NightShade- VampireKnight Fanfiction- Uma Lake Series Book 1
Hello, I am Uma Lake. My story is not a good one to know. I do not wish my life on anyone. In the beginning, I had a huge mansion, a gullible loving twin sister. Two absent parents and six aunts and uncles, who would check in on us to make sure we were safe. At least until I turned five. I came into my power early and nearly brought the mansion down upon my sister and me. I was a young child, I didn't know any better and had no idea of how to control this power that courses through my veins. But it was bad enough my parents placed a power dampening collar around my neck and got rid of me. Next thing I knew I was placed in this hell hole.
Humans could call it an orphanage of sorts. Or they could call it a prison. The second would be more correct. Here kin children without families are taught, trained, and locked away. Over the years until we come of age we are trained to kill. Raised to be nothing but an army for the royal family. A bloodline looked upon with disgust within these walls. The day I was brought here Uma Lake, ceased to be. I became Uma, a child without a bloodline.
Day in and day out life is stuck on repeat. Every morning our cells are opened so we can bathe and prepare for the day. Then we are ushered through the walls to the mess hall for breakfast. Afterward, we are split up into specific classes and sent into a dingy room. The room consists of chairs set on raising stands that double as steps. The teacher stands on the bottom floor and speaks out his lectures. Our recreation? We are herded outside to the training grounds that are lined with tall metal fences powered with energy. Designed to harm and incapacitate any who touch it. Here is where we learn how to fight and kill with not only our hands, claws, fangs, tails, or whatever but also with our energy. The very power coursing through us from birth. We have three sessions of recreation in between our classroom studies. For lunch, we are herded back to the mess hall and given barely enough time to eat. Basically, if you find yourself unlucky enough to be caught at the back of the line the kitchen will close before you are able to get a tray. After our final round of classes, we are brought to the same mess hall to eat dinner before being ushered back to our cells in our specific blocks. Blocks are meant to keep those who feed off of energy away from those who don't, those who intake blood or fresh meat from those who would be harmed. Then the blocks that are split for energy levels. Within the utmost tower is where you will find my cell. Lined with the very same power dampener I am forced to wear every day.
(Warning people. Like all of my writing. I do take my time. I don't want to rush through a book but I figured I will post this story as I get them done.)
