It was another sunny day in Neo Tokyo, the gentle sunlight piercing through the curtain, erupted into a bright white flash as a slim figure with long green hair opened the curtains with vigour, smiling optimistically for another bright day. In the background the TV was on, at the moment set to Neo News Network.
"…some of that cloud developing in the afternoon, with the potential to develop into rain later on this evening. Tomorrow we'll see some patchy heavy rain, which will fade away quite quickly as the day goes on. So that's it for now, back to you Crypto!"
"Segata there with the weather, our top stories: Police have raided a terrorist base in the outskirts of Neo Tokyo, up to 300 people and robots have been arrested for plotting to launch a series of attacks over the coming days, with the president saying that 'those who plan to bring down our freedoms, will never win against the might of Neo Tokyo'. The girl pressed the remote, turning the TV off as she sat down to eat breakfast, turning the radio on with a flick of a switch as the newest hit from Media Future played on the radio, once finished, she walked into her bedroom and changed into her work clothes, a smart brown shirt and a pair of neat black trousers. She walked over to her desk and turned her computer on, waiting for a minute before the screen came on, she checked her emails, before switching it off. She finally tied her hair into twintails, stopping only to grab her bag as she walked out the door. Today, thought Miku was going to be another fine day.
Miku hummed gently to herself as she took her break opening her lunchbox as she had her dinner, when one of her co-workers walked in "Hey Miku!"
"Oh hey Sonico!" Her co-worker walked up to her and gave her a teasing hug.
"And how is Neo Tokyo's next idol?" Miku stuffed an onigiri into her mouth, chewing a little before she had enough room in her mouth to reply.
"I haven't been accepted yet!"
"But you made it to the auditions, didn't you!"
"Well…yeah…but I got to the auditions last year, and the year before the year before that." Picking up an egg roll.
"Who knows then, third time lucky perhaps?"
Miku finished eating her food before replying "Yeah, but what a time to be selected. Terrorist activities seemed to be on the rise lately."
"Pfff…don't worry about that, the police know what they're doing. You know after you left yesterday, the police raided the café."
Miku spun her head somewhat exasperated "Really?" Her co-worker nodded her head.
"Oh yeah, me and Kiki were serving the late shift when the police barged in and arrested a customer for having anti government materials on his person."
"Oh dear, I guess that was a bit of a shock, you don't expect to be serving a terrorist at work."
"I know, but you see…the police are very effective, you know on the news that they've arrested almost 300 of them."
"Yeah I did hear, by the way, how did Kiki react when the police raided the café?"
"Oh she didn't seem to be too bothered to be honest."
Miku stared at the ceiling pondering for a moment "I wonder if she's a Kuudere?"
"Oh I don't think so, she seemed to enjoy herself when we went shopping that one time."
"Huh, maybe it's something I said, I mean I have tried to have a chat with her every time we meet."
Sonico gave a shrug "Well, I've got to be back on duty, see you later?"
"Sorry got to practise for next week, maybe next time."
"Alright then see you around!"
As Miku returned to her apartment building, she walked into the alleyway behind the building where she spotted a familiar figure sitting among the rubbish bags piled up around the side of the building. "Hello there bag lady!" Miku cheerfully greeted fumbling around in her pockets, finding a 1000 yen note and placing it in her cup. The 'bag lady' as Miku called her only appeared around her apartment building a fortnight ago, when she had decided to help a neighbour out by finding a lost toy that a kid had sent down the chute and found her sitting in amongst the rubbish, she rarely talked much, and didn't even give Miku her name, hench the 'bag lady' name that Miku called her by, but even though she was not a talkative person, Miku could tell that she appreciated her help.
"Many thanks, have a good day, cough cough."
Miku gave a smile and walked back around to the front of her apartment building, walking up the hundreds of stairs to her floor, and opened the door, and strolling through her apartment, throwing her handbag onto the settee as she meandered her way towards the bathroom, finding her green and grey dress that she hung up on the shower door that morning, and with that Miku began to undress, and have a relaxing shower before she practised for the audition.
Having freshed herself up, Miku prepared to make tea, preparing the vegetables and getting a plate out for some nice leek and lentil soup, before she got to work though she strolled back into her bedroom, sat down at her desk and turned the computer monitor on. It immediately showed her emails. That was concerning, the computer was already on, but she wasn't the one who turned it on. Miku looked around, but she saw no-one in her dark bedroom, she slowly switched the monitor off and silently got up from her chair and got her phone out. Was this a job for the police? They wouldn't be interested in someone checking her e-mails, right? Wait, this might be a burglary, but before Miku could press the dials of her phone, she heard something coming from her right, she slowly turned in the direction of the noise, but the only thing there…was the wardrobe. Miku shakily crept towards the cupboard was there a burglar in there, or did she just imagine the noise. Suddenly something shot out of the cupboard, causing Miku to gasp in surprise and drop her phone as something charged straight towards her, grabbed her by her dress and barged her onto the side of her bed.
"Please, don't hurt me!" she squeaked, raising her hands to protect her head.
"Oh for crying out loud!" the mysterious figure cried in a somewhat annoyed voice, letting her grip on Miku's dress go as the figure heavily dragged her feet to the middle of the room. Miku lowered her hands, in front of her, was the back of a small girl, with blonde hair done in a long ponytail, held together with a circular light blue ribbon, wearing a similar dress to what she was wearing, only with yellow instead of teal. The figure gave a sigh and slowly turned her head and stared at Miku with her bright yellow eyes. Miku recognised her instantly.
"Neru…?"
"Hi cuz…"
