen didn't want to deal with all that with how Ginny had been so far. It would not be pretty, but after talking with Draco, Harry was going to tell Ginny that they wouldn't be getting back together. Tonight though, Harry would be sitting down with Draco to tell Hermione, Blaise, and Theo about being pregnant.
Dinner was over and students were making their way out of the hall to return to their dorms. Harry went right for Phoenix House while Draco stayed back to round him Hermione, Blaise, and Theo. Harry was able to avoid Ginny, she tried calling to him and Harry pretended he didn't hear her. Getting to his room, Harry kicked off his shoes and used the bathroom. By the time he got out Draco was walking in the door.
"You good, Potter?" Draco inquired.
"As I'm gonna get," Harry nodded.
Draco came into the room, ushering the other three with him, and then closing the door. Draco added an anti-eavesdropping spell before he pulled over his desk chair and joined the rest who found seats at Potter's desk, and one standing while Hermione sat next to Harry.
"What's going on, Harry?" Hermione asked gently, her hand immediately going to her best male friend's shoulder. "Draco said something happened and you'd need support."
Harry sighed, glancing down. "I-I…I'm pregnant."
Hermione's eyes widened a bit. "Oh, Harry…"
"It was two days before we returned to school…I just wanted one night to go out and have fun without everyone knowing who I was. So I changed my appearance and went out to a muggle nightclub. Had a couple drinks, ended up having sex in the bathroom with a stranger." Harry revealed.
"He's been sick at random the last few weeks and I finally got him to agree to a diagnostic scan earlier while everyone was at Hogsmeade. That's how we found out." Draco added.
"And who is the father?" Blaise wondered.
"We don't know who it is. Harry has a vague description and a first name, but that's it. Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, thirties and goes by the name of Howard." Draco replied.
"Right. Congrats, I think. So what's with all the secretiveness about it? It's not uncommon for wizards to get pregnant, but it is rare that it happens without help from potions. I'm not surprised given how powerful Potter is." Theodore remarked.
"The problem is that Potter has a jealous, pushy female stalker." Draco hinted. "And I can't always be around to make sure she doesn't do what crazy ex-girlfriends do."
"You're worried about the Weasley girl?" Blaise looked at Harry.
"There's cause for worry with how much she's trying to link herself to him." The blonde remarked. "She's always hanging around and basically acting like his girlfriend when they aren't together. Potter doesn't want to get back with her, so you know that's gonna be an emotional fight on her part because she's a spoiled brat. But I fear for the crazy ex part when she finds out he's pregnant."
"She's a pure-blood, she'll know it could have only happened if he had sex with another guy and while they were broken up, but also after the war ended when she believed they would be getting back together." Draco added. "Look, I am Potter's healer for the pregnancy and he doesn't want anyone else knowing yet. It will come out eventually, and he knows that…"
A pause, "But before everyone finds out, I want him protected. Not full on bodyguard, but close by to intervene if Ginerva tries anything. Between the three of you, I think Harry will be covered while traveling between classes in the halls. This needs to also cover the restroom. Apparently, if not for Headmaster Snape making the girl leave, she would have followed Harry into the boy's room when he felt sick." Draco informed.
"Male pregnancy is considered high-risk. I assume you also don't want him stressed out?" Hermione stated.
"As un-stressed as possible." Draco nodded.
"How far along is he?" Blaise wondered.
"Nine weeks." Harry responded.
"A week over two months," Draco confirmed. "I did the scans myself."
"Are we going to be trying to find the other father?" Theodore asked.
Harry shrugged. "Draco has an idea that if we wait until the holidays, maybe I can go stalk the club to see if the guy is there again."
"Well, it's an idea. But if not?" Theodore pushed.
"Draco has this theory that once it comes out I'm pregnant, it'll make the front page of the daily prophet and maybe that will draw out someone who puts the pieces together." Harry rolled his eyes. "But I think not because I wasn't me when I went to this place. I was under a disguise and went by a different name." He mentioned.
"Isn't there a potion or a spell that could reveal the father?" Hermione inquired.
"What do you mean?" Blaise arched a curious brow.
"I thought I read about it in the restricted section on potions and spells outside of our normal curriculum. There was one or the other used to identify the magic of both parents and reveal who they were. It was used on magical kids who were in orphanages that just got dropped off there and no one knew their background." Hermione explained.
"Is that a thing, Draco?" Harry wondered now.
"I've never heard of it, but I don't go wandering the restricted section either. I'd have to ask Snape, he's a potions master. Or even Madam Pomfrey." Draco remarked. "But then either one would question why I need to know such a random thing."
"You could tell them you're wondering for part of your training. A situation where maybe a patient was raped and left pregnant. Being able to identify suspects by magical signature?" Hermione offered.
"Or just that you were studying and came across the information, but there was none on how to brew the potion or perform the spell. Offering up a situation for why he'd need to know would open up doors of wondering if that is indeed why he needed to know." Blaise shrugged.
"That good with you, Potter?" Draco inquired.
"Yeah, that's okay." Harry nodded. "I appreciate all this."
"Don't worry, Harry. We got your back." Hermione told him with a smile.
"Thanks. Oh, you can tell Ron too, but make sure no one else overhears." Harry stated.
"Of course. Ron and I communicate through two-way mirrors and two-way journals. I'll ensure he's somewhere that can't be overheard. More specifically, his mother. I'm sorry, I know how good Molly has been to us but she had one daughter out of six boys. And the daughter is the youngest of them all. I would think she has a softer spot for Ginny and would do anything to see her daughter happy, and obviously was over excited when she learned you two were dating…" Hermione sighed.
"You think Molly is part of the problem with Ginny? Urging her to be more assertive and pushy to get back together?" Harry asked.
Hermione nodded. "I'm telling you, ulterior motive." Draco huffed. "Especially with what you just said about Ginerva being the only girl."
"It's simple to figure out, isn't it?" Theodore chuckled. "Weasleys have always been poor. In a family of six boys and one girl…Ginny would be the perfect candidate to marry Potter. While the advances of magic potions allow two males to have a baby, or like in Harry's case, powerful enough to conceive without them…No one would want to see their savior with a man."
"You think it's to do with image and money?" Blaise remarked.
"What else would it be about?" Theodore scoffed. "Potter told us on the train ride that he had multiple inheritances. I'm sure that they figured out Harry took up his family lordship. The Weaslette's rush is that if Harry and her are together during school, when she graduates…She rides the position of his fame into her career, and then lives a lavish lifestyle on his money as his wife."
"You don't truly think that, do you?" Hermione said quickly.
"It's the only thing that makes sense. They don't talk to Percy anymore since Voldemort had returned and Percy took the ministry's side in calling me a liar…Charlie lives in Romania and he is gay. Ron has you, and Bill has Fleur. George and Angelina are getting closer because of Fred's death. Ginny is the only one who could marry me and have it be a huge change in lifestyle and image for her and her family." Harry closed his eyes.
"Theo's right, 'Mione. I hate to say it, to even think it…But it's the only thing that makes sense. She's obsessed with me, pushing us to get back together and acting like a spoiled brat not getting her way when I said no to focus on my mental health. Now this, I'm pregnant…And don't want her back. She's gonna lose her shit or go crazy ex-girlfriend like Draco said. And regrettably…I think Molly would try and help her daughter get me because Molly also spoke a lot about us getting back together." Harry said.
"This is why his protection is imperative. Jealous exes do crazy shit, and in a magical world…That could mean things to hurt the baby, or love potions on the target." Draco said.
"We'll keep him safe, you figure out if we can learn who the father is. And we'll all get him through this." Hermione told the males. "Ron too."
All five of them nodded, their plan set to make sure that Harry was safe and got through this pregnancy with as little problems as possible.
